How to manage burning sensation of feet due to Diabetes? - Dr. Mahesh DM

02:27
High sugars definitely contributes to burning sensation in the feet, it is also associated with many other symptoms as damaging the eyes, the kidneys and many other parts of the body. But burning feet is one of the symptoms of diabetes and it causes lot of distress in patients. How can we treat this burning feet? The burning feet can be because of vitamin deficiency and alcohol intake, so we need to first rule out the causes especially Vitamins B12 deficiency and alcohol consumption. If these two are taken care of, then the chances of burning worsening is very worse. This is to control the diabetes. So we need to ensure to control the sugars especially take medicines and check the sugars appropriately. If required, take insulin so that the sugars are appropriately controlled and they are in the normal levels. We can also use medicines. Your doctor will prescribe you medicines. We use medicines like pregabalin, gabapentin, amitryptyline and duloxetine. These are the 4 commonly used drugs rarely we use other medicines when the pain is very severe for a short period of time. Second is we have to ensure that the blood circulation is good in the feet. Regular walking, everyday for half an hour and regular exercises will ensure that the blood circulation is good. Once the blood circulation is good, the pain reduces and the burning sensation comes down. So control the sugars, correct the vitamin deficiencies, avoid alcohol and ensure that your sugars are under control you take medicines that are appropriate for the burning sensation in the feet and with these 4 methods, the burning sensation in the feet can be tackled, rarely we use something called as electrical nerve stimulation which is done in patients where the medicines do not work.

In fact, health experts recommend that diabetic people take good care of their skin, as diabetes can cause a number of skin problems. Staving off skin problems also requires good management of one’s blood sugar (glucose) levels. Skin problems arise due to high blood sugar levels, reduced sensitivity of nerves and poor blood circulation. Also, greater loss of fluid from the body due to high blood glucose levels can cause the skin to become dry and lead to itching. Here are some of the common skin problems linked to diabetes. 1. Acanthosis Nigricans This skin problem is characterized by darker skin in the creases of the neck that feels like velvet. In fact, this is one of the first signs that you may have diabetes, as it occurs due to insulin resistance. Less commonly, it affects areas like the face, inner thighs, elbows, knees and navel or belly button. 2. Necrobiosis Lipoidica Diabeticorum It generally affects the lower legs, where the skin becomes raised, yellow and waxy in appearance. Over time, the lesions develop a purple border and can even cause scarring. In severe cases, the lesions can ulcerate and become itchy and painful. 3. Digital Sclerosis People suffering from Type 1 diabetes can have digital sclerosis, which means thick, tight, waxy skin that develops on the back of the hands. Also, the joints of the fingers become stiff and cause mobility problems. Keeping your skin moisturized can help soften it, but controlling your blood sugar level is the only treatment for this problem. 4. Eruptive Xanthomatosis Uncontrolled diabetes can cause eruptive xanthomatosis, which is characterized by firm, yellow, pea-like skin growths. These small bumps have a red halo around them and cause a lot of itching. It usually occurs on the back of the hands, crook of the elbows, feet, arms and buttocks. Do your best to get your blood glucose levels down, as it is the main treatment for this problem. 5. Bullosis Diabeticorum Also known as diabetic blisters, this skin problem can occur on the back of the fingers, hands, toes, feet, and sometimes on the legs or forearms. These blisters may occur alone or in patches and resemble burn blisters. However, they are not very painful. Keeping your blood glucose level under control is the only treatment for these blisters. __________________________ ||CHECK OUT MY OTHER VIDEOS How to Get Rid of Acne FAST | Acne/Pimple Naturally Treatments https://youtu.be/KLP7pGDbpYc How to Remove Blackheads From Nose & Face (100%) || Get Rid of Blackheads at Home Naturally https://youtu.be/o0WAO2H1Q5s Natural Hair Growth | How to Grow Natural/Thicken Hairs Fast | Hair Growth Treatment (Men & Women) https://youtu.be/VmDFjpW5DRc How to Get Rid of DARK SPOTS in 3 DAYS | Remove DARK SPOTS, BLACK SPOTS & ACNE SCARS on Face https://youtu.be/byd0hhnDXcI How to Get Rid of Milia on Face at Home Permanently | Milia Removal | White Bumps on Face https://youtu.be/w3hDzFXoU0A How to Get Clear, Glowing, Spotless Skin https://youtu.be/x5q-or4cwLw _________________________ ||RELATED SEARCHES symptoms of diabetes, common skin problems linked to diabetes, diabetes skin problems, diabetes symptoms, diabetes, signs of diabetes, what is diabetes, type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, diabetes symptoms in men, type 1 diabetes symptoms, signs of diabetes in women, diabetes symptoms in women, signs of diabetes in men, symptoms of type 2 diabetes, what causes diabetes, causes of diabetes, early signs of diabetes in men, symptom, diabetic, diabetes type 2,symptoms,diabetic skin conditions pictures, diabetes itchy skin all over, best lotion for diabetic dry skin, diabetes itching skin treatment, diabetic itching cure, diabetes signs, diabetic dermopathy, diabetes causes. _________________________ ||ABOUT CHANNEL On my channel you will find videos about health & beauty tips, health care, mental health, natural cure, natural home remedies, skin care, weight loss & other skin related problems and much more. This channel is an output for positive lifestyle content, simple choices on a daily basis shape your life and the world around you.Share my channel with your friends & family. 5 Early Symptoms of Diabetes | Diabetes Skin Problems | What Causes Diabetes | Signs of Diabetes https://youtu.be/87TCC0iWB3Q

The burning sensations can vary from mild to severe and can be acute or chronic in nature. Cold water Cold water is one of the best home remedies for burning feet. Cold water provides quick relief from tingling, numbness and swelling of the feet. Fill a foot tub with cold water. Soak your feet in it for a few minutes. Let your feet rest and then soak up again. Repeat several times a day. Apple cider vinegar As apple cider vinegar helps balance the pH level of your body, it can also be used to treat foot burns. Mix one or two tablespoons of raw and unfiltered apple cider vinegar in a glass of warm water. Drink it once a day for better results. You can also fill a tub with hot water and add two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. Also, mix a little sea salt or Epsom salt. Soak your feet in it for about 20 minutes twice a day. Turmeric Turmeric contains a good amount of the compound known as curcumin, which helps improve blood flow and circulation throughout the body. In addition, turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce feelings of burning and pain in the feet. Mix one or two teaspoons of turmeric in a glass of warm water and drink it. Do this twice a day to get better results. You can also prepare a paste of two tablespoons of turmeric and enough water and apply it to the affected area once or twice a day for a few days. But, keep in mind that this remedy can stain your feet. Ginger Ginger is another effective remedy for burning sensations in the feet. Several active components in ginger help increase the circulation of blood in the body, which in turn provides quick relief from burning sensations. Mix a teaspoon of ginger juice with a little warm coconut oil or olive oil. Massage your feet and legs with this mixture for 10 to 15 minutes once a day. Alternatively, you can drink two to three cups of ginger tea daily. You can even try a hot ginger tea to soak to decrease swelling and pain. Massage Gently massaging your feet with a little oil is another great way to relieve the discomfort associated with burning feet. The massage has a calming effect and helps increase blood circulation in the feet. Heat some olive oil, coconut or mustard. Apply the oil to the affected area. Massage with upward movements with firm fingers for at least 10 minutes. Do this daily before bedtime and early in the morning to ensure proper circulation. Exercise It is important to stay physically active to help improve the circulation of blood in your body and prevent problems in the nervous system. Try walking barefoot through soft grass or sand for a few minutes when you have a burning sensation. This will relieve the symptoms quickly. Exercises such as jogging and running should be done regularly. These are excellent for increasing circulation throughout the body.

This Happens If You Dip Your Feet In Vinegar One Night A Week!! Apple cider vinegar is an oriental product with great benefits and uses. Not only culinary but also medicinal, the origin of this product is completely natural and is achieved through a process of fermentation of sugars from fresh and ripe apple. Apple cider vinegar, in addition to its very characteristic aroma, has substances that are biologically active, with which it is possible to eliminate bacteria and germs that can be very harmful for our organism. ACV is also used for cleaning our home, disinfect the body and conservation of food, in addition is being used to treat breathing and digestive problems and even to lose weight. Apple cider vinegar foot bath Our feet, often quite forgotten, have a lot of germs due to its permanent exhibition and lack of oxygen. Therefore, it is very normal to have dry feet, asperities, calluses and even fungal infections. Using ACV in your foot bath will ensure a deep and healthy disinfection. Also, you will kill fungi and microbes responsible for bad odor. All you need to do: Heat a little water to a medium temperature, between 16 to 18 °C you can opt for water at a higher temperature, but never hot. Fill a bowl deep enough to submerge your feet. Add a glass of ACV. Add a few drops of lavender essential oil if you want to improve your sleep quality. It will also help to improve the aroma. The foot bath should never last less than 30 minutes. https://youtu.be/IrgQz9i4eow

I Had No Idea Feeling THIS At Night Could Be So Serious… Thank God I Know!

Statistics put out by Florida Hospital show that over five million adults in the U.S. suffer from moderate to severe restless legs syndrome (RLS). On average, one in 10 adults suffer from this condition, and over one million school-aged children in the country have RLS. Symptoms include an overwhelming urge to move the legs, and aching, itching, throbbing, and even creeping sensations on the legs at night. Not many physical tests can be done to properly diagnose this frustrating condition, but there are some highly likely causes that are thought to trigger and aggravate restless legs syndrome. In an exclusive look below, we explore some of these causes, and go through a few simple ways you can make changes to your lifestyle, to better remedy your symptoms. From spending time outside to cutting out harmful substances, these tips will undoubtedly help soothe your symptoms. Scroll down to read more about the causes and treatments for restless legs syndrome, and let us know your thoughts in the comments section below! It’s tricky to pin down the exact definition and triggers of RLS, but generally, it can be considered as a type of sleep disorder. It stems from a disorder of the nervous system, and is characterized by an overwhelming urge to move the legs during sleep, according to WebMD. Symptoms include intense burning and itching sensations, aching in the legs, and a throbbing and creeping feeling on the legs. It occurs when a person is resting, relaxing, or sleeping, and normally gets worse as the night goes on. Most people with RLS have trouble falling and staying asleep, and according to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, the condition often leads to extreme exhaustion and fatigue during the day. In the worst cases, RLS can lead to impaired memory and even depression. Though there are no specific tests to diagnose restless legs syndrome, doctors usually observe the symptoms and other possible existing health conditions to determine the severity of RLS. In many cases, genetics play a role in RLS. According to the NIH, many people with RLS also have family members who suffer from the disorder. One of the known factors associated with RLS is that of chronic diseases. WebMD states that symptoms of certain medical conditions including Parkinson’s disease, kidney failure, peripheral neuropathy, and diabetes, among others, are known to overlap with symptoms of RLS. Some medications are known to worsen the symptoms of RLS. Anti-nausea drugs, antidepressants, allergy medications, and antipsychotic drugs all contain some levels of sedatives and antihistamines, making them prime suspects for affecting the nerves during sleep, according to NIH. In some cases, RLS symptoms dissipate after patients stop taking these medications — but remember that it’s always crucial to speak with your doctor first, before doing so. Some women note that they have experienced symptoms of RLS during their pregnancy, particularly during the last trimester, according to NIH. According to the Journal of Midwifery & Women’s Health, about 26 percent of pregnant women in the country have RLS, starting in the third trimester. This could be caused by a range of factors, including mineral deficiencies, hormonal changes, or imbalances in their dopamine levels, according to Healthline. On the bright side, RLS symptoms disappear almost completely within a month after delivery. RLS can probably also be caused by the lack of sleep, insomnia, or fluctuations in sleep patterns. According to WebMD, the most natural way to start reversing these symptoms is to sleep on time and to sleep earlier during the night, and to eliminate as many noises and disturbances as possible. Substances including alcohol and tobacco are also thought to be culprits that may aggravate and even trigger symptoms of RLS. Doctors advise against the overconsumption of alcohol, in case it might intensify already existing symptoms of the condition. There are helpful medications to deal with restless legs syndrome, but the truth is, not all drugs are effective for everyone. Additionally, many medications may start to lose their effectiveness over time. But you can do a variety of things to ease the symptoms. Start by implementing slight lifestyle changes, including simple exercises, a more regular sleep schedule, and the elimination of alcohol and tobacco. You can also massage your legs frequently to ease the irritation. WebMD recommends gently massaging your legs to “counter-stimulate”... What Causes Painful, Numb or Tingling Feet?

More Data on Nutritional Yeast Tablets: https://shop.drberg.com/nutritional-y... Dr. Berg talks about painful feet and potential reasons for this. It could be too much uric acid in the body from your kidneys not functioning, too much protein in the diet or even when you start a ketogenic diet, your uric acid levels can temporarily increase in which case you can take lemon juice, citrates or even potassium citrates. However, many times if the feet pain is burning, tingling or numbness, this could related to high sugars. High sugar destroys the nerves, it also depletes the B-vitamins, interfering the nerve conduction in the body. Nutritional yeast is a good source of B-vitamins. Peripheral neuropathy can be helped with the fat soluble B1-vitamin called benfotiamine. Cellulitis - Do Treatments Work? Symptoms

03:04
Cellulitis - Do Treatments Work? Symptoms What is cellulitis? It is caused by bacteria that gets in through open skin and infects the surrounding area where it came in from. The most common bacteria that cause cellulitis are called Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus. Now, you might have heard of these in the past, and that's because they're very common causes of infection. In fact, Staph is usually found in healthy skin and lungs. Chemical changes to the bacteria or its environment, that's to say your body, would cause it to develop a disease or an infection. Although a cut or scratch is the most common site for cellulitis infection, even unbroken skin can become infected. The area where the skin is infected can cause a great deal of discomfort because of its symptoms -- redness, swelling, and tenderness in the area or the area adjacent to the infected part, accompanied by fever and sometimes chills. Who are at risk? Anyone of any age can develop it. It's more commonly seen in the really young, whose immune systems are still developing, and the elderly whose immune systems are naturally less resistant to disease-causing bacteria due to age. The elderly's skin is also less intact, naturally, because of the aging process. And of course, genetics will always play a role as it does in most disease processes; anyone with a family history of chronic cellulitis may develop the condition more easily than others, and may even suffer the same repetitive condition. What causes cellulitis? People who have a tendency for poor skin integrity are also at risk. Diabetics, people who have psoriasis, people who are HIV positive, or those that suffer a chronic fungal infection are at risk for developing this skin condition if their chronic disease isn't managed well enough or if their body isn't coping well enough to fight off infection. Treatment for cellulitis? It's very important that you do not diagnose yourself. Strep and staph are very common causative agents of a wide variety of skin diseases. You must seek medical attention if you suspect that you have it. There are other medical conditions that have the same symptoms as it does, such as Lyme disease which is commonly misdiagnosed as cellulitis. This infection might also be your body hinting that you have an underlying disease that made you susceptible to it, so it's very important to see your GP. The way to find out for sure is to see a doctor who will order a bunch of diagnostic tests to confirm what's really causing the swelling, the redness, and other such symptoms. In addition, taking antibiotics without the supervision of a professional could do your body more harm than good. Depending on how bad the infection is, your doctor might strongly advise that you allow him to drain the affected area. Otherwise, managing the underlying condition, if any exist, and following an antibiotic treatment course prescribed by your doctor will make the disorder go away. For any questions regarding cellulitis, its treatment and its causes, please leave them in the comments section below. Thanks for watching and I hope the information helps. Tingling Feet and Hands: An Early Warning of Neuropathy

03:57
Tingling in the hands and feet seems trivial but it may be an important warning symptom of peripheral neuropathy and diabetes. http://www.theveincarecentre.co.uk/contact Tingling or numbness affecting your feet may seem like a trivial symptom of no real importance. However, in this video, I will explain why this symptom may be very important with regard to your health in general and why you should not ignore it. Tingling hands, feet, or both is an extremely common and bothersome symptom. Such tingling can sometimes be entirely innocent and temporary. For example, it could result from pressure on nerves when your arm is bent under your head as you fall asleep. Or it could be from pressure on nerves when you cross your legs too long. In either case, the "pins and needles" effect -- which is usually painless -- is soon relieved by removing the pressure that caused it. In many cases, however, tingling in the hands, feet, or both can be severe, occurring at irregular times or continuously day and night. It also can accompany other symptoms. such as pain, itching, numbness, and muscle wasting. In such cases, tingling may be a sign of nerve damage. Such nerve damage is known by doctors as peripheral neuropathy because it affects nerves distant from the brain and spinal cord, often in the hands and feet. There are more than 100 different types of peripheral neuropathy. Over time, peripheral neuropathy can worsen, resulting in decreased mobility and even disability.  Diabetes is one of the most common causes of peripheral neuropathy, accounting for about a third of cases. In diabetic neuropathy, tingling and other symptoms often first develop in both feet and go up the legs, followed by tingling and other symptoms that affect both hands and go up the arms. About two-thirds of people with diabetes have mild to severe forms of nerve damage. In many cases, these symptoms are the first signs of diabetes. So here is the main point I want to make, tingling and numbness in the feet may be the first signs that you have a serious peripheral neuropathy and that you may have diabetes. Diabetes puts you at risk of heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, blindness and a long list of other serious complications. So that tingling you have could be your only warning sign of a serious complication developing elsewhere in your body. Don’t ignore this symptom and please get a check up.

Why Do I Get Itchy Feet/Skin at Night | How To Get Rid of ITCHY FEET ??

05:14
Why Do I Get Itchy Feet/Skin at Night | How To Get Rid of ITCHY FEET ?? https://www.epicnaturalhealth.com/remedies-for-itchy-feet-at-night/ Why does your skin itch at night? Itchy skin at night, called nocturnal pruritus, can be severe enough to disrupt sleep regularly. Why this happens can range from natural causes to more serious health concerns. Natural causes For most people, natural body functions could be behind your nightime itch. These functions change at night. For example, your body temperature and the blood flow to your skin both increase in the evening, warming your skin. A rise in skin temperature can make you feel itchy. On top of these factors, your skin loses more water at night. As you might have noticed during the dry winter months, parched skin itches. When itchiness hits during the day, work and other activities distract you from the annoying sensation. At night there are fewer distractions, which can make the itch feel even more intense. The other major cause of itch feet at night is athlete’s foot, which is a fungal infection of the skin of the feet. There are two basic types of athlete’s foot – one type that affects the bottom of the foot and the other type that affects the area between the toes. Most people who develop athlete’s foot have one type or the other, but it is possible to have both at the same time Health-related causes Along with conditions I have just described there are a number of different health conditions can cause itchy skin to become worse at night. These include: skin diseases such as (eczema) and psoriasis, bed bugs like scabies and lice, can make the problem worse kidney or liver disease iron deficiencys thyroid problems psychological conditions such as stress, and depression, restless legs syndrome allergic reactions to substances like chemicals, drugs, foods, or cosmetics pregnancy diabetes Treating itchy skin at night Here are a few home remedies to relieve itchy skin at night. Alternative treatments To help you sleep, you could try melatonin. This natural hormone helps regulate sleep. When you take it nightly, it has a sedative effect that can help you sleep through the itch. You can purchase it Home remedies and lifestyle changes If stress aggravates your skin, try techniques like meditation, yoga, or progressive muscle relaxation to calm your mind. You can also meet with a therapist for cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). This program helps reverse some of the harmful thoughts and actions that aggravate your stress. You can also try these home remedies: Apply a lubricating, alcohol-free moisturizer like these to your skin during the day and before bed. You can find more info clicking in the link or in the description Apply cool, wet compresses to soothe the itch. Take a bath in lukewarm water and  oatmeal  Colloidal oatmeal binds to your skin and forms a protective barrier. It also helps hold in moisture and ease inflammation. If that isn't enough, it cleans your skin, too. People have used it for centuries to ease irritated skin. Turn on a humidifier. It will add moisture to the air in your bedroom while you sleep. What not to do if you have itchy skin at night If your skin itches at night, here are a few triggers to avoid: Don’t go to bed in anything itchy. Wear pajamas made from soft, natural fibers, like cotton or silk. Keep the temperature in your room cool — around 60 to 65°F. Overheating can make you itch. Avoid caffeine and alcohol before bed. They widen blood vessels and send more blood to warm your skin. Don’t use any cosmetics, perfumed creams, scented soaps, or other products that might irritate your skin. Don’t scratch! You’ll irritate your skin even more. Keep your fingernails short in case you do feel the urge to scratch at night. When to see your doctor See your primary care doctor or a dermatologist if: the itching doesn’t improve within two weeks you can’t sleep because the itch is so intense you have other symptoms, such as weight loss, fever, weakness, or a rash You really have to be diagnosed first and then from there an appropriate treatment can then be given

9 Diabetes Pain Symptoms, You Should Not Ignore

07:43
9 Diabetes Pain Symptoms, You Should Not Ignore: 1. Increased urination, excessive thirst If you need to urinate frequently—particularly if you often have to get up at night to use the bathroom—it could be a symptom of diabetes. The kidneys kick into high gear to get rid of all that extra glucose in the blood, hence the urge to relieve yourself, sometimes several times during the night. The excessive thirst means your body is trying to replenish those lost fluids. 2. weight loss Overly high blood sugar levels can also cause rapid weight loss, say 10 to 20 pounds over two or three months—but this is not a healthy weight loss. Because the insulin hormone isn't getting glucose into the cells, where it can be used as energy, the body thinks it's starving and starts breaking down protein from the muscles as an alternate source of fuel. 3. hunger Excessive pangs of hunger, another sign of diabetes, can come from sharp peaks and lows in blood sugar levels. When blood sugar levels plummet, the body thinks it hasn't been fed and craves more of the glucose that cells need to function. 4. skin itch Itchy skin, perhaps the result of dry skin or poor circulation, can often be a warning sign of diabetes, as are other skin conditions, such as acanthosis nigricans. "This is a darkening of the skin around the neck or armpit area," Dr. Collazo-Clavell says. 5. Slow healing Infections, cuts, and bruises that don't heal quickly are another classic sign of diabetes. This usually happens because the blood vessels are being damaged by the excessive amounts of glucose traveling the veins and arteries. This makes it hard for blood—needed to facilitate healing—to reach different areas of the body. 6. Yeast infections "Diabetes is considered an immunosuppressed state," Dr. Collazo-Clavell explains. That means heightened susceptibility to a variety of infections, although the most common are yeast (candida) and other fungal infections, she says. Fungi and bacteria both thrive in sugar-rich environments. 7. irritability "When people have high blood sugar levels, depending on how long it's been, they can get used to chronically not feeling well," says Dr. Collazo-Clavell. "Sometimes that's what brings them into the office." Getting up to go to the bathroom several times during the night will make anyone tired, as will the extra effort your body is expending to compensate for its glucose deficiency. And being tired will make you irritable. 8. blurry vision Having distorted vision and seeing floaters or occasional flashes of light are a direct result of high blood sugar levels. The good news is that this symptom is reversible once blood sugar levels are returned to normal or near normal. But let your blood sugar go unchecked for long periods and the glucose will cause permanent damage, possibly even blindness. And that's not reversible. 9. Tingle Tingling and numbness in the hands and feet, along with burning pain or swelling, are signs that nerves are being damaged by diabetes. Still, as with vision, if blood sugar levels are allowed to run rampant for too long, neuropathy (nerve damage) will be permanent. "That's why we try to control blood sugar as quickly and as well as possible," she says. 10. blood test Several tests are used to check for diabetes, but a single test result is never enough on its own to diagnose diabetes (the test has to be repeated). One is the fasting plasma glucose test, which checks your blood sugar after a night (or eight hours) of not eating. Blood glucose above 126 milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL) on two occasions means you have diabetes. The normal cutoff is 99 mg/dL while a blood sugar level of 100 to 125 mg/dL is considered prediabetes, a serious condition on its own. See Our Another Vedeos: 1. 9 Foot Problems Your Feet Reveal About Your Health

06:19
9 foot problems Your Feet Reveal About Your Health In this video I will reveal what could be lurking behind your most common foot problems. I will also show you what it may mean about your general health and what you can do about it Let’s get straight into it No 1. Sudden Hair loss on the feet and toes What this might mean is you have Serious circulation problems You may think not having hair on your toes is a good thing especially during sandal season, but having hair on your toes is actually a good thing. Get it checked out Sudden baldness can be a sign that your feet aren’t getting enough blood flow to sustain hair growth. Expect your doctor to check for a pulse in your feet, which is an indication that your heart may not be able to pump enough blood to your feet. 2. You feel Frequent foot cramping What this may mean is your suffering from either Dehydration or nutritional deficiencies Randomly occurring cramps are extremely common in the feet so don’t get too worried. They can be as serious as circulation and nerve issues, or as harmless as a nutritional deficiency. If you’re exercising, be sure to drink plenty of water, since dehydration often leads to muscle cramping. You might also try upping your intake of potassium, magnesium, and calcium (with your doctor’s go-ahead, of course), since their deficiencies make cramps more common. Or you may like to try For relief, soaking your feet in a warm foot bath and stretching your toes toward your nose, not pointing down. If the cramps don’t let up, see your doctor who can test for circulation issues or nerve damage. 3. A sore that won’t heal What this may mean – well its probably a sore that’s taking time to heal but it could also mean Diabetes or skin cancer Stubborn sores are red flags for diabetes. Uncontrolled glucose levels in the blood can lead to nerve damage all the way down to your feet, which means any cuts, sores, or scrapes can come and go without you ever feeling it. If infection sets in you could be in trouble. A non-healing wound can also be a sign of skin cancer. Melanoma can pop up anywhere on your body—even in between your toes—so be sure to include your feet in your regular skin checks. (Brush up on your mole-detecting skills here.) 4. constantly cold feet What this may mean: Hypothyroidism Hypothyroidism is the most common cause of feet that just can’t get warm. And if you’re over 40, you could be living with a sluggish thyroid without even knowing it. Unfortunately, cold feet are the least of your problems—hypothyroidism can also cause hair loss, fatigue, unexplained weight gain, and depression. Get your feet feeling toasty again by heading to your doctor for a simple blood test, and you’ll start warming up shortly after starting the daily medication. 5. A Sudden enlarged big toe What it might mean: Gout or other inflammatory issue if you The sudden onset of a red, hot, swollen, or painful joint then get immediate medical attention,”. It may be nothng or it maybe something more serious such as gout, inflammatory arthritis, infection, or trauma. 6. Bunions What it might mean: An Inherited faulty foot structure If you thought your bunions were caused exclusively by a closet full of gorgeous (yet restrictive and often painful) shoes, you can stop blaming the boutique. Bunions are actually a sign of a flawed foot structure that’s often inherited and aggravated by inappropriate shoes. 7. Heel pain especially in the morning What it might mean: Plantar fasciitis You can’t mistake it—that sharp pain in the bottom of the heel when you get out of bed or stand up from a chair. It’s a strain of the ligament that supports the arch of the foot. whether you did it by wearing too-tight shoes, walking in flip-flops, or wearing worn-out workout trainers, the longer you let it go, the longer it takes to heal. Your podiatrist will probably tell you to ease up on walking at first, rethink your footwear, and adopt a good stretching routine. 8. Flaky, itchy, or peeling skin What this may mean: a Fungal infection Even if you’re never donned an athletic jersey in your life, you could still be walking around with athlete’s foot—which is basically a fungal infection. It causes itchiness and peeling, and can be treated by applying anti-fungal cream and keeping your feet as cool and dry as possible during the day.

4 Diabetes Symptoms in Women You Probably don't know

03:22
Diabetes is one of the most significant lifestyle diseases we see today. In just 25 years, the global incidence of diabetes has doubled, according to the World Health Organization. More than 15 million women are living with type 2 diabetes in the United States alone, and another 40 million are prediabetic. While many signs and symptoms of diabetes are common in men and women, women experience specific unique symptoms. Here are 4 Diabetes Symptoms in women: 1. Urinary Tract Infections The risk of UTIs is higher in women with diabetes. UTIs occur when bacteria gain access to the urinary tract, where they colonize and cause infection. Signs and symptoms include painful urination, burning sensation during urination, fever, and cloudy urine. High blood glucose levels, poor circulation and the inability of immune cells to efficiently fight bacteria are all causes of UTIs. 2. Poor Sexual Health High levels of blood sugar often cause a condition called diabetic neuropathy. This is a condition in which nerves lose their ability to transmit signals between the organs and brain efficiently. This can lead to partial or complete loss of sensation in parts of the body including feet, hands, and legs. The vagina is an organ with a vibrant network of nerves. It is, thus, one of the most sensitive organs of the female body. Neuropathy may significantly affect sensation in the vagina, leading to a lower sexual drive in women. 3. Vaginal and Oral Infections Overgrowth of a yeast called Candida albicans causes vaginal and oral yeast infections, called “thrush.” High levels of glucose in the blood are favorable for the growth of this yeast. Vaginal infections are accompanied by symptoms like soreness, itching, vaginal discharge and pain during sex. When the infection is oral, a cottage cheese-like coating is seen on the tongue and the inside of the mouth. 4. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). PCOS is a metabolic syndrome caused due to hormonal imbalance in the female body. It affects fertility in women and causes irregular periods. Other symptoms include facial hair, acne, loss of hair, weight gain, depression, and skin darkening. Females with PCOS are at high risk of getting diabetes. PCOS is thus an important warning sign of an impending diabetic condition.

A lack of vitamins How it’s manifested: A lack of certain vitamins (such as vitamins E, B1, B6, and B12) can often cause a tingling sensation in the fingers of the left hand or in the left leg. Damage to the spine How it’s manifested: Various problems with the spine make themselves known through the little finger of the left hand. This is the result of too much pressure on, and harm done to, the nerves. What to do: Stretch your back as often as possible; try to do some yoga, gymnastics, or swimming. Avoid spending long periods in a sitting position. Carpal tunnel syndrome How it’s manifested: Carpal tunnel syndrome is often expressed through the thumb, index, and middle finger. Due to certain actions that are repeated again and again as part of a person’s job or lifestyle, tendons can swell up, causing numbness in the hand. What to do: Simple gymnastics and stretching the joints can help prevent the appearance of carpal tunnel syndrome. Problems with blood circulation How it’s manifested: Numbing of the fingertips on the right hand can occur because of pressure on the surface nerves or trauma to the hand or shoulder joint. Tingling in the right hand can also be caused by certain cardiovascular diseases, which have an effect on the general flow of blood to the extremities. Buerger’s disease How it’s manifested: This illness mostly affects smokers. The blood flow is disrupted by the constant intake of nicotine, which in turn leads to a lack of minerals in the body. This causes numbness first in the fingers, then the whole arm. Diabetes How it’s manifested: One of the first signs of diabetes is a tingling sensation that works its way up from the feet to parts of the arms. This occurs because of a reduction in the flow of blood to certain areas and because of damage to nerve endings and fibers. What to do: Type 1 diabetes is treated with the help of injections of insulin. Type 2 diabetes is most often connected with a poor diet, so a blood test and consultation with a doctor should be carried out first of all.
