Bad breath or halitosis is a foul odor that comes out from the mouth due to many reasons like dry mouth, gum diseases, sinus condition and other respiratory problems, build-up of bacteria, stress, poor oral hygiene, stress, etc. It is an embarrassing condition especially at an inopportune moment like first date, job interview, parties or any social gathering. However, it is not possible to use mouthwash repeatedly to combat bad breath but the usage of natural remedies like baking soda will effectively clear bad breath and makes you feel the fresh breath from your mouth. Baking soda or bicarbonate of soda helps to maintain good oral health by simply balancing the acid levels in the body and here are some of its properties that clear the bad breath. - It neutralizes the build-up of acids that stuck to the teeth and tongue. It also changes the pH levels in your mouth that result in a less hostile environment for odor-causing bacteria. - It removes the stains and plaque on teeth which may cause bad breath. How to Quickly Get Rid of Bad Breath using Baking Soda. Baking soda can be used in many ways but the best of 5 methods has been listed here. Let’s go through it and follow them regularly to keep this bad breath at bay. Method 1: (Baking Soda Mouthwash). Here we are using baking soda mix as your mouthwash to clear the bacterial action inside the mouth and to freshen up the breath. Steps to be followed. Add 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 cup of water. Stir well till baking soda dissolved completely in water. Use this mix as your mouthwash and swish it around the mouth. Spit it out to get rid of bad breath. Regularly follow the same process whenever you experience the bad breath problem. Method 2: (Baking Soda Toothpowder). Here we are going to use baking soda as a toothpowder or toothpaste. Steps to be followed. Take some baking soda in a small bowl. Damp your toothbrush and dip it in this soda (as you do with tooth powder). Then start brushing your teeth with this powder. Rinse your mouth thoroughly and repeat the same regularly till you get rid of the problem. Note. Sprinkle a pinch of baking soda to your toothbrush and start brushing to solve the bad breath problem quickly and effectively. For best results, brush your teeth normally and rinse it well and then brush with baking soda. Thoroughly rinse your mouth with water and repeat regularly. Method 3: (Baking Soda with Lemon Juice). The citric acid content in lemon helps to restrict the growth of oral bacteria and it also has a strong refreshing citrus scent that refreshes your breath to prevent the nasty bad breath problem. So, this combination is very effective in treating halitosis. Steps to be followed. Take 2 teaspoons of baking soda and add freshly squeezed lemon juice from a lemon in it. Stir well and add 1/2 cup of water to it and mix well. Use this mix to gargle your mouth for a minute or two and spit it out. Repeat the same process for twice a day i.e. once in the morning and once at night time to get rid of bad breath. Note. Or dissolve 1 teaspoon of baking soda in 1 glass of warm water. Stir well and use this mix to gargle for several times a day. Alternatively, mix 1 teaspoon each of salt and baking soda in tepid water. Stir well and use this mix as a mouth rinse. Be sure to avoid swallowing. Or make a paste of salt and baking soda in a little of water and use this to rub the inside of the mouth to clear the bad breath causing bacteria. Or simply dissolve 1 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 cup of warm water. Stir well and use this as your mouthwash. Do gargle with this liquid for 30 seconds to 1 minute for best results. Method 4: (Baking Soda with Apple Cider Vinegar). Apple cider vinegar has antimicrobial properties that reduce the growth of microbes in the mouth and removes plaque causing bad breath. So, this combination helps to balance the pH levels in the mouth that in turn keeps the halitosis at bay. Steps to be followed. Mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda in enough of apple cider vinegar. Use this solution to rinse your mouth for a minute or two. Be sure to spit out the mix after thorough rinsing. For best results, continue doing rinse, spit and repeat the same regularly to get rid of the problem. Method 5: (Baking Soda Drink with Honey). Even drinking baking soda will help to clear bad breath. Honey has antimicrobial and soothing properties that clear the microbial infections. So, this combination is very effective in treating halitosis. Steps to be followed. Mix 1 teaspoon each of baking soda and honey in warm water. Stir well and drink this mix for at least once a day regularly for few days till you freshen up your breath.

