What is Lynch Syndrome?

03:18
According to Scottsdale Healthcare’s Dr. Mike Janicek, Lynch Syndrome is as prevalent as the breast & ovarian cancer syndrome. Though Lynch Syndrome is hard to explain, what we know about this disease is that it doesn’t just affect the breast and ovaries. It is hard to categorize because it is a wide spectrum of diseases: brain cancer, stomach, duodenal, liver, gallbladder, kidney, uterus, bladder, bowel and even some rare skin cancers. Breast cancer’s sister is ovarian cancer, which is also part of Lynch syndrome. The most important thing you can do for yourself it is to be aware of your risk. Dr. Mike Janicek says, “Preventing cancer should be our supreme goal and one of the most powerful tools we have now is the genetic information that gives us very advanced warning before the cancer has a chance to develop.” Find out more about Lynch Syndrome by watching the video above. HBOC 2011: Genetic mutations as causes of cancer

05:21
Dr Henry Lynch talks about his work establishing the hereditary nature of many cancers. In 1966 Dr Lynch characterised Lynch syndrome, an autosomal dominant genetic condition which is associated with a high risk of colon cancer as well as many other cancers such as prostate, breast, ovary, stomach and brain. Dr Lynch discusses how molecular genetics is being used to uncover additional gene mutations which are involved in cancer causation and explains how an understanding of cause can be used to develop chemoprevention regimes and new therapies.

Top 10 Cancer Causing Foods You Should Avoid

08:56
Cancer is an abnormal growth of cells. There are more than 100 types of cancer, including breast cancer, skin cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, and lymphoma. Possible signs and symptoms include a lump, abnormal bleeding, prolonged cough, unexplained weight loss and a change in bowel movements. Many cancers can be prevented by not smoking, maintaining a healthy weight, not drinking too much alcohol, eating plenty of vegetables, fruits and whole grains, not eating too much processed and red meat, and by avoiding many cancer causing foods that we have listed below. Microwave popcorn bags are lined with perfluorooctanoic acid, a compound that has been linked to various types of cancer, including liver, testicular and pancreatic cancer. Canned foods allow you to enjoy your favorite vegetables throughout the year. However, if you are concerned about your health, avoid canned food, especially canned tomatoes. The cans used to pack tomatoes and other foods are lined with a product called bisphenol A, BPA, an endocrine disruptor that may mimic or disrupt hormones and increase the risks for breast cancer, prostate cancer, early puberty, metabolic disorders, infertility, and several other problems. Farmed salmon is nowhere near as healthy as wild salmon, and eating farmed salmon puts you at a higher risk of developing cancer. Farm-raised fish are fed unnatural diets and contaminated with chemicals, antibiotics, pesticides and other known carcinogens found in materials like asbestos. Hydrogenated oils are vegetable oils, which cannot be naturally extracted like olive oil, soy or canola oil, they are chemically extracted from vegetables and is again chemically treated to change the smell and taste. This process turns unsaturated fat into a stable solid fat, resulting in trans fatty hydrogenated oil which is considered to be the worst type of fat and is known to cause cancer, heart disease, and immune system problems. Potato chips are deep-fried in temperatures above 120 degrees Celsius, which causes them to create a material called acrylamide, a well-known carcinogen found in cigarettes. Genetically modified foods (GMOs) are a rapidly growing industry and have made their way into the majority of our foods like corn, potatoes, grains and soybeans. Such food products are grown using harmful chemicals and, when consumed, can lead to immune system, brain and liver damage. Refined sugar, artificial sweeteners and fructose-rich sweeteners like high-fructose corn syrup are not good for your health. These products tend to rapidly spike insulin levels and feed the growth of cancer cells. Refined White flour contains excess carbohydrates that are not good for your health and even increase the risk of cancer. During the milling process, white flour is bleached with chlorine gas, which is highly toxic for the body. Processed meats such as ham, sausage and bacon have chemicals and preservatives like sodium nitrates, which make them bad for your health. In addition, processed meat contains excessive salt, which is also not good for you. Pickled and smoked foods are delicious but, at the same time, very harmful to the body. In fact, smoked meats that pick up tar from the smoking process cause extreme harm to your body. Plus, most pickled foods contain nitrates that turn into N-nitroso, which increases your risk of cancer.

This Oil Stops Cancer Growth, According To Research.

This Oil Stops Cancer Growth, According To Research. Please SUBSCRIBE : http://bit.ly/2e9Su11 On a yearly basis, more than 14 million people develop cancer all over the world, and more than 8.2 million people die as a result of this disastrous disease. Experts believe that this number will increase by 70% in the next two decades. These numbers are shocking, alarming, and terrifying! Even though billions of dollars are spent on surveys and studies, the cancer cure is still not found. On the other hand, although Mother Nature has provided perfectly effective natural remedies, they cannot be patented, and thus are continually denied by the Big Pharma and the cancer industry. One such remarkable natural cure is cannabis oil. Researchers at the University in Madrid researched the positive effect of cannabis on malignant brain cancer. According to Dr. Christina Sanchez, a molecular naturalist from the University of Madrid, cannabinoids from cannabis kill cancer cells, and at the same time, boost the immune system of the patient. THC eliminates cell apoptosis from all living cells that have some kind of unhealthy growth and an irregular DNK, and what’s best, it does not affect healthy cells. The team observed the THC’s effect on cancerous cells in the case of the most complicated cancer types, such as brain, prostate, breast, pancreas cancer, and leukemia. The research was published in 2010 in the so-called PMS journal which is part of the National medicine library in the USA under the name “Cannabinoids reduce ErbB2-driven breast cancer progression through Akt inhibition”. Yet, only a few countries decided to try this treatment in the case of cancer and leukemia. Furthermore, a 1974 study, published in the Journal of the National cancer institute under the name of Antineoplastic Activity of Cannabinoids, showed that the lung cancer cells of experimental mice died after the oral consumption of cannabis oil. Also, Dr. Manuel Guzman in 1998, examined the cell apoptosis provoked by cannabinoids from cannabis, and in his study, published in the journal Nature Medicine in 2002, he explained the way malignant brain cells were destroyed due to which he explains in details the destruction of malignant cells of brain cancer performed by cannabinoids. Furthermore, numerous studies have found that this oil has potent health benefits, not just anti-cancer properties, and these are the most important: 1. It soothes Aches And Pains. Cannabis oil can alleviate pain and aches, and the pain –relieving properties have been used for millennia. Its cannabinoids inhibit the neuronal transmission in pain pathways and thus soothe chronic pain and inflammation. 2. It treats Anxiety. Cannabis oil effectively releases pleasure hormones and relaxes the mind. It also lowers stress and leaves you calm and peaceful. The cannabinoids activate specific receptors within the body to produce pharmacologic effects, especially in the central nervous system and the immune system. How To Use cannabis Oil to treat cancer. Generally, 60 grams (or about 60ml) of cannabis oil is sufficient to kill most cancers, so an average individual will need 90 days to ingest the full 60-gram treatment of cannabis oil. At the beginning, the person should orally ingest 3 doses of cannabis oil daily. Therefore, during the first week, the dose should be about the size of a half grain of white rice. Double the dose the next week, and then double it on every 4 days, until you reach a dose of 1 gouble the dose ram or 1ml daily. In most cases, people come to a dose of 1 gram daily in about 30-35 days. Afterward, you should only continue with that dose until the cancer is cured. ======================================= lung cancer treatment ,breast cancer treatment ,cancer cells ,genetic disorders ,cell division ,cells ,cancer treatment centers of america ,canker sore treatment ,herb ,colon cancer treatment ,cure for cancer ,cervical cancer treatment ,bladder cancer treatment ,cancer treatment ,bone cancer treatment ,cannabis oil cancer treatment ,how to treat canker sores ,liver cancer treatment ,canker sore on tongue treatment ,how to treat cancer ,baking soda cancer treatment https://youtu.be/wxpvXuCoMsI Please SUBSCRIBE : http://bit.ly/2e9Su11

Brain tumors are classified as primary or secondary. Primary brain tumors develop inside the brain or spine, and almost never spread outside of the brain or spine. Primary brain tumors are most commonly named after the cells from which they derive. Secondary brain tumors are tumors found in the brain that have started somewhere else in the body. These are also known as metastatic brain tumors, or brain metastases. Learn more: http://www.dana-farber.org/Adult-Care/Treatment-and-Support/Brain-Tumors/About-Brain-Tumors.aspx

Actress Angelina Jolie has sparked a national conversation after opting to undergo a preventative double mastectomy when she tested positive for the breast cancer gene, BRCA1. Jolie's family history combined with her test results put her at high risk for breast and ovarian cancer, according to news reports. Jolie's choice to undergo a preventative double mastectomy reduced her risk of developing breast cancer from 87% to 5%. Dr. Jennifer Klemp, Ph.D, MPH, Director of the Breast Cancer Survivorship Center at The University of Kansas Cancer Center, explains what Jolie and many women go through when assessing the risks of genetic testing. Male breast cancer ATM GENE MUTATION

08:38
I lost my dad and best friend May 15th 2017 from breast cancer, it metastasized to his lungs and to his brain. The gene is called Ataxia telangiectasia mutation. Two years he fought a hard fight, everything seemed to be going well until March. He had a nurse come draw his blood and she could not get any blood from his veins. He started chugging water to see if it would help, it didn't. The next day we went to the doctor and I told her I think we need to put him in the hospital. She didn't think we needed to because her nurse was able to get the needle in and give him fluids before his chemo treatment. (I knew he was dehydrated) Now my dad all ready had underlying conditions which made his veins small and hard to access, also medications he was taking caused other factors. The oncologist sent him downstairs to get blood work then he came back to her office to get chemo. The next day the oncologist called and told me it was urgent that we get my dad to the ER as soon as possible. His blood work came back and he was in kidney failure. So I rushed him to the hospital, he was admitted and put on fluids. Almost a week later the nurses accessing his port gave him MRSA. His WBC skyrocketed, my dad was not himself. It was as if he had Alzheimer's. This fight to get rid of the mrsa went on, threw three different LTACHs and another hospital who actually removed the port to get rid of the infection, which they did, white blood cell count was finally normal. His kidney functions came back and he was sent to rehab. I was so excited to get him back on chemo and have him with us longer, but two days my dad was in rehab and his heart stopped. The ambulance got him to the hospital where he peacefully passed away. Many times I asked the oncologist what are we looking at? How aggressive is this cancer. She gave the normal 5 years with chemo and 3 months without. I always hear other people say the doctors are wrong, they don't really know, my doctor stressed to me about how aggressive this type of cancer is. She was right about not having chemo for 3 months and it took my dad. I was also tested for the gene mutation and I do have it. I am getting a mastectomy before 40, I will also have to take medication to put me into a early menopause.

Breast Cancer and Constipation

The reason why women who have more frequent bowel movements appear to be at lower risk for breast cancer may be because bile acids absorbed from our intestines concentrate in the breast and have an estrogen-like tumor promoting effect. Subscribe to Dr. Greger’s free nutrition newsletter at https://www.nutritionfacts.org/subscribe and get a free recipe from his new HOW NOT TO DIE COOKBOOK. I touched on this in my new live presentation From Table to Able: Combating Disabling Diseases with Food (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/from-table-to-able) that just came out, but what I didn’t get to discuss is the relative bile acid binding abilities of different foods. What are the different types of brain tumors?

00:45
"When we think about brain tumors, we often distinguish them into 2 broad categories. Primary brain tumors, which are tumors that are coming from the brain, and what I mean by that is that some cell in the brain has become genetically altered and it has uncontrolled growth. So, again, it’s a tumor that has derived from some cell in the brain. That’s a primary brain tumor. The second category is a metastatic brain tumor and these are tumors such as lung cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer that have grown from some other part of the body outside the brain, but have metastasized or spread to the brain." Is Cancer hereditary & can it reoccur? - Dr. Somashekhar S.P

01:33
Is cancer hereditary? Yes, there are lot of cancers that are hereditary. There is a difference between cancer is hereditary, familial and genetic, all are different. Lot of important cancers like the breast cancer, ovarian cancers, colonic cancers like HNPCC syndromes and many others, sudden thyroid cancers or hereditary. So history of familial cancer, hereditary is important. Now certain part of esophageal or food pipe cancer it can come in hereditary and familial but not all of them because the commonest cause is the food habits, the tobacco chewing, and drinking hot tea and hot spices. So some part of it is hereditary and familial but it does not and that all food pipe cancer if your ancestors or your family members have, you have it. It is more common in ovarian cancer, breast cancer, endometrial and thyroid and other cancers.

UH Moment: Estrogen Research in Colon and Breast Cancer Treatment and Prevention

01:01
Armed with National Cancer Institute funding, Cecilia Williams, an assistant professor in the University of Houston's Biology and Biochemistry Department, is leading single-cell level research aimed at better preventing and treating colon cancer and two types of breast cancer. Williams is studying estrogen hormones and the mechanics of regulatory molecules called nuclear receptors. Williams believes estrogen can help combat inflammation in colon cells and 'turn off' cancer-promoting genes. "Estrogen receptor beta is the one that appears protective against colon cancer," said Williams. "So, if you can activate that one (nuclear receptor), specifically in the colon, then we could prevent or delay colon cancer development." Williams is currently working to better understand exactly how this is able to happen and is testing a hypothesis.

2 New Cancer Treatments That Give Patients Hope Again

04:32
We are living in the lucky days of cancer research. Two revolutions in cancer therapy — one successfully tested by President Jimmy Carter — are giving patients of all kinds a new hope. His latest book is "The Lucky Years: How to Thrive in the Brave New World of Health" (http://davidagus.com/books/the-lucky-...) Read more at BigThink.com: http://bigthink.com/videos/david-agus-on-cancer-as-a-manageable-condition Follow Big Think here: YouTube: http://goo.gl/CPTsV5 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BigThinkdotcom Twitter: https://twitter.com/bigthink Transcript - Cancer, it's a word that if I say it to somebody you have cancer this is like hitting you on the head with a club. It's a life-changing event no matter how you look at it. My goal is not to be aggressive as possible and kill everything, my job is to make cancer a livable manageable condition so that you live with cancer rather than dying with cancer. And this really is or are the lucky years with regard to cancer. I want to talk about two kinds of fundamental shifts that are happening now. The first is what we call immunotherapy. When cancer cells happen they have a don't eat me signal on the surface. Well, we now have the ability, and there are drugs that are approved that block that don't eat meat signal and allow the immune system to come in and basically eat the cancer. We've seen this work with a remarkable 90+ year individual named Jimmy Carter, our former president. And we've seen it work with many other patients. So cancers like skin cancer melanoma, like kidney cancer, some types of lung cancer and others have had some pretty dramatic results with this immunotherapy and it's only getting better. We're learning how to harness the power of our own immune system to attack cancer literally more on a daily basis. Number two is what we call precision or personalized medicine. And they mean the same thing. And there's a lot of confusion out there some call it precision medicine or personalize, they're the same thing. And what it means is that I can now, for example if you have cancer, I can take a piece of your cancer and sequence the DNA and look at what genes are turned on and what genes are turned off and hopefully develop a way to turn off the driving genes. And it works. And it works in many of the patients, not all. In many of the patients we don't yet know the drivers. We don't have drugs to turn off every gene, but I can sequence the DNA of the cancer and develop a personalized therapy of that patient. So there may be a drug that was FDA approved for breast cancer, that gene is driving lung cancer and I can use it in that patient. Read Full Transcript Here: http://goo.gl/K0IL8A.

Preventive Surgery Benefits Women With Breast and Ovarian Cancer Genes

Every year, one million women around the world are diagnosed with breast cancer, and almost 200,000 others are told they have ovarian cancer. The decisions for treatment are more difficult when the women carry genetic mutations called BRCA1 and 2, mutations that could also increase a woman's risk for cervical, uterine, pancreatic and other cancers. A recent study shows that women who undergo preventive surgery reduce their risk for breast and ovarian cancers. VOA's Melinda Smith has the story.

11 - Brain Cancer: DNA Methylation

01:36
Gliomas are the most frequent and the most aggressive type of brain cancer. In the clinics, in order to choose a treatment for the patient, clinicians divide these tumors in 4 grades, according to the severity of the cancer: grade I, II, III or IV. Now researchers suggest a more accurate classification, with seven subtypes of tumors. Each of them defines a specific prognosis and also relate to different responses to treatment. The new classification results from the broadest analysis of brain tumors done to date, by scientists from 6 countries. The most relevant aspect to divide tumors in seven groups was DNA Methylation - one epigenetic mechanism that can activate or turn off a gene. The research was coordinated by Houtan Noushmehr, from University of Sao Paulo - USP (Brazil); Antonio Iavarone, from Columbia University (United States); and Roel Verhaak, from MD Anderson Cancer Center (United States). Analysis included: DNA methylation, copy number of genes, genetic mutations, RNA expression, codeletion of 1p19q chromosome, telomere length and IDH gene mutations. The article was published on January 28, 2016 in Cell Journal. CURCUMIN CURE STAGE 3 LYMPHOMA CANCER

10:22
CURCUMIN CURE STAGE 3 LYMPHOMA CANCER. Turmeric’s active ingredient is an extracted compound called curcumin. Studies have shown that curcumin helps prevent several forms of cancer including breast, lung, stomach, liver, and colon because of its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It stops the development of cancer by interfering with the cellular signaling aspects of the chronic disease. Lab results have found curcumin capable of… Inhibiting COX-2, an enzyme that causes negative inflammation, which can lead to cancer. Impeding vascular epithelial growth (a polypeptide that stimulates new blood supply) to starve cancer cells of their oxygen and fuel source. Inducing a tumor suppressor gene. Stopping metastasis (spread from one organ to another) of cancer cells. Killing large cell B-cell lymphoma cells (the most common reason for non-Hodgkin lymphoma). Preventing regrowth of cancer stem cells. Based on a 2011 study conducted by the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, researchers found that the curcumin extract effectively differentiates between cancer cells and normal cells while activating cancer cell death (apoptosis). Investigators concluded, “Curcumin exerts its biological influence through epigenetic modulation, a process that continues downstream staying one step ahead of adverse genetic influences.” One study was conducted to investigate how much curcumin colorectal patients could safely take. In the trial, participants took 3.6 grams, considered to be a high dose of curcumin. Results revealed that high doses of curcumin didn’t cause ill effects among colorectal patients. Curcumin is not well absorbed in the blood but it is absorbed well into the colon lining, giving it an advantage against cancerous tissues in the colon. It can help prevent prostate cancer because of its ability to interfere with the spread of cancer cells and inflammatory responses that are considered to be the precursors of cancer development. Curcumin also fights prostate cancer by reducing the expression of sex hormone receptors in the prostate gland. It has shown incredible promise in the prevention of cervical cancer, the leading cause of cancer death among women in developing nations. Curcumin’s anti-inflammatory property blocks the factors that induce human papilloma virus and activates cancer cell death within the uterine lining.

Michelle was 38 years old when she went for a mammogram after her sister, Barbara, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Michelle soon learned that she had cancer and the two sisters fought their battle together, side by side, through surgery and chemotherapy. The rest of their family decided to pursue genetic testing for cancer at Cooper University Hospital, which showed the women carry a gene mutation for breast cancer. The disease, which had been passed on through generations of women in their family, has devastated them, but has not broken them. Today, they stand tall and proud with knowledge and the power to help the next generation of women in their family beat breast cancer. This is their story.

Cancer DNA Tests

00:31
Cancer DNA Tests We all inherit our genes from our parents. Some of these genes protect us from developing certain types of cancer. Sometimes we inherit an irregular version of one of these genes and this is known as a mutation. Genetic mutations can have harmful, beneficial, neutral (no effect), or uncertain effects on our health. Harmful mutations can increase our susceptibility to developing diseases such as breast, ovarian, uterine, colon or pancreatic cancers. If you have immediate family members who have developed cancer or a strong history of cancer exists in your family over several generations, you may have a hereditary cancer predisposition. Our genetics are not the only cause of cancer. There are numerous other factors which can influence the development of the disease, such as lifestyle, environment, diet, advancing age, and exposure to toxic substances. This test can provide helpful information for patients who have a family history of certain types of cancer, such as colon, prostate, or pancreatic cancer, since some genetic mutations included in this analysis are linked to the development of these cancers in patients. genetic testing for breast cancer, breast cancer genetic testing, breast cancer genetics, genetic test for breast cancer, genetic testing breast cancer, genetic breast cancer, genetic breast cancer test, genetic screening for breast cancer, breast cancer and genetics, genetics of breast cancer, genetics and breast cancer, breast cancer genetic risk, breast cancer genetic screening, genetics breast cancer, genetic test breast cancer, breast genetic testing, genetic screening breast cancer,CHEEK CANCER TEST,SWAB CANCER TEST,DNA SWAB TEST,SWAB CANCER SCREENING,SWAB A CHEEK,CANCER DNA SCREENING,CANCER SWAB SCREENING,cheek swab dna test, cheek swab cancer test, cheek swab cancer screening, DNA cheek cancer test, Cheek cancer swab, buccal swab dna testing, buccal swab cancer test, swab for cancer, swab a cheek, cancer dna screening, cancer dna test, cheek swab cancer, swabbing for cancer
