Well I don't think I did this song the justice I could have. I used to play it more often and hadn't played it in a long time when I recorded this, so I was a little rusty on a few parts, but I think it came out decent. I'll have to dust up on my Def Leppard guitar chops. They were my favorite band for a long time and I used to play tons of their songs (albeit rather poorly at the time). It's probably been a good 8 years since I've played much Leppard on guitar (I became obsessed with Tool in 2002), but perhaps at some point I'll upload some others like Wasted, Die Hard the Hunter, Foolin', Billy's Got a Gun, Gods of War, and Armageddon It. Oh, and Schism, Forty-Six and 2, The Grudge, The Patient, and Lateralus, too. Damn, I got some work to do.

A great acoustic version of Far, my favorite track from the new Coheed album. Love this song. Claudio treated us to an extended intro by momentarily forgetting how the first verse started, and I don't think anyone minded too much. :)

This is my absolute favorite Coheed song, but it is HARD to play. The main verse riff is a great finger exercise, but man, it is hard to get right. Reminds me of a Coheed concert I went to several years ago. During a break between songs, some people were screaming for them to play certain songs. I screamed "Backend of Forever!!!" They just laughed... If you can find a better cover of Backend of Forever than this one... I wanna hear it, cause I haven't seen it.

Thank you all for making this my first video with over 10,000 views! If you enjoyed this one, please check out some of my others. I'm not sure why this video has received so many views while my other Led Zeppelin cover (The Ocean) has only received 60 views & was uploaded at the same time this was. Please give it some love too! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aoO1L1yXQ0 I must admit, I felt I made a lot more mistakes in this than I am happy with. Dazed and Confused was always one of those songs that I never learned note for note. I always just jammed along with it, usually hitting a few sour notes along the way. Back in 2010 when I was recording most of my guitar videos, I just ran through a bunch of songs that I had played a lot over the years, but hadn't necessarily practiced recently. Some of them came out better than others, but I felt this recording of D&C came out fairly well. Thank you all for your many kind words over the years, you've been very encouraging!

And here's a video of me playing Welcome Home... another one I'll be re-recording at some point. All the songs on Coheed's Good Apollo 1 album are tuned a half step down, and I hate detuning my guitars, so I usually play D#-tuned songs in standard tuning and hope for the best. Playing it in standard tuning makes it impossible to get the harmonics right, but other than that, I suppose I do ok. Anyway, that's just a disclaimer for all the wise-ass guitarists out there who'd wanna jump down my throat for not playing it right.

One of the first songs I ever learned to play on guitar...

Definitely one of my favorite songs to play... I'll probably re-record this cause I screwed up a couple things here & there but this will have to do for now. I should also mention that I'm playing this in standard tuning - the song (as Coheed plays it) is tuned down a half step. The verse parts are modified a bit since I couldn't play the low D# notes. Other than that, it's pretty close to what they play, except in standard tuning.

This song just kicks ass. I screwed up a little in the middle, but whatever. I'll record it better if I get around to it.

A great acoustic version of a new song, Pearl of the Stars.

Another one of my favorite Coheed songs. It's hard to get the mix right in this song since a lot of it is soft & acoustic, and this wasn't anywhere near my best performance of it. I'll re-record it sometime, but this will have to do for now. I'm not sure how Travis plays the part at the end, but one of the most fun but least-used guitar tricks I love to use is 'bending behind the nut'. In this song, I hit a 7th-fret harmonic then do a fast tremelo by pressing the string behind the nut. It's a technique that will only work on certain guitars, but it's a great trick with most guitars that have a 3x3 headstock.

My favorite song from American Idiot. I love the overall simplicity of it; all the chords are really simple, but the song has several unique parts with great chord progressions, not to mention that it gradually builds from the beginning of the song to an absolute bashing towards the end. If I were to start or join a cover band, I'd definitely perform this song live.

Not my greatest singing performance, but not terrible considering I haven't practiced it in a long time. Perhaps I'll try it again if I get better at singing it.

Far from perfect, but I've heard much worse. I try to play it as close to the original as possible, but there are some parts in the solo towards the end that I ad lib a bit. One of these decades I'll play this song better and re-upload it.

Very cool acoustic version of Here We Are Juggernaut, one of my favorite tracks from the new album.

I just love the hell out of this song. I don't know how to play some of it right so I kinda made up my own parts here & there (particularly the "liar, liar" part). I love playing this song because it is so dynamic and has a lot of different parts, not to mention one of the best song endings I've ever heard.

Just a real fun song to jam on. I screwed up the solo a bit cause I never really took the time to figure it out (eventhough it's pretty simple), but overall I guess it came out ok. Maybe I'll record it again sometime when I get the solo down better.