Gargling with warm salt water is a time tested remedy for all your mouth and throat problems, and it always works and is easy to use on-the-go. HOW TO DO A SALT WATER GARGLE? Take 1 cup of water and warm it a bit. Add 1 teaspoon salt in it and let it dissolve. Use this water to gargle for 3-4 minutes. Repeat this until all the water is finished. Spit it out and do not swallow. HERE ARE THE AMAZING BENEFITS OF SALT WATER GARGLE: ✴ MAINTAINS THE NATURAL PH LEVEL Gargling with salt water maintains the natural pH of your throat and mouth. By doing this, you are maintaining the natural bacterial flora and inhibiting the invading unwanted bacteria from residing in your mouth and throat. This way you eradicate infections. Whether you have any infection or not, make salt water gargling a habit. ✴ CLEARS MUCUS Cough is always accompanied by mucus deposits in the nasal cavity and throat. This mucus is always expectorated when you cough or sneeze and is certainly not a good sight. Salt water gargle can dilute the mucus and make it flow out. This way it clears the throat and gives you relief from nasal congestion which is always followed by cough. ✴ CLEAN THE MOUTH When there were no mouthwashes, people relied on salt water gargles. Now that we have so many brands having their own line of mouthwashes, some people still use salt water for gargling- since it is effective and saves money too. Gargling with salt water can replace the role of mouthwash- it freshens breath, kills opportunistic bacteria in the mouth that are about to flourish and invade and also soothe inflammation and mouth sores. ✴ SORE THROAT Salt water is anti-inflammatory. It helps the inflamed throat get rid of inflammatory fluids through osmosis. This way, along with the fluid, the responsible bacteria too flows out. With regular usage of salt water for gargling, sore throat can be treated gradually. ✴ BLEEDING GUMS Bleeding gums is the first sign of gum disease. Salt is anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory in nature that helps get rid of the bleeding gums problem. Moreover, it draws infection out of any abscess which is the main breeding ground for bacteria. ✴ BAD BREATH Salt water is a great solution for getting rid of and preventing bad breath. It helps balance the levels of acid that contribute to bad breath. Oral bacteria are also the culprits that cause this annoying problem; salt water gargling two times a day can help you get rid of the responsible bacteria. ✴ ORAL INFECTION Oral infection is caused by opportunistic bacteria that grow when the immunity is suppressed or low due to any other reason. Oral infection caused by bacteria and inflammatory fluids can be treated with salt water gargling. It can inhibit the growth of infection causing bacteria thereby helping you get rid of oral infection. ✴ CANCER SORES Cancer sores can cause pain while eating and can always behave like a blind wound that gets bitten causing the sores to inflame and cause even more pain. Salt water gargles help with cancer sores reducing the painful swelling of the cells in the mucous membrane at the back of the throat. The warm water also produces a soothing sensation and sense of relief, while the salt may help keep the area clean and inhibit bacteria growth. .................................................. Does Mouthwash Get Rid of Bad Breath | Best Mouthwash Review

This video reviews the differences between some of the best mouthwashes on the market & informs the public about whether mouthwash gets rid of bad breath -------- My Hygiene Products (What I Use Everyday) --------- https://amzn.to/2sWNB5f - Glide Oral-B Pro-Health Deep Clean Floss, Mint, 6 Count https://amzn.to/2HNoXsq - Crest Pro-Health Multiprotection Rinse-Clean Mint-50.7 oz, 1.5liter https://amzn.to/2sVlcwx - Oral-B 1000 CrossAction Electric Toothbrush --------- American Dental Association Stance --------- https://bit.ly/2LQ0t49 - ADA Article --------- Script --------- What is up guys, Dr. Sami here & in this video Im gunna talk about the differences between some of the best mouthwashes on the market So today I’m going to be giving a lot of information about the different uses & ingredients within some of the most popular mouthwashes & there are ( emphatically) so many different products out there that it can be really confusing to figure out which one works best for you. I think the best way to break this down is to have a conversation about freshening your breathe, eliminating gum disease & preventing cavities. & later in the video, we will talk a little bit more about specialty mouthrinses & the differences between alcoholic & nonalcoholic mouthwashes. Lets start with breath. Alot of my friends use mouthwash because they crave that minty fresh breathe (Smirk) I can’t tell you how many times I see my friends pounding back shots of Listerine before going out & a lot of commercials out there give the illusion that simply using