Five Bite Diet Beginning In the early part of Dr. Lewis’ career, he was confronted with treating patients who had a variety of illnesses or conditions, however, as time went by, Dr. Lewis realized many of these conditions could be related to, attributed to or were influenced by excess weight or obesity. As Dr. Lewis relates in this video, the Five-Bite Diet came into existence after he experimented with various weight loss strategies for his patients. Due to his familiarity with gastric bypass surgery, he observed how gastric bypass patients were able to lose weight rapidly due to their restricted food intake, yet remain healthy and active. He applied his observations to a non-surgical weight loss solution that became the Five Bite Diet. Following this and with the tremendous success his weight loss patients experienced, he wrote the definitive 5 Bite Diet book “Why Weight Around?” The goal of weight loss is not only to look and feel better, but to help prevent a host of metabolic diseases that can be attributed to excess weight.
