Because of their limited nutrition, the vegetarians are the one who are most exposed to this problem. How to fix it – Start consuming more peanuts, Swiss chard, lentils, legumes, salmon, tuna, poultry meat and eggs. When is combined with vitamin C your body absorbs iron much faster. Therefore eat food rich in vitamin C among as red peppers, broccoli, cauliflower and kale. 2. Red rush on face and hair loss – This occurs due to lack of vitamin B17 How to fix it – Eat plenty of cooked eggs and avoid fresh ones. How to fix it – Problems like this can be fixed if you consume more asparagus, beets, spinach eggs, beans and chicken meat. 5. In certain studies, Americans has been found to be the #1 population in vitamin D deficiency. Some of the main symptoms of vitamin D deficiency are a weakened immune system, candida or bacterial overgrowth, emotional ups and downs, hormone imbalance, trouble putting on muscle or losing weight, weakened bones or teeth, cancer, heart disease, or diabetes. Vitamin D supports having a healthy immune response, digestive health, hormone balance, and more. The biggest causes of vitamin D deficiency are not getting enough sunlight, certain chemicals from plastic bottles (bpa), and toxicity. Try to get outside everyday for about 20-30 minutes of natural sunlight. Certain foods that are sources of vitamin D are wild caught fish, raw fermented milk, mushrooms, and eggs. However, there are small amounts in the food you eat. For a good supplement, I would recommend a high quality vitamin D supplement. You don’t want to take vitamin D2, but you do want to take vitamin D3. For supplementation, take about 2000-5000 IUs a day. However, if you have a severe deficiency, then for 1-2 months, you may take 5000 IUs twice daily. Lastly, you want to take your vitamin D3 with some form of fat like coconut oil or avocado to help absorption in your body. Coconut oil has many health benefits that are well-documented. However, one recently discovered benefit is that coconut oil can help treat symptoms of hypothyroidism, or an under-active thyroid. It is recommended that you use extra virgin coconut oil for the best health benefits. One tablespoon of extra virgin coconut oil should be consumed daily. It can be added to hot beverages, such as tea or coffee, and added to daily cooking, drizzled over a salad or added to a smoothie. Today’s video will discuss health issues that coconut oil can help treat. 1. Metabolism When the body’s thyroid is under-active, it can cause the body to feel fatigued and without energy. The fatty acids in coconut oil help the fats in the body convert to energy. This, in turn, boosts the body’s metabolic rate. 2. Weight Loss One of the most major symptoms of an under-active thyroid is unexplained weight gain. The weight is very hard to lose and the thyroid hormones directly slow down the body’s metabolism. Just a few topical treatments for your dog's itchy winter skin. Besides the coconut oil, vitamin E, oatmeal and apple cider vinegar, you can also combat your dog's dry skin from the inside. In addition to feeding your dog yogurt, you could try giving him/her a tablespoon or two (depending on size) of olive or coconut oil in the food 3x a week. Both are nutritious oils that will help the skin maintain its moisture level. I wouldn't give it more often otherwise you dog may gain weight. Each oil contains about 120 calories per tablespoon and while that may not sound like a lot for you or me it can be a significant amount for smaller dogs in particular. The appearance of eczema, irritation, or similar skin problems means that you could be dangerously low on Vitamin D, also known as the sunshine vitamin. - A sudden change of facial symmetry, watery or dry eyes, and tingling in the facial muscles may mean a person has Bell's palsy. This condition causes muscle weakness or even paralysis on part of the face. It happens if the nerves that control your muscles become swollen, compressed, or inflamed. While it’s gaining in popularity in recent years, not everyone has heard of ghee; it’s a powerhouse of vitamins and acids which promote good health. Ghee is its own unique class of butter. When butter is boiled, milk solids caramelize and are removed. Ghee is the concentrated residue of pure fats that remains. It has a distinct nutty taste, and contains no trace of milk proteins, sugars or water. These are powerful ingredients that really require a good understanding of which work for what skin type. They are supremely nourishing but some facial oils can be drying and straight up astringent, while others are pore clogging or cause skin irritation, sometimes severe. Continue to keep in mind that we all have different skin and the ability to tolerate different ingredients. The categories are SIMPLE guidelines for you. A lot of these oils have multiple uses and fall under more than one category like the oils in the anti-aging one which can also be for dry skin, oily skin etc. Since my skin can only tolerate certain oils that many others cannot, rather than featuring the oils I use, I would rather explain what is out there for all skin types. This video is purely to help you recognise ingredients in other oil blends out there or moisturisers. Hopefully this can give you a simple guideline to the oils we hear about and see the most in formulations. If you’re using severely drying treatments like Retin A, Peels, astringent or prescription acne treatments, the right oils can really return the proper moisture back into your skin. Many oils are also great at reducing inflammation and irritation. I can’t stress enough that when buying oils, you are getting what you pay for. Some oils like Argan are so labor intensive, if you find a cheap bottle out there, it’s over processed and diluted with cheap fillers. This is a good, easy, daily reset, using your skin. Your adrenal glands are affected by your nervous system. Your brain has a “fight or flight” response, which is affected by information coming from your senses and tactile nerves below the skin. At any given moment, you’re receiving millions of points of communication from every nerve ending under your skin to your brain. When you have relaxing, soothing, tactile input that’s stimulating the nerves in the right way, it calms your brain. It lowers the “fight or flight” response, diminishing the output of stress hormones. A couple of steps to make this happen are skin brushing and using good, skin moisturizers on a regular basis. There are many benefits to this in terms of regulating your cortisol (so you can sleep better, lose weight easier and have the energy levels you want) and assimilating vitamin D more effectively. Proper amounts of vitamin D have been proven to cut the risk of over 17 cancers, keep your bones strong and your brain healthy. When you’re assimilating nutrients from your skin more effectively, diseases like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s are less common. If these benefits aren’t enough, you will also have better skin, and who doesn’t want that? When your skin looks healthy, you’re unconsciously judged as being healthier and more approachable. Your skin is a very absorptive layer of lipids, so what you put on it goes directly into your bloodstream. Honestly, what you eat has more of a chance of breaking down and changing inside the body than what you put on your skin. There are many skin products that have weird chemicals and preservatives.