mouthwash can instantaneously cure this bad breathe. But thats simply not true. The ultimate source of bad breathe stems from odor emitting bacteria from the breakdown of food. & the easiest way to get rid of that to actively clean your teeth every single day. So then why should you use mouthwash! Well some mouthwashes help with gum disease. For instance, antibacterial mouthwashes have Ingredients like CPC (Cetylpyridinium Chloride) which can reduce gingival inflammation! I show listerine here as an example but there are so many different mouthwashes out there that have similar properties. Now, if your gum disease is severe then your dentist may want give you a prescription mouth rinse like chlorhexidine which has awesome antibacterial properties. Definitely take some time to ask your dentist which applies to you! What about mouthwashes that protect our teeth! Well that’s where fluoride washes come in. Fluoride is in essence is a mineral that can help reduce the formation of cavities. It is found in the majority of toothpastes & in fact our body naturally produces fluoride every single day. So it would make sense that mouthwashes with a high concentration of fluoride would help strengthen your teeth over time & remember the best time to use this type of mouthwash is in between brushing sessions like the afternoon or before you go out. It is meant to supplement the amount of fluoride you get everyday from brushing with toothpaste! One last thing needs to be said about alcoholic vs nonalcoholic mouthwashes (chugging alcohol). Alcoholic mouthwashes have a drying property so make sure to avoid it if you feel like you are susceptible to dry mouth. & there are some patients that are concerned about the link between alcohol and oral cancers. However, the ada states that current research has “failed to find an association between mouthwash use and oral cancer” --------- Media Accounts --------- https://www.instagram.com/sdsmilecouple/ https://northcountydentists.com/ --------- DISCLAIMER --------- This video contains affiliate links , which means that if you click on one of the product links, I'll receive a small commission. This helps support the channel and allows us to continue to make videos like this. Thanks for the support!

How To Use Hydrogen Peroxide for Mouthwash

03:31
How To Use Hydrogen Peroxide for Mouthwash Using hydrogen peroxide as mouthwash is simple: just swish 1% to 3% hydrogen peroxide around in your mouth, then spit it out Like you'd do with any kind of mouthwash Why 1% to 3%? Well Some people feel that 3% is a bit strong to use as a mouthwash. You can try 3%, or water it down with some water. (Some 3% hydrogen peroxide with an equal amount of water added will give you 1.5% hydrogen peroxide.) Using hydrogen peroxide as mouthwash will kill bacteria and viruses in your mouth. However, it takes time for hydrogen peroxide to work, so this is not going to remove all the bacteria and viruses in your mouth – it will just lessen them. Using hydrogen peroxide as mouthwash can taste a bit weird. Also, any time hydrogen peroxide is killing germs, it will foam -- so there can be some foaming when you are using hydrogen peroxide as a mouthwash. If you want to get at the bacteria in your gums, try it this way: brush your teeth, then floss between your teeth, and then swish with peroxide. This way any gunk is out of the way, and the peroxide can get in to the gums more easily. Swishing for a minute or longer will be more effective than a shorter swish. Another idea for getting peroxide in to your gums is Putting hydrogen peroxide into a Water Pik and then spraying the peroxide at your gums, as you usually would do with a Water Pik. Probably the best way of doing this is to spray a mixture of half water and half 3% peroxide. (The mixture will be 1.5% peroxide.) Three percent hydrogen peroxide will probably be too strong to spray into your gums. Just A word of warning Hydrogen peroxide can harm your gums if used too often, too long, or in too strong a solution. Here are some More ways to use peroxide for teeth, mouth, throat.... You can also try using hydrogen peroxide to brush your teeth - some people use a mixture of peroxide and baking soda. If that doesn’t appeal to you, you might like to soak your toothbrush in some 3% hydrogen peroxide. That will kill the bacteria and viruses in the bristles of your toothbrush, which will also, in a round-about way, make for fewer bacteria going into your mouth Gargling with hydrogen peroxide will get the hydrogen peroxide in contact with the back of your mouth and throat. The longer you gargle, the more time it has to kill germs. This won’t prevent all illnessness, but it’s a good idea to do this when colds and flus are around. Gargling with peroxide won’t kill all the germs in your throat, it will just lessen them. Peroxide takes time to work. But use some care, as peroxide can also be harmful if used to long or too often.

