You will not only find a step by step demonstration of how to create a simple, scalable roadmap graphic from scratch but also see some useful applications of the graphic in business presentations. Let us first go to Auto shapes menu and select 'Trapezoid' tool from 'Basic shapes'. Draw the Trapezium shape on the slide and remove outline. Color this shape black and our basic road is ready. To make the road even more attractive let us draw a divider along the middle. For this, use trapezoid shape once again. Adjust the yellow handle along the top edge of the shape, so that the top portion of the trapezium is much narrower than the bottom portion. Color the divider white and remove outline. To divide this divider into small segments let us use small rectangle tool under 'Rectangles' option in auto shapes menu. Draw these rectangles across the divider. Let the width of the rectangles get progressively wider as you approach the foreground to make the graphic look realistic. Once done, remove the outline and color the rectangles black to allow them to merge with the background. Now, when you write relevant text to mark the years your roadmap graphic in PowerPoint gets ready. In this video tutorial you can see a number of applications of Roadmap in PowerPoint. Learn how to make Use Case Diagrams in this tutorial. Both beginners and intermediate UML diagrammers will find all the necessary training and examples on systems, actors, use cases, and include and extend relationships. UML Use Case Diagrams show a system or application; then they show the people, organizations, or other systems that interact with it; and finally, they show a basic flow of what the system or application does. This tutorial explains the four main characteristics of Use Case Diagrams: systems, actors, use cases, and relationships. A system is whatever you’re developing. It could be a website, a software component, a business process, an app, or any number of other things. You represent a system with a rectangle. The next aspect of Use Case Diagrams are actors. An actor is going to be someone or something that uses our system to achieve a goal, and they're represented by a stick figure. Use Cases are elements that really start to describe what the system does. They're depicted with an oval shape and they represent an action that accomplishes some sort of task within the system. The final element in Use Case Diagrams are relationships, which show how actors and use cases interact with each other. There are different types of relationships (like association, include, extend, and generalization) that are represented by varying types of lines and arrows. —— Learn more and sign up: http://www.lucidchart.com Follow us: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/lucidchart Twitter: https://twitter.com/lucidchart Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lucidchart LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/lucidsoftware

In this section we’re going to look at summary tasks and outlining and I’m going to use the wedding project and demonstrate how we can build up the level of detail and the structure of this project. Now I mentioned a couple of times already that the tasks that I currently have in the project, planning, attire, guests, etcetera, are actually high level tasks. They really represent groups of tasks. And what we’re going to start to do now is to break each of those high level tasks, what we’re going to call summary tasks, down into individual tasks or subtasks. By the end of this section we’ll have a much more detailed project. But to get us started I want to look at one particular summary task. Before I really get started I want to point out two things. First of all, if you were doing a breakdown of the tasks involved in a wedding project, particularly if you’re doing it from scratch, you would almost certainly come up with a different breakdown to me. And in fact just about everybody who tries to do this comes out with a different breakdown. So there isn’t a sort of right answer here. It’s important that all of the necessary tasks in the project are represented ultimately in the project plan. But the way you do this breakdown will be a very subjective way indeed. And the second thing to point out is although I’m going to add quite a bit of detail to this wedding project plan I could add a lot more. We’re going to finish up with something of the order of somewhere between say 50 and 100 tasks in total. But if you really were doing this very, very thoroughly there would probably be hundreds and hundreds of tasks. So the task I’m going to breakdown is the Guests task. Now if I select the task underneath it, Venue, and right click on Venue and click on Insert Task I get a new task above Venue and that is actually going to be one of my guests subtasks. It gets a default name. Note new task there between chevron markers. And then default values for duration, etcetera. Now what I’m going to put as the name of that task, I just click in the Entry Bar and type the name in, is Make guest list. So that is my first guest related task. Now the important thing here is that this is actually a subtask of my Guests task. And in order to indicate that it’s a subtask I’m going to demote it in my task hierarchy. There is a button in the Schedule Group on the Task Tab. Let me hover over it and it says Indent Task. And indenting that task automatically demotes it within the hierarchy. Watch what happens when I do that. Now not only does Make guest list get indented and that clearly indicates that it is a subtask of Guests but a number of other things happen as well. One of them is that Guests becomes bold, indicating that it is a summary task. And it also gets a tiny little wedge next to it. Sorry, we couldn't fit the entire video transcription here since YouTube only allows 5000 characters.

