This video showcases the story of Emily -- a fictional character who was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. Emily requires expensive medical care and her husband, James, discovers during the course of his online research that Emily’s life insurance policy could potentially be leveraged as a cash asset to help defray the cost of medical bills. We invite you to view this short video to learn how Emily and James were able to finance her medical care by discovering the hidden value in an insurance policy that they were about to let lapse. While the video characters are fictional, the story it conveys is all too common. For those who have been diagnosed with an advanced stage of cancer or life-threatening illness, the patient’s first thought often centers on the financial resources they will need to finance the best medical care possible. But even with health benefits paying a portion of medical expenses, the cost associated with being out of work and paying for traditional or experimental forms of treatment are often staggering. That’s why it comes as no surprise that unpaid medical bills are now the leading cause of bankruptcies in the U. S. Faced with undergoing treatment while dealing with the stress associated with the cost of care, today patients with limited financial resources are exploring all possible options ranging from crowdfunding sites, to appeals on social media, to entering clinical trials. Still others who have had some degree of success with fundraising are researching alternatives to crowdfunding due to the fees, which can range from 5-20% per donation. But what many consumers may not realize is that their life insurance policy could be a valuable cash resource to help cancer patients finance medical care. Through a transaction known as a “life settlement” (or a “viatical settlement” for patients with a life expectancy of less than 24 months), a policy owner who qualifies has the ability to sell the policy to an institutional funder operating in the secondary market for life insurance. Founded in 2004, Abacus Settlements, LLC is a licensed life settlement provider with locations in New York and Tennessee. An active member of the Life Insurance Settlement Association (LISA), Abacus works with professional advisors and consumers in optimizing the value of their life insurance policies. Abacus Settlements provides an online pricing tool to help policyholders obtain an estimate of the value of their life insurance asset. Like these Massage lessons !!! Check out the official app http://apple.co/1IAinBB Watch more How to Do Reflexology videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/501563-6-Techniques-for-Cancer-Patients-Reflexology So, reflexology and cancer. There is so much research that's been done over the years. And certainly research that's being done right now. So if you're curious about reflexology and cancer, I so encourage you to look into the studies. There's a major one being done right now with the National Cancer Institute in this country, the United States, with the NIH. The National Institutes of Health. It's Michigan State University and they are doing incredible work on breast cancer patients and reflexology. This is their second grant and it's really astonishing work. So just research it if you like. Branch Reflexology. Barbara Bower. There's some wonderful people doing that. So it's out there. With cancer, it really depends on the person you're with. If they have cancer, it's really important that you're communicating with them the whole time. If they're undergoing some kind of chemotherapy, they might be really, really sensitive in their feet. So you might want to focus more on relaxation techniques. So we'll start with those. Some of the ones you can use might be the lung press for example. With the lung press you're going to go ahead and make a fist and you're going to with your thumb go ahead and insert it there. And then this hand will support the foot. So this part of the hand will be on the ball of their foot. So we bring it right there and we're just going to support with these fingers. Then to do the lung press we go ahead and press forward and then we kind of wave their foot towards us back. And we go front and back. We're going to do this bilaterally. So it means we're going to be doing it on both feet. We could do it the other direction too. You'll do the other foot as well. Some of the other things you could do could be the metatarsal mover. Just with your thumbs moving the metatarsal heads ever so gently. Again it's really important sometimes the just gentlest of touch for someone who's going through cancer is really, really special. So I encourage you to look into how to be present with your friend or family member and even just holding the feet can be really valuable. You can also work on the foot, in general, as a whole. So you could do all the reflexology techniques. You could do the thumb walking, the finger walking, in particular for the entire body. So we can for instance to the whole arch or belly of the foot. You could do the thumb walking up. You're passing through all of these wonderful vital organ reflexes. Certainly get your maps and look at what you're passing through. You might want to give a little more or less attention to something depending on the kind of cancer your person has. In addition you also can do thumb walking on the heels. You could do it on the ball of the foot. The whole lymphatic system falls through here and across here. So certainly you could do everything, but the relaxation techniques tend to be very popular amongst cancer patients.

Handpainted Scarf http://wrappedinthoughts.com/ Choosing the perfect gift for a friend or a family member can be difficult from time to time. However, when you are shopping for a loved one that is undergoing treatment for cancer or they are someone caring for somebody who is, buying just the right gift can be extremely tough. Whether you are shopping for a holiday gift, a birthday present or just something to let them know that you are thinking about them and you care, you want something that is going to be heartfelt and showing just the right sentiment. Believe it or not, sometimes the perfect gift to give someone in your life that is going through cancer treatments won't be much different than what you may give them on a normal day. You want to always take their tastes and their interests into consideration while shopping. Picking out the perfect scarf that is handpainted or a beautiful pashmina that you know they would love can be just the right thing to show that you care. Sometimes, all that a person wants to know is that you are there for them whenever they need it. You never have to let them know that you understand what they are going through, because the fact of the matter is that you may not. It is going to be important to them that you are there when they need you. Producing a thoughtful gift that is personalized will be something that they can look at and hold close when they are going through the hardest of times and treatments moving forward. Even though flowers and cards are a beautiful gesture, there is something very special about a pashmina or scarf that seems as though it was hand picked just for the recipient. No matter what type of cancer they are dealing with or what your relationship might be to the patient, there is something just right that you can pick out to share with them your thoughts and feelings. This is the type of gift that will help to give them the strength and encouragement that they need to face whatever may be heading their way in the coming weeks, months or years. While you can always research a number of the gifting websites that are out there for sending items to cancer patients, there is nothing more thoughtful than a personalized, special item. Each scarf can be tailored to the recipient and presented as a lovely gift with a poem, words of encouragement, children's names and much more. When you start to think about the different ways that you can really make such a gift special, you will surely find that this is the best way to show the person in your life that you truly care and that you are there for them whenever they may need you. Even if you live far away and you cannot be there to hold their hand or listen in person, a personalized pashmina or scarf is the best way to show your loved one that you are thinking of them as they go through cancer treatments. We teach you about hormonal therapy for breast cancer. Drugs such as tamoxifen and aromatase inhibitors are key treatment options for most breast cancers. VISIT THE BREAST CANCER SCHOOL FOR PATIENTS: http://www.breastcancercourse.org LIST OF QUESTIONS FOR YOUR DOCTORS: http://www.breastcancercourse.org/breast-health-updates-latest-videos/ FOLLOW US: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Breast-Cancer-School-for-Patients-958519147618444/ ________________________________ Questions for your Medical Oncologist: 1. What type of hormonal therapy do you recommend? 2. Will I also benefit from chemotherapy? 3. What are the side effects of hormonal therapy? 4. Will I need 5 or 10 years of these medications? 5. Would the genomic assay Oncotype DX be helpful? 6. What is Hormonal Therapy? Anti-estrogen (estrogen-blocking) medications, prescribed as pills, are incredibly effective at treating certain types of breast cancer. Hormonal therapy is given to about 70 to 80% of women with breast cancer. Chemotherapy, on the other hand, is a more intense cancer treatment that is generally administered intravenously. Most patients will not need chemotherapy. Many women that do need chemotherapy will also benefit from hormonal therapy. These treatment decisions are complex ones with your medical oncologist. You will make better choices when you are well informed before meeting with your medical oncologist. Do my “Receptors” suggest Hormonal Therapy? When the estrogen circulating in your blood stream interacts with a breast cancer that has “Estrogen Receptors” (ER) present on its surface, it tends to flip the ER switch to the “on” or “grow” position for ER Positive tumors. The same can be said to a lesser extent for the “Progesterone Receptor,” if your cancer is found to also be PR positive. Patients with ER+ breast cancers almost always benefit from the anti-estrogen effects of hormonal therapy. These medications can make cancer cells die, or slow down their growth. If a few cancer cells have already spread to other parts of the body, these medications are incredibly effective at preventing these cells from growing and threatening your life in the future. In other words, those who take hormonal therapy for ER+ tumors have a more successful chance at long-term survival when compared to those who do not. About 80% of all breast cancers are ER+. Even if your medical oncologist recommends chemotherapy for you, if your tumor is ER+ you will also benefit from up to 10 years of hormonal therapy after chemotherapy. Hormonal therapy is never given during chemotherapy nor during radiation therapy. What is “Tamoxifen?” Tamoxifen is an anti-estrogen medication (pills) that has been used with great success with ER+ cancers for three decades. It is now the primary hormonal therapy for younger, pre-menopausal women. It is also the primary drug for men with breast cancer. It is used for some post-menopausal women. What are “Aromatase Inhibitors?” Aromatase inhibitors (AIs) are a class of anti-estrogen medications (pills) that have proven to be slightly more effective than Tamoxifen for post-menopausal women. It is not recommended for younger, pre-menopausal women, except in certain circumstances. The three most common versions are Anastrozole (Arimidex), Letrozole (Femara), and Exemestane (Aromasin). What are the side effects of Hormonal Therapy? Side effects vary greatly from one person to the next for both types of hormonal medications. Some have no symptoms at all. Most have very tolerable side effects. Some patients will need to change hormonal therapy medications to find the best balance of cancer benefit versus side effects. Several side effects that are rather common for both tamoxifen and aromatase inhibitors are hot flashes, night sweats, joint pain, and vaginal dryness. Below, we list some of the other specific side effects for both drugs. Tamoxifen Side Effects: Increased risk of uterine (endometrial) cancer Increased risk of developing blood clots Slows normal bone loss in most women (a “good” side effect) Cannot be taken during pregnancy because of risk of birth defects or fetal death Can temporarily induce menopause in pre-menopausal women. Aromatase Inhibitor Side Effects: Can worsen bone loss (osteoporosis) in women Muscle and joint aches and pains Would an “Oncotype DX” assay help me? Patients who have a small, estrogen receptor positive, HER2 receptor negative tumor, and no evidence of cancer in their lymph nodes may benefit from an Oncotype DX genomic assay. This cutting-edge test looks deeper into your cancer cells to better identify people who may also benefit from chemotherapy with ER+ breast cancers. The decision to undergo chemotherapy, in addition to hormonal therapy, is a complicated one. Your medical oncologist uses many factors to help decide if you will benefit from chemotherapy. An Oncotype DX analysis of a portion of your breast cancer tissue can be instrumental in this decision.

Mary Anderson,Oral Chemotherapy Registered Nurse Clinician, with the Norton Cancer Institute, explains the different types of chemotherapy treatments available and what to expect while going through treatments. Mouth sores can present themselves after chemotherapy as redness on the inside of your mouth, a white coating on your tongue bleeding gums or trouble swallowing or chewing and having cracks on the corners of your mouth. There are several things that you can do to prevent mouth sores but even with the best prevention techniques possible you still might get mouth sores so don't blame yourself if it happens. First of all, you want to use a soft bristle toothbrush. Brush your teeth two to three times a day by even taking your toothbrush and running it under warm water so it softens the bristles even more. Rinsing your mouth out two to three times a day with a mouth rinse that does not contain alcohol or peroxide. There are many over-the-counter formulas and you can talk to your doctor or your nurse about what's best for you. Also you can use baking soda by mixing a teaspoon of baking soda in a cup water and rinsing your mouth out two to three times a day with that will also help. Foods that you might want to avoid would be foods that are spicy, foods that are very acidic or even very salty. Extremely hot beverage should also be avoided. If you do develop sores in your mouth, especially if it's difficult to eat or chew or swallow, make sure you call your doctor. There are prescription medications that your doctor can prescribe to help these sores get better. Learn more about chemotherapy https://www.nortonhealthcare.com/chemotherapy

We teach you how a simple ultrasound of your axillary lymph nodes can tell you more about your breast cancer and expand your treatment options. VISIT THE BREAST CANCER SCHOOL FOR PATIENTS: http://www.breastcancercourse.org LIST OF QUESTIONS FOR YOUR DOCTORS: http://www.breastcancercourse.org/breast-health-updates-latest-videos/ FOLLOW US: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Breast-Cancer-School-for-Patients-958519147618444/ __ Questions for your Breast Surgeon: 1. Will you ultrasound my axillary lymph nodes today? 2. If not, will you order an axillary ultrasound by a radiologist? 3. Would my treatment change if we found cancer in my axillary nodes? 4. What are the benefits of Neoadjuvant Chemo? 