There are clinical studies showing this.1-6 THC, the active ingredient in pot… can decreases LH and FSH, which signals your testes to produce LESS testosterone. 1-6 It also negatively affects female hormones (estrogen and prolactin), stress hormones (cortisol and adrenals) and growth hormones.1-6 All of this could result in muscle loss, fat gain, depression, “man boobs”, impotence and similar negative effects.1-6 Obviously, smoking pot once in awhile isn’t going to cause long-term issues with your testosterone. However, there are studies showing that “chronic” usage can cause problems. Plus, I’ve seen the negative effects with my clients and professional athletes - both in performance and blood tests. Now, I’m not here to tell you to stop using marijuana - this is your life, I’m not here to judge it. I just want you to be as healthy AND happy as possible. Obviously, the less drugs the better. However, If you’re worried about your testosterone levels - whether you smoke pot or you want to continue using marijuana ... or you just want to improve your performance, look young, increase your drive and feel better - than make sure: Eat well - less processed foods. Exercise - lifting weights is the best. Sleep as needed - at least 6-7 hours. Take specific herbs, vitamins and minerals that can double or even triple your testosterone levels NATURALLY … ======================================== Thank you for watching. What Happens When You Quit Smoking?

03:50
What Happens When You Quit Smoking. Subscribe To My Channel (https://goo.gl/MQA6z9) ............................... What happens when you quit smoking. There are a lot of reasons to quit smoking. It's expensive, it makes your hair and clothes reek, and, honestly, it's just so 90s. But the biggest reason to butt out? Obviously, your health. You already know that smoking kills, but you may not realize just how dramatically quitting smoking can improve how you feel. You'll go through physical withdrawal. Time to rip off the band-aid: Quitting smoking can really suck in the beginning. People may not realize how addictive nicotine is until they stop using it. If you're quitting smoking cold turkey, it may be a tough time, at least in the beginning. Physical symptoms of withdrawal include headaches (that are suspected to be a result of stress) , dizziness (from a drop in blood pressure and heart rate) , fatigue, hunger, nausea, and coughing. You may also have an increased appetite and have trouble sleeping. All of these symptoms subside over time, usually sometime between a few weeks to nine months, depending on how much and how long you've been smoking. You'll go through psychological withdrawal, too. you may also face some psychological withdrawal symptoms. Mood swings, depression, confusion, a shortened attention span, jitters, irritability, and powerful cravings – both for cigarettes and for food – can be expected. Just remember: All of this is temporary! For most smokers, psychological withdrawal symptoms start to fade after about two weeks, and they'll likely be completely gone in nine months. Your blood circulation improves. Get this: Just two hours after you quit smoking, your blood circulation improves drastically. Nicotine raises your heart rate and blood pressure, and within just hours of quitting (sometimes just 30 minutes) , your heart rate and blood pressure lower to a normal, healthy rate. Your stroke risk drops dramatically. Smoking increases your risk of suffering a stroke by narrowing your blood vessels, which hinders your blood circulation to your brain. Though it's a gradual improvement, know that within 18 months to 15 years after you quit smoking (depending on how much, how often, and how long you smoked) , your stroke risk drops back down to that of a non-smoker. It's also important to note that if you're on hormonal birth control, you should not smoke under any circumstances as these combined behaviors present a potentially deadly stroke risk. You'll breathe a lot better. The good news: Your lungs will start improving in as little as a few weeks to a few months after you quit smoking. Norman Edelman, the chief medical officer of the American Lung Association, explained that within this period, "The little hair-like projections in the airways that we call cilia – which are paralyzed by smoke – begin to work again. Breathing will get better. Exercise capacity will get better." Food tastes better. Since your sense of smell improves when you quick smoking, this directly connects to your sense of taste, which can dramatically improve within days. Studies show that smokers' sense of taste is diminished and they have limited taste bud regeneration, especially with bitter flavors. When you quit smoking, you're much more likely to really savor your morning coffee, whose flavor is particularly dulled for tobacco users. Thanks For Watching. Subscribe For More Videos. Although caffeine is generally accepted as safe for consumption in moderation, there are some solid benefits to break the habit and stop drinking coffee, energy drinks, tea, soda, etc. A headache These can vary from mild to severe, although not everyone will experience a severe headache. Generally, you will only experience a headache from lack of caffeine if you have been drinking 500 mg of caffeine per day. That's about five cups of coffee. Many of the people's standards. But even if you get caffeine from sources other than coffee (such as tea or soft drinks) everyone will count for that 500 mg intake. You could sleep better Even if you feel tired because your body adapts to the lack of stimulants that you are used to, in the long run, you could sleep better once you start living a caffeine-free lifestyle, especially if you were used to drinking. coffee in the afternoon or evening. A study published in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine found that taking caffeine even six hours before going to bed can interrupt a person's sleep cycle that night. Try these ways of waking up in the morning without coffee. Low blood pressure Caffeine can raise your blood pressure a few points and even more in some people. Stopping coffee or caffeine can lower your blood pressure and keep your heart from working so hard. You may feel sick (but not for long) Headaches are not the only painful symptom of abstinence from caffeine. Those who stop using coffee have reported the side effects of depression, anxiety, dizziness, flu-like symptoms, insomnia, irritability, mood swings and slowness. Here is the good news: you will not feel like this forever. Experts say that most of the physical symptoms of caffeine withdrawal will pass after the first two days, while the rest of the side effects will not last more than a week or two. Constipation Caffeine tends to stimulate intestinal activity, so when you give up, you may feel a little (or a lot) recoil. If this happens, you can make things move again by eating lots of fiber in the form of whole grains, vegetables, and beans, drinking lots of water and exercising regularly. You can feel calmer If too much caffeine has left you writhing in your chair or shaking your leg, it's time to say goodbye to your double doses of espresso. Since caffeine is a stimulant, Naturally, it increases the levels of adrenaline and the stress hormones in your body. The abandonment of caffeine will make you feel less stressed and anxious. You'll have pearly white teeth again Because coffee is acidic, it can wear out tooth enamel over time. In the long term, it means that your teeth will not look as good and may even begin to break down. And the tannins in the coffee accumulate in the enamel, giving it a less than charming yellow smile. According to a study that compared teeth stained with tobacco and coffee, those who stained with coffee were more resistant to tooth brushing and are more likely to return to discolor after a bleach treatment.