http://www.audiomasterclass.com - A comparison between square waves and sine waves of various frequencies, displayed on an oscilloscope, with commentary. TRANSCRIPT I am going to demonstrate the difference in sound texture between a square wave and a sine wave, and show how they become subjectively increasingly similar at higher frequencies. I'll play a signal that alternates between square wave and sine wave, starting at 100 Hz. You will hear the difference clearly. As you can hear, the square wave has a very much brighter and harsher tone, compared to the sine wave, which is very smooth. The levels have been set to the same RMS values, so that both waveforms should be subjectively equally loud. Now I will increase the frequency to 1000 Hz, or 1 kHz. As I continue to increase the frequency I will adjust the timebase control of the oscilloscope so that you can see the shapes of the waveforms clearly. At 1 kHz the square wave and the sine wave still sound very different to each other. I will increase the frequency in 1 kHz steps... 2 kHz 3 kHz 4 kHz At this point you will probably start to hear both waveforms as being very similar, apart from a small difference in level that I will explain in a moment. Let's move more quickly through the frequency range... 6 kHz 8 kHz 10 kHz 12 kHz At this point, both waveforms sound pretty much identical. The reason for this is that the brightness of the square wave is caused by its harmonics. Where a sine wave only has one frequency component - its fundamental - the square wave has the fundamental and harmonics at whole odd-number multiples of the fundamental frequency. So in a 100 Hz square wave, you hear frequency components of 100 Hz, 300 Hz, 500 Hz, 700 Hz, and so on all the way up the frequency band, as you can see in this spectrogram. When we get to a fundamental frequency of 4 kHz however, the next frequency component, which we call the second harmonic is at 12 kHz. Many people can't hear frequencies as high as this. At a fundamental frequency of 8 kHz, the second harmonic is at 24 kHz, which hardly anyone is capable of hearing. It is also worth saying that digital audio sampled at 44.1 kHz which is common can't reproduce 24 kHz either. A sampling rate of 96 kHz was used to make the original recordings here to show on the oscilloscope, to allow a margin of safety. So, as the frequency increases, the harmonics of the square wave become inaudible, leaving only the fundamental, so at a high enough frequency it sounds exactly the same as a sine wave. Finally, let me explain the slight differences in level. Well, if the harmonic components of the square wave are being lost at very high frequencies, the overall level will therefore be a little lower. You might also notice some ringing in the square wave signal. This is probably being created by filtering in the digital-to-analog convertor. The ringing frequency is around 46 kHz, so it is well above the audio band. The oscilloscope, by the way, is specified up to 20 MHz, so we can expect it to be completely clean in the audio band. In summary, at increasing frequencies, a square wave begins to sound more and more like a sine wave.

This is about a new version of Absolute BME's course on Quantitative Seismic Interpretation -- or QSI. We are in Cadeby Quarry in Yorkshire with real rocks... QSI describes reservoir rocks from surface seismic, well data and geological knowledge. This is the type locality for the Cadeby Formation. It has 16-18% intrinsic porosity and significant fracture permeability. There are source rocks below. It's a reservoir interval in some petroleum reservoirs: • Onshore UK • Across the Southern and Central North Sea • and into Holland and beyond However, this is the Magnesian Limestone and QSI is most at home with sand-shale sequences. Carbonates are more of a challenge. This flowchart groups the main Reservoir Description stages of seismic, drilling and engineering by colour. The overall flow is from left to right, data and processes mostly flow from top to bottom. The central QSI process of Rock Physics and Amplitude versus Offset (or AVO) analysis is in red. Note the parallelism between: • QSI -- narrowly defined in red, with Pre-stack seismic attributes and Rock Physics and • QSI -- broadly defined, to include Post-stack seismic attributes and Inversion in blue In response to feedback requests, Absolute BME is broadening their QSI course: We need both Pre- and Post-stack seismic. So we plan an icebreaker practical, to introduce basic seismic processing and gathers. Then we'll discuss Pre-stack attributes on the 2nd day and Post-stack attributes on the last day Seismic is a form of Remote Sensing. As with satellite images we Ground-truth to real features and materials. In QSI, we calibrate seismic against non-seismic data. In order of rapidly increasing cost and relevance we have: a. Outcrop analogues and lateral equivalents like this b. Seismic waves average the detail we see in outcrops and well logs. Reflection coefficients measure changes in bulk rock properties. c. Wells ground-truth Rock Physics with wireline logs and fluid samples. Broader QSI can use almost every well data type. Third-party experts provide Asset Teams with key insights. d. Well Tests, Flowmeter logs and Production History have no azimuthal information, so now QSI explains. Critical reviews tune the Reservoir Model. In summary: Absolute BME's new QSI course will be broad & interactive. We'll have practical sessions with delegates' own laptop computers. On Day 1, we'll review the Reservoir Description workflow. In the afternoon, we'll get familiar with seismic gathers and wiggles. On Day 2, we'll discuss QSI with logs and Rock Physics. In the afternoon, we'll look at Pre-stack seismic attributes. On Day 3, we'll discuss Post-stack seismic attributes. In the afternoon, we'll look at 3D and 4D seismic for Exploration and Reservoir Models. Thank you for listening.

Jessep (Jack Nicholson) forces Lt. Kaffee (Tom Cruise) into a weakened position by forcing Kaffee to be nice. FILM DESCRIPTION: In this military courtroom drama based on the play by Aaron Sorkin, Navy lawyer Lt. Daniel Kaffee (Tom Cruise) is assigned to defend two Marines, Pfc. Louden Downey (James Marshall) and Lance Cpl. Harold Dawson (Wolfgang Bodison), who are accused of the murder of fellow leatherneck Pfc. William Santiago (Michael de Lorenzo) at the U.S. Navy base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Kaffee generally plea bargains for his clients rather than bring them to trial, which is probably why he was assigned this potentially embarassing case, but when Lt. Commander JoAnne Galloway (Demi Moore) is assigned to assist Kaffee, she is convinced that there's more to the matter than they've been led to believe and convinces her colleague that the case should go to court. Under questioning, Downey and Dawson reveal that Santiago died in the midst of a hazing ritual known as "Code Red" after he threatened to inform higher authorities that Dawson opened fire on a Cuban watchtower. They also state that the "Code Red" was performed under the orders of Lt. Jonathan Kendrick (Kiefer Sutherland). Kendrick's superior, tough-as-nails Col. Nathan Jessup (Jack Nicholson), denies any knowledge of the order to torture Santiago, but when Lt. Col. Matthew Markinson (J.T. Walsh) confides to Kaffee that Jessup demanded the "Code Red" for violating his order of silence, Kaffee and Galloway have to find a way to prove this in court. A Few Good Men also features Kevin Bacon as prosecuting attorney Capt. Jack Ross and Kevin Pollak as Kaffee and Galloway's research assistant, Lt. Sam Weinberg. details and reasons -- I wanted to keep this brief, but it turns out I have a lot of things I want or need to say. -- I just wanted to give a synopsis on what’s happening since this video started getting many more views and comments in the last 2-3 days. This event happened during the 2nd week of June and I decided to start a channel and upload the video about two weeks or so after that. I didn’t really expect to have many views so my details thus far have been sparse. Throughout most of my adult life I never gave police a second thought. I just lived my life and had no reason to think of them at all because I don’t do anything that would ever get their attention. I have a pretty clean record, and intend to keep it that way. However, in the last 3-4 years I have become increasingly more aware of bad police behavior, first through national news stories about Ferguson, and then Eric Garner, etc. I was appalled and outraged at what I saw happening in those parts of the country. I then increasingly saw more evidence of civil rights abuses by police via videos uploaded by citizens who otherwise didn’t have national news stories, but still their experiences were equally as egregious. This outraged me further and I began taking videos of police in my own area of the country about a year ago. I wanted to see if they acted the same way toward us citizens here. I found out that it’s possible to see this happening in all corners. I will now talk about my own video. That day I hadn’t even set out with a plan to do an audit. I was a last moment decision while on my way home from the grocery store. Back somewhere in my mind I was somewhat prepared if it went further than it usually does. I had the time off of work, and had the funds if I had to bail myself out of jail, and even secure a lawyer if need be. I was not as prepared with how I was going to react if the police came to me though. I was kind of wavering between taking the “right to be silent” approach, and trying to convince the officer of the legality of what I was doing. My camera work was crap. I was nervous cuz this cop gets right in front of me and stands there blocking the camera view. Upon hearing his reason for wanting to ID me I was dumbfounded. I could only incredulously repeat back in stunned silence at the ridiculousness of what crime he said I was committing, voyeurism. I figured this was a fight which was not going to be successful in the field with these officers. Sometimes one picks their battlefield, and often it’s best to choose the court system anyways. I still have yet to attend the pre-trial conference. It was re-scheduled and is now still almost three weeks out. I think the city was not prepared for having to release items for the process of discovery in time because they didn’t expect me to dig my heels in for such a misdemeanor offense of, “delaying and obstructing an officer.” Yes, that’s it! In the police cruiser, on the way to jail, I straight-up challenged the officer to charge me with the crime of voyeurism. Apparently even he knew it was a ridiculous claim, although he still saw fit to later loudly proclaim to me through the window of my cell, “people DO have an expectation of privacy in their vehicles.” So really I don’t know what he was thinking. However, officers are used to being able to lie and have citizens either believe them or not challenge them because they don’t actually know what their rights are. This call the police were on was actually from someone driving by who then later reported me. Police take advantage of citizens not knowing their rights. It makes their job that much easier. What other professions are there where one is encouraged to lie to their fellow citizens? Where is the honor in that? We are expecting the actual charge to be dropped, perhaps even before the pre-trial conference happens. I was then going to file a formal complaint against the officer and then pursue other legal avenues. I have other videos I have taken earlier this year that I haven’t even uploaded yet. One was for also filming the FBI complex, and the call was from the FBI security themselves. Again I was across the street. This time the officers were able to identify me without me having given my name or ID. That’s why I was surprised the officer more recently was so adamant about id’ing me. I film police frequently and many of them greet me by name when they see me filming. Often I wave back. I have videos of me filming our court house and I have an interesting confrontation that I think I will upload. After this arrest I still film police. There was another incident where I was filming a stop in the WAL-MART parking lot and the night manager proclaimed to me, while he was talking to the officer, that if I did not stop filming he would have me trespassed. He told me I was committing “video voyeurism.” Needless to say, I was not in fact trespassed. A few minutes later I confronted this night manager to educate him on that particula

The Da Vinci Code movie clips: http://j.mp/1CO76Jq BUY THE MOVIE: http://amzn.to/rIL4Hd Don't miss the HOTTEST NEW TRAILERS: http://bit.ly/1u2y6pr CLIP DESCRIPTION: Teabling (Ian McKellen) discusses the theory that the Holy Grail is in fact Mary Magdalene as proven by Da Vinci's Last Supper painting. FILM DESCRIPTION: Dan Brown's controversial best-selling novel about a powerful secret that's been kept under wraps for thousands of years comes to the screen in this suspense thriller from director Ron Howard. The stately silence of Paris' Louvre museum is broken when one of the gallery's leading curators is found dead on the grounds, with strange symbols carved into his body and left around the spot where he died. Hoping to learn the significance of the symbols, police bring in Sophie Neveu (Audrey Tautou), a gifted cryptographer who is also the victim's granddaughter. Needing help, Sophie calls on Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks), a leading symbologist from the United States. As Sophie and Robert dig deeper into the case, they discover the victim's involvement in the Priory of Sion, a secret society whose members have been privy to forbidden knowledge dating back to the birth of Christianity. In their search, Sophie and Robert happen upon evidence that could lead to the final resting place of the Holy Grail, while members of the priory and an underground Catholic society known as Opus Dei give chase, determined to prevent them from sharing their greatest secrets with the world. Also starring Ian McKellen, Jean Reno, and Alfred Molina, The Da Vinci Code was shot on location in France and the United Kingdom; the Louvre allowed the producers to film at the famous museum, but scenes taking place at Westminster Abbey had to filmed elsewhere when church officials declined permission. Is Administrative Review of Granted Patents Constitutional? The U.S. Supreme Court granted certiorari in Oil States Energy Services v. Greene’s Energy Group, a case in which the petitioner argues that the most prominent U.S. Patent and Trademark Office process for analyzing the validity of granted patents “violates the Constitution by extinguishing private property rights through a non-Article III forum without a jury.” Duke Law's Center for Innovation Policy gathered distinguished practitioners and legal scholars from a variety of perspectives to discuss potential implications of the case for patent law, for the administrative state, and for affected industries. A Google TechTalk, presented by Jonathan Lazar, 2018-06-27 Abstract: There is a growing community of researchers in accessibility, doing ground-breaking work on ICT access for people with disabilities. Yet this research often does not result in more accessible interfaces for the general population of users with disabilities. There is a growing awareness that we have been successful in creating accessible solutions for people with disabilities, but we have not been successful in getting them implemented in real-world systems! This presentation will present a number of potential approaches for increasing the accessibility of real-world systems and digital content. These ideas include 1) behavioral economic approaches to accessibility (opt-out instead of opt-in), 2) requiring notification of accessibility status in app stores, 3) teaching more about ICT accessibility at all levels of education, 4) leveraging the purchasing power of large tech companies, university systems, and state governments for improved ICT accessibility, and 5) social pressure and cultural integration. Rate regulation today is often conceived of as an exotic topic of interest only to a select group of pointy-headed specialists. But the truth is quite the opposite. The history of rate regulation raises some of the most fundamental challenges to the organization of a free society. This lecture will trace the evolution of the doctrine from its common law origins in Sir Matthew Hale's seventeenth century treatise, De Portis Maris (Of the Gates of the Sea) through its incorporation into American Constitutional Law to the major synthesis of rate regulation in the 1944 decision in Hope Natural Gas v. Federal Power Commission. On the one side lies the need to constrain monopoly profits; on the other lies the need to prevent confiscation of the the invested capital of the regulated industry. The effort to achieve those twin goals gives rises to procedural and substantive challenges that in one guise or another are with us today. Richard Epstein is James Parker Hall Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus of Law and Senior Lecturer. This talk was recorded on April 9, 2013, as part of the Chicago's Best Ideas lecture series.

Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain - Chapter 38 Mark Twain (1835 - 1910) The book is noted for its colorful description of people and places along the Mississippi River, and its sober and often scathing look at entrenched attitudes, particularly racism. The drifting journey of Huck and his friend Jim, a runaway slave, down the Mississippi River on their raft may be one of the most enduring images of escape and freedom in all of American literature. The book has been popular with young readers since its publication, and taken as a sequel to the comparatively innocuous The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. It has also been the continued object of study by serious literary critics. Although the Southern society it satirized was already a quarter-century in the past by the time of publication, the book immediately became controversial, and has remained so to this day.(Summary from Wikipedia) The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn at Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adventures_of_Huckleberry_Finn Audio courtesy of Librivox.
