Can peanut allergies be avoided by early exposure?

03:42
Recent research suggests that some exposure early on to peanut products might be helpful in reducing the risks of later peanut allergies. If you're allergic to peanuts, or have a child that's allergic, you'll know how serious a condition it is. For years, parents have been advised to keep infants away from peanut products. But according to this latest study, that might not be the best strategy. 01. Buteyko Body Oxygen Test (Buteyko Breathing Technique)

08:31
The Buteyko body oxygen test - Find out how you can easily measure your body oxygen content using a stress-free breath holding time test. This is the main test of the Buteyko breathing technique, while the video provides a precise and simple description of this breath holding test. It is also called the Buteyko CP or Control Pause. The Buteyko test is done after usual expiration and only until the first signs of stress or discomfort. Learn about breath holding time test results in healthy and sick people based on tens of western studies and experience of Soviet and Russian medical doctors practicing the Buteyko breathing method. These Buteyko doctors tested thousands of people in the USSR and Russia and this Buteyko test became the practical foundation of the Buteyko Table of Health Zones. Doctor Buteyko and his medical colleagues (over 180 doctors) tested more than 100,000 patients and found that the following relationships are generally true for the Buteyko body oxygen test: 1-10 s - critically and terminally ill patients, usually hospitalized 10-20 s - most sick patients with numerous complaints and, often, on daily medical drugs 20-40 s - most normal people and people with poor health, but often without serious organic problems. 40-60 s - good health (no chronic diseases). Over 60 s - ideal health, with short sleep, very high energy levels, and amazing clarity of mind. DR. CHIL-YONG KANG | Concordia University Lecture Series on HIV/AIDS

01:04:20
Search for the HIV Vaccine: One of the most challenging problems in infectious diseases The Concordia University Community Lecture Series on HIV/AIDS presents: Dr. Chil-Yong Kang, Virologist, Western University Thursday October 30th 2014 You’re invited to the first edition of he 22nd Annual Concordia University Community Lecture Series on HIV/AIDS featuring Dr. Chil-Yong Kang of the Schulich School of Medicine. He will be speaking on his research into the HIV vaccine, now entering Phase II of human trials. The vaccine, SAV001-H, and its developer, Dr. Kang, have made headlines internationally as this cost effective Canadian invention will likely alter the course of the HIV epidemic which has claimed 36 million lives with another 35 million living with the virus. Dr. Kang will explore the challenges associated with the development of an HIV vaccine as well as explore potential impacts. SAV001-H is the first preventive HIV vaccine using a killed or "dead version" of HIV-1 virus. It is widely believed that this previously risky approach is the only biomedical way forward in terms of a vaccine. What are the differences between the vaccine and other preventative mechanisms and how does this development differentially affect the multiple faces of the epidemic? Training under Nobel Laureate Dr. Howard Temin, Dr. Kang has himself received numerous prizes that recognize his achievements in virology, such as the Order of Korea in Science and Technology (2002), and the Lifetime Achievement Award from Western University (2009). Part 1. Dr. Carolyn Dean: Death by Sugar on The Dini Petty Show. Dec 11, 1990

08:37
This show proved to be a pivotal transition point in my career. After this show, a sugar lobby group complained to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario that I was saying bad things about sugar. The College, who is supposed to protect the public, actually upheld the lobbyist complaint and admonished me for speaking out about sugar! Yes, that's right folks. I was a whistle blower on sugar and I was too dangerous to be allowed to continue. The College then sent a young man as a plant into my office. He denounced me for "not giving him a homeopathic remedy on his first visit for his allergies." Yes, if I'd given him a remedy on his first visit, I'm sure that would have been his complaint! Finally, in 1995 after I had gone to New York to do AIDS research, without me being "invited" to the trial, my license...which I dropped in 1994...was stolen from me, to send a message to any other doctors who practiced alternative medicine. However, the silver lining for me was that it kept me out of mainstream and the compromises and soul destruction that would ensue. I began writing and consulting and now have over 30 books published, a huge website following, an 2-year online wellness program and published patents on revolutionary new health products. I would never have been able to accomplish all that I have and reached the many people that I have if I were still practicing medicine in an office. See my whole story in my Kindle edition of Death by Modern Medicine: Seeking Safe Solutions (and also a chapter called Death by Sugar) and in an article I wrote for NaturalNews.com http://www.naturalnews.com/032229_medical_monopoly_allopathic_medicine.html This is the way lobby groups, drug companies and allopathic medicine "controls" doctors who don't follow the standard practice of medicine: drugs and surgery.

It's bad for you, except when it's good for you. That's the sum total of what many people know about cholesterol. And it's just one such dietary consideration that people are told to watch out for even as they're not sure exactly what it is. The Agenda welcomes Dr. John Sievenpiper, a University of Toronto nutritional sciences professor, to help clear up confusing and even seemingly contradictory facts about cholesterol.