7 Lifestyle Changes That Will Clean Your Arteries Naturally And Protect You From Heart Attack

03:39
this video is about 7 Lifestyle Changes That Will Clean Your Arteries Naturally And Protect You From Heart-attack Improving your cardiovascular health by clearing plaque buildup from arteries is a sure-fire way to decrease your risk of serious heart disease or stroke.  While there are surgeries and medications available that might do the trick, most of them come with some form of side-effect which can make you feel sick or weak for years of your life. Here are 7 ways to unclog your arteries by making simple changes to your lifestyle. 1.Stop smoking. The chemicals in cigarette and other tobacco smoke damage your blood cells, as well as disrupting the function of your heart and blood vessels. Each of these things leads to the buildup of plaque (atherosclerosis). Quitting smoking is one of the best steps you can take for the health of your heart and lungs. 2.Get more exercise. Exercise has a cascading effect that helps with a variety of the conditions that lead to clogged arteries. Regular exercise helps you lose excess weight, relieves high blood pressure, and lowers LDL (“bad”) cholesterol. If you’re new to an exercise regimen, you may need to start slower. Consult your doctor to set up an exercise plan appropriate for you. try Aerobic, Aerobic exercise is anything that gets your heart rate up. 3. Maintain a healthy weight. The changes to your diet and physical activity will go a long way toward bringing you down to a healthy weight. You can set an actual goal for your weight using the body mass index (BMI), which uses your weight and height to estimate your body fat percentage. Aim for the normal range, which is between 18.5 and 24.9 on the index. 4. Manage your stress levels. Experiencing high levels of stress releases stress hormones in your body that can have a chronic inflammatory effect, ultimately increasing your risk of atherosclerosis. If you experience high stress levels at work or at home, then it’s important to have proper coping mechanisms to relax and reduce this risk. Steps you can take to reduce stress include: • Increasing your level of physical activity. • Meditation. • Calming activities such as yoga. • Enjoying music, movies, or other art that you find calming and peaceful. 5. Reduce your alcohol intake. Alcohol abuse puts you at a higher risk for atherosclerosis. Generally speaking, men should limit themselves to two alcoholic beverages a day, and women should limit themselves to one. 6. Manage your diabetes. Having type 2 diabetes puts you at an increased risk of atherosclerosis. If you are diabetic, stay on top of the disease by performing your blood glucose testing, managing your diet, and staying physically active. 7. See your doctor regularly. Your doctor will want to monitor your blood pressure, cholesterol, and triglyceride levels closely as you make changes to help bring them into a healthy range. Keep regular appointments to monitor these indicators and mark your progress. Belly Swelling & Bloating as the Day Progresses?

