It seems that every “expert” says something that makes sense and yet CONTRADICTS another “expert”, right?... So, for most people the topic of weight loss typically leads to confusion and frustration. I know this because I’ve been on some kind of “diet” since age 11, in the 6th grade. I’ve literally tried it all, multiple times. However, today’s topic is going to be weight loss based on your BODY TYPE, which is one factor that can determine your metabolism. Other factors such as “metabolic type” come into play as well, which I’ll quickly cover at the end of today’s video. This is important because it’s based on your genetics and hormone profile - which is one the most important factors when it comes to weight loss, how you look and feel. One other thing before I start -- your goal should NOT be to lose “weight”. … It should be about losing FAT, especially those stubborn areas such as belly, arms and legs. What’s Your Body Type? So there are 3 “somatotypes” or “body” types. Most people are not 100% of either, but usually a blend. Ectomorph The ectomorph is typically “tall and skinny”. They have small joints, narrow hips and shoulders and long limbs. Partly due to their fast metabolism, they have a hard time gaining weight or adding muscle to their tiny frame. Basketball players for example are typically ectomorphs, as are models. Ectomorphs can typically eat a lot more food, especially carbohydrates. In fact, they have better glucose metabolism and blood sugar levels, which allows them to consume more carbohydrates WITHOUT getting fat. Generally they also have faster metabolisms because of higher thyroid levels. For these “lucky” people, they don’t need to lose much weight. They typically just want to lose a little fat around the belly and upper legs for women. They want to “tighten” up Your diet should be about 50% carbs, 25% protein, 25% fats. You can have more carbs because your body just burns through it quickly for energy. When trying to lose a little fat, you should reduce your calories, but NOT by much. However you should also add in some exercise about 3-4x weekly. Keep the workouts short and intense, about 30-45 minutes. Not much is needed. In fact, your best form of exercise is lifting weights to tone up and keep your shape. Mesomorph These body types tend to have the best “athletic” genetics. They have the “perfect” metabolism for gaining muscle and losing fat. They are typically fitness models or bodybuilders, wide-receivers in football for example. They have wide shoulders, narrow hips and lots of muscle and strength, with less body fat. You need balance when it comes to fat loss. Your diet should be about 40% carbs, 40% protein, 20% fat. I would keep this ratio and simply reduce total calories. Your need both carbs and protein because of your metabolism and extra muscle. I would also add in exercise. BOTH aerobic cardio and anaerobic weight lifting, in equal amounts. Endomorph Finally we have the “big boned” endomorph who requires the most attention to detail when it comes to fat loss. You tend to be more “stocky”. Narrow shoulders, wide hips. Usually shorter, thick arms and legs. You have muscle, but more fat than the 2 other body types. You have a slower metabolism and typically don’t digest carbs well. Your blood sugar shoots up too much and converts the food into fat and because of this, you need to eat less carbohydrates. So your diet should be about 25% carbs, 50% protein and 25% fat. Make sure you have lots of vegetables and fiber, very little simple carbs. Today we’re talking about fat loss for the different body types and how this specifically applies to female fat loss goals. Before we get started it’s important to identify the fact that there are three main body types. Depending on what body type you are, it’s going to impact how you gain weight, how you lose weight, and what your body ends up looking like to reach your specific goals. So, everyone is born with an inherited skeletal structure and body composition. A lot of nutritionists, trainers, doctors, and other healthcare professions will actually use this information about your body type or somatotype to help guide you in creating a customized meal plan, training regimen and adapting these things about your specific body type and shape to help you reach your goals. So, lets break down the three body types. There are mesomorphs, endomorphs and ectomorphs. Most people may not perfectly fit into one category, you might be a combination of both. But, for the most part you can place yourself primarily in one category to help give us tools and extra things that are going to guide how to support your fitness goals. For example, we’re going to start with the case of the endomorph. Very classic case of the endomorph is somebody with a Kim Kardashian body type. Endomorphs tend to have a smooth round body, large to medium bone structure, small shoulders and shorter limbs. They tend to cover their weight in the lower abdomen, hips and thighs instead of being evenly distributed throughout the body. Endomorphs have a difficult time losing fat with diet alone so a well rounded fitness program is important. If you’re an endomorph you can’t be one of the people who can just diet your way to success. The training is going to have a very big impact on your physique. If you’re an endomorph. But did you know based on your body type you can actually determine the right diet to maintain a healthy weight? Body of different types tend to store fat in different places. Knowing where your fat stored on your body can help you fill your plate with foods that work best to shed a few pounds off and keep you healthy. 1. Rectangle Body Type If you have a rectangle body shape, it is categorized by narrow hips and an undefined waist. Even though you do not gain weight easily, yet it’s still important to keep a healthy diet. With this, you need to include plant-based proteins and healthy fats such as avocado, almonds and salmon into your diet. Skip the sugary treats and fast food and add more olive oil, nuts, lean protein and complex carbs to your diet, such as fruits, veggies and beans. 2. Apple Body Type If you have an apple body shape, you can find more weight targeted around your midsection. To remove the midsection body fats, you should eat smaller meals 5 to 6 times a day to maintain your metabolism up. Weight Loss Tips Based on Your Body Type Hourglass The hourglass figure tends to be the most desired body shape because those with this figure gain weight evenly throughout their body. Should favour impact sports that require high speed and low to medium resistance that involve both upper and lower body. Isolated Exercises like arm/ leg push-outs, bending exercises and arm/ leg curls along with whole-body workouts like swimming, jumping rope, Fast walking etc. are preferred Should avoid jogging, step classes, high impact exercises which add bulk to your muscles Should eat lean high quality protein like chicken, fish etc., non-starchy vegetables, leafy greens and fruits Rectangle Rectangle body have similar measurements for their shoulders, waist, and hips—basically, no curves. Most skinny people tend to have this body type, and when they do gain weight, it's usually in the belly. Favour exercises that requires long and sustained aerobic movements - without weights until you reach your ideal weight. Do a stretching routine before and after any workouts, and - most of all - do not skip the abdominal exercises to flatten stomach. Should eat high quality protein like chicken, beans, complex carbs like fruits, non-starchy vegetables and brown rice. Good omega 3 sources like salmon, flaxseed oil, olive oil help you to burn more body fats. Inverted triangle Inverted triangle shaped bodies, also referred to as top heavy body types, tend to have broad shoulders and they're prone to storing fat on the upper half of their body. Favor quick, short movements with low resistance for your upper body and focus more on high resistance on your lower body and abdomen to strengthen. Add some lower body mass, and improve the proportion of your body shape. Should opt for complex versus instead of carbohydrates. Trade your white rice and potatoes for quinoa and oats. Fresh vegetables (particularly leafy greens) are good for you. You should eliminate high fat cheeses and processed foods—particularly the bloat-inducing, salty ones. Triangle/ Pear People with a pear body shape tend to carry most of their weight in the lower portions of their body, which is mostly subcutaneous fat. Favor any movements that require lower body flexibility, strength, and coordination, with absolutely NO resistance or weights. Avoid extensive exercises of lower body like skating, long distance running or high-impact aerobics. Should opt for high fiber, lower fat diet with an adequate balance of lean protein because it's much easier to burn carbohydrates than it is fat. Include several servings of whole grains, like quinoa, brown rice, and whole grain bread, throughout the day. Avoid non-organic and processed meats that may contain unnecessary hormones. Avoid extra calcium and alcohol too. Apple People with an apple body shape tend to carry most of their weight around the belly area but have a slimmer lower body. Visceral fat causes many health risks like an increased risk of heart disease, cancers, diabetes etc. Favor leg exercises like squats and deadlifts, pressing movements such as the bench press and overhead press, jumping, and sprinting. Opt for whole-body exercises those induces fat-burning and muscle-gaining tendencies. Due to irregular insulin levels caused by abdominal fat, a low glycemic diet has been proven to be most beneficial for weight loss. Eat foods such as green vegetables, most fruits, kidney beans, chickpeas, lentils, and bran cereals. Cut out foods such as white bread, pastas, rice, pastries, cookies, and candies. Simply meaning that the best weight loss diet or the best diet for abs for example is the one that you can adhere to the best. However, weight loss is one thing and fat loss is a whole other variable which is MUCH more important when it comes to improving your physique. When it comes to optimizing the best fat loss diet, you need to pay attention to how much protein,fats, and carbs you're ingesting on a daily basis. I go through how to optimize each of these factors to create the best fat burning diet in my video. I also show a daily nutrition/meal plan (full day of eating) for fat loss with various examples/macros of what I personally eat on a daily basis. The problem is there is very weak science if any. Try to track down their research, it leads no where. There is four blood types (Type A, B, AB and O). On the surface, it appears to look like there is some technology to it, but there is not. If we look at the science behind the body type, we are looking at endocrinology and how hormone distort your shape. Higher levels of cortisol can cause a condition called Cushing's Syndrome, where the person has a sagging belly. If your liver is damaged, you could get a condition called ascities, which is fluid in a sac that surrounds your midsection. Estrogen dominance tends to put fat around the hips and thighs. If your thyroid is slow, you can gain weight all over. I then used the definition of the word FOOD to use as a starting point because we eat food for both fuel and nutrients. There are two types of fuel, glucose and ketones. Dr. Korde stresses on the importance of knowing our body type, for that helps us to choosing everything in life (diet, lifestyle, sleep patterns, relationships, etc.) It even helps us understand how to manage our weight keeping in mind our body type. Weight management for the Kapha type who is a little on the heavier side is not easy, for he loves his food, eats slowly, and digests and metabolises very slowly as well. For a Pitta type of a person who is neither heavy nor lean but medium built, weight management is not an issue, he eats, digests and eliminates waste effortlessly. The Vata type individual who is usually thin and wiry eats as much as he wants but never seems to gain weight. If a Kapha type wishes to become as lean as a Vata type, it is next to impossible. And even if it is achieved, it is only for a very short duration before the body goes back to its original design. For a Pitta type, body weight doesn't matter, he will retain the same weight because of his active metabolism. The heat in the body melts the fat very fast and whatever is eaten is digested and metabolized very fast as well. Many other choices are determined by our body type. Sleep is an example. A Kapha type would require more amount of sleep and if he controls the amount of sleep, he won't put on more weight. Eating habits are also determined by the body type, Kapha type should have eating habits that are a little different to the Pittas and Vatas. The Kapha type is advised to have a couple of glasses of warm water before a meal, for this helps in its digestion. The Pitta type is advised to take a little ghee, which is cooling, to regulate the digestive fire. And the Vata type is advised to eat a lot of sweets...

You have the adrenal type, the thyroid type, the ovary type and the liver type. But there is one more, it's the pancreas type, which is pumping out too much insulin because this person has insulin resistance. The best way to look at this is to look at what TRIGGERED your body type before you developed your body shape or type. Lets take the liver body type - this could come from alcohol, medications, and even a virus. But you can also have a liver body type that is triggered from non-alcoholic fatty liver disease triggered from insulin resistance, so the pancreas can cause the liver body type. The pancreas type can also cause the adrenal body type, if the trigger is sugar or freq. eating, however, if it's stress as a trigger, then the high cortisol can release insulin and create belly fat that make its impossible to determine from the outside if the person has the pancreas or adrenal body type until you talk to the person and dig into their history. If they have the ovary type, and you find out from their history that they were exposed to higher levels of estrogen - birth control pills or even pregnancy, then we know the trigger is estrogen. The thyroid is usually secondary to either high estrogen or liver problems. The big question is WHAT happens before you ended up with your shape. You need a clue: -stress -sugar -medication -virus -pregnancy -alcohol Cortisol, estrogen and insulin are fat making hormones and they dominate other hormones. This is why the thyroid and liver are usually secondary to other body types. Insulin is a fat storage hormone and it is directly linked too fat loss. If you want to burn fat the fastest way to do it is by controlling and lowering your insulin levels. Insulin is released to control your blood sugar by shuttling glucose into your muscles and your liver to be used for energy. When your insulin levels are hi your body cannot burn fat. In fact It has no need to burn fat because your body can get plenty of energy from the glucose thats in your bloodstream that triggered the insulin to be released to begin with. The worst part is that not only does insulin block fat loss but it also causes the body to store excess glucose as fat. However all hope is not lost you have another hormone known as glucagon that pretty much has the inverse function. After depleting stored glucose from your muscles and from your liver your blood sugar will begin to drop. When your blood sugar drops too low glucagon can actually raise your blood sugar by converting glycerol in your fat cells into glucose for fuel. Glucagon also signals the fat cells to release free fatty acids in a process known as lipolysis. To put it simply glucagon signals the body to release stored fat to be used as fuel. There are many studies that compare the effects of these two hormones insulin & glucagon. But my favorite is one of the simplest where a group of researchers studied the effects of these two hormones on rats. The study was published in the Journal of Comparative & Physiological Psychology In this study half of the rats where injected with insulin & the other half were injected with glucagon. The rats that received the insulin gained body fat & ate more. The rats that received the glucagon lost body fat. Now nobody's going to be injecting you with glucagon but there are ways that you could naturally lower your insulin levels & increase your glucagon levels through diet. And these 3 diets that I'm about to go over do exactly that in the most effective way. As long as blood sugar is available your body will preferentially burn that for fuel over fat. So what is the best way to lower blood sugar in the shortest amount of time? The answer is our first dye method that we're going to go over & that's fasting. There is no better way to lower insulin levels & lower blood sugar levels then not eating at all. Now I'm not advocating for you to starve because that usually leads to a binge which leads to a very high spike in blood sugar & insulin storing any kind of fat that you might have lost right back if not more. But I do highly recommend that you try a couple simple fasting approaches such as intermittent fasting which involves a 16 hour fast followed by an 8 Hour feeding window. A little bit of a more advanced version of fasting would be a 20-hour fast followed by a four hour feeding period this is typically referred to as The Warrior Diet. And even more advanced than that would be the one meal a day diet where you would fast for the entire day & only eat one meal. After that comes your longer-duration fasts where you don't eat anyting for 2 to 7 days. Although I don't recommend these for beginners fasting for longer durations is scientifically proven to be the most effective way to lower blood sugar & insulin levels while simultaneously increasing glucagon levels. Meaning there is no other diet approach out there that will lower your insulin & burn fat quite as much as fasting. And this makes perfect sense because even protein can be converted into glucose & can spike your insulin. But if you eat nothing at all the only thing that your body has to work off of for energy after depleting your liver& your muscles of glycogen is stored energy in the form of fat. Again don't worry if you're not willing to not eat for 7 days

Ectomorph? Mesomorph? Endomorph? What body type are you? How to train and eat for your body type? Let's dig into it. In this video, we will talk about the three basic body types namely the Ectomorph, the Mesomorph and the Endomorph. My idea of making this video is that you get to identify which of these body types you fall under and accordingly what kind of workout and what kind of diet is best suited to you. So that you get the best possible results. #1 Body Type - ECTOMORPH - 00:27 Ectomorphs are the typical hardgainers. They tend of narrow shoulders, small frame and overall a skinny look. Ectomorphs find it really difficult to gain weight or put on muscle mass. They naturally have a very low body fat percentage. #2 Body Type - MESOMORPH - 02:30 Mesomorph is probably the best body type to be a part of. They naturally have a symmetrical build, wide shoulders, narrow waist. A mesomorph finds it quite easy to put on muscle. Also they tend to lose body fat quite effectively. Mesomorphs are generally quite muscular and bodybuilding comes naturally to them. #3 Body Type - ENDOMORPH - 03:22 They have a soft round build. They tend to put on fat very easily because of which they generally struggle to lose weight. So these were the 3 basic body types. Now, just because we have talked about three body types, it doesn’t mean that you have to fit completely into one of these. You can easily be a combination of ectomorph and mesomorph or endomorph and mesomorph. But essentially the idea was to help you understand what your body type is. If you add the ketogenic diet, intermittent fasting and body types. There are 4 body types, ovary, liver, adrenal and thyroid. ADRENAL: -Add more protein, add more sleep, keep your potassium higher, more vitamin C food and more cholesterol food (egg yolk). OVARY: -Make sure you do organic to avoid herbacides, non-GMO food, avoid excess estrogen and soy. More cholesterol foods are also recommended because ovary hormones are make from cholesterol. Cruciferous foods and iodine from sea kelp is also recommended. Also try to keep your proteins at 6 ounces. THYROID: -Keep the protein a bit lower - 3 ounces. -Avoid cruciferous vegetables unless you add sea kelp -Add sea kelp to get more iodine -Do intermittent fasting at 1 meal per day LIVER: -Use lower amounts of protein (3 ounces) -Limit the amount the nuts you consume -Add cruciferous vegetables -Go gradual with fats -Lots of vegetables are essential In this video I am going to give you some tips on combining the body types with ketogenic diet and Intermittent Fasting. If you have all three of this together you would really get your body healthy fast. The book that is coming out very soon I know I have been saying that for the year and a half but it is really in the last little phase right now has all these information in detail. I am going to give you a couple of tips from it right now. We are putting this layer of body types over to the ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting just to make it an amazing program. Let’s talk about the adrenal body type first and yes you might be a combination of two, three or four of these but I am not going to get into that in this video. We are just going to talk about what you are going to do if you are an adrenal type. You are going to do ketogenic diet and also intermittent fasting but you are going to go higher with the protein and instead of 3oz. you would do 6 because you are in a breakdown mode of protein you are going to need a little bit more. You also need a little bit more of sleep as stress reduction, you want to do things to bring stress down, you want to go long walks, you give yourself more recovery time, and you probably want to take naps. But try to get a little bit more sleep on that. I always like to use the acupressure tool on my body to get me to wind down a little faster, you can do that as well. Potassium is important for adrenal that means a lot of greens, the electrolyte powder would be good. The potassium helps the adrenal calm down, it is a physiological relaxer mineral for the fight or flight nervous system. You actually need more cholesterol with the adrenal body type because all of the hormones that are produced by the adrenals are made from cholesterol. You don’t want to go low fat at all. Egg yolks are the best, vitamin C foods that’s in the vegetables. DR.