HPV Vaccine Gardasil Has A Dark Side, Star Investigation Finds

04:13
HPV vaccine Gardasil has a dark side, Star investigation finds Although hundreds of thousands of girls in Canada have safely taken Gardasil, at least 60 Canadians experienced debilitating illnesses after inoculation. By: David Bruser News Reporter, Jesse McLean Investigative News reporter, Staff Reporters, Published on Thu Feb 05 2015 Kaitlyn Armstrong says the nurses giving her the HPV vaccine ignored her when she said she was allergic to metal. Gardasil's manufacturer says the vaccine should not be given to anyone with hypersensitivity to its ingredients, which include aluminum salts. zoom By the time Kaitlyn Armstrong received her third and final injection of the popular HPV vaccine Gardasil, pain had spread through the Whitby teen’s body, migrating from her back to her knees to her hips. After her first dose, Natalie Kenzie of London developed egg-size lumps on the soles of her feet, her joints swelled and her limbs twitched uncontrollably. Before getting the shots, both 13-year-old girls were told the vaccine had no significant risks. And as they struggled to learn what ailed them, and began to believe Gardasil played a role, doctors dismissed their concerns. Hundreds of thousands of teenage girls in Canada have received the vaccine’s three doses, the vast majority without incident. Regulators, including Health Canada and the FDA in the United States, cite comprehensive clinical trials and other data that show the vaccine’s well-studied safety and efficacy. But since 2008 at least 60 girls and women in Canada have convulsed or developed disabling joint and muscle pain and other debilitating conditions after receiving Gardasil. One needed a wheelchair, another a feeding tube. A 14-year-old Quebec girl, Annabelle Morin, died two weeks after receiving the second injection of the vaccine.

Osteoarthritis | moxibustion knee oa

04:00
http://www.arthritistreatmentcenter.com Here’s another complementary medicine that might work for knee osteoarthritis… Arthritis Knee Pain Eased by Chinese Med Nancy Walsh writing for MedPage Today reported the traditional Chinese medicine practice of moxibustion was effective in reducing pain and improving function among patients with knee osteoarthritis, a randomized clinical trial found. After 6 weeks of thrice-weekly sessions of moxibustion, in whichthe herb Artemisia vulgaris is burned in a small device placed near knee acupuncture sites, pain scores decreased from 6.69 to 3.03 among patients receiving the active treatment, compared with a decrease from 6.27 to 4.56 in patients receiving a sham treatment, according to Xueyong Shen, of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and colleagues. In addition, physical function difficulty scores decreased from 33.4 to 16.43 and from 30.99 to 21.70 in the active treatment and sham groups, respectively (P=0.015), the researchers reported in Arthritis Research and Therapy. Moxibustion is a modality that has been used by acupuncturists for thousands of years and has been considered effective for relief of arthritic pain. But previous studies of this treatment have been of poor quality, so Shen and colleagues undertook a trial intended to be rigorously blinded and controlled, using the standard outcome measure of the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities' Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC). They enrolled 110 patients who had radiologically confirmed osteoarthritis. Only patients who had never before received moxibustion were included, so they would have no expectations about sensations experienced during the procedure, and they were told that the device used had been recently developed and they might or might not feel any heat during the procedure. Patients' mean age was 65, and two-thirds were women. In the majority of cases, both knees were affected. They were allowed to continue on their baseline pain medications throughout. Just how moxibustion might influence the arthritic joint remains unclear, but may involve factors including heat, odor, and smoke. "Moxibustion might play a role similar to that of acupuncture stimulation, although its effect on the sensory nerve would be more superficial," Shen and colleagues wrote. Comment: It’s certainly worth a try. Seems safe. http://youtu.be/PgV7omIkZhE

