As requested by one of my subscribers, Phyllis Mc Donough, I have put this film together to show many ways of using different mediums and methods with both transparent and opaque paints, inks and pastels. I hour long and loads of tips and demos. If you have a specific problem I have not dealt with in my films, in subjects I cover, by all all means ask?

Therrell High School strongly supports providing students, teachers and parents with current, information as it relates to the success of all students. Therefore, transparency is the key. Therrell High School developed a plan, which required teachers to use the Blackboard online learning-management system to insure that everyone is informed in the day-to-day teaching and learning at Therrell High School. Each teacher is required to link their Blackboard site to the school's website and each teacher site includes information such as assignments, classwork, syllabus, etc. Therrell High School also uses Blackboard as an instructional portal. Blackboard is used as a depository for lesson plans, and a learning platform for teachers and the leadership team. - Jan Dickerson, Educational Technology Specialist

Have you ever found yourself needing to add a transparent layer of paint to your art project, but you don't have the right colour or you only have opaque paints? in this video tutorial, i will show you how to turn any opaque paint into transparent paint without using water. If you add too much water to your paint, this breaks down the strength of the paint. I'll also cover the importance of knowing your colour index numbers and paint properties. How to find out the type of an oil color: the symbols on the tubes and how you can use the transparency in painting. Oil colors have four types of transparency: transparent colors, semi-transparent, semi-opaque colors and opaque colors. The transparent colors will be translucent even if you place them in a thick layer. Opaque colors completely cover a surface. ----------------------------------- https://www.patreon.com/daniil_belov_art_lessons - support me and I will create more lessons. ----------------------------------- Drawing and painting lessons by artist Daniil Belov. My brushes are not expensive to purchase, they cost around $1-4 USD, some prices may vary on the different brushes used duo to special use of each brush. Remember that with each brush you use you will have a different experience and a range of different feeling. The important thing is that you and the brush work as one to find the balance between creation and skill. The artist's hand is very important in making the painting and to feel the way the water on the brush moves as the brush creates the ultimate master piece. ❖Improve your painting skills Sometimes people ask me that they've been painting for months, but they think nothing improved. - Well, I want to say that I have been painted for 15 years and I enjoy my painting every moment. If you enjoy your painting, that is the right way to go forward. Don't be hurry. You just need time. Now you keep improving your painting skill. ❖ Contacts IG, FB: @jayartpainting E-mail : email@example.com ( If you have any questions please feel free to contact me ) ........................................................

The W&N golden ochre I used is actually semi transparent rather than totally opaque, but because of it's heavy nature it works almost like an opaque. I used angular brushes for the main washes 1/2,3/4 and for small details small round brushes 0,1. I created this video just to show you how to paint clouds with white gouache. You can choose just to do the first layer, which is very washed off and light BUT if you like the paintings to be more vibrant and rich in colors like I do, you can continue adding layers of Quinacridone Red and play with the white gouache. White gouache is an opaque watercolor, so regular watercolors are transparent but gouache is opaque. I personally do not like chinese white or titanium white watercolor and that's how I discovered White Gouache :) All the annotations on the colors and brushes are in the video. Our topic for today is Introduction to Light. Light is a form of energy that enables us to see all the things around us. The main source of light on the earth is the sun. Plants are able to prepare their own food using sunlight. Some other objects also give out light. They are known as luminous objects. For example, bulbs, lamps, candles, etc. are luminous objects. While there are some objects that do not give out light. They are known as non luminous objects. For example table, cloth, bag, utensils, etc. are non luminous objects. Non luminous objects are generally of two types, transparent objects and opaque objects. Transparent objects are those that allow light to pass through them, like glass, water etc. While, Opaque objects are those that do not allow light to pass through them, like wood, stone etc.

Pansy and Butterfly REAL TIME tutorial & LUKAS 1862 Watercolor 48 set REVIEW! Today I will review the 48 half pan set of LUKAS 1862 watercolor paint and compare it side by side (swatches) with other artist paints such as Sennelier, Holbien, Winsor & Newton, M Graham, QOR by Golden and many others. Then we will paint a vintage postcard design of a butterfly and pansies. I hope you paint along! *Note, the Review is first for about 12 minutes and then the painting tutorial is the remainder of the video:) Supplies: Watercolors (I used LUKAS 1862, you can use whatever you have, even thinned down acrylic!) 14-# watercolor Paper 6"x9" (Aquabee) Brushes #2 #8 round (Mimik Squirrel) Follow along with the step by step tutorial to paint this pretty scene! Lukas 1862 Watercolor 48 half pan review: Pros: Artist quality paint with tried and true pigments 35 out of 48 colors are single pigment colors Price (half or less than other artist quality brands) The paints are available in sets as well as single half pans, while pans and 24ml tubes ranging from $2.50-$7.69 each currently on sale a Jerry's Artarama. (I have not used the tubes) Highly pigmented-strong colors Unique characteristics between colors (some are smooth, some granulate, some transparent some semi opaque) Glazes well The palette that comes with the paint is an enameled metal (steel? it is magnetic) and the pan holder tray lifts out for easy cleaning and so you can have additional mixing area. Cons: I feel that the paint could use a bit of honey or more gum arabic to improve luminescence and transparency but that can be added and it is a nit-picky thing. The palette stained with the pthalocyanne colors but it was mind and it probably will come off with a magic eraser (but I don't have one right now) Bottom line, if you are looking for an affordable artist grade watercolor set give them a try. a 12 half pan sets starts at $30 or grab a few tubes or pans and see what you think. This Key Stage 2 science lesson starter asks questions about light through the medium of a story and encourages further discussion on the subject. Two friends, Liz and Heather, go to the seaside for a holiday and encounter problems with the lights in their hotel. Their seaside trip soons turns into a spooky experience in the dark with torches and shadows. Throughout the story, questions about shadows, opaque and translucent materials, and light travelling in a straight line, are asked. This video is part of the Lesson Planning Pack - Light for KS2 science, which includes two lesson starters, one great lesson idea and a CPD discussion. Licensed to CPD College Ltd.

*** Newest Video: http://www.evancarmichael.com/Masters/ *** Like this video? Please give it a thumbs up below and/or leave a comment - Thank you!!! Today we're going to look at how the son of immigrant labourers went against the dream his parents had for him to become a preacher and built one of the most successful companies in the food production business. This is the story of Henry Heinz and the top 3 lessons that you can learn from his success. "To do a common thing uncommonly well brings success." - Henry J. Heinz To learn more check out my list of Henry J. Heinz articles at http://www.evancarmichael.com/Famous-Entrepreneurs/2715/summary.php or http://community.telustalksbusiness.com/blogs/talk_business/2011/02/28/3-lessons-from-henry-heinz-from-immigrant-farmer-to-ultra-successful-entrepreneur Action Item #1: Create a Catchy Slogan Whatever industry you're in, you probably have many competitors. How can you stand out from everyone else? A great way to cut through the clutter is to create a catchy slogan that highlights what you're really good at. Heinz was looking for a slogan while riding on a streetcar in New York one day in 1896. He then saw an advertisement for a shoe store; it read "21 Styles." According to Heinz: "I said to myself, 'we do not have styles of products, but we do have varieties of products. Counting up how many we had, I counted well beyond 57, but 57 kept coming back to my mind. Seven, seven -- there are so many illustrations of the psychological influence of that figure and of its alluring significance to people of all ages and races that '58 Varieties' or '59 Varieties' did not appeal at all to me as being equally strong." With that, Heinz immediately jumped off the streetcar, went down to the print shop, and drafted up a card with the new 57 Varieties slogan. Reflecting back, Heinz acknowledged: "I myself did not realize how highly successful a slogan it was going to be." Action Item #2: Be Unique with Your Promotions Another great way to cut through the clutter and have potential customers pay attention to you is to be unique with your promotional campaigns. No tactic was too flashy or gaudy for Heinz. He wanted his products to stand out and shine -- literally. In 1900, Heinz decided to erect the first ever electric sign in New York City, on the corner of Fifth Avenue and 23rd Street in Manhattan. Standing six stories tall, the sign was a large electric-lit pickle that bore the Heinz name and its "57 Varieties" slogan. In the display room below the sign, Heinz's employees could be seen packing miniature pickles into bottles. The sign took 1,200 light bulbs to build and cost the company some $90 every night, but for Heinz, it was all worth it. For years, this electric pickle impressed shoppers along the famous New York strip and served as invaluable advertising. Heinz was a master promoter, and was even responsible for pioneering one of the major trends in the industry. Obsessed with quality, freshness, and cleanliness, Heinz invented the concept of the "factory tour." Anyone who was interested in seeing how Heinz produced and packaged his products was now allowed to witness the process first-hand. He was confident in his operations and believed opening it up to the public would help build confidence and trust in his company. The move sparked an outburst of positive publicity, not to mention a wave of copycats. Action Item #3: Have a Quality Product and Be Proud of It Most of the famous entrepreneurs achieved success not because they were trying to make a lot of money but because they created a product or service that was good quality and they were proud to make and promote. Heinz was very proud of all of his products. In addition to allowing the public access to his factories, Heinz also opened up his products to them -- literally. He was one of the first to ever package his products in clear, glass bottles. Heinz's competitors would often use filler ingredients to pump up the volume of their products, and then conceal the fact by using opaque, coloured containers. Heinz wanted his customers to see exactly what they were buying. He was proud of his products' quality and offered transparent bottles to ensure customers they were getting their money's worth. Heinz's biographer, Robert C. Alberts, claimed that Heinz had hit on one of the most important and shaping business ideas of his time: that a pure article of superior quality could find a ready market through its intrinsic value, so long as it was packaged and promoted properly. Closing Thoughts Do you have a catchy slogan? What's the most unique promotion you've ever done? What part of Henry Heinz''s message impacted you the most? As always, I'd love to hear your thoughts if you leave a comment below! *** Music by Calikokat: http://www.youtube.com/user/calikokat1

Colors I use solvent based Metalflake Candy colors (should be the same as House of Kolors candy) and a solvent based opaque black and white the colors are mixed with one part clear coat and one part thinner (or solvent or reducer )to this mix you add the color pigment that you like as soon as the thinner is evaporating the color pigment is dry and clear coated , so you can wipe over it it´s waterproof and there are realy bright colors in my classes I recomend that you should have 5 Airbrushes a black and white Airbrush ( opaque) and a red,a yellow and a blue Airbrush ( transparent candy color) with the transparent colors you can mix any color there is right on the surface you are painting at so you don´t need to buy hunderets of different color shades you can just use the three colors like a ink or laser printer ( from your computer ) ... Paper used in the Videos ??? the paper that I use in the Videos is called CHROMOLUX Paper ( superior cast-coated, one-side, high-gloss surface, excellent print performance and luscious surface effects ) Airbrushes the airbrushes I use are called Vega 2000 or Omni 3000 ( 0,3 - 0,5 mm Needle/Nozzle ) with a pressure of 3 bar ( 43 p.s.i ) if you are planning to do some airbrush with the use of stencils you can buy cheaper airbrushes if the stencils are good in my classes I use an Airbrush pistol ( double Action ) from China that costs about 30,- euro , my advise if you have fun with airbrush buy yourself 5 pistols from the same manufactuer ( if something breaks you can always yous the spare parts) The colors I used are an opaque black and white ,the other colors are transparent ( Candy Colors ) red , blue and yellow. with this color combination you can create every color on the painting surface and you can work without cleaning. after you are finished you clean the basic parts and next time you use the airbrushes you use everytime the same airbrush with the same Color about cleaning the stencils I concepted the stencils for my work so that I didn´t have to clean them every time after I used them with the use of the first black stencil you have all the points in the picture to fit in the other stencils. I never clean the stencils because you can easyly destroy small details but I use them hundreds of times without quality loss and the material is solvent / Thinner proof so you can wash them in thinner about the quality... instead of an instructional DVD ( that some artist sell with their stencils) I decided to use a free for all you tube film system everything that you see in the videos can be done by you and the stencils there is no need to do a huge amount of freehand work to finish the picture like other stencils this stencil technique increases your working speed so you can do more and earn more money I´m working a lot on shows and conventions so I have to work very fast and in high quality so I´ve produced for myself these highly detailed stencils that don´t need to be cleaned after the work .