5. Why is Neoadjuvant Chemo recommended more now? 6. Why ultrasound my axillary lymph nodes before surgery? At diagnosis, one third of patients already have cancer in the lymph nodes under their arm (axilla). When the “Axillary Lymph Nodes” are involved with breast cancer your cancer is more threatening one. This information can dramatically change your treatment options. Studies have shown that “positive” axillary lymph nodes are commonly missed by your breast surgeon’s physical examination. A 5-minute ultrasound of your axilla can more accurately find cancer in these nodes. A pre-operative axillary ultrasound is a “cutting edge” advance in breast cancer care. Make sure to ask your breast surgeon about an axillary ultrasound when they are examining you. Many large cancer centers routinely utilize pre-operative axillary ultrasounds. How can this change my treatment plan? If an obviously abnormal node is found before surgery, then you have a more serious cancer. If appropriate, an ultrasound guided needle biopsy can be performed to confirm the node is involved with cancer. If you have cancer in your nodes, you will likely require chemotherapy either before (neoadjuvant chemotherapy) or after surgery (adjuvant chemotherapy). Regardless of the findings of an axillary ultrasound, a surgical evaluation of your axillary lymph nodes will be needed when you undergo a definitive breast cancer surgery. The surgical procedures used today for lymph nodes are a “sentinel node biopsy” or an “axillary dissection.” What are the benefits of knowing you have involved nodes? Knowing you have “node positive” breast cancer before surgery can empower your breast cancer team to search for more sophisticated treatment options. A simple axillary ultrasound for early stage breast cancer identifies more “node positive” patients. If you are found early in your journey to have node positive breast cancer, more pre-operative treatment options may be considered. We list some of the treatment benefits below. Multidisciplinary Cancer Team Lymph node “positive” breast cancer requires a more sophisticated treatment approach. An axillary ultrasound can help determine if you would benefit from a “multidisciplinary team” approach early on in your care, before surgery. Ask your breast specialists to present your unique cancer situation to their team so you will benefit from new ideas and cutting-edge treatment advances. Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy When you know you have involved lymph nodes at diagnosis, you likely will be offered chemotherapy at some point in your treatment. There can be distinct advantages to having chemotherapy before surgery, rather than afterwards. This is known as neoadjuvant chemotherapy. This complex decision is worth discussing with your breast surgeon. Breast surgeons choose the initial direction of your entire breast cancer treatment plan. An axillary ultrasound can better identify if you are a candidate for neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Take our lesson on “Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy” to learn more about the potential benefits of this treatment approach.

On today's Health & Wellness vlog with Faith Franz, we discuss what information is important on the food label for mesothelioma and cancer patients. Key nutrients to look for are the calorie content, what fats are in your food, and the amount of protein. Those cancer patients looking to gain weight will need to increase the amount of calories they take in a day, while those looking to lose weight can take in less. Also, everyone should do their best to avoid or reduce the amount of trans and saturated fats they take in, if you're unsure if those are included in your food, look at the ingredient list and make sure there are no hydrogenated oils. Lastly, protein is very important for cancer patients as it helps the body and muscles recover from treatment. If you have any questions or would like additional information on mesothelioma, visit us at www.asbestos.com or call us at 1-800-815-7324. Transcript: "Hi guys, I'm Faith and I'm the Health & Wellness blogger with The Mesothelioma Center. Today we're going to be looking at nutrition labels and talking about how you as a mesothelioma patient can use them to help fuel for optimum recovery. Now the first thing that you're going to see on a standard nutrient label is the calorie content of the food. Now your calories are going to tell you how much energy you get out of the product. Things with a higher calorie count are going to give you more energy, and things on the lower end of the spectrum your body will process a little bit quicker. Now the amount of calories you need each day is going to depend on your body size, your gender, your activity level and your weight goals. Now if your doctor thinks you might need to gain some weight because you are losing too much from chemotherapy, you're going to want to increase the amount of calories you take in a day. The best way to do that is to choose calorically dense foods like peanut butter or cream-based gravies, that give you about 200-300 calories per serving. Now if you're trying to lose weight, you're going to want to make sure your foods fall on the lower end of the calorie spectrum. As you move along down towards the bottom of your ingredient list, you're going to come across a section that talks about total fats. This incorporates four different types of fats. You've got your trans fats, your saturated fats, your monounsaturated fats, and your polyunsaturated fats. You're going to want to try to reduce the amount of trans fat and saturated fat in your diet, but the trick is food companies don't have list these ingredients if there's less than half a gram per serving. To make sure that you're not eating these without knowing it, you can take a quick peek at your ingredient list to make sure there are no partially hydrogenated oils. Now your fat can take up about 25 percent of your daily diet. Depending on how many calories you're eating this could be between 50 and 65 grams of fat per day. You can scale back towards the lower end if you're experiencing nausea or diarrhea from chemotherapy or radiation therapy, because sometimes it's hard for the body to break down extra fats and it can lead to extra digestive distress. The next thing you're going to find on your nutrition list is protein. Now this one is especially important when you're undergoing recovery because your muscles need a lot of protein to repair themselves correctly. You might want to shoot for about one gram of protein per pound of body weight while you're recovering from cancer. Some good sources are yogurt, lean meats, beans, and nuts. Now that you understand how these nutrients help your body recover, you're on your way to being able to fuel yourself properly through treatment. Of course you shouldn't make any of these changes before you talk to a dietitian or nutritionist. But if you do implement them, and they work for you, come on over to Asbestos.com and let us know. See you next time!" Cancer cells need to keep dividing. 02:54 The Warburg Effect: Almost 100 years ago Otto Warburg showed that cancer cells don’t undergo normal energy metabolism. 04:36 Oxygen and the Warburg Effect: This process occurs whether oxygen is present or not. In normal cells, we utilize lactate fermentation when oxygen is limited. Cancer cells do this even when oxygen is present. 05:42 Mitochondrial Dysfunction: There is widespread mitochondrial dysfunction in cancer. 09:04 Cell Division: Every time your cell divides, it has to copy its DNA. Mistakes will be made, but we have repair mechanisms that survey and fix mutations. 09:47 Lactic Acid and Cancer: The cancer field views aerobic glycolysis, or the Warburg Effect, as a beneficial adaptation of tumors. 12:45 Fat Consumption and Cancer: Fatty acids and ketone bodies are converted into acetyl-coA to enter the metabolic pathways at the level of the Krebs cycle. 14:03 Hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha (HIF1 Alpha): Tumors grow under chaotic abnormal signaling properties. In order to grow past a certain size, the tumor needs to make its own new blood vessels. The chaos makes the blood vessel network abnormal and inadequate. 16:30 Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy: At sea level, we breathe 20% oxygen. In HBOT, oxygen intake is increased to 100%. 19:02 Oxygen Free Radical Production: In some parts of the tumor there may be no oxygen and parts of the tumor may die. 20:10 Radiation Therapy and Oxygen: Radiation causes the formation of free radicals. 21:11 Oxygen Therapies for Treatment and Prevention: 22:38 Mitochondria Membranes: Healthy functioning mitochondria act as tumor suppressors. By preserving mitochondrial membrane, in turn helps to preserve mitochondrial function. A well formulated ketogenic diet helps with cell membrane integrity. 25:21 Insulin Signaling and Cancer: Insulin is a potent growth factor in cancers. Many cancer types upregulate insulin receptors and IGF receptors. Insulin promotes tumor growth. 26:20 Ketogenic Diet and Glucose: We don’t always get a remarkable drop in circulating blood glucose. 27:33 Pro-Oxidant Therapies: Oxidative stress is a double edged sword for cancer. Cancer cells at a basal level operate under more free radicals and more oxidative stress than our healthy tissues. 31:11 The Effects of Ketones: Ketones have anticancer effects. They have very important signaling and functional roles in our cells that have nothing to do with their role as energy metabolites. 33:09 Inflammation: It is a huge component in cancer origination and progression. Ketosis is anti-inflammatory. Beta hydroxybutyrate inhibits the assembly of the NLRP3 inflammasome that is activated during cancer, ageing and many chronic illnesses that incite inflammation. 35:56 Ketones and the Alterations in Oxidative Stress: Ketone metabolism decreases free radical production, reducing oxidative stress and increasing antioxidant capacity. 37:17 Ketones and Glycolysis: Some data suggests that ketones can inhibit glycolysis, an important pathway in cancer. 41:31 Restoring Anti-Tumor Immunity: The ketogenic diet restores anti-tumor immunity. 44:14 Ketogenic Cancer Benefits: There is not a lot of human data on the ketogenic diet and cancer. There are 12 clinical trials registered now. 46:44 Dr. Poff’s Morning Routine: She awakens early and spends quality time with her husband and pets. 48:27 Exogenous Ketones: The study of exogenous ketones is new. They have had a therapeutic effect in a wide variety of seizure models. Exogenous ketones are something that you consume that is either already a ketone or is converted into ketones in your body, or releases ketones.

http://bit.ly/cEztjl While each person deals with breast cancer differently, the emotional toll that you take on as you undergo any of the various breast cancer treatments -- breast cancer chemotherapy, breast cancer surgery, breast cancer radiation or various other breast cancer therapies -- can cause intense stress, which is not good at any level. The quality of cancer support you experience will make a difference to your quality of life and potentially to your outcomes. This video presents one patient's experience with breast cancer care. In it, Jane talks about the difference it made in her life. She was diagnosed with stage-3.5 breast cancer in the fall of 2007, and with such a large tumor, she needed extensive chemotherapy (to shrink it) prior to surgery. Thankfully, her surgery was a success, and today Jane is thrilled to say she is finally cancer-free.

Warriner was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2006 and, after induction chemotherapy, underwent autologous stem cell transplantation at MD Anderson. He eloquently shared his story at the colloquium and will soon present his experiences to a panel at the National Cancer Institute. Immediate and late effects of symptoms and toxicities of cancer treatment can cause great distress to patients, limiting their functioning during and after treatment, and sometimes causing premature termination of treatment or reductions in dose. Therapy-related toxicities also can limit the development of new treatment options. As a step toward addressing these issues, we convened a working panel in March 2011 at a colloquium that included stakeholders in cancer research, industry, regulatory agencies and advocacy groups. The participants came together in Houston to identify the challenges that have prevented progress in reducing treatment-related symptom burden. We also developed a list of strategic steps to address these challenges, and identified stakeholders and agencies that could implement them.

We teach you about multidisciplinary breast cancer care. You will get better care when your breast cancer specialists work together as a team. This is the foundation of NAPBC accredited Breast Centers. VISIT THE BREAST CANCER SCHOOL FOR PATIENTS: http://www.breastcancercourse.org LIST OF QUESTIONS FOR YOUR DOCTORS: http://www.breastcancercourse.org/breast-health-updates-latest-videos/ FOLLOW US: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Breast-Cancer-School-for-Patients-958519147618444/ ___________________________________________ Questions for your Breast Cancer Specialists: 1. Do you participate with an NAPBC accredited Breast Center? 2. Will you present my case to a Multidisciplinary Breast Conference? 3. May I meet your Breast Cancer Patient Navigator? 4. Do you work with a team of breast cancer specialists? 5. If you do not participate, would I benefit from a Breast Center? What is a Breast Center? Accredited Breast Centers are places where breast cancer physicians and healthcare facilities work together as a team to achieve the best possible breast cancer outcomes. These centers can be small or large and are multiplying into smaller communities across the country. The main benefit is that participating physicians can present your unique cancer situation at a Multidisciplinary Breast Conference. This discussion about you with other breast cancer specialists explores your treatments options to make sure “no stone is left unturned.” Breast cancer care is very complicated and there are sometimes multiple options for treating the same patient. Research has shown that cancer outcomes are better when you have a team, working together for you. Another advantage for newly diagnosed patients is the personalized assistance you will get from a Breast Cancer Patient Navigator. Patient navigator programs are designed to help patients navigate the complicated journey from diagnosis through treatment. The National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) is the driver for developing quality breast centers across the country. The NAPBC has developed numerous quality standards and services that are required for breast centers to be NAPBC accredited. Breast centers with this accreditation meet these standards and actively work as a team to assure quality breast cancer care in their respective communities. What is a Multidisciplinary Team and Conference? All accredited breast centers have a multidisciplinary team of breast cancer specialists that meet and review the treatment options for every newly diagnosed breast cancer patient. If your breast surgeon presents your unique situation to a team of physicians at a “Multidisciplinary Breast Conference” you may benefit from new ideas and cutting-edge treatment advances. Some patients have very complicated cancer situations that requires this team approach to determine a tailored, personalized solution. Breast cancer specialists that actively participate in breast centers also learn from each other how to better care for their own patients. We recommend seeking out a NAPBC accredited breast center if it is available in your community. What if my physician does not participate in a Breast Center? Many smaller and rural communities do not yet have breast centers and you can still receive excellent care if there is not a breast center near your home. But if there is a breast center in your community and your breast surgeon does not participate, it is important to ask them, “Why not?” Breast cancer physicians that work with an accredited breast center team may be able to offer you unique and important benefits. Breast Patient Navigators are your personal advocate Breast Patient Navigators are trained to help you through the complexities of your breast cancer diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. This journey requires making physician appointments, learning about your unique cancer, and undergoing tests and treatments that can tax your strength and endurance. Breast Patient Navigators know each step ahead and are your advocate to make sure you get the best care possible. Ask your breast surgeon if you can be introduced their breast center Breast Patient Navigator immediately upon being diagnosed with breast cancer.

BPH and prostate cancer treatment and benign prostate hypertrophy are common in older men. BPH is an enlarged prostate. Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is found in 80% of men over 70. Prostate cancer is shockingly present in as many as 10% of men age 20 and it greatly increases with age. The good news is BPH and prostate cancer treatment is effective and even stopped by diet and lifestyle. Mainstream medicine wants to treat prostate cancer with radiation, chemo, or surgery; however, the death rate with this treatment is no better than diet and lifestyle changes. The harmful side effects are worse with mainstream treatment. BPH, benign prostate hypertrophy, benign prostatic hypertrophy, and benign prostatic hyperplasia all mean a swollen prostate that is not prostate cancer. Prostate cancer grows slowly and most die with it present, but not because of it.

As we grow up, we are creative in our quantum self-identity, continually discovering new contexts of living, of being human. As we discover a new context, we also explore the secondary contexts available to us by combining new ones with the old learned contexts. We adapt and assimilate. This is a stage of homeostatic adaptation. This model of alternative spurts and homeostatic adaptation for ego development is substantially the same as that arrived at by the psychologist, Jean Piaget (1977) as a result of his long series of experiments with children. When we are spontaneous and alive in physical activities such as dance, when we feel one with the universe in a sudden moment of spiritual surge, when we are in meditative awareness, we are in flow. The experiencer tends to merge with the experience. Harvard neurophysiologist, Dan Brown (1977), established that meditation reduces the reaction time of secondary processing. There are reports of such flow experiences from cancer patients undergoing spontaneous remission. Quantum Gifts to Medicine This whole book is about the gifts of quantum physics to medicine. Here I will count the many ways quantum gifts are bestowed on health and healing. 1. Quantum physics allows us to integrate all the disparate philosophies of the various schools of medicine. 2. Quantum thinking enables us to develop a useful taxonomy of disease and healing. 3. Quantum physics shows us clearly that we can choose between disease and healing. We can exercise this choice once we get the hang of quantum leaping to unity consciousness, the quantum self. 4. Quantum physics enables us to understand anomalous phenomena of medicine such as spontaneous healing as instances of quantum creativity, distant prayer healing as instances of quantum nonlocality, and self-healing and spiritual healing as downward causation with pure intention. 5. Quantum physics even clarifies the role of allopathic medicine in integral healing. 6. Quantum physics gives clear guidelines for the doctor-patient relationship - tangled hierarchy. 7. Quantum physics clarifies and explains many hitherto mysterious facets of Eastern medicine, both Chinese and Indian, chakra medicine, homeopathy, and mind-body medicine. ⭐Learn more about Quantum University ⭐ 🎓Degree Programs Offered - https://quantumuniversity.com/degree-programs/ 💻Student Experience - https://quantumuniversity.com/student-experience/ 💙Career Paths - https://quantumuniversity.com/career-paths/ ❓ Request Information - https://quantumuniversity.com/request-information/ 👍 Like Us on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/QuantumUniversity

The situation is hardly ideal for either of them. Ella is scared her mother may die, but her grandmother seems to care more about her library full of books than she does about her very own granddaughter. But when a rare and beloved book, "Kepler's Dream of the Moon," is stolen from her grandmother's amazing library, Ella and her new friend Rosie make up their minds to find it. Finding the beautiful book her grandmother loves so much could even be the key to healing Ella's broken family. The New York Times calls this "... a delightful and surprising novel ..." An affecting and beautifully written story of family, forgiveness and the wonder of the stars, Kepler's Dream is a sparkling and memorable debut. Prof. Maurizio Muscaritoli presents the Premio study on the prevalence of cachexia in cancer patients. Video transcript: The prevalence of cachexia and malnutrition in cancer patients may vary according to the type of tumor and the phase during which the patients are studied. We now have data coming from a national epidemiological study we ran in Italy called the Premio study (Premio means Prevalence of Malnutrition in Oncology – PreMiO) which is quite a novel concept since we studied patients at their first medical oncology visit. This was an epidemiological study carried on by the Italian society of artificial nutrition and metabolism (The Italian Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition – SINPE) and the Italian association of medical oncology (Italian Association of Medical Oncology – AIOM) and gave very interesting results since we found that 62% of patients undergoing their first medical oncology visit (so not treated before) already had weight-loss...