Drivers stoned on marijuana test their driving skills

05:15
If you watched this video and liked Addy, you can watch outtakes of her here: http://kiro.tv/WFNEMZ CNN may have just posted their best piece of investigative journalism in years. In the following video, three drivers of varying ages got incredibly high on marijuana and test-drove cars around a course. A driving-ed instructor accompanied them to avert any chance of an accident, and police watched from the sidelines to spot any visible 'signs' of inebriation in their movements. The volunteers -- a young daily smoker, adult weekend smoker and elder infrequent smoker -- proceeded to test escalating levels of stupor against the new baseline 'legal limits' in Colorado and Washington state. They had to reach excesses of 5 times the legal limit before their ability to drive became impaired. In most cases, the danger they presented was driving too slowly or with frequent hesitations. Although hardly scientific, this test does offer some insight into a specter which has haunted us for years: marijuana legalization. Last November, the country watched tame and good-natured celebrations sweep Colorado and Washington after their pro-marijuana ballot passed. The sudden and complete lack of tension between public smokers and police was wonderful to see; it was like two opposing armies finally laying arms to rest. It was as if a part of America had leapt into a progressive future, giving the rest of us a glimpse into what might be. Could anyone deny that this was a microcosm of the future most have been waiting for? Despite resounding state level calls to end to the war on drugs, the DEA and federal government still loom overhead with murky legal gray zones. When asked by Barbara Walters what his current stance on the issue was, Obama said he would not make it a priority to go after recreational users in states that have passed legalization initiatives. This evasive, political response is to be expected: we aren't permitting drugs, but we won't fight the states on the issue. Perhaps it would be too much to ask for the president to fully legalize marijuana and end an obscene prohibition that imprisons millions of Americans. But if the political PR can be ignored, it is undoubtedly the right thing to do. For now, maybe the best tactic is to keep harassing citizens federally, so they demand protection from their states and take the issue off Obama's plate. So back to our drivers, and the issue many mothers are now concerned about: children having a new intoxicant to afflict their driving skills. How did the 'impaired' volunteers actually do? Well at a certain point, the substance had an undeniable effect on their ability to navigate a vehicle sensibly. But they all maintained surprising control, even at incredibly excessive levels of marijuana consumption. Moreover, unlike drunk drivers, they were very much aware of their state and agreed they were not on top of their game. Without over-indulging, it seems people's critical thinking can be trusted more with a few hits than a couple of drinks. When it comes to marijuana in America, there's still a long road ahead to change laws, perceptions and behavior. But it's progress worth making, as long as it gets us away from misinformed stereotypes like this.

Lawsuit Tactics in NY: Have I Ever Changed My Theory of Liability During Deposition? http://www.oginski-law.com/library/why-must-i-get-medical-expert-to-promise-me-something-.cfm NY Medical Malpractice & Personal Injury Lawyer Gerry Oginski Explains 516-487-8207 Email: Gerry@Oginski-Law.com "What's your theory of liability?" the defense attorney asks. I tell him. It's also contained in our bill of particulars. That's a document that itemizes exactly what we believe the doctor did wrong and what injuries my client suffered as a result of his carelessness. Someone asked me recently if I ever changed my theory of liability in a medical malpractice case. The answer is yes, I have. But only during the doctor's deposition...his pretrial testimony. Never during a trial. Here was the case... Patient was to have elective orthopedic surgery. He was going to get regional anesthesia involving an injection. The moment the anesthesiologist injected the anesthesia into the patient, he went into cardiac arrest. He was finally revived and spent days in the cardiac care unit. His surgery was obviously cancelled. We believed he was given an injection of lidocaine, which he was allergic to. Our theory of liability is that he never should have received the lidocaine. We claimed the administration of lidocaine caused his cardiac arrest. We were wrong, but didn't know it at the beginning of the case. I only learned the details during my questioning of the anesthesiologist who gave the patient this medication. Watch the video to learn more... Here's a cardiac malpractice case where I was able to achieve a $6 million dollar settlement for my client: http://www.oginski-law.com/video/cardiac-malpractice-in-ny.cfm To learn more about how accident & medical malpractice cases work in the state of New York, I encourage you to explore my educational website, ‪http://www.oginski-law.com/library/why-must-i-get-medical-expert-to-promise-me-something-.cfm If you have legal questions and your matter happened here in New York and you're thinking about bringing a lawsuit, I invite you to pick up the phone and call me at 516-487-8207 or by email at Gerry@Oginski-Law.com. 5 Vegan Travel Tips - Collab w/ The Edgy Veg

09:22
Being a vegan and/or vegetarian can be tricky, especially when you travel. Here are tips for sticking to a vegan or vegetarian diet for your next trip. ∥↠ SUBSCRIBE FOR ADVENTURE..IT'S FREE: http://bit.ly/1258Cu2 ↞ ∥ Read more about vegan travel on my blog: http://www.hopscotchtheglobe.com/5-tips-for-staying-vegan-while-traveling Check out the video we did on Candice's Channel: https://youtu.be/S7VwBICuBxM Subscribe to The Edgy Veg: http://bit.ly/1TZma0N I've recently been trying to live a more vegan lifestyle. For the past 6 years, I've been a vegetarian/pescatarian (meaning I'll eat fish at times). As a full-time traveller, this can be difficult, but with practise and time, I've been able to learn some ways to make travelling as a non-meat eater that much more easier. In this video, I teamed up with my friend and long-time vegan Candice of The Edgy Veg, to share our tips for staying vegan while traveling. Tip #1 - Do Your Research Research the areas you are interested in travelling to ahead of time. There are many countries that are vegan and vegetarian friendly. I've travelled to many countries where I found eating a vegetarian diet to be fairly easy. This is especially true in countries with tropical climates that allow for delicious fruits and vegetables to be grown year round. Tip #2 - Bring Snacks This tip is a good one to follow even before you head to the airport. Let's face it, airplane food is definitely not the most vegetarian and vegan friendly. This is especially true for the breakfasts and snacks that are served. That's why I always bring my own snacks with me on every flight. Right now, my go-to favourite snacks are Hemp Bites, which contain the protein, omega-3 and omega-6's that I need to keep me going when I'm feel tired and lacking energy. There are also damn tasty! I also like to bring nut butters with me which also give me a boost of energy when I need it. Candice likes to throw a few meal bars or vegan protein powder in her purse as well. Tip #3 - Stay at a Place that has a Kitchen Staying in places that include a personal or communal kitchen will allow you to cook your own meals. Many hostels, guest houses and Airbnb offer access to a kitchen as part of the fee per night. Tip #4 - Learn Key Phrases I always suggest learning some key phrases in the local language of the country you're visiting. As a vegetarian/vegan, it's important to also learn key phrases that will help you when dining. It's even more important to be specific with your words. Instead of learning, "I don't eat meat," you can learn to say, "I don't eat chicken, beef, pork or fish." There have been several times when I've told a server that I don't eat meat, and she's brought me something with chicken or fish in it. Her response, "There is no meat in this dish. Only chicken." I guess chicken isn't considered meat in some places... I would also suggest learning how to say, "I'm allergic to..." If you tell a server or cook that you are allergic to meat or dairy, the situation will be taken more seriously. Tip #5 - Learn Substitutions It's also a great idea to learn substitution words in the language of the country you're visiting. For example, instead of using chicken in a dish, maybe they can use tofu or mushrooms. Instead of fish sauce, maybe soy sauce can be used, etc... ✈ Want to travel the world and make kick ass travel videos? Evil Fentanyl from Mexico Canada Usa Made

11:14
Evil Fentanyl from Mexico Canada Usa Made Fentanyl is too much can't be from China a lie not proven FACEBOOK: JASON KENNEY SUCH A LIAR NOT PROVEN. Jason Kenney March 2 at 2:04pm · Apologies in advance for the long post, but it's on an important issue. On Wednesday, I was asked by the Lethbridge Herald for my views on ‘safe’ drug injection/consumption sites in our communities. It seems I’ve yet-again angered the NDP with my common-sense answer. We absolutely need to show compassion for those suffering with addiction, and we need to help them get off drugs. But helping addicts inject poison into their bodies is not a long-term solution to the problem. With regard to the current opioid crisis, it’s often missed that the vast majority of these toxic drugs are being produced in factories in China, where they seem to operate with impunity. The real question is how these synthetic, foreign-produced drugs are hitting the streets of Alberta? Why isn’t the federal government massively increasing resources for the Canadian Border Services Agency to interdict these poisons? Why isn’t our federal government demanding that the Chinese government crack down on these factories? Why aren't we giving the police adequate resources to chase down those who are dealing these drugs on our streets in our communities? Where were the resources in this week’s federal budget? Instead, governments are spending money to help addicts consume this poison. In the news today, we learn that the Alberta NDP is funding a project to provide addicts with taxpayer-funded drugs to inject themselves with (https://tinyurl.com/ycnvyxqq). That’s right, our current government will be providing drug addicts with prescription grade drugs. For over a decade, we’ve been told that we just need to ensure that addicts do drugs ‘safely.’ In that time, do you think the crisis of addiction has been getting better or worse? Nearly every day we hear heart wrenching stories about families devastated by drug use. Enabling someone to commit slow motion suicide – to throw their life away – is not compassion. We need to crack down on the criminals that are bringing poison into our communities. And we need to invest in actual treatment programs to get addicts off drugs – not spend money to help them consume drugs. We cannot ignore the crisis in our communities. But helping addicts do drugs is not part of the solution.

When film technician Jock Brandis discovered cotton being grown in traditionally food-bearing fields in a village in southern Mali, he decided to do something about it. He observed to villagers that growing cotton would rob their soil of nitrogen, and suggested they plant peanuts either around the cotton plants or in rotation with cotton. Peanuts have several advantages. They fix nitrogen in the soil; they are more profitable; and they're rich in protein. But the problem, they replied, is husking them by hand. Jock promised he would return with a machine, but discovered that no small-scale machine exists. So he set about designing one that local people could build on the spot and fix themselves. The film follows Jock and his set of fiberglass molds back to Mali, where he worked with local villagers to perfect and manufacture their own hand-operated peanut husker. Produced at a material cost of approximately $10, for concrete and steel, each machine is easily capable of husking 100 pounds of peanuts per hour. Ibrahim Togola, the head of the Mali Folkecenter for Renewable Energy, sees the peanut-sheller as appropriate technology that villagers can master, and use to improve their own communities. As word spreads about the invention, there are plans for thousands of the machines to be manufactured and used not only in Mali, but across the globe..." "...