Take Dr. Berg's Advanced Evaluation Quiz: http://bit.ly/EvalQuiz Your report will then be sent via email analyzing 104 potential symptoms, giving you a much deeper insight into the cause-effect relationship of your body issues. It's free and very enlightening. Insulin Resistance Data: https://www.drberg.com/insulin-resist... & Intermittent Fasting Data: https://www.drberg.com/how-to-do-inte... LOW CORTISOL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xaIeN... Dr. Berg talks about belly swelling and what is causing this problem. There are 2 reasons, one being insulin resistance and secondly is low cortisol. Insulin resistance is a state whereby there is higher amounts of insulin in the body, which is highly inflammatory. The second problem low cortisol because cortisol created from the adrenal is anti-inflammatory and if you do not have this hormone in the correct quantity, then stress through the day will cause inflammation and swell the belly. If you wake up and your stomach is small and go to bed and your belly is big. So if your belly swells and gets bigger and bloated through the day, then fix insulin resistance and maybe even low cortisol. 9 Things You Shouldn't Do on an Empty Stomach

10:36
9 important things you should avoid doing on an empty stomach. And by “empty stomach” we mean no less than two hours after your last meal. “You are what you eat” is a statement known to everyone. But do you know that what we do before a meal also has a great impact on our health? Also, we have a bonus: what you should eat when you're really hungry. Stay healthy! TIMESTAMPS Taking anti-inflammatories 0:49 Drinking coffee 1:48 Drinking alcohol 2:49 Chewing gum 3:45 Going to bed 4:52 Intense training 5:55 Shopping 6:50 Drinking citrus juice 7:47 Arguing 8:49 SUMMARY What you can do when you’re hungry. Well, there are at least two things that you should on an empty stomach. 1. Solve problems. Your ability to concentrate reduces when you’re hungry. According to research, this is the legacy of our early ancestors who had to focus all their efforts to get food. The hunger hormone also helps to perform various tasks, stimulating the brain activity. 2. Make choices. If you can’t decide on what to choose, try doing it on an empty stomach. Research shows that hunger leads people into more successful, even though more impulsive, decisions. Of course, you’d better not use this method when matters of finances, relationships, or health are at stake. 6 Effects Dopamine Has On The Body

04:33
Ever heard of dopamine? There's a good chance of hearing people talk about this chemical. It's typically known as the "feel good" neurotransmitter primarily because of its link to pleasure and reward responses. It's the chemical behind that's behind our dreams and deepest secrets. So what is Dopamine? Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that's synthesized in some regions of the brain from L-Dopa. Essentially, we produce this chemical when we consume foods that contain amino acids including tyrosine and phenylalanine. It's important to note that some symptoms are likely to occur when a person's levels become too high or low. High dopamine levels can lead to schizophrenia and cocaine addiction while low levels are associated with Parkinson's disease. But the big question is, "what are the effects of dopamine?" Join us as we explore just about everything you need to know! • Dopamine Boosts the Anticipation of Pleasure First off, whenever we come across a rewarding stimulus, the brain releases more dopamine and this pushes us to seek out the fun or pleasurable activity. For the most part, pleasurable experiences or moments like sex, games, eating tasty foods and even drugs can stimulate the release of dopamine. It's however important to note that dopamine doesn't mediate pleasure; instead, it enhances the expectation of pleasure in humans. The bottom line; you enjoy most of these pleasurable activities because of dopamine. • Dopamine Improves Memory and Learning The effect of dopamine in the brain helps with memory and learning. Essentially, dopamine is crucial for long-term memory storage and retrieval. What's more, this neurotransmitter reminds you of important events especially those that have motivational significance. It's also good to point out that Dopamine plays a big role in working memory; that's the capacity to use information from short-term memory to guide your actions. • Dopamine Increases Your Drive Also known as the "motivation molecule," dopamine gives us the motivational as well as the internal drive to do things. As we know, we usually do things because we find them to be worth it or rewarding. What you should know is that dopamine is the chemical that's responsible for your reward-seeking behavior — your drive is as a result of high dopamine levels. On the flip side, people with low levels of this neurotransmitter are less likely to work for things and care less about the rewards that come afterward. • Dopamine Controls Movement It's also good to point out that dopamine plays an essential role in movement. How? Well, the basal ganglia (largest and most important sources of dopamine in the brain) is the biggest factor that comes into play here — it actually controls movement. For the most part, the basal ganglia require high levels of dopamine to function optimally — this is just how it works. If limited amounts of dopamine reach the basal ganglia, several different voluntary motions may become uncoordinated — this is especially common in Parkinson's disease. • Dopamine Increase Wakefulness As humans, we're more likely to stay awake when we have higher levels of dopamine in the brain — this is precisely why you're always active during the day. On the flip side, dopamine levels fall during the night, and melatonin takes over; as you probably guessed, this chemical makes you sleepy! • Dopamine Processes Pain Besides its role in increasing your urge for exciting experiences, dopamine is also released when you come across unfavorable or sad events — more like when you have an epic argument with your boyfriend or girlfriend. Finally, you should be aware that dopamine has a link to addiction. Essentially, excessive intake of drugs can decrease dopaminergic function and eventually increase addiction to drugs. ▶ Subscribe to the channel! - https://goo.gl/nJ8d6r Royalty free Pictures from www.pixabay.com Royalty Free Music from Audio Library – No Copyright Music

