http://www.englishanyone.com/power-learning/ Learn to express yourself confidently in fluent English and sound like a native speaker with our FREE Power Learning video course! The Sounds of English, a FREE, comprehensive series of 12 videos, teaches phonics and pronunciation to non-native and beginning native learners of English. Learn to spell, read and pronounce English like native speakers with these easy lessons. Great for self-study, or the whole family! Build confidence and get fluent faster! Lesson 1 - The Sounds of English Learn the alphabet, short vowel and consonants sounds, and begin developing great pronunciation. Welcome to The Sounds of English with EnglishAnyone.com! The three primary colors are red, yellow and blue. If you mix these colors, you can create a whole rainbow of new colors. The English alphabet has 26 letters. Mix them correctly and you will be able to spell, read and say the more than 40 different sounds of English. English can be confusing! We know! Why do some letters make different sounds? "On" becomes "one." "One" becomes "phone." And why do different letters make the same sounds? "Newt" and "suit" both share the same "oo" sound. Native speakers can also get confused. We misspell words all the time! But don't worry; If we learned English, anyone can! If you watch these simple, fun lessons, you will learn new words, improve your pronunciation, gain the confidence to speak, and start getting fluent! Because we want you to learn quickly, you won't see every English letter and sound combination in this video series. But, we'll show you some words that break the rules and you'll be learning more than enough to teach yourself English. Now, sit back, relax and start learning! Great pronunciation begins with mastering the alphabet! Letter sounds change, but letter names do not. So, let's learn the alphabet first. Here we go. Please repeat after me. (Repeat alphabet letters) Now, let's forget the names of the letters and learn some sounds. The sounds of English are like music. The vowel sounds are the melody of English. The vowels are A, E, I, O, U, and sometimes Y. Vowels can make many sounds, but we will teach you the short vowel sounds first. Please repeat the short vowel sounds. (Repeat short vowel sounds) Very good! The other letters of the alphabet are the consonants. These sounds are like the beat in the music of English. ("tuh," "kuh," "sh," "ch") Consonants also make many sounds, but you will learn the short consonants sounds first. You'll hear two sounds for the letters C and G. The hard C sounds like this (kuh). The soft C sounds like this (sss). The hard G sounds like this (guh). The soft G sounds like this (juh). Usually, if the letters A, O or U follow the letters C or G, then C and G make their hard sounds. If the letters E or I follow the letters C and G, then C and G make their soft sounds. Please repeat the short consonant sounds. (Repeat short consonant sounds) Great job! Review this lesson any time! In lesson two, we'll start building words! Videos gratis de aprendizaje de inglés para niveles principiantes, intermedios y avanzados. http://www.firststepreading.com | This video teaches your child how to blend 3 letters together to read Short Vowel A 3 letter words. This video shows your child to use both letter sounds and word families to help him/her blend 3 letters together to read words. Reading 3 Letters words is taught by moving a Consonant closer and closer to Short Vowel A Word Family Endings. Blending sounds to make words is a learning process. The first step of blending is when your child states the correct sounds for the letter characters that are being blended for example the word, "Cat" will often first be read as "C"- "at." With practice your child will learn to further blend the sounds to correctly say "Cat." Your child will learn to read 3 letter Short Vowel A words in the Practice Reading Book. (Practice Reading Book 1: Pages 1-26).

Watch more How to Teach Your Child to Read videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/460490-What-Is-Phonemic-Awareness-Reading-Lessons Hi. my name is Anne Glass. I'm a reading and learning specialist at a private school in New York City and I work with Kindergarteners through 3rd graders on Reading, Word Study, and Writing Skills. In addition to be a reading specialist and learning specialist, I'm also a parent and today I'm going to talk to you about topics in reading. Phonological or phonemic awareness is a crucial factor which predicts how easily your child will develop early reading skills. It has to do with developing a sensitivity to the sound structure in oral language. At its most sophisticated level, it means phonemic awareness. Phonological awareness is the bigger umbrella which subsumes phonemic awareness. Phonological awareness can refer to noticing the words in a sentence, the syllables in a multi-syllabic word, and phonemic awareness is much more specific to the individual sounds in a single word. We call these individual sounds, phonemes. Phonemic awareness is something that develops over time and can, in fact, be taught and should be taught. Phonemes are the very smallest units of sound in words. For example, in the word bug, there are 3 phonemes. Bu-uh-ga. A child with sophisticated phonemic awareness would be able to substitute the bu- for ha, to get the word, hug, and she will also know that the initial sound changed, but the rest of the word didn't. When children receive explicit instruction in phonemic awareness, including rhyming games and substitution and segmenting tasks with individual phonemes, they are much more successful than their same peers who did not receive similar instruction.

If you're going to take IELTS, start here! Your success on the IELTS is based on more than just practicing English skills. In this video, I'll show you the key steps you need to take to reach your target band score. I'll talk about setting your objectives, building your studying plan, and studying for each section of the exam. Many students get a low score on the IELTS and keep making the same mistakes over and over again. Save your time and your money by avoiding their mistakes. Watch this video and get it right the first time. Take the quiz to make sure: http://www.engvid.com/ielts-the-5-step-study-plan/ For grammar and writing help, you can also visit my site: http://www.WriteToTop.com For many more free lessons on IELTS preparation you can visit: http://www.engvid.com/english-exams/ielts/ For a free complete guide to the IELTS, go to: http://www.GoodLuckIELTS.com TRANSCRIPT Hi. Welcome to www.engvid.com. I'm Adam. Today we're going to look at an IELTS study plan, and as usual, when I look at IELTS, or TOEFL, or any of the tests, I'm going to speak a little bit faster so those of you taking the test can get a little bit more listening practice. And everybody else, this is very good practice for you as well to listen to slightly faster English. So we're going to look at IELTS. And for those of you who are just starting to prepare, starting to think about taking this test, maybe you want to go to university, maybe it's for immigration purposes, whatever, you're just starting out, you've just signed up for the test, now you need to start preparing for it. So here's a five-point study plan. And number one is the most important part because... And I'll tell you in a minute why. Know the test. Now, what does this mean? It means that you have to know exactly what you're about to face. I've met many test takers who've taken the test maybe several times, and the first two or three times they got a really low score because they still didn't really know what was coming. Right? They didn't understand how the test is structured, what the timing is like, all of these things. So, know the test, means: Know the structure. There are four sections; listening, reading, writing, speaking. Make sure you know how each of them works, how much time is going to be used for each one. In the listening section you have four sections, in the reading section you have three passages to read, in the writing sections you have... Section you have two tasks that you have to complete. In the speaking section you're going to be speaking with a native English speaker face to face, one on one for about 12 to 15 minutes. Make sure you know exactly what they're going to be asking you, what you're going to be expected to answer back. Okay? So know the structure of the test. Know the timing. You have 40 minutes, roughly, for the listening section, including a 10-minute time allotment for copying your answers from the question sheet to an answer sheet. This is very, very important. Know what to do that. If you're finished writing your answers on your answer sheet before the 10 minutes are up, you can't go to the reading section. You have to sit and wait, close your eyes, relax, etc. Make sure you know the question types that you're going to face in the listening, and the reading, and the writing of course, and the speaking. Knowing the question types will make sure that you aren't surprised by anything. Okay? You do not want to have surprises on test day. Know the question types, prepare for them, begin to think about how to answer them. Okay? Make sure you know all the directions. Every section of the test will have its own set of directions. Do not spend time reading these or listening to these during the test. You should know all of the directions long beforehand, you should memorize them. That way, you don't spend time reading them, you go straight to the task at hand. Okay? So know the test very well. Now, the best way to actually know the test is to practice taking the test. Practice the test. Now, I don't mean do, like, 10 minutes here, 10 minutes there, 15 minutes here. I want you to sit down at least once a week from the time you registered or started thinking about it until the actual test day. There are lots of places where you can get full practice tests. The Cambridge books are excellent for that. They are past papers and they're real tests. Make sure that you do a full test at least once a week from beginning to the end. Give yourself three full hours undistracted. Now, what does this mean? When you go to the official test centre you cannot take your phone in with you. You do not have internet, you do not have music, you do not have anything. You have you in a room with a bunch of other people.

Sometimes parents, even educationalist, find it hard to perceive how a song-powered, joy filled, program like Jazzles, full of funny, humorous cartoons, can be at the cutting edge of closing the literacy gap in the public school system. Meeting/exceeding the Common Core State Standards for Kindergarten ELA helps! However, by far the greatest and most unique contribution to beginning reading is the Jazzles combination of a comprehensive, learning-style based pedagogy with carefully crafted song-powered multimedia resources. Combined, these promote emotional and intellectual engagement at extraordinary levels, and critically, create a high working memory for English language. This important bonus of using catchy music and songs, is beyond value for children from poor, ELL or NESB homes. Yes, Jazzles develops all six big ideas of reading, but it is also a 21st Century pedagogy - developing skills of visual literacy, communication, collaboration, critical thinking and problem-solving. At the center of the Jazzles pedagogy is 'word power'. Understanding words and how to use them, is the single most important factor in reading. It is also the biggest hurdle for our growing number of disadvantaged students. Jazzles excels at achieving vocabulary acquisition - through a combination of sequential, alliterative songs combined with opportunities to explore and expand a depth of word knowledge through creative arts, drama and related topic discussions. Strategies are included in the extensive 'Advanced ELA Lesson Plans'. It's a fact. The greater a child's active vocabulary, the greater their reading power, and no program does it better than Jazzles. Go to www.jazzlesela.com and download our free 'Blue Bus Blues' ELA Unit and experience how Jazzles works for your children.

Lesson 5 - Long Vowel Sounds Learn when vowels say their own letter name and when the sound of the letter y changes. In lessons two, three and four, you used the short vowel sounds in words. Remember, the short vowel sounds are "a," "e," "i," "o" and "u." In this lesson, you'll see some examples of single letters that make long vowel sounds. The long vowel sounds are the names of the letters A, E, I, O, U. Listen carefully to the long vowel sounds these letters make. (Repeat words) The words I, he, she and we also have vowels that say their own name. You will see them everywhere and remember them naturally. The letter Y can also make long vowel sounds. The rule for Y is easy. If Y is the last letter of a word with one sound, then says "I." If Y is the last letter of a word with two or more sounds, then it says "E." Here are some words with one sound. (Repeat words) Here are words with two sounds. Listen carefully. (Repeat words) If I is the last letter of a word, it usually makes the long E sound. Ski and taxi are two examples. Great job! In the next lesson, you'll learn some interesting spelling rules and some more new sounds! تعلم اللغة الإنجليزية بالطريقة الصوتية 영어 포 닉스 내용 aprender la fonética Inglés học tiếng Anh phát âm aprender Inglês phonics เรียนรู้ภาษาอังกฤษออกเสียง выучить английский язык акустика apprendre l'anglais phonétique 英語フォニックスを学ぶ Učí se angličtinu phonics Free beginning, intermediate and advanced English learning videos! Your baby can Learn and your toddler can read everything! To see more proven results and countless success stories sent by ecstatic parents and to download your copy of the said program go to: ►► http://children-learning-reading.org ◄◄ You can also "quickly" and "easily" teach your child to "really" read and "decode" ALL different words and sentences (NOT just memorize some word shapes!) and become a fast and fluent Reader. For parents looking for reasons of why children should read, we've compiled a list below, in no particular order. ✓1. Reading expands a child's vocabulary. ✓2.The act of reading works as an exercise to improve reading fluency and comprehension. ✓3. You can't comprehend what you can't read. ✓4. Early reading skills directly relates to a child's future academic success. ✓5. The more you read, the better you are at it. This is a simple fact. ✓6. This is described by the Matthew Effect of reading where early success in reading leads to increased success later on, and conversely, children who are poor readers will have difficulty catching up, and some never do. ✓7. Reading early helps build independence and self confidence. ✓8. It opens up a whole new world of understanding and comprehension of the world around the child when the child is able to read. ✓9. It helps children make more sense of the world around them. ✓10. For safety! Early reading allows children to read and understand important labels and warning signs - such as "poison", "stop", "beware of dogs", "danger", and so on. ✓11. It increases your knowledge. The more your read, the more you know. ✓12. It takes you to places you've never been to before, and it enhances your imagination. ✓13. You learn about things, places, history, science, ideas, and so much more that you otherwise would not through reading. ✓14. Reading is a form of entertainment! It is fun! Would you rather sit your child in front of the idiot box or have your child read a fulfilling book? Rhetorical question. ✓15. Reading makes your child smarter, literally! That's a fact stated by researchers Cunningham and Stannovich in their report titled What Reading Does for the Mind. In their research, they also stated that reading not only increases your intelligence, it can even "help children compensate for modest levels of cognitive ability." ✓16. Reading to and with your children is one of the most rewarding bonding times for a family. ✓17. Reading helps you relax, and it is free! ✓18. Reading more helps you improve your writing skills. ✓19. it teaches you about grammar, sentence structures, and enhances your communication skills. ✓20. Books broaden your outlook and your horizons. Imagine you and your child a few weeks, months, or even years from now... Will your child still struggle to read, and will you still be frustrated and disappointed that your child have not learned to read or cannot read properly? Will your child end up being one of the 67% of all grade 4 children who cannot read proficiently? Or... Are you a proud parent of a happy, confident, smart child that learned to read early on and have developed superior reading and literacy skills that will benefit them for a life time? The choice is yours, but the future belongs to your child... If you are truly interested in helping your child develop the most important skill in life and you want to help your children develop to their fullest potential, then you owe it to yourself and your child to try the Children Learning Reading program. The majority of the people in this world look for the "miracle quick fix" that require little to no effort on their part, and they'll just keep looking until it's too late for their children. Children that learn to read early learn to love reading early on. I've found that all my older children just can't resist reading books that are in front of them, and the younger ones who can't read yet always emulate them by pretending to sound out and "read" the books. Children Learning Reading is a simple, step-by-step program that will help parents teach their children to read in just 12 weeks. Children as young as 2 or 3 to 7 years old can learn to read using this effective program. If you've had enough of all the other hyped "quick fix programs" that promise easy results - programs that sit your baby, your toddler or your child in front of the TV and computer for hours upon hours, that have failed you and your child in the past, and you are ready to teach your child to read the RIGHT way, then this is the honest and truly effective learning to read solution you've been searching for. Discover the best way to make your Baby and or your toddler super Genius: ► http://children-learning-reading.org ◄

Short easy lessons paced for younger viewers that teach addition and subtraction on a traditional abacus or soroban. *PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION BELOW FOR A LESSON MAP.* **Download the FREE worksheet that goes with each lesson.** http://thehevproject.blogspot.com/p/free-worksheets.html The abacus uses complementary numbers for calculation. In order to become familiar with the process, the lessons are broken down into the following 7 sections: 1- Lessons 1-2. Introduction to the Abacus. 2- Lessons 3-8. Simple Addition. This is REALLY simple math and does not involve the use of complementary numbers. MOST OLDER STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO SKIP THESE LESSONS once they are comfortable with moving the beads. 3- Lessons 9-11. Addition using Complementary numbers with respect to 5. 4- Lessons 12-17. Simple Subtraction. This is REALLY simple math and does not involve the use of complementary numbers. MOST OLDER STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO SKIP THESE LESSONS once they are comfortable with moving the beads. 5- Lessons 18-20. Subtraction using Complementary numbers with respect to 5. 6- Lessons 21-27. Addition and Subtraction using Complementary numbers with respect to 10. 7- Lessons 28-33. Addition and Subtractions using COMPOUND Complementary numbers with respect to 10. This is where you really start using the abacus. These lessons are the most challenging for students at any age. (a lot of people give up here) Make sure you have a solid understanding of complementary numbers with respect to 5 and 10 before attempting these lessons. ------------------------- The abacus is emerging as a re-discovered treasure in teaching children basic math. It is the original calculator and is still used in many parts of the world. Some ways that children benefit by learning the abacus are: -Visual representation of the number system. -Properly lining up numbers for addition. -Number placement and values (including decimals) -Whole brain development. Promotes the right brain development of visualization and the left brain development of logic and calculation. -Improved mental calculations The abacus is fun and clicks instantly with children of any age. Each lesson involves a short 7-10 min instructional video that teaches the fundamental principles behind the subject being taught with printable activities sheets to help with learning the abacus. You will need an abacus to do this course. Here is a link to where we purchased the abacus used in the video. (You can use any abacus so long as it has the same parts as the one shown in the video) The place I originally got the abaci from no longer sells them, but here is a place that sells a similar one. Please report if this link is no longer valid so I can up date this :) http://www.suntekstore.com/goods.php?id=14003722&utm_source=gbus&utm_medium=paid Ages: All ages. As soon as a child learns to count on their fingers they are ready to start using the abacus. However, ages 8 and up will benefit the most. Older kids will already be comfortable with basic math skills and will feel that these videos move a bit slow, but can still benefit significantly by learning the abacus. Lessons should be done in order as each lesson builds upon principles from the previous lesson.