Here we learn about the extremely rare Coheed song apparently known as "Field Goal, Touchdown, Home Run" before the band plays the epic Welcome Home...

So Long You are there and I am here Since last we spoke it's been two years Some have come and some have gone I wish I still could play your song It's been too long I've been missing you for so long I wish I hadn't waited so long You are there and now I hear Some other guy has suddenly appeared Has he come and have I gone From your heart? Can you hear my song? Did I wait too long? And I don't know what is right All I want is you in my life But I'm sure you think I'm wrong All I know is I've waited too long Still you've stuck within my mind And every time, I take it as a sign That I can't wait one more day You let me go, there's nothing more to say It's better this way Well I guess this is so long I wish you hadn't waited So long © Matt Clark

Something Something told me I had to find you It said you were beautiful, it said you were rare Knew one day I'd see you again To think that I wouldn't I couldn't bear Knew that it would take some time Somehow I knew you were out there It was like a dream It wasn't real Then one day when I woke up I couldn't help but get a chill I thought I had to find you Little did I know You'd be a nightmare come true I sure learned my lesson from you I thought I saw something in you Something beautiful, something rare Knew that I was bound to find something Bound to find something somewhere I thought I saw something in you Then I found something wasn't there So I'm still searching for that something I thought was you Maybe someday, someday I'll find someone true But I'll no longer, I'll no longer play a fool I learned, I sure learned the lesson from you I learned that people, people, they are fake They lie and cheat, they lie cheat steal kill and take Caring for nothing, nothing but their own sake Not giving a damn if your heart breaks And leaving a trail of dead in their wake And I hate, I hate to admit I was wrong But you were nothing, you were nothing all along And you'll be nothing, you are nothing, you'll get your due Cause even nothing, even nothing's something too You were my nightmare come true I sure learned my lesson from you Now something tells me I've got to see you again Something tells me it might be a sin There's something about the pain you've brought That makes me only want to see you rot And now I'm dying to give you all I've got The anger hurt hatred, the whole lot And so what I say if I'd better not I'm dying to teach the lesson you taught © Matt Clark

One of Coheed's lesser-known songs, but one of my favorites. The ending is KILLER!

My entry for the Rocksmith and Epiphone YouTube Contest... I play Unnatural Selection and clips from Number Thirteen, Plug in Baby, Islands, California Brain, 6am Salvation, Freebird, Bohemian Rhapsody, Don't Fear the Reaper, Smoke on the Water, Space Oddity, Sunshine of Your Love, and Symphony of Destruction. I've been playing guitar for 22 years and often dreamed that one day something like Rocksmith would appear. Rather than working with tabs on paper and fussing with amp settings to get the right tone, Rocksmith puts the tabs right on the screen, plays the audio track along with it, and provides an authentic tone so your guitar can sound just like the original recording. Rocksmith also provides other great features like Riff Repeater, so you can learn songs section by section at your own pace. I often think about how well I would play now if Rocksmith had been available when I began playing guitar. I know I would be a much more advanced guitarist, and I would have progressed much quicker. I absolutely recommend Rocksmith to anyone interested in playing guitar. In my opinion, Rocksmith is the best guitar learning tool ever produced.

Three in the Beginning I didn't know a thing watched the Time fly by, whatever the Day brings Life was free and new, Infinite the things to do but Darkness killed the Light and there began my fright with these three Paths to take, which decision should I make we are Three, all we can and cannot see what's on top and underneath, and everything in between Darkness approaches me, confused I cannot see then Day breaks through the Night, but will I see the Light if I tried with all my might, would I be doing what is right Night divides the Day, never caring what I say that is just the Way; in the End we die by Ourselves Day breaks through the Night, and there's no end in sight be it Wrong or be it Right in the End we die by Ourselves in the End we die by Ourselves on the Way of finding Words to say and falling on my face taking Steps I can't retrace resolved to learn the Truth that eluded me in my Youth I learned it's all the Same, the only Difference is the Name and it's been ugly but now I know the Direction I should go Day destroys the Night, and She don't think it's right revenge is in her Sight, in the Morning while He's sleeping if He should arise, and open up her Eyes they'll see the grand Surprise in the End the Three become One in the End the Three become One © Matt Clark

This is the introduction of Claudio & Peter David by Steven (from Steven's Untitled Rock Show on Fuse) and part 1 of the question/answer session after the book reading (which I didn't record). Sorry if the camera is a bit shaky or if the audio is a little off in places, but overall I'd say these videos came out pretty good.