Information about Parodol® antibacterial toothpaste Parodol® toothpaste is made for prevention and relief of gum problems and periodontal disease, and is perfect if you want your oral hygiene to be as good as possible. Fights implant inflammation (peri-implantitis and peri-mucositis). Suitable for people who find it difficult to combat harmful oral bacteria, with bad breath or bleeding gums as a result. But even for people without such problems, Parodol® acts as a preventive and gives you a refreshingly clean mouth. Parodol® toothpaste is based on 4 plant oils: Menthol and thymol fights harmful bacteria in the entire oral cavity and restores the natural balance of bacteria. This fights bad breath. Eucalyptus and methyl salicylate (from oil of wintergreen) act as an anti-inflammatory and provide relief for sensitive teeth and reduces blisters and fungal spores. Parodol® is intentionally produced without the soap sodium lauryl sulfate, as this substance can destroy the protective sheath against bacteria and viruses formed by saliva. Therefore Parodol® does not form a lather. Naturally Parodol® has fluoride to fight tooth decay. Parodol® was developed by dentists and bioanalysts specialising in periodontal disease treatment Parodol® got a top placement in the Danish Ministry of the Environment’s (now Forbrugerkemi’s) toothpaste reviews of 56 different tested toothpaste brands in 2008. Dentist, DD Else Østergaard described these components that fight bacterial enzymes and degrade bacterial cell walls in her Ph.D. dissertation from 1996. The resistance tests of Parodol® against plaque were done through Statens Serum Institut and Gigthospitalet (Kong Christian X's Rheumatism Hospital). These confirmed the reduction of plaque bacteria and fungal spores. You can buy Parodol® from Danish pharmacies or pharmacy wholesalers. 5 Effective Home Remedies for Gum Disease

03:48
Gum disease, also known as gingivitis, is a common condition characterized by symptoms like persistent bad breath, red or swollen gums, bleeding gums, receding gums and loose teeth. If not treated, it can advance to periodontitis and lead to further complications. The primary cause of gum disease is poor oral hygiene, resulting in plaque buildup along and under the gum line. Plaque builds up when bacteria attach to the tooth and gum margins. Factors like smoking, hormonal changes, genetic predisposition, poor nutrition, stress, certain medications, diabetes and other illnesses also contribute to the problem. Here are a few effective home remedies that can be used to alleviate symptoms, treat gum disease and prevent further complications. 1. Hydrogen Peroxide Hydrogen peroxide works as a strong antibacterial agent that kills germs and fights gum disease. Plus, it helps whiten and brighten your pearly whites. Make sure you use the 3 percent hydrogen peroxide solution that typically comes in brown bottles, rather than the highly concentrated version. Mix equal parts of hydrogen peroxide and water. Rinse your mouth with the solution for a few seconds, and then spit it out. Use it a few times a week until you are satisfied with the results. Do not use hydrogen peroxide too often; once a day is sufficient. 2. Aloe Vera Due to its anti-inflammatory and healing properties, aloe vera has been found to be beneficial in dealing with gum disease. Being an antimicrobial, it also kills the bacteria that cause gum disease. Massage your gums with fresh aloe vera gel, leