Game carts are becoming a valuable and important piece of a hunter's equipment. Carts come in handy as they are lightweight yet assist in carrying as much as a couple hundred pounds of harvested game or equipment. They do less damage to the land than an atv and of course are much quieter and compact. Many carts may breach the $100 barrier but here is a simple do-it-yourself design that you can build in less than 30 minutes and for the cost of-or less than-a good deer drag. Items needed are a 10 foot section of ¾ inch conduit, a 6 foot section of ½ inch conduit, a small rectangular wire fence piece (approx 3 ft x 4 ft), 2 bicycle style wheels, and tie straps. The conduit will run around $6, the fence you can often pick up as scrap, the bicycle wheels can be purchased used for around $5 or new for $20, and the tie straps you can pick up at most dollar stores. First you bend the ¾ inch conduit into a rectangular shape to make the outside frame of the cart with a portion (about 3 feet) sticking out on one corner. You then bend that portion upward at about 30 to 45 degrees. This portion will become the handle. Then lay the wire fence partition on the frame and secure with the tie straps. If you have some over hang on the fence, you can bend it around the frame as well. Then take the ½ inch conduit and place it about 2/3 to ¾ of the way toward the rear of the cart. This will make the axle for the wheels and supply additional stability underneath the wire fence. The reason you place it further back is so when you lift the cart by the handle the rear will not drag the ground. You can secure the axle by overlapping 2 tie straps on each side of the frame. Place the wheels into each end of the ½ conduit axle. Now you are ready to roll! The cart can easily be converted from a hand pulled cart to a bicycle or even four wheeler attachable cart as well. I tested the cart with 150 pounds without any buckling, and this particular one was made for less than $8.

- Anyone (in 10 mins) can create their own $30 very strong bicycle trailer out of an ordinary hand truck. Bruce Thomson in New Zealand explains in a slide show a demo of many he's made & used in many years. - Also gives 'surprise tips' on safety - attaching & carrying loads. These trailers take tiny space to store (vertical). - Note: With years of hard work, wheel bearings fail. Watch for wobbly wheels, replace/re-sleeve them. With huge weights, the tubeless wheels sheared their bolts going over deep pothole or steps, so don't put more than about 250kg while towing. Walking the bike 'safer. Can take big 8'x4' wallboard though, if you extend with a 4"x2". & rear crossbar. - See other vids:''No need for bicycle trailer - vertical load the carrier' and "World's cheapest 'Vertical recliner' bicycle", "Double glaze doityourself for 1500 dollars". "Watch me scale my own teeth FREE", and "Simple shower lid DIY - stops chilly drafts, prevents mildew, adds cubic m storage" - MAY 2013: Created 1M wide swap-in axle for stability. - SEPT 2013 Have just bought some (used) skateboard wheels, with a view to making a super-compact, telescopic-collapsible , strong trailer small enough to carry all the time on the bike. If/when it's done, I'll create a video and mention it on this video too. - MARCH 2014 Still saving lots of money by using the trailer free instead of paying deliveries or owning a car. Note: If you're thinking of adding an electric motor to the front wheel, it can endanger your control of steering, esp. at speed. When you turn, the wheel can twist unpredictably. Better to apply motor to back wheel instead.

How to fix a flat tire using expanding insulating foam. Works great for small tires like hand truck, dolly, wheel barrel, or small bike tires. I have also seen people using it in 4 wheeler mud tires. Doesn't add hardly any weight. You can do two hand truck tires or one wheel barrel tire per can. Shot this video on Oct 12, 2011. It is December 31, 2016 now and my tires are still nice and firm. Don't forget the water! Poly foam needs it to cure properly inside a sealed tire. Clean the tire out if it has any contaminants like old "fix a flat" or oil. Contaminants might break down the foam and keep it from curing. It is better to hold the can up side down unless you plan to shake it often. If you drill a hole in the tire or try to put the foam in thru the valve stem, a bunch of the foam will come back out due to the pressure. If you don't want to go in thru the bead, you can drill two holes in the sidewall. One to fill and one 180 degrees from that to relieve the air pressure. Wooden wheels cost a fortune to buy – but I found an easy way of making them for almost nothing. Apart from a bit of fiddly woodwork, there is a major challenge that needs overcoming for a wheelmaker – how to attach a rubber tyre. (You could in theory not bother, but everyone would hear you coming from miles away.) A rubber tyre (whether hollow or not) needs a channel to sit in, so the rim needs to be made of channel-section steel or aluminium – and that’s probably impossible to make without quite a big ring-roller. So, I looked again at the bicycle wheel and tyre combination – and really it’s very impressive. Light and strong and cheap. But there’s a problem with the axle – it’s designed to be supported at both ends, and it will bend if you don’t. So if you’re making go carts or carriages bike wheels don’t really work. Replacing the spindle requires replacing the entire hub – which means the spokes too. So you may as well start from scratch. Which is what I’ve done. Perhaps the key to getting these wheels tight and strong is making an accurate drawing in the first place. That way you can make all the parts accurately too, just by copying the drawing. In this case there are 8 spokes per wheel and 8 pieces that fit between them and 8 more felloes – 24 pieces, plus the hub. I made 4 wheels – so it was well worth my time to make two good templates / patterns at the start and use them to make all the 96 parts quickly and accurately. (I looked at different numbers of spokes – and they changed the appearance of the wheel a lot. An odd number probably looks best, but I settled with 8 for simplicity.) More to come on this project – keep an eye out on this channel. (Well, of course you could always subscribe. And like. And share. And send us presents. You know, whatever!) http://www.sherpatools.co.uk/acatalog/SHERPA-Garden-Trolley-Cart--SLGT.html This excellent 4 wheel garden trolley comes complete with drop down sides. It has steering to the front wheels which also have 4-ply pneumatic tyres and roller bearings. This trolley is essential for the large garden or paddock and can be pulled by hand using the supplied handle/towing hitch. It can also be towed on small vehicles such as quad-bikes or garden tractors using the supplied clevis pin adaptor. The sides of the trolley can be fully removed so it acts as a flatbed so that you can transport outsized objects. A really versatile and useful machine! We use these trolleys for moving heavy boxes as well as our garden tools and material. We have also had customers who want to use them for moving fishing equipment around, camping at Glastonbury and moving fire wood. This is a real alternative to a wheelbarrow offering a large load capacity while being very stable and easy to move around no matter what the terrain.

Asked by my grandchildren: “Build us a go kart grandad!” . Old pram wheels are not easy to find so bought new wheels from gokartdaddy.com. The wheels and axles are top quality but the same could not be said about the brake. It is poorly engineered and will not work using the supplied bolt. The solution is not difficult - by adding an extra bracket, mounted on a block screwed to the side of the kart solved the problem. The steering limiters are essential if you want to avoid crushed toes. The ‘R’ pins supplied with the wheels came out the first time the kart crashed into a hedge and a wheel came off. so were replaced with proper cotter pins. The total price for this project: £150. True, you could buy a ready-made kart for less but it wouldn’t be such fun or get the same envious looks, not just from other children but adults also. Have fun but please remember: a fully functional brake is essential and a cycle helmet would be a wise precaution.

One part bicycle wheel, couple of parts scrap wood, four small screws, one big washer...that's it! The assembly takes standard power hand tools (bench tools would be even better) and some wrenches and such. The whole project took 30 minutes tops (I wasn't keeping track really), but it's presented here -- through the magic of really fastness -- in under 10 minutes. Please let me know if you have any questions, because it may not be as clear as I think it is!

Let me know if you have any questions, comments, etc. And as always, your likes, comments, and shares mean a lot! Three notes: —You'll see me use a ruler to mark 1/2 and 1/3 points on boards throughout the video. This is a Jimmy DiResta trick. For example, let's say you need to divide a 5 1/4" board in half. Instead of pulling out a calculator, you can just slant your ruler to 6" and put a mark at the 3" point. That's halfway across the board. It's kind of tough to explain. You should just go watch Jimmy's ruler tricks video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4napZ3ZM0Og. —Later, I use copper wire as a make shift cotter pin. This works, but this soft metal will eventually shear. A steel nail would last longer. —You can't really see it, but I always wore my face shield (WITH safety glasses) while grinding or cutting. It's too easy to get flying crap in your eyes otherwise.

Here is my do-it-yourself canoe dolly. It's my solution for easily moving a loaded canoe or kayak from the car, truck or trailer to the water. I built it for less than $65. It folds up, built from chrome molly steel that will never rust, has ball bearing axles and a load capacity of 350 pounds. Large wheels make it easy to roll over rough terrain and locking breaks make it easy to launch, retrieve and position the canoe. You can even put all terrain tires on it. Perfect.

We have condensed buckets of experience, advise and recommendations into a modern cart intended to help you carry more of the stuff you need to survive. The EXODUS Evacuation Cart translates a number of these requirements and reccommendations into a relatively simple "tool" • Rugged Design & Construction Heavy guage aluminum construction formed on modern CNC equipment • Solid Urethane Foam Tires - NO FLATS! • Heavy Duty Locking Disc Brakes If you study history it does not take long to figure out that a useful cart needs good brakes. We do offer our carts without brakes for those that are not convinced they need them, but we always recommend the addition of brakes. We use mountain bike disc brakes with locking hand levers • Quiet Rolling, Man-Portable Transportation Too many Katrina victims improvised and used household rolling plastic "trash cans" to pack up and walk down the road only to discover that the bands of roving bandits were lying in wait to steal the few treasures they packed into the loud rumbling plastic wheeled beasts • Concealable Colors are chosen carefully to assist you in "not standing out" and to increase your odds of not being spotted by "bad guys" with poor intentions before you reach relative safety. There is no perfect solution here as nobody can predict all the backgrounds they must travel through but we have avoided bright colors for obvious reasons • Multiple Water Containers The basic cart carries seven 4 litre plastic water bottles (28 litre capacity) that are nested below the centerline of the wheel to counter balance the load and keep the center of gravity as low a possible. • OPTIONS M.O.L.L.E. panels for the cart exterior Level 2 or 3 bullet resistant panel Tow kits for mountain bikes & ATV's Receiver shelf for the back of a vehicle Litter / Cot top cover

Building a DIY off road Go Kart from steel tubing, online plans and a lot of welding! This was definitely the most amount of welding I've ever done on one single project. A lot of work but So Much Fun! And it even works... despite my best efforts ;) This was such a fun project and I was happy to have the opportunity to partner with Forney Industries on this build! Go check out their awesome line of welders, plasma cutters and other metal working products! https://www.forneyind.com/ Plans used for this build were purchased from SpiderCarts.com https://www.spidercarts.com/downloads/granddaddy-go-kart-plans/ Please let me know if you have any questions. Part 4 on How to build a Sunfish Dolly. Part 5 will be added in a few days when I get back from the coast! Thoughts on tire size: Diameter is more important than width. (as long as the width isn't TOO narrow!) When pulling the boat/dolly across very loose sand, a tire of small diameter sinks into the sand a little bit, so the tire is trying constantly go forward and "up" over this "wave" of sand that is built up at the front of it and impedes it from being pulled forward easily. If the tire diameter is larger, it overcomes this "wave" much easier. Think how easily a beach bicycle with fat tires rolls across the sand fairly well. Also, going over curbs and rocks is easier, if you will encounter them. There's not a whole lot of distance to cover from the parking lot to the waters edge on Rockport beach, but the sand is a bit soft. The dolly going across this sand did have just a little rolling resistance, but met all my expectations. Wasn't very much effort. Knowing what I do now, I'd build it the same, given the wheels I have found locally. I did an internet search for balloon tires before buying these, and did find some that were waaaaaaaay overpriced on a popular boat dolly website (19"x9", I believe) and would have worked better than these wheels, but these were cheap, light, fairly inexpensive and readily available. If you CAN find bigger wheels, go for it, and please leave a post on where you found them, price, weight, etc....! Overall, I am way happy with how this project worked out.\ Click on my username "Montgomery1177" above to find Part 5.

Graphene is a form of carbon that could bring us bulletproof armor and space elevators, improve medicine, and make the internet run faster — some day. For the past 15 years, consumers have been hearing about this wonder material and all the ways it could change everything. Is it really almost here, or is it another promise that is perpetually just one more breakthrough away? I show you how I built my homemade Go-Kart from other people's garbage. FAQ: Q - How fast does it go? A - It went up to 50km/h. Q- What is the HP? A- 6,5HP Q - No brakes? A - I actually did find a scooter disk brake, but it didn't fit the axle, and I was running out of time to modify the frame. It was extremely dangerous, I do not recommend anyone to do so. Luckily for me my Go-Kart slowed down considerably fast. Q - What is the song? A - Can't Stop Won't Stop let me use their song "Up and Away". Check them out : https://www.youtube.com/user/CSWSMusic Q - Would a Lawn Mower engine work? A - Yes, but it gets a lot more complicated and I have no idea how to do that. I really recommend finding a horizontal shaft engine. Q- Did you literally dive into your project blind folded? A- One of my first times trying the Go-Kart, I wanted to film a POV shot... I didn't have an action cam, so I mounted my DSLR onto my helmet, which blinded my vision. DO NOT TRY, I've never been that scared driving a Go-Kart in my life. In this video I (Mike) will show how to takes regular 10" Pneumatic Caster Wheels and customize it to what we call the Triple Threat Caster! The whole idea behind this style of wheel is not just for the looks, although they do look amazingly TOUGH ..... It has a function. Have you ever over loaded air wheels before??? I have... While using a flat bed cart to simply move a boat trailer, I placed the tongue of the trailer on the cart which has 10" pneumatic wheels and even though it had 35psi in each of the wheels the two wheels the tongue was over was compressed to the point where it was difficult to push the cart & boat trailer around and from that, an idea was formed. Now fast forward one year. While I was building the new roll away tool cart from the drawer cabinet I scored, I knew it would need to handle a lot of weight, be capable of going off road & function like a regular roll away would so I figured what better way is there to make the wheels even more heavy duty, well... ADD MORE WHEELS!!! Similar to the big rig trailers that move heavy equipment & have 10 wheels across the entire back. I went to Harbor Freight & purchased 4 10" pneumatic casters, 2 swivel & 2 ridged. Then began the process of making my idea a reality. I wasn't sure how the swivel casters would work out (because the wheels are off set & they swivel, they do have their limits) but over all they perform wonderfully & I definitely would do it again. Now all I need to do is modify my flat cart, just the back 2 ridged wheels & only add 1 wheel to the center of each...Hm mm, I shall call that the DOUBLE THREAT!!. The Disclaimer::::::::: 1.) Remember this is a modified caster. The triple threat caster is technically capable of carrying a larger load then the 300lbs these wheels are rated at by the manufacturer. With that said the caster it self does have its limits. While the wheels are stacked up, side by side with 35psi in each they can most likely handle 900lbs of weight per corner the METAL on the caster chassis (frame) was NOT designed to handle such a load. So it is only as strong as the metal the wheel axle attaches to. Also the rigid caster will be much more capable of handling heavier loads as opposed to the swivel casters which already has a strong angle & bearing that's designed to make it swivel in the first place. 2.) The casters were designed (by the manufacturer) to have the wheels centered between the chassis of the caster frame. Not offset 3". So it's possible while using the customised casters to run into a curb, rock, rut, anything large enough to stop the wheels while under way & cause severe damage to the metal by twisting or throwing the metal out of alignment. So I recommend using these custom casters on a relatively flat surface & simply be aware of their limits. Okay, got it? Good!!! Now the process of describing in further details how to do this in case you missed anything. First buy the goods. No need to modify the swivel casters unless you simply like the looks. If you do plan on doing this to all 4 casters all you need for the new axle is 2 36" rods. I got mine from the hardware store ($10 each) One of the axle rods will produce 3 10" long axles & the remaining 5.5"-6" can be what you use to transform the axle back to stock. The other 36" rod will produce one more 10" axle & the other 3 remaining 6" pieces to make it stock again if you ever wish to do so. Remember once you drill out the metal on the chassis the bolt will be worthless but save that anyway for what ever comes up.I suppose it is possible to reuse the bolt with a washer & a fitting that would fill the material that was removed but since I had extra axle lengths this is what I did... Pinch / clamp the metal opening on the caster to 3 7/8 before the new caster axle is drilled Lots of grease. Please note that in order to maintain the tire pressure & refill with air the triple threat caster will need to be taken apart while assembling the wheels always put the valve stem facing outward. Wheel alignment is important with the rigid casters. Be sure the axles are in line with one another to get even, less restrictive momentum. If they are not properly aligned this will cause excessive wear on the tire tread thus needing premature replacement. I do somewhat cover this in the last video while building the toolbox rollaway. Have at it. This is a easy project, $100-$200 depending how you work it. I paid about 15 for each caster, 4 for the extra 8 wheels each, 4 for the cotter pins all with 20% off coupons at harbor freight. I also paid 18 total for the 2 36" long axles + 20 for the 5/8 drill bit. Comment or questions welcomed!

The bulk of the build is here. Out of the pile of metal will immurge my newest creation, A homemade heavy duty industrial grade wagon. One man's trash is my treasure, well it will be when I am done with it anyway. I am build this wagon out of steel that I have had just sitting around. Being a "pack rat" has its perks. I decided to build this wagon to use this summer in my garden. A heavy harvest requires a heavy duty wagon to haul it in with. Right? Lets see if we can make a wagon that is up the Dan torture test.
