Installing an Amplifier? MOUNT THE FUSE CORRECTLY! - Jeep Build - CarAudioFabrication

12:20
When you install a car audio amplifier you MUST add a fuse to the main power lead. The fuse should be as close to the battery as possible. But sometimes it's hard to determine: Where do you mount the fuse holder in the engine compartment? In this video I make my own location by fabricating a fuse holder bracket and mounting it using a stock bolt location! A special thanks to Rockford Fosgate and Mobile Solutions for providing the gear and tools used in this video. ▼ ➜Materials and Tools List with Pics: http://goo.gl/1BBrHX ▼ Affiliate Product Links: ➜Dual Amp Install Kit: http://amzn.to/2bukEpe ➜ABS Plastic: http://amzn.to/1UhYItP ➜Silver Marker: http://amzn.to/28PFvtl ➜Special Plastic Jig Saw Blade: http://amzn.to/1Y3shFY ➜MS Smart Templates: http://goo.gl/E6Uo3O ➜MS Quick Radius Gauge: http://goo.gl/8mSNBo ➜MS Spiral Trim Bit: http://goo.gl/O6gbaJ ➜MS Chamfer Bit: http://goo.gl/lteosE ➜Router Push Bloc: http://amzn.to/1V9SxaA ➜Router: http://amzn.to/266spc6 ➜Template Tape: http://goo.gl/nmOLlK ➜Center Punch: http://amzn.to/1SddSyf ➜Drill and Tap Set: http://amzn.to/28PFLZ9 ➜Olfa Knife: http://amzn.to/1Sn5xwG ➜FREE weekly training program: http://goo.gl/5T4D7v ➜Box Designs http://goo.gl/sv1wam ➜Join Patreon! https://goo.gl/2jMVZ6 Here at Car Audio Fabrication I teach you how to Master Car Audio in an effort to Design, Build, and Install your ideal car audio system. The MOST DURABLE Apple component.

12:37
It's the fuse. The one component you can trust will rarely if ever blow on a Macbook, is the fuse. The LCD connector? Absolutely. Feedback line? Sure. The entire leg of a large MOSFET? Damn straight. But the fuse? The main link in the protection circuitry included in the beginning of the circuit? NO! It's like asking what the only thing that is guaranteed to NOT suck on a one year old Dyson vacuum cleaner is. 👉 Find tools used, recording gear, repair guides, chip sources, & cryptocurrency donation links below: 👉 CHIPS & COMPONENTS: › http://bit.ly/2jaAOXM 👉 TOOLS USED: ✓ Soldering Irons: › Louis' Hakko station(no tweezers): http://amzn.to/2cKkMyO › Paul's Hakko station(works with tweezers): http://amzn.to/2yMvWNy › Micro Soldering Pencil: http://amzn.to/2d5MWUP › Hot tweezers: http://amzn.to/2yMvZsZ › Quick 861DW hot air station: http://bit.ly/quick861dw ✓ IF THESE COST TOO MUCH, CHECK OUT THE TS100 SETUP: › TS100 soldering iron: https://amzn.to/2Gy1Fqz › Recommended tips: TS-C4: https://amzn.to/2GSDoz3 TS-KU https://amzn.to/2Elofke ✓ Preferred Soldering Tips › Fine: http://amzn.to/2d5MgPn › Flat: https://amzn.to/2JnsDBT › GPU wicking: http://amzn.to/2w8chtB › Micro soldering tip: http://amzn.to/2qUSFDh ✓ Microscopes: › Microscope: http://amzn.to/2iLrE16 › Barlow lens: http://amzn.to/2yMKdKf › LED light: http://amzn.to/2nzfPT2 › CHEAP alternative microscope: http://amzn.to/2rTlHbj ✓ Soldering/Repair Supplies: › Solder: http://amzn.to/2cKkxUp › Desoldering braid: Goot Wick http://bit.ly/2otflOX › Flux: http://bit.ly/amtechflux › Solder paste: http://bit.ly/amtechsolderpaste › THICK insulated jumper wire: https://amzn.to/2rvtD0A › THIN insulated jumper wire: https://amzn.to/2I47DQY › Kapton tape: http://amzn.to/2yN0xuq › Tweezers: http://amzn.to/2d5NBpi › Blades: X-Acto Knife Kit http://amzn.to/2ByWnvF › Freeze Spray: http://amzn.to/2BySozw ✓ Diagnostic tools: › USB amp meter: http://bit.ly/2B2Lu5W › On-Screen multimeter: http://amzn.to/2jtgY9K › Multimeter Probes: http://bit.ly/fineprobes › CHEAP multimeter: http://amzn.to/2zjkg8U › Bench PSU: PPS2116A: http://amzn.to/2ibannT › ZXWtool: https://amzn.to/2KVXiM9 ✓ Ultrasonic Cleaning: › ALL MACBOOKS & CELLPHONES: Crest P1200H-45: http://bit.ly/P1200H45 › PRE-TOUCHBAR MACBOOKS & CELLPHONES: Crest P500H-45: http://bit.ly/P500H45 › CELLPHONES ONLY: Crest P230H-45: http://bit.ly/P230H45 › Branson EC cleaning fluid: http://amzn.to/2cKlBrp ✓ Desk supplies: › Desk: http://amzn.to/2yMShdZ › Chair: http://amzn.to/2yNPv8u › Fume Extractor: http://amzn.to/2d5MGoD › Work mat: http://amzn.to/2yMtlTR › Outlets: http://amzn.to/2yNsZwo › Gloves: http://amzn.to/2iUfumS › Durable lightning cable: http://amzn.to/2yNHzUt › Fine tipped snippers: http://amzn.to/2HGt4XB ✓ Screwdrivers: › iPhone bottom screws: http://amzn.to/2yNwX8p › Macbook bottom screws: http://amzn.to/2AKMdVb › Torx T3: http://amzn.to/2zjtxxH › Torx T5 http://amzn.to/2BLNDn4 › Torx T6 http://amzn.to/2B0XIfA › Torx T8 http://amzn.to/2CpWp68 › Phillips #0: http://amzn.to/2AJaHhM › Phillips #000: http://amzn.to/2yNqsCl ✓ Boardview software used: http://openboardview.org/ ✓ RECORDING EQUIPMENT: › Work cam: http://amzn.to/2eA6i5f › Overhead cam: http://amzn.to/2eAH0oT › Work mic: http://amzn.to/2e74PVF › Home mic: https://amzn.to/2xfampC › Microscope camera: http://amzn.to/2icVQoG - mine is DISCONTINUED, this is the closest one I can find. › HDMI capture: http://amzn.to/2iyGcle 👉 REPAIR SERVICES: › We fix Macbooks & offer free estimates. http://bit.ly/RossmannLocalBoardRepair › Mail your Macbook in if you live far away! http://bit.ly/RossmannGlobalBoardRepair › Manage a school district using Macs? How To Make Slow Burning Fuses

04:04
For this project I used items from around the house to create a pyrotechnic time-delay. Here's how to make a simple form of a slow burning fuse, because when experimenting with homemade pyrotechnics, you don't want to be too close if your composition explodes. Some quick links to a few of the materials I used: [✓] Spectricide stump remover: http://amzn.to/2cXdmMn [✓] Sugar: http://amzn.to/2ctLMFm [✓] Cookie Tray: http://amzn.to/2c8YNFp [✓] Fire Extinguisher: http://amzn.to/2cd14Ox Endcard Links: Metal Melter: https://goo.gl/jolsPz Lighter Bombs: https://goo.gl/G84XIL Smoke Flares: https://goo.gl/V33jIs Rocket Fuel: http://bit.ly/DIYRocketFuel See What Else I’m Up To: Instagram: https://goo.gl/C0Q1YU Facebook: http://bit.ly/FBTheKingOfRandom Pinterest: http://bit.ly/pingrant Business Inquiries: For business and sponsorship inquiries please contact us directly: http://www.youtube.com/thekingofrandom/about WARNING: The maker of the video assumes no liability for use of this content. This project should not be attempted without adult supervision and adequate training. Misuse, or careless use, of tools or projects may result in serious injury, death, and/or permanent damage to equipment and property. Ignition of an incendiary or explosive material may not be legal in your area, so check local laws before attempting. Use of this video content is at your own risk. Music By: Music by Jason Shaw (RP-YeahYeah) http://www.audionautix.com Project Inspired By: http://youtu.be/dCtA-ZRcQDQ Project History & More Info: Similar to the recipes I tried for rocket fuel and smoke flares in previous videos, I'm using a 60/40 mix of KNO3 and white table sugar by weight. This time I'm making a 60 gram batch, adding it to boiling water, and stirring it in until it all dissolves. Fuses were homemade by soaking 12 feet of 100% cotton yarn in the solution as the rest of the water evaporated out, then placed on a cookie sheet and baked in an oven at 300ºF for 20 minutes. These types of devices may not be legal to make or use in your area, so check local laws before attempting to duplicate this project, and as always, be safe and aware of your environment before igniting anything flammable!

Replacing the battery fuse on a Nissan Frontier.

07:45
This the is held in by two bolt which makes this a 20-30 minute job rather than a 2 minute job. But with a few simple tools and some patience anyone with average mechanical ability should be able to handle this task. The fuse burned out as the result of jumping the truck after the battery died. The cables got crossed (not blaming anyone) and the fuse blew. After the battery was replaced, the truck still didn't start. The fuse was the next thing to check. It was burned through and a trip to the parts store $3 and 30 minutes later the truck was back on the road. So if you cross the cables don't despair. It's a cheap and relatively easy fix.

Seadoo GTX 2 Internal Fuel Filters Clogged caused by Tempo Gray Fuel Lines Carburetor 97

02:11
**How to repair gas gauge: https://youtu.be/jivVH99ngYw?t=1s More of my How to on SeaDoo below: 1997 97 GTX Seadoo with clogged internal fuel filters caused by the gray tempo lines. Get them changed asap. This is NOT a how to rebuild a carb (you will find many of that in youtube)... just want to show the clogged filters (see at the end). I did rebuild the carb with a genuine Rebuild Kit from Mikuni. Easy to do. The hardest part was removing the dual carbs from the ski (intake). Anyway, Just replace all gaskets, diaphragms and the 2 internal fuel filters. With this carb rebuild and a carbon ring replacement... GTX is now like a bat out of hell! I did replace the needle and seat. I did not have to do any adjustment! Just make sure you do not disturb any adjustments carb screws (idle, low speed, high speed). I did NOT have to do a POP Off test either. All worked after rebuild. GTX has 28 hours when I bought it but was in storage. I changed the gray fuel lines as soon as I got the GTX. Unfortunately, filters are already clogged. Result: A very very desirable result! An extremely fast and responsive GTX! Here is the link for the carbon ring replacement: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3nme0CaGvs How to repair Seadoo gas gauge: https://youtu.be/jivVH99ngYw?t=1s

Butt Connectors vs Solder | Crimping vs Soldering | Wire Connections

Crimping with butt connectors and soldering. If done properly, both are very solid connections. However I think soldering is still better because it's less prone to failure and corrosion. DIY removal of BMW steering wheel in under 2 minutes

01:56
This instructional DIY video shows under two minutes how to remove the airbag and steering wheel off a BMW X3 (E83). This model is a 2005 but relates to older and newer versions too. I then covered the facing with carbon fibre wrap to give it a more modern look and to hide the wear and tear on the steering wheel. I've skimmed over this but for a more detailed video, click the link below by Bimmiancom. Re-installing is common sense, replacing the connectors and screws etc in reverse order. If I can do it...so can you! detailed video on carbon wrap: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mL0nOpvkTb4 BMW 3 series, e92, e90, e91, e93 and 1 series e87 e88, e82, e81

Misuse, or careless use, of rocket propellants may result in serious injury, wildfire, and in extreme cases, death. Ignition of an incendiary or explosive material may not be legal in your area. Check local laws and inquire with local rocketry clubs on how to safely make and launch sugar rockets. Have fun, but always think ahead, and remember that every project you try is at YOUR OWN RISK. Music By: Scott & Brendo “Kitten Air” Instrumental iTunes: http://bit.ly/ScottBrendoiTunes YouTube: www.youtube.com/scottandbrendo Project Inspired By: A previous project on making Sugar Rockets (http://bit.ly/RedneckRocketry). I wanted a way to lock and load them into a homemade rocket, so they'd eject a parachute in a way that was light weight for the rocket, but still safe. Project History & More Info: I'm really excited to share my passion for building and launching rockets with completely home-made equipment. In my opinion, it's the best way to learn about how rocketry really works. In a previous project (http://bit.ly/SugarRocket) I made rocket motors using PVC, sugar, kitty litter, and stump remover. They worked so well they made me want to design a rocket they could be used with, and my friend Ritchie Kinmont with http://www.sonicdad.com was instrumental in making that project actually happen. I made this tutorial to be a more comprehensive sugar motor tutorial, going over all the things you'd need to do to make a successful motor that will work with the "Randomizer" rocket, and addressing some of the issues and challenges I've faced in the past with failed attempts. The 'Screw-Lock" version features threaded PVC risers, that allow the motors to quickly be changed, for faster turn-around times, and they have built in ejection charges for popping out the parachute at apogee. I played around with ejection charges in the "Redneck Rocketry" video (http://bit.ly/RedneckRocketry) I realize most people aren't very excited by building rockets, but for those who are, I hope you feel the same sense of wonder and awe as I did in building this series. Most rocket clubs won't let you fly sugar motors, except on special experimental launch days. However, the “Randomizer” rocket can also be used with commercial “Estes” D12-3 and E9-6 black power motors. So if you go with those, there's a good chance they'll let you fly your rocket at any club launch. The rocket can fly over 1,000 feet high, and depending on the winds, can stay in the air for around 5 minutes while it floats back to the ground, so it's important to be super cautious where, and when, you launch to avoid doing any damage. Rockets are not toys, and this video is mainly for educational and demonstrational purposes. If you’re going to attempt making a rocket yourself, I highly suggest you check local laws and inquire with local rocketry clubs on how to safely make and launch them.

How To Make Sugar Rockets

This video is mainly for educational and demonstrational purposes. If you’re going to attempt it anyway, I highly suggest contacting local rocket clubs to become familiar with local laws, and how to stay out of trouble with the FAA, and avoid hurting any people or property. Playing with unstable rocket motors could result in serious injury, property damage and/or legal ramifications. Use of this video content is at your own risk. You should be aware that misuse, or careless use, of rocket propellants or ignition of an incendiary or explosive material may not be legal in your area. Check local laws and inquire with local rocketry clubs on how to safely make and launch sugar rockets. Music By: Scott & Brendo (“Reverie” - Instrumental) http://bit.ly/ScottBrendoiTunes Project Inspired By: 4 years of testing and experimenting with sugar rockets, and recently a lot of influence from the book “Easy PVC Rockets” by Jason Smiley. (http://bit.ly/IBEasyPVCRockets) If you check out the link, please share the love and let Jason know that Grant Thompson sent you. :) Thank you! My friend NightHawkInLight also has an awesome video on a different method of making a cored rocket with black powder. You can see that here: http://bit.ly/IBBPCoredRockets Project History & More Info: After making my video on Homemade Rocket Fuel (http://bit.ly/DIYRocketFuel) I had a lot of requests on how I built the one that launched at the end of the video. Although that rocket motor worked very well, I wanted to get the process down to a science before making a video about it. This project video shows a slightly different approach to the sugar motor using the same ingredients, and a demonstration of how the rocket motor performs. The main difference is that this is rammed powder as opposed to caramelizing the sugar mix. Sugar rockets are the slowest burning of all rocket fuels, and it's highly unlikely that PVC will explode when using kitty litter plugs and sugar for the propellent. In all my destructive testing, and controlled attempts to get one to fail catastrophically, the PVC was never damaged. All that would happen is that the plugs would blast out. Saying that, I wouldn't use PVC with black power rockets. That is a different story altogether. These motor blasted up over 2,300 feet high without any payload, which has been very consistent with all the motors I made for the project video. Some people wonder how I was able to measure it at 2,300 feet high. It's a rough guess based on my raw video footage. I was able to detect the apogee of the rocket by a timed delay mix showing the arch, then measuring the time from apogee to impact. It was just about 12 seconds exactly, and I entered that into a gravity calculator for falling objects (http://www.gravitycalc.com/) and got a result of 706 meters, which is 2,316 ft. Although the project video shows step-by-step how to build the motors, I would caution anyone wanting to make one to take precautions. These are not toys. They can light things on fire, and fall down on peoples heads, which I imagine could cause serious injury. You may need permits, or only be able to launch these on special experimental launch days with local rocketry clubs. My launch was out in the middle of the dessert, miles and miles away from any people, property and anything flammable. Safety precautions were in place in case anything went wrong. Having said that, I’m very proud of how these little motors perform, and amazed at how cheaply they can be made. To see how to add a time delay mix and parachute ejection charge, make sure to watch part 2 (Redneck Rocketry) http://bit.ly/RedneckRocketry

Alesis M1 Active MK2 repair - Flashing Blue LED FIX

03:25
Read description for step by step and links below. Sorry for the poor image, done on my old phone years ago, but it will show you how easy it is to fix, read below for full details. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Updated and detailed video by rtcmanga https://youtu.be/ThjO7vlb79E Hi Res Photo here : https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.379575862219440.1073741825.120252361485126&type=1 (thanks to Tomo Sombolac Music ) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FIX for Alesis M1 Mk2 and 620 & 520 models The flashing blue LED and loss of sound on the Alesis M1 powered monitor is caused by failure of capacitor C8 (220uF, 35V) on the power supply board. It dries up due to its proximity to resistor R4 (47K, 2 W) which gets very hot. This is a design fault. Procedure: Remove the power supply board (4 corner screws and 2 mains connector screws) and disconnect the two plugs. Carefully desolder C8 and replace it. Its value is not extremely critical (220 to 470 uF will do) but it should be a 105 deg. type, preferably at 50V. Remove R4 and replace it with a similar resistor with its leads bent so that it is nowhere near C8, otherwise the fault will return. One end may be connected to one of the existing R4 solder pads (furthest from rear of board), and the other to the top end of resistor R3. Check that you have connected it correctly by inspecting the PCB tracks. It was recommend to us to replace C35 (1uf/50v). We did not do this, and can not see what advantage it has.. !!! Replace the board and all screws and plugs before testing.!!! IN THIS VIDEO WE ONLY REPLACED C8 that was all that was needed. we pushed the existing C4 away from the new C8 capacitor in both speakers . It was an easy fix. If you know how to solder and de-solder, you can do this. I could have done this as a newbie, but my brother is more skilled and I was happy to let him take the blame if it screwed up! ;) Seeing someone do it, its a lot more simple than i thought. Just thought Id mention this, my right speaker failed after 8 years. I normally keep the power on at all times as I feel switching them on/off each day is more harmful. To support this theory, I switched off the power on the left speaker and waited for the parts to arrive. When I switched it back on 5 days later it too had failed, in a way it was a good thing getting them both done at the same time. The first time I got the flickering LED was during a storm and right speaker failed, I left it off for an hour, an then it was fine. Then when the speaker finally failed was during a resent power cut. So even with power surge protection these speakers are still vulnerable to spikes. This includes the later 620 & 520 models so I have been told. In one way leaving them on might make them last, but in another they are likely to face spikes. I always turn them off in a storm, or if the lights are flickering. Great speakers, shame about this design issue. I hope now to get at least another 3-5 years out of them. Who knows maybe they will go on and on now the components are further away from each other! Goodluck

How to Make The Metal Melter

05:13
High amperage electricity can easily melt metal! In this video you'll learn step by step how to modify a microwave oven transformer into a high-current device that can pump out 800 amps of electrical current. This is how to build The Metal Melter! Endcard Links: Spot Welder: https://goo.gl/3eEfLx Electric Arcs: https://goo.gl/SgLxgi Stick Welder: https://goo.gl/ZmccT9 Metal Melter: https://goo.gl/jolsPz See What Else I’m Up To: Instagram: https://goo.gl/C0Q1YU Facebook: http://bit.ly/FBTheKingOfRandom Pinterest: http://bit.ly/pingrant Business Inquiries: For business and sponsorship inquiries please contact us directly: http://www.youtube.com/thekingofrandom/about WARNING: Burning galvanized metal may release toxic Zinc Oxide fumes. This project is extremely dangerous and should not be attempted without adult supervision and adequate training. Misuse, or careless use, of tools or projects may result in severe electric shock, cardiac arrest, serious injury, permanent damage to equipment and property, and/or death. Use of this video content is at your own risk. Music By: Music by Jason Shaw (TU-GetAMoveOn) http://www.audionautix.com Project Inspired By: http://www.youtube.com/user/codemsan and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRoPHKpCYmg&feature=share&list=UUvOjut5I-sVN9NthH0PkK5g Project History & More Info: By modifying the secondary coil on a MOT, the transformer is converted from a high voltage/low current device into a low voltage/high current metal melter. The first MOT in the video produces just over 500 amps, and the second one is capable of nearly 800 amps. Any metal that can conduct such low voltage electricity acts as a resistor between the electrode wires, and heats up due to the extreme electrical friction. A practical application of this modified transformer is shown in another video on how to make a spot welder. This way, the high current can be directed to one focused location to fuse sheets of metal together on contact.

How To Make a One-Way Check Valve - For Cheap!!

04:29
The most expensive parts of a water pump, or DIY Super Soaker, are usually the check valves. In this project, we're making some from scratch, for as little as $0.35 each. Endcard Links: Water Pump: https://goo.gl/3qGR5C Rocket Rifle: https://goo.gl/cqWcvB Candy Cannon: https://goo.gl/Asr1P6 Butter Candle: https://goo.gl/kUq0Bc See What Else I’m Up To: Instagram: https://goo.gl/C0Q1YU Facebook: http://bit.ly/FBTheKingOfRandom Pinterest: http://bit.ly/pingrant Business Inquiries: For business and sponsorship inquiries please contact us directly: http://www.youtube.com/thekingofrandom/about WARNING: The pressure tests and claims made on these check-valves is based solely on my personal experiences with the ones demonstrated in the video. Individual results may vary, and caution and care should be taken when loading the valves with high pressure. The risk of higher pressures is that the balls may be forced from the adaptor, shooting out like projectiles. High pressures may also cause the ball to lock up, preventing normal operation of the valve, or possibly even structural failure of the valve altogether. These valves are not made, or claimed, to be used in any heavy duty operations. Use of this content is at your own risk. Music By: Music by Jason Shaw (TU-GetAMoveOn) http://www.audionautix.com Project Inspired By: WaterWolf http://www.sscentral.org/homemade/check_valves.html Project History & More Info: I wanted to build a PVC water pump, but the check valves were around $10.00 each. That seemed a little steep for a PVC build, so while looking for alternative options, I settled on this design, which is about the cheapest, while still being practical and useful, that I could imagine. In my testing, the valves work great with air and water. Air pressures up to 60PSI seemed to be fine for normal operation, while pressures above 60PSI occasionally caused the ball to lock into the O-Ring, and required substantial "back-pressure" to unlock it. If you try using rubber bouncy balls as the valve mechanism, only use them in very low pressure applications like blowing up balloons, and possibly for improvised water guns. Relatively high pressures used with these balls seems to eventually force them out of the adaptor, and can shoot them out at surprising velocities. Overall, I'm really happy with the valves because they can be fit into any part of a PVC system, and can be duplicated quickly, easily, and for very very low cost.

These igniters are intended for igniting rockets, and safety precautions should be in place to mitigate any fire hazards. Misuse, or careless use when testing indoors, may result in fires and/or property damage. Be safe and have fun, but always remember that any project you try is at your own risk. Music By: Scott & Brendo (“Clever” - Instrumental) http://bit.ly/ScottBrendoiTunes Project Inspired By: My friend Ritchie Kinmont, who said that as a kid, he used to make igniters for his rockets with very thin wire and paper match heads. He's a really smart guy. Check out some of his projects here: http://bit.ly/SonicDadProjects Project History & More Info: While testing out home made rockets and sugar motors, my friend Ritchie Kinmont (http://bit.ly/SonicDadProjects) brought a handful of Estes rocket ignitors so we could launch the rockets on command. We got talking about making igniters from scratch, since the commercial brand was nearly $1 per igniter! He mentioned that, as a kid, he used to make his own improvised igniters by wrapping very thin wire around paper matches, so that when you'd touch the leads to a battery, it would ignite. Cool concept! Until recently, I'd been lighting smoke flares and home made rockets with the use of a fuse. While the fuses have proved very reliable, they do pose a few hazards. Firstly, they occasionally fall out, and could catch surrounding items on fire. And secondly, you can't control exactly when the rocket will launch because the timing is always random. So if the wind were to pick up and blow your launchpad over, you wouldn't be able to put out the fuse. That would be a dangerous situation! So in an effort to gain more precise control over rocket launches, I played around with some ways to make homemade ignitors, also known as “electric matches” to launch my rockets with the press of a button. In this video I demonstrated that they will ignite pyrotechnics on command as well, which could be useful for 4th of July fireworks! :) I spent countless hours in my workshop playing and prototyping with different kinds of cords, matches and batteries, to finally develop and confirm a system that does, in-fact, ignite matches 10/10 times. Although these igniters are one time use only, I'm extremely excited about this idea because they are made from things you probably have around the house right now .. meaning anyone can make them for cheap, or free. Ritchie and I did a lot of field testing with these ignitors with our home made “Randomizer Rocket”, and proved they work exactly as hoped. Look for that video coming soon :D You'll see step-by-step how to make these ignitors in the next project video, so keep an eye out for it, and I'll also have tutorials on building the Randomizer Rocket, as well as the Launch Pad, and Rocket Launch Controller in upcoming videos.

How To Make A Water Bottle Bomb (it just makes a really loud sound)

01:39
Put about a cup of vinegar into a water bottle, next put about two tablespoons of baking soda in a sheet of paper towel and wrap it up tightly (I find paper towel works better than plastic wrap), Next drop the paper towel into the water bottle and screw on the lid as fast as you can, then shake it up and throw it down(I have tried throwing it up and it just cant get the momentum that it needs to explode). I recommend that you wear safety glasses when you do this because the cap on the bottle shoots of very fast when it explodes. AND DO NOT THROW IT AT ANYONE! Thats it!

Cap Replacement

How to Replace Your Clothes Dryer Vent Exhaust Cap or Hood Welcome to this video on how to replace your existing clothes dryer exhaust vent cap or hood. If you were looking to install a new exhaust vent hood click here or check out the link in the description bar below. https://youtu.be/xpEk3CT-9Ng https://youtu.be/ofcrfijdv_g https://youtu.be/Sq8Ii3VbaGY This project should take you between 30 and 45 minutes to complete. you'll need a 4 inch cap or hood, a utility knife, a screwdriver, four 1 1/2 to 2 inch pan or round head screws, exterior waterproofing caulking, and a caulking gun. We encourage you to make safety a priority and we highly recommend you to wear safety glasses and work gloves. In this installation we'll focus on a typical exterior wall application with vinyl siding. These instructions apply to Imperial's selection of caps or hoods. Before starting your project the first thing you are going to have to determine is if you need to replace your vent cap or if you need to replace the entire vent hood. To do so simply remove the existing vent cap and examine the conditions of the tail pipe remaining in the wall. If you see the pipe is bent, pierced by nails or by any other object, or is damaged in any other way you'll want to replace the entire hood. If this is the case remove the pipe only if the pipe is directly connected to your dryer hook-up system. If your ducting system is more complex we recommend you call a professional. If the pipe is in good condition all you need to do is replace the vent cap. If the pipe contains lint we recommend you to clean the entire dryer exhaust system before proceeding. You'll also want to remove ant caulking leftover on the siding from the previous cap so that you're working with a smooth surface, lastly you may want to paint your cap and screws if you desire to match your décor. Just make sure you're using the right paint for either a plastic or metal surface and for outdoor use. Now lets get the installation started. First install the new cap onto the existing tail pipe situated in the existing duct cavity. If you are replacing your hood first you will need to disconnect the old hood from the dryer hook-up system inside your house. Then go back outside and remove the old hood from the wall and slide your new vent hood into the duct cavity. Using your 4 screws secure the cap or hood in place. Then seal around it with caulking to weatherproof. If you replaced your hood you are ready to reconnect your dryer hook-up kit to your new dryer vent hood. We highly recommend replacing your dryer hook-up kit yearly with a UL listed and labelled hook-up kit to ensure optimal dryer safety and performance. Before using your dryer make sure everything is working properly. Check that there are no air flow restrictions in your duct like kinks, holes, or lint. Turn on your dryer and check the air flow of your exhaust system. Keep in consideration that your dryer exhaust system may not be at optimal operating performance. If you live in a cool climate you may want to consider installing a draft blocker. Also if you are concerned with animals entering and nesting in your dryer exhaust system you may want to install a pest guard over your cap.
