These Antibiotics Cause Nerve Damage And Lifelong Disability

02:23
These Antibiotics Cause Nerve Damage And Lifelong Disability The Fluoroquinolones are a group of antibiotics that are usually prescribed for urinary tract infections and respiratory infections, but these antibiotic can cause serious nerve damage. These antibiotics were given to more than 23 million patients in 2011. Fluoroquinolones include: Ofloxacin (Floxin) Norfloxacin (Noroxin) Moxifloxacin (Avelox) Levofloxacin (Levaquin) Gemifloxacin(Factive) Ciprofloxacin (Cipro) The FDA required an update on the labels of these drugs, their side effects of peripheral neuropathy. Peripheral neuropathy This antibiotic kills the bacteria that cause the illness. But according to new research, the risks of these medications are more than the benefits of it. Peripheral neuropathy is when the nerves which send the information are damaged. This damage disables the connection. People with peripheral neuropathy can feel numbness, burning pain in the legs or the arms and tingling. These medications can cause long-lasting damage to the nerves and this can lead to disability. They can get into the blood-brain barrier and this leads to getting into the brain and damaging the central nervous system. In 2010 Levaquin was the most selling antibiotic and by 2011 had more than 2000 lawsuits from patients. SYMPTOMS AND SIDE EFFECTS You will feel the symptoms after only a few days, and you should contact medical help immediately. The symptoms are: Tingling Numbness Burning Weakness Rupture and tendon damage Shooting pains Confusion Muscle and joint pain Hallucinations NATURAL TREATMENT For sinus infection drink a lot of water and teas. Follow my Updates on the Best Chronic Prostatitis Cure Clinics Guide at: https://www.prostatitis.support Or write to me: sean@prostatitis.support The worst thing about Chronic Prostatitis is not knowing exactly what caused it.. and contrary to all the calls about non-bacterial being a diagnosis of 90+% of cases, I believe that an infection cause is responsible for far more cases of Chronic Prostatitis than previously thought. Once an infection gets into the male genitourinary system and gets established, it commonly becomes impossible to culture via urinalysis or EPS.. thus the often “non-bacterial” label and the extreme difficulty of a Prostatitis cure. It's a proven fact that oral antibiotics cannot get into the prostate in any strength, let alone the seminal vesicles and associated areas, so a common effect is an improvement of symptoms and then relapse after the course is finished. This video is my story of Chronic Prostatitis and how I found it was bacterial-based and how I cured it. I discovered a lot of information in the process and I've put all that in the Clinics Review section of my website at: https://www.sexualhealthclinics.org If you've ever suspected this terrible disease of Chronic Prostatitis is due to a long-established deeply-based infection, then come and see what I've found through determination and persistence and realize you can find a Chronic Prostatitis Cure. http://youtu.be/07cpWLyJ2Ao

No More UTI, No More Antibiotics - I Found A Solution

07:45
I can relate to your frustration. As someone who suffered from UTIs almost every month, I finally found a solution. I haven't had a UTI in over a year! Urinary Tract Infections, also known as UTI. I wanted to share this video with those of you who suffer from UTIs. When I would get the UTI, I would have to go on antibiotics because the infection processed through my body so fast that drinking lots of water or cranberry juice did not help make it go away. For me, once I get a UTI, the only way to make it go away is to go on antibiotics. For some people, they can drink a lot of water or cranberry juice and it goes away. That just never worked with me. Prevention was my only hope. I had tried many things to prevent from getting the UTI (baking soda, cinnamon, concentrated cranberry pills, purest cranberry juice) and I would still get UTI and have to go on antibiotics over and over again. I believe taking antibiotics whether from UTI or whatever type of infections (ear infections, etc) is not good for you. It slowly breaks down your immune system and ruins your stomach. I believe it is the cause of my allergies and also causes my stomach to react unnaturally to certain foods, which I hadn't had a problem previously. I've heard that if taking antibiotics for a long time, your body becomes immune to it and one day when you need it, it won't work anymore. Sounds so scary. Therefore, I wanted to find a solution to never getting another UTI again. I have been UTI free for over 1 year now. I'm so excited to share this with especially those that are similar and also want to find a solution. This product that I use is called D-Mannose Powder and the brand is NOW. Who would have thought a simple sugar powder could help so much to the point I no longer get UTIs. Believe me, I was so skeptical at first. But I had another round of antibiotics waiting for me if it didn't work. First I followed what the suggested usage on the back of the bottle mentioned. That did not work. Then, I altered the way I take it so that it would work for me. It mentioned to take it every day as a dietary supplement. I only take it at certain times (please view my video to see details on how I made it work for me). When I mention flushing with 5 cups in my video, that means drinking 4 - 5 cups of water in 1 hour after waiting 45 minute for the teaspoon of D-Mannose to set in. This bottle is not cheap. So I wanted to make sure I only use it when needed. Not sure which way would work best for you. I'm only sharing my experience and how I have made it work for me. Disclaimer: I am not claiming that it would cure the UTI or treat the UTI. Please consult with your physician before using. I have mentioned this D-Mannose to my physician and she is happy I no longer get the UTIs. I have successfully used it to prevent me from getting a UTI for over 1 year now. You can purchase this item at a health food store called Sprouts. This is a local health food type grocery store that also sells vitamins. As mentioned in the video, I will update this description section when I know of a sale. There is currently a sale going on from 01/03/18 to 01/10/18. I believe it is 25% off. For those who do not have a Sprouts near you, you can also purchase it online. I hope this video has inspired you to find solutions. I was hesitant to put up this video because it is a very sensitive subject. But I know so many people suffer from UTIs so perhaps this video would be helpful and valuable. Take care! Cheers!

How to Deal with Antibiotic Side Effects

Antibiotics are medicines used to treat bacterial infections. There are different types of antibiotics that work against different strains of bacteria and some types of parasites. When used properly, they either kill or inhibit the growth of bacteria that cause a particular health problem. This in turn helps your natural immune system fight the infection. But antibiotics often have side effects that cause other temporary health issues. Some common side effects include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, vaginal yeast infections, allergic reactions and inner ear problems. 1. Eat Probiotic Yogurt When taking antibiotics, it is highly recommended to include yogurt with ‘good bacteria’ in your diet. Eating yogurt that contains ‘live cultures’ (also labeled as probiotic yogurt) helps your body recover from diarrhea, one of the common side effects of antibiotics. These live cultures are gut-friendly bacteria that provide a layer of protection in the intestines and help generate lactic acid to get bacterial toxins out of the body. 2. Eat Fermented Foods or Take a Probiotic Supplement. Apart from yogurt, many fermented foods naturally contain a high amount of probiotics. So, in addition to yogurt, include kombucha, kefir, sauerkraut, pickles, pickled beets, pickled turnips, pickled carrots and kimchi in your diet. 3. Eat Garlic. Garlic is a natural antibiotic that helps kill harmful microbes without the side effects of antibiotic medicines. Also, it contains an important compound known as allicin that protects your kidneys and liver from the potential damage of antibiotics. 4. Take Milk Thistle Supplements. Taking traditional antibiotics can be hard on your liver, which is responsible for breaking down the medications you ingest. To protect your liver from any damage due to a course of antibiotics, the herb milk thistle is very effective. The rich antioxidants in this herb help protect the liver. 5. Sip Ginger Tea Whether you suffer from diarrhea, nausea or vomiting due to prescribed antibiotics, ginger is effective in dealing with these side effects. Ginger’s natural antibiotic property helps prevent and treat many health problems caused by bacteria. Fresh ginger has an antibiotic effect against food-borne pathogens as well as respiratory and periodontal infections. 6. Eat Bland Foods. Some of the most widely reported side effects of antibitoics include diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. To counter these issues, it is advisable that you eat only bland food during and after a cource of antibiotics. These types of food inlcude dry crackers, plain bread, white rice, etc. 7. Drink Apple Cider Vinegar Tonic. Apple cider vinegar has antibacterial properties that help fight harmful bacteria in your body. Also, it is a good remedy for controlling diarrhea, one of the common side effects of antibiotic medicine. 8. Drink Enough Fluids. To counter dry mouth caused by medicines and a mild loss of fluids from diarrhea or vomiting, drink more water. Drinking an ample amount of water throughout the day will keep your body hydrated. For a more-severe loss of water, drink fluids that contain water, sugar and salt to help replace electrolytes that the body needs. 9. Stay Healthy. One way to deal with side effects of antibiotics is to stay healthy so you don’t have to take them for long. Take steps to support your health in the following way. 10. Take Antibiotics as Directed. Last but not least, you must always take your antibiotic medicine as directed by your physician. For instance, some antibiotics should be taken only with water. Others need to be taken with food in order to increase their absorption in the body and ward off an upset stomach, a common side effect of antibiotics. Urinary Tract Infections