Science Explains How Much Sleep You Need Depending on Your Age

09:21
How to Get Enough Sleep for Your Age. People usually think that 7–8 hours of sleep is enough, but that's not always the case. In fact, the number of hours you need to enjoy proper sleep depends and stay healthy depends on your age. Follow some simple rules to restore energy and get the most out of your recharge time. What happens when you experience a lack of sleep 1:09 If you constantly feel sleepy, are easily irritated, feel exhausted during the day, or often yawn, you most likely suffer from sleep deprivation. Not getting enough sleep also increases the risk of developing the following problems and diseases: exhaustion, depression, changes in hormone function, cardiovascular diseases, visual impairment, and diabetes. How much sleep is needed for your age 3:44 Scientists have established the connection between age and the required number of hours a person needs to have a good night’s sleep. Newborns 0–3 months old need about 14–17 hours of sleep daily. If you're the parent of a 1- or 2-year-old toddler, make sure they sleep for no less than 11–14 hours every day. Kids from 6 to 13 years old still need more sleep than adults: 9–11 hours. Young adults of 18–25 years old need less sleep: just 7–9 hours every day. The same can be said about adults between 26 and 64 years of age: 7–9 hours are enough for them to rest. Elderly people older than 65 sleep even less: 7–8 hours a day. Each person has individual needs, which may change these numbers. People who are sick, stressed, or, on the contrary, extremely active need more sleep to recharge. How to get enough sleep and feel refreshed every day 5:36 Fall asleep and wake up at the same time every day. A fixed schedule will regulate your body clock. Don't overeat, have tonic drinks before bed, and avoid cigarettes and alcohol. Create a cozy and comfortable atmosphere in your bedroom. The temperature in the room shouldn't be higher than 75ºF. A short walk in the fresh air before going to bed will help you fall asleep more quickly. Try not to use gadgets before going to bed, and turn off electrical appliances at night. Even if you aren't tired, you still need to go to bed at the same time every day. If you're lucky, you'll fall asleep after a short while. Not getting enough sleep weakens your immune system and can have serious consequences. Your emotional state can also be affected by a lack of sleep. -Scientists have established the connection between age and the required number of hours a person needs to have a good night’s sleep. The older a person is, the smaller amount of sleep recovery they need. -Fall asleep and wake up at the same time every day. Don't overeat or have tonics at night. Choose a comfortable bed and quality bedding. Try not to use gadgets before going to bed, and turn off electrical appliances at night. Avoid naps if you have problems with sleep. Dangers of smoking | Biology for All | FuseSchool

04:16
Did you know that smokers are twice as likely to have a heart attack? And that one in two smokers will die from a smoking-related disease. In fact all of these things are negatively affected by smoking… pretty much every organ in your body! Circulation; Heart; Lungs; Mouth and throat; Stomach; Brain; Skin; Reproduction and fertility; Bones We all know that smoking is bad, but do you know why? That’s what we’re going to discover in this video. When you pass someone smoking, does it make you cough or your chest feel tight? Perhaps you thought it was the smell? It’s actually because you’re inhaling dangerous substances into your body. Nicotine is a toxin that stimulates your body to produce adrenaline. This increases your heart rate and raises your blood pressure, thus making your heart work harder. It is also addictive, which is why it’s very difficult for smokers to quit. Tar contains over a thousand chemicals. It forms a tacky brown or yellow residue - which is why some smokers have stained teeth. And if you could see them - stained lungs too. Some of the chemicals in tar are carcinogens - so they cause cancer, making lung, mouth and throat cancers more common in smokers. The last culprit you need to know about is Carbon Monoxide. It is an odourless, colourless and extremely poisonous gas. The carbon monoxide permanently binds to haemoglobin in your blood, blocking oxygen from binding. So oxygen can’t be transported around the body and used for respiration, causing shortness of breath and fatigue. Your heart once more has to beat even faster to supply the body with the oxygen it needs. Let’s now look at some diseases caused by smoking... Emphysema is when the tiny structures in your lungs called alveoli, break down. As alveoli are responsible for gas exchange, this is not good news. The inhaled smoke causes the walls of the alveoli to weaken and decrease in surface area, making gas exchange less efficient. Unsurprisingly, breathing becomes much harder and smokers are much more at risk of coughs and chest infections. Smoking also causes the cilia in the lungs to become irritated, and produce excess mucus. So that’s the lungs. And we saw earlier that nicotine and carbon monoxide make the heart work much harder. Now the blood vessels. Plaque building up in the coronary arteries, so the ones that transport oxygen rich blood around the heart, can over time cause a blood clot to form, which cuts off some of the heart muscle and causes it to die. This is the most common cause of heart attacks. So we’ve seen that smoking increases your risk of heart, lung, kidney disease, strokes and cancers. Smoking can also make your bones more brittle and so more likely to break. And also it can greatly reduce fertility in both men and women. So, now you know some of the harmful effects smoking has on your body and why we’re told not to do it. But the good news… once you stop smoking, your health improves and your body will begin to recover. It’s never too late to give up! I lost 25 lbs in 4 weeks and was in full panic or near panic for 8 weeks straight mixed with the darkest most painful depression I cold have ever imagined. I immediately could not work and had to move in with my parents who, along with many siblings and friends, had to watch me 24/7 as I was a danger to myself. Eventually I was hospitalized in the Psych Ward for a week. Getting through each day seemed truly unbearable and I knew I would surely die. I have been put on many many different SSRI's SNRI's Tricyclics, Mood stabilizers, anti psychotics, holistic meds, acupuncture and even a form of shock therapy called RTMS. I barely saw any improvement in my condition for a full year. It was decided I had treatment resistant depression and I spent nearly every moment in tears. Weeks after starting my newest round of medications (Seroquel & Nortryptaline) as a last ditch effort, I had my blood drawn for possible hormone imbalances and my Testosterone levels came back 200 ng/Dl and 150 ng/Dl. The average 25 year old male has 750 ng/Dl. With this discovery I for the first time had any type of possible explanation as to why I was not getting better and why I might be so so sick. The symptoms of such Low T are very similar to those of major depression. I started Testosterone replacement therapy soon after and have been checking in with the world and documenting my experience with treatment as well as giving my insight and perspective on various topics of mental health. I am blessed to say that I have slowly, over the last 5 years, been improving and becoming more stable which I never thought to be possible. My low T manifested itself in the form of Major depression, anxiety, and depersonalization/ derealization for over a year. Treating my low testosterone has been 1 HUGE part of the puzzle but I have had to continue to work hard to hold on to my mental stability with many set backs. Gaining some mental stability back is nothing short of a miracle as I was near death for what felt like forever. I do not consider myself to be totally healed yet but I am closer now then ever before and aim to use what I have been through to help or at least offer support to others in need I was able to successfully come off my Seroquel and Pamelor. I work out all the time as a part of my mental health recovery!!! Weight training and all kinds of cardio rule much of my free time and I also share this on my channel.