01:52
Urinary tract infections, or cystitis, are an incredibly common reason why women go to the doctor. Approximately one third of all women experience at least one episode of this infection by around 25 years of age, and half of all women will have at least one in their lifetime. Since it’s such a common reason why women go to the doctors, urinary tract infections are always high on the list whenever a woman complains of pelvic pain. The most common symptoms usually are pain when urinating, pain in the pelvis, cloudy smelling urine, frequency of urination, and getting that sudden urge to have to go. Some patients have all of the symptoms, making the diagnosis very straightforward. Other patients have just a few of the symptoms, making it a little bit more complex. In fact, one of the main duties for the physician in these cases is to make sure that nothing else is occuring. Pelvic infections, such as sexually transmitted diseases, colitis, vaginal infections, constipation, ovarian pain, and appendix pain can all present with somewhat similar symptoms. The diligent physician will at least consider these other infirmities before leaping to the conclusion of urinary tract infection. The physician diagnoses a urinary tract infection with a urinalysis. Looking for the presence of bacteria, white blood cells (leukocytes), and a chemical from the bacteria called nitrites, the urinalysis is essential to rule in the diagnosis. It should be noted that ultrasounds, x-rays, and CT scans are not helpful in the diagnosis of urinary tract infections unless a mass or abscess is being considered. Treatment usually is a three-day course of antibiotics for women. While it in older days seven to ten days would’ve been needed, we now know that three days is usually sufficient. Bactrim, a sulfa drug, is still used in those who are not allergic and where Bactrim does not have a high resistance. Cipro (ciprofloxacin) is also used, and as a third-line drug Macrodantin (nitrofurantoin) is used as a five day course. However, Macrodantin doesn’t actually kill the bacteria, and is usually reserved when other treatments simply don’t work. While other antibiotics not listed here are also often used, they should be used further down the road when these first-line therapies don’t seem to work. Preventing urinary tract infections can be tricky. Wiping patterns don’t seem to make as much of a difference as we once thought, and underwear fabric choice such as non-cotton underwear doesn’t seem to help either. Tampon use does not seem to play a role in the development of urinary tract infections. However, it does seem that cranberry juice and cranberry extract can help prevent urinary tract infections. Three to four hundred milligrams of cranberry extract twice daily seems to be an appropriate dose, which corresponds to three 8-ounce glasses of cranberry juice daily. A small daily dose of preventative antibiotics can also be given to patients who have urinary tract infections over and over again. While this does seem to work while the patient is taking them, this treatment is associated with abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea from the antibiotics themselves. It also only seems to work as long as patients taking the antibiotic. Therefore, this should be done only when absolutely nothing else seems to work. Kidney function is usually preserved with a urinary tract infection, and the long-term outlook is excellent. Please contact your physician if you have any questions about urinary tract infection, or feel like you need treatment for it. Proper treatment can save a lot of pain and discomfort. Pray for those with serious infections.

Recovering from Antibiotics

05:31
“How to recover from antibiotics.” – What does that mean? If you’ve been treated with a course of antibiotics for a long or a short time, or if you’ve been using food that has antibiotics in it, without you knowing, or if you’ve been misusing antibiotics in any way, you might start to have health problems. You might suffer from certain complaints that will make your life a little bit more difficult. Side Effects of Antibiotics Let me discuss the complaints that you might have from use of antibiotics. The most affected organs would probably be your intestines. That’s because the antibiotics are going to kill the bacterial flora, which is the friendly bacteria in your intestines that is responsible for digestion and making vitamin K, which is important for you. So, you will notice that you’re having trouble in your gut, so, you will start to have bloating, gas, irregular bowel movement, so, you will have constipation, then diarrhea and then bloating again and so on. You might also suffer from heartburn and feeling generally unwell. You might also start to notice bleeding from the gums or from the nose. That’s also related to the lack of vitamin K. You might also suffer from yeast infections, which is a fungal infection that can be anywhere on your body, either on your skin or in your mouth or in the genital area. All that is because your bacteria flora – the friendly bacteria in the gut – has been affected by the antibiotics. So, what we need to do now is correct the level of bacterial flora in your gut. How do we do that? First of, you will need to lead a healthy lifestyle. So, you drink a lot of water. Avoid bad foods. Bad foods are rich in sugar, carbohydrates that are unhealthy, like pasta, packed foods, processed foods – these are all unhealthy foods. Instead of that you should eat vegetables, fruits, grains, healthy fats (that’s vegetable oils mainly). Probiotics and Prebiotics You can also use probiotics. These are very healthy foods that are fermented, so that helps the growth of the good bacteria in the gut. Probiotics are mainly: yogurt, kefir and yeast. If you are suffering from any problems with kefir or yeast, I would suggest that you take it slowly. So you start with very small amounts, like one spoon a day, and then increase it gradually. If you go to the shop and want to buy probiotics, look for the name lactobacillus on it – that’s the good bacteria for you. You can also use foods that are called prebiotics. Prebiotics are foods that help the growth of bacteria, because they don’t get absorbed in the body, they stay for a long time in the intestines. Like, leeks (garlic, onions), honey, bananas, these are all very good foods for your bacteria flora. You can also try fermented fresh vegetables. That means, pickles that are pickled in a healthy way. So, you can try to pickle at home. So, try for example the ginger, to pickle it at home, or maybe cucumbers, also are healthy. But don’t add too much salt. So, pickled vegetables are very good for your gut flora. If you’re a fan of soups you can try bone broth or gelatin soups. You can buy bones from the butcher, and what’s inside – the broth – you can make soups with it, and that’s very good for your gut flora. You can also add onions to it, or any vegetables of your choice. It’s very important to know that your gut flora affects the function of your intestines, and healthy intestines affect the whole body. So it’s very important to replace the gut flora that has been affected by your antibiotic abuse. I wish you all the best! This is an important first step to ensuring these antibiotics are only used when the patient faces a potential fatal outcome, and only after the use of all other antibiotics have been ruled out. This is not due to the probability of risk, but rather severity. To those who have been affected, prognosis is normally not good. There is no cure. Often repeat exposure through food and water cause a continual never ending cycle of symptoms. Many victims face the fact that their lives have been completely destroyed. Many face loss of job and income, some face breakup of the family. Some have even committed suicide because of the pain inflicted by these drugs. Unfortunately, physicians currently give these prescriptions out like candy. To emphasize the ignorance of physicians, Cipro is often prescribed post-op for tendon repair surgery. The physician will often prescribe a drug known to cause tendon rupture as a preventive to infection after tendon repair surgery. There is an obvious neglect on the part of the physicians who simply do not known the potential dangers of the drugs they prescribe. So where is the breakdown of information? Unfortunately many physicians mistakenly rely on pharmaceutical drug reps to point out any potential side effects rather than investigating it themselves. Further implicating the physicians, they accept gifts from drug companies and in return will prescribe unnecessary and dangerous substances. Drug Reps, paid on commission, find themselves making more sales by not disclosing the dangers, or make light of potential side effects. Making the problem worse, the drug manufactures trivialize and distort the potential risks. A pending U.S. Senate bill would require drug companies to report gifts to doctors of more than $25. New York State's legislature plans to hold hearings this year on the relationship between doctors and drug companies. One congressional critic has even compared the drug industry with the tobacco industry, and Senator John McCain has called drugmakers the "bad guys." How to Deal with Antibiotic Side Effects | Home remedies to get rid of Antibiotic Side Effects

02:21
How to Deal with Antibiotic Side Effects | Home remedies to get rid of Antibiotic Side Effects When you suffer from strep throat, an ear infection, a urinary tract infection or other common bacterial infections, the most common medication prescribed by doctors is antibiotics. Antibiotics are medicines used to treat bacterial infections. There are different types of antibiotics that work against different strains of bacteria and some types of parasites. 1. Eat Probiotic Yogurt. 2. Eat Garlic. Garlic is a natural antibiotic that helps kill harmful microbes without the side effects of antibiotic medicines. Also, it contains an important compound known as allicin that protects your kidneys and liver from the potential damage of antibiotics. 3. Sip Ginger Tea. Whether you suffer from diarrhea, nausea or vomiting due to prescribed antibiotics, ginger is effective in dealing with these side effects. 4. Drink Apple Cider Vinegar Tonic. Apple cider vinegar has antibacterial properties that help fight harmful bacteria in your body. Also, it is a good remedy for controlling diarrhea, one of the common side effects of antibiotic medicine. 5. Eat Bland Foods. Eating bland foods are easy to digest and help give rest to your gastrointestinal tract, thus allowing it to recover from the strong actions of antibitoics. This is important since antibiotics destroy bad as well as good bacteria. Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) Commonly Antibiotic Resistant in Children

00:47
A survey of urinary tract infections in children now shows that E.coli related infections are becoming less treatable with antibiotics. British researchers say that the problem stems from drug-resistance in the bacteria. Ashley Bryce, a doctoral fellow at the Center for Academic Primary Care at the University of Bristol in the U.K., blames abuse of antibiotics, saying that the overprescribing of antibiotics is now creating an international health crisis. However, for Ecoli driven urinary tract infections, the problem is an immediate concern, because those kinds of infections are among the most common in young children. If the infections cannot be treated, they are prone to complications such as kidney scarring and kidney failure. How to Treat a Urinary Tract Infection During Pregnancy

03:16
How to Treat a Urinary Tract Infection During Pregnancy One common problem during pregnancy is urinary tract infections (UTIs), also known as bladder infections. This type of infection occurs when bacteria causes the urinary tract to become inflamed. The problem usually starts after the sixth week of pregnancy, occurring as the growing baby puts more pressure on the bladder. The increasing pressure prevents the bladder from emptying completely, which leads to bacteria getting trapped in the urinary tract and ultimately causing an infection. Apart from the physical changes in your body, several factors can lead to a UTI during pregnancy. Such factors include bacteria from the bowel, intercourse, a history of recurring UTIs, maternal diabetes, sickle cell disease, kidney disease, and previous urinary tract surgery. When suffering from a UTI during pregnancy, you can experience symptoms like a burning sensation during urination, frequent trips to the bathroom to urinate, an intense urge to urinate while the amount of urine expelled is small, cloudy and smelly urine, a low-grade fever, lower-abdominal pain or discomfort, and nausea, and vomiting. It is important to treat a UTI right away. An untreated infection could turn into a kidney infection, triggering preterm labor and causing your baby to have a low birth weight. Most UTIs during pregnancy are treated with a course of antibiotics that are pregnancy-safe but still effective in killing the bacteria. Apart from antibiotics, there are many things you can do to help treat the infection and ensure a safe pregnancy. Here are the top 5 ways to treat a urinary tract infection during pregnancy. 1. Water When suffering from a UTI, it is important to drink enough water every day. Water intake will make you urinate more. The increase in bathroom visits helps flush bacteria out of the urethra, which helps you recover faster. 2. Apple Cider Vinegar Apple cider vinegar is useful for getting rid of many pregnancy-related problems, including a UTI. It is a rich source of enzymes that can prevent the bacteria that cause UTIs from multiplying or growing. 3. Cranberry Juice During pregnancy, you can drink pure cranberry juice with no added sugar to prevent UTIs. There are several compounds in cranberries that prevent bacteria from adhering to the urinary tract, thus preventing an infection. 4. Greek Yogurt When suffering from a UTI during pregnancy, you must try to eat 1 to 2 cups of Greek yogurt daily. Being a probiotic food, Greek yogurt can boost the growth of good bacteria in the urinary tract and promote a healthy balance of bacteria in your gut. Also, eating Greek yogurt helps improve your digestive health and enhance your immune system functioning. 5. Indian Gooseberry Indian gooseberry, also known as amla, is a rich source of vitamin C and inhibits the growth of harmful bacteria that cause UTIs. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Our Social Links: Subscribe To Our Channel : https://goo.gl/7YPKcz For more tips see our blog: https://naturalhealthcarenhc.blogspot.com like us in Facebook: https://goo.gl/MmjtyD Follow us on twitter: https://goo.gl/USDg3k Google plus: https://goo.gl/B5B2oz Special thanks to: http://www.top10homeremedies.com If you found this information cool, useful or valuable please hit share and let your friends benefit from this as well!

Category A and B drugs are mostly safe in pregnancy and can be used without any problem. But C and D drugs are having a little deleterious effects on the fetus compared to the other A and B drugs and it had to be very carefully used when it comes to pregnancy. Only then the potential benefits the drugs oppose to the growing fetus and the mother. Category X drugs are definitely dangerous to the fetus and they have to be avoided as they are teratogenic in the terms of causing abnormalities in the development of various organs. Coming to antibiotics in early pregnancy, the week number 8 – 10 or 7 – 11 is mostly the stage of organogenesis where all the organs are developing in a beautiful way in the fetus. So all the drugs which are in this period can have effect on the growing fetus to various degrees. So we try and avoid any drugs as much as possible, but if it is inevitable, like infections or any condition which si posing threat to the mother’s health, it is advised to use drugs in the safe categories, that is the A, B and sometimes C category drugs. Antibiotics do not affect the fetal growth, especially in the early pregnancy. It can be harmful to the organogenesis to the development of the fetus. So growth parameters are not affected in the early pregnancy , But there are a group of drugs that can cause teratogenic effects , that is abnormal effects on the fetus, that is warfarin, phenytoin, lithium, isotretinoin etc. So these drugs are to be avoided in pregnancy as far as possible. There are many antibiotics which can be used safely in pregnancy like penicillins, erythromycins, cephalosporins, metronidazole, clindamycin and various other drugs. But of course only after your gynecologist says okay with these drugs.

Ciprofloxacin-resistant Escherichia coli: Outpatient

00:47
Escherichia coli, a member of the Enterobacteriaceae family of bacteria, is the leading cause of community-acquired urinary tract infections (UTIs). It is also a common cause of food-borne gastrointestinal infections. These maps show outpatient E. coli resistance to ciprofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that is a first-line drug for uncomplicated UTIs when local trimethophrim-sulfa resistance is known to be high. At the start of the decade, nearly all of the United States (with the exception of the South Atlantic and West South Central divisions) experienced low resistance rates (less than 5%) to ciprofloxacin. Resistance rises gradually. By 2005 all regions report resistance levels between 5% and 15%. By 2009, the picture has changed markedly: all areas except Pacific and New England report at least 15% resistance, and in East South Central resistance rates exceed 25%. Fluoroquinolone resistance is on the increase worldwide, along with outpatient use of quinolones. E. coli resistance to fluoroquinolone antibiotics is particular cause for concern because it has been linked to the emergence of plasmid-mediated quinolone resistance (PMQR), a mechanism by which genetic material that encodes for resistance is transmitted horizontally (from one organism to another) rather than vertically (from parent organism to offspring). The rise of PMQR is thought to accelerate the rate at which other Enterobacteriaceae, including K. pneumoniae, develop fluoroquinolone resistance. The national average resistance level for the sample was 10.4%, rising from 3% in 2000 to 19.5% in 2009. The sample consists of 1,900,924 E. coli outpatient isolates tested for ciprofloxacin resistance. Data are not available from the following states: AR (2008--2009), CO (2006--2009), GA (2007--2009), IA (2008--2009), KY (2007--2009), MI (2008--2009), NV (2009), RI (2000--2004), SD (2005--2009), UT (2007--2009), CT, NH, MT, and WY.

UTI Treatment Clarksville TN | Call: (931)221-2745

01:45
Urinary Tract Infection treatment in Clarksville TN urology center - http://clarksvilleurology.com Are urinary tract infection antibiotics the best way to get rid of such an infection? Naturally, your doctor is going to recommend a number of hard-hitting antibiotics to prevent that infection from recurring again. You should not be surprised to know that the majority of people out there have suffered from a urinary tract infection, one time or another in their lives. If you are suffering from a urinary tract infection, also known as UTI or cystitis, the urinary tract infection antibiotics which are going to be used to destroy the E.coli are going to be quite strong. These bacteria have now evolved into strains which resist the penicillin and cephalosporin, which normally is used to combat cystitis. Doctors are now looking for quinolone as a standard treatment against these evolved bacterial strains, when once they used TMP – SMX (trimethoprim – sulfamethoxazole), to cure UTI. This was a three-day course, and in many cases, it is able to control the infection. Researchers are also looking for other stronger antibiotics, because these bacteria are capable of evolving themselves into antibiotic resistant strains in a couple of bacterial generations. Along with these medicines, there are other strong urinary tract infection antibiotics, which are used to tackle cystitis. Beta-lactams consist of penicillins – amoxicillin – and cephalosporins. These were extensively used to combat UTI, up to a couple of years ago, when they were found to be ineffective in about 25% of the cases. That is because the bacteria are becoming beta-lactam resistant. However Gram-positive Enterococcus can still be controlled by amoxicillin. A 10 days treatment of antibiotics is standard UTI treatment procedure. If the antibiotics like Augmentin and amoxicillin have not managed to control the infection, cephalosporins like Duricef, Ceftin, Lorabid, Suprax and cephalexin are going to be recommended by your doctors. These are strong enough to control penicillin resistant strains of bacteria. It is recommended that you complete the course of urinary tract infection antibiotics, and do not stop it midway, like many people have a tendency to do-so that the bacteria do not have a chance to cause an infection again. Many people who do not want to take antibiotics are looking at natural remedies, to cure a urinary tract infection. Yes, natural remedies are occasionally helpful, especially cranberry juice, but there is always the chance that the remedy cannot prevent the infection from occurring again, once the bacteria get a chance to multiply in convivial surroundings. Urinary tract infection antibiotics when used over a long period of time can cause some side effects in some patients. That is why, many times, your doctor may suggest a one-day or three-day medicine course depending on the strength of the medicine and the severity of your cystitis infection. Asking for a longer course does not automatically mean that the infection is going to be rooted out, and there are more chances of your suffering from the side effects like headaches and stomach upsets. Other Urinary Tract Infection Antibiotics to Consider A TMP SMX course is not recommended for people who are allergic to sulfa-based drugs. Septra is one of these very popular drugs, along with Bactrim. If you are allergic to the sulfa drugs, it is possible that your doctor is going to recommend Proloprim to you. Also , quinolones are making their mark as strong antibiotics to prevent cystitis, in the USA today. You can see them under the brand names of Cipro, Noroxin, Levaquin, etc. Tetracyclines are also effective antibiotics, which are normally used when you are urinary tract infection is caused by Mycoplasma bacteria or Chlamydia. These tetracyclines are not recommended to children or to expectant mothers. Now that you know all about urinary tract infection antibiotics, remember to tell your doctor about any allergies to penicillin and sulfa drugs, before you start taking a course to cure cystitis.