It is about the time that you are not eating. 31:24 Insulin inhibits lipolysis, stopping you from burning fat. 32:24 On a 7 day water only fast, your insulin falls and you switch from burning food to burning fat. 33:13 During fasting, as your insulin falls, you get a counter-regulatory hormone surge, increasing adrenaline, noradrenaline, growth hormone and cortisol. 33:53 There is a period of gluconeogenesis at around 24 hours into fasting. You will burn protein, not muscle. 35:40 If the old protein is never broken down, you cannot build new protein. 37:26 You get much better retention of lean mass with an intermittent fasting strategy over cutting calories. 38:24 Biggest Loser style diets sink metabolic rates. 42:15 Women can fast. Ghrelin is the hunger hormone. Women have higher ghrelin spikes. 43:01 If you don't eat over 24 hours ghrelin spikes 3 times, at breakfast, lunch and dinner, then drops. Hunger does not continue to increase. 45:04 Cravings disappear with fasting and keto. 49:38 You can eat high carb foods and keep low insulin. 51:09 Sugar is more fattening than other carbohydrates. 53:51 Natural foods have natural satiety mechanisms. 01:08:31 Type 2 diabetes is misunderstood by doctors. 01:10:08 Blood glucose is a symptom of type 2 diabetes. We treat the symptom, not the disease. 01:12:15 Type 2 diabetes is reversible, except for the very late stage. 01:16:42 The longer you've been overweight the more it effects weight loss. 01:18:08 There are conflicts of interest in medicine. Much evidence is produced by pharmaceutical companies. Universities take funding from industry and produce shoddy research. 01:30:21 Bias in nutrition science is rampant and has stymied the advancement of actual science. Special interest needs to be out of research.

How to Burn the Most Fat

11:30
Take Dr. Berg's Body Type Quiz: http://bit.ly/BodyTypeQuiz Go to http://www.drberg.com If you would like an online or in-house health evaluation call 703-354-7336. Dr. Berg talks about how to lose belly fat and weight loss. Fat burning is a big problem because of so many myths and misconceptions about belly fat burn. There are two major fuel sources that the body uses - stored sugar and fat. The Fat burning hormones trigger the fat in the body which is then absorbed by the fat enzymes and release ketones (which is an efficient source of energy). Fat making hormones trigger the storage of sugar and convert sugar into fat. Most people are burning sugar which then converts to glucose and not burning fat. In the next part of the video, Dr. Berg discusses about the single most important factor that determines whether a person burn belly fat or sugar. Insulin (hormone) is the single control factor. Insulin even in a smaller amount can stop burn belly fat. Sugar (or Insulin) has to be zero in order to burn fat fast. Ketosis is the healthiest fat burning foods for the heart, brain. For Ketosis, Carbohydrates has to be 5-10%, Proteins should be 25%, Fats should be 65-80% in a daily diet. Ketosis should ALWAYS be done with ALL the facts, and knowing how to handle anything that comes up. In my NEW Body Type System, we will give you that understanding. It's vital to understand the nutrition that needs to bee kept in balance, the fluid amounts, the amounts of carbs, fats and proteins, and the types of these macronutrients with regards to your body type. **Made 1 math mistake on the eggs. The correct answer is this: 1 egg yolk is 138 grams of cholesterol and it would take 14 1/2 egg yolks to equal the amount of cholesterol your body makes in one day. In this video, you'll learn the two types of fuel (glucose and ketones). Ketosis is the breakdown of fat. Ketones are more efficient than glucose and puts out more energy. Insulin must be kept to close to zero. Dietary fat must be raised considerable. Here are some studies that show how safe this diet is: http://www.biomedcentral.com/content/... http://www.ketogenic-diet-resource.co... http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/artic... HOW to quit Sugar & Unhealthy Habits

The key to quitting sugar is understanding the 5 things in your way: Your brain, environment, habits, gut and (maybe) friends. ▲Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/WILearned ▲Twitter: https://twitter.com/jeverettlearned ( Bitcoin Donations: 1G8K61AS6bytBUcqNzzag7xuo6XJ6SCU7J ) Diet and health has always been a big topic as of recently, especially with the number of overweight and obese people with diabetes increasing. While there is a bit of a fight between low carb and high carb, the thing that deserves the most attention is quitting sugar, as cutting out refined sugars and processed foods is the most sure-fire way to improving health and regulating weight. As your body makes the transition from your reproductive years to menopause, you'll notice some subtle or NOT-so-subtle changes in your health, as well as some obvious signs that menopause is on its way. The casual name for the time before menopause is "premenopause" but medically speaking, the correct term is perimenopause. The prefix "peri" means "around, about or near," which is perfectly descriptive of the events the occur prior to menopause. The symptoms of perimenopause are caused by changing hormone levels in your body. Primarily, your reproductive hormones of estrogen and progesterone are rising and falling at an uneven rate, resulting in longer or shorter menstrual cycles and possibly skipped periods. More symptoms of perimenopause also may include: -- Hot flashes -- Insomnia (with or without night sweats) -- Fatigue -- Menstrual Irregularity -- Decreased Sex Drive -- Brain Fog or Difficulty Concentrating, As well as emotional changes like -- Irritability -- Anxiety -- Depression -- Mood Swings similar to PMS but WAY worse -- and Crying spells or "weepiness" Perimenopause is a completely natural transition as your body prepares for a new phase of your life. Weight Gain and Menopause

06:30
Weight Gain and Menopause. Overview: When you think of menopause, you might automatically think of hot flashes and mood swings. While a drop in estrogen and progesterone (which occurs during menopause) certainly causes these symptoms, another notable change many women experience during menopause is weight gain. According to research, women may gain an average of 5 pounds during menopause. Women who all already overweight are more likely to gain weight during this period in their life. Learning how to fight potential weight gain now can make it easier to maintain a healthy body weight over the course of a lifetime. How menopause causes weight gain. Menopause marks significant changes. Not only do your periods finally stop, but you are no longer capable of having children. This is because your body no longer releases the levels of estrogen and progesterone required for fertility and reproduction. It’s important to note that menopause-related weight gain doesn’t happen overnight. In other words, you won’t suddenly gain 10 pounds after your periods stop. Rather, the weight gain is more gradual. Poor lifestyle habits and other factors can increase your weight gain as well. Other causes of weight gain. While weight gain may be attributed to menopause, other factors can increase the total amount gained. For instance, you might notice more weight maintenance issues: *under times of stress. *when you don’t get enough sleep. *during family changes (such as children leaving the nest, or a divorce). *with job or relationship issues. *when quitting smoking. *while consuming alcohol frequently. *while taking certain medications (such as antidepressants). Genetics can also play a role. If your mother dealt with weight issues during menopause, then chances are you also might have difficulties managing your weight as you go through it. Age itself presents a lot of changes when it comes to weight. Once you hit your 30s, your metabolism slows down. During this time, you may find it harder to maintain your weight without making changes in your eating patterns and exercise habits. The circumstances only make it harder as you reach your 40s and 50s. This is because muscle mass naturally decreases while body fat can increase. Without muscle mass, your body doesn’t metabolize calories as efficiently. This can lead to unwanted weight gain. So menopause can lead to weight gain, but it isn’t the only cause during this stage of life. Complications of menopause-related weight gain. Significant weight gain during menopause means more than not fitting into your favorite dresses and jeans. It also poses potential serious consequences to your health. In fact, gaining weight in your 40s increases your risk for: *breast cancer. *depression. *heart disease. *type 2 diabetes. Also, if you already have a chronic illness like type 2 diabetes or hypothyroidism, weight gain can worsen your symptoms. Tips for weight management. Despite all of the supplements and other supposed solutions to menopause weight gain that are available these days, there’s no magic formula for stopping it. Under your doctor’s supervision, you can minimize menopause-related weight gain with a healthy lifestyle. This includes eating fewer calories, exercising regularly, and building muscle. Dietary changes. According to the Mayo Clinic, most women need to take in 200 fewer calories per day once they reach their 50s compared to when they were younger. Try to avoid extra calorie sources that don’t provide nutrition, such as sweetened drinks and sodas. Benefits of aerobic exercise. For success with an exercise routine, it’s important to prevent boredom and isolation. Change up your routine and try new classes and DVDs. Walk a new route for a change of scenery. You may also enlist a workout buddy to help keep you motivated. The goal is to work up to a total of 2 hours and 30 minutes of aerobic exercise a week. 8 Sleeping Habits KILLING Your Gains!

09:31
Pick your program here - http://athleanx.com/x/my-workouts Subscribe to this channel here - http://bit.ly/2b0coMW The way you sleep can have a direct impact on the muscle gains you will ultimately see from your workouts. I’m going to show you how 8 popular sleeping habits are possibly interfering with your ability to build muscle and remain injury free. Don’t be embarrassed if you wind up finding out that you are doing at least a few of these. The important thing is that I’m here to help. The first thing that you want to do before you even get into bed is stretch. Now I’m sure you’ve heard that it is not good to do static stretching before working out but do you know why? The reason is twofold. When you stretch before lifting you are interrupting the stored motor patterns that your body has to make movement efficient and memorable. This means, with the new muscle length provided by the stretching your bench press movement will not match up with the one that is stored. This leads to awkward pressing and an increase likelihood of injury. The second thing that occurs is that the increased length disrupts the overlap of muscle fibers and interferes with the strength of contraction. If this happens, you can expect to see a decline in your strength levels and force output at the exact worst time that you would want that to happen, just before your workout. Next, you want to be sure you adjust the sheets at the end of the bed before you even get in it. Why? This is because the tightness of your sheets will directly impact the tightness of your ankles in the long run. When you lay in bed your ankles will be pulled down into plantarflexion because of the sheets that are tucked in to the end of your bed. If you stay in this position for say 8 to 10 hours, you can guarantee that your calves will get tight and your ankle will lose mobility over time. Try squatting with bad ankle mobility and you will quickly see your leg gains go down as you no longer can descend low enough in the squat. The health of your shoulders is paramount to a big upper body. Just ask anyone who has ever injured their shoulder what it meant to their ability to lift and make gains in their chest, arms and back not to mention their delts. The key is to limit the tightness that is likely to happen just by avoiding common but bad sleeping postures. If you lay on your side with your hand under your head, make sure you don’t do this on top of the pillow. You can see instantly how this internally rotates your shoulder and leads to tight posterior shoulder capsules. If you place the hand under the pillow however you can dramatically change the situation and actually help to restore some lost external rotation. The same can happen when you lay on your stomach. Your arms get internally rotated at the shoulder to support your head on the pillow. Even worse however, your low back takes a beating as you compress your lumbar spine and adaptively shorten your lumber paraspinal muscles. This leads to the all too common low back pain. The best way to sleep is either on your back with the sheets loosened at the end of the bed or on your side with your legs straight and a pillow between your knees. Either way, you are minimizing the damage that you are doing to your body for extensive periods of time every night and giving your body a better chance of making pain free gains in the gym. Finally, upon waking make sure you immediately start the rehydration process by drinking two 12-16 ounce glasses of water. You have just gone a long period of time without drinking any water so you will want to get this in you to provide the environment for muscle gains. And of course, never underestimate the value of good sleep. Cortisol will be released by your body the less sleep you get. This will directly counteract the benefits of testosterone and lead to less muscle. Sleep as much as you can. If you are looking for a program that prioritizes muscle recovery as one of the main ways it helps you to build muscle much faster, head to http://athleanx.com and get one of the ATHLEAN-X Training Systems that best suits your goals. Pot Is Being Smoked By More And More Pregnant Women

00:32
More and more pregnant women are smoking pot to ease their morning sickness or to ease their anxiety caused by hormonal changes. According to cnn.com, “The prevalence of marijuana use among a sample moms-to-be in California climbed from 4.2% to 7.1% from 2009 through 2016.” Unfortunately, smoking pot while pregnant can cause low birth weight and developmental problems. Marijuana use is growing mostly in women who are 24 or younger. http://www.cnn.com/2017/12/26/health/marijuana-pregnancy-statistics-study/index.html http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com

Avoid These 3 Things & Boost Low Testosterone

Lower Estrogen Nutrient: https://shop.drberg.com/estrogen-bala... This can be used for men and women. Take Dr. Berg's Advanced Evaluation Quiz: http://bit.ly/EvalQuiz Your report will then be sent via email analyzing 104 potential symptoms, giving you a much deeper insight into the cause-effect relationship of your body issues. It's free and very enlightening. Dr. Berg talks about low testosterone and it's symptoms, it's causes and solution. There are things you can do to boost low testosterone (adding zinc, vitamin D, vitamin A and getting better sleep). However, what is even more important is to avoid or lower these 3 things: 1. Insulin (lower this hormone). 2. Estrogen 3. Cortisol Out of these 3 hormones, estrogen is the most common elevated hormone in men. This comes from mostly from consuming commercial chicken and beef because of the soy feed given to these animals. You must get grass-fed animal products because soy is highly estrogenic not to mention being GMO. And adding the GMO corn feed on top of these can really effect your hormones.
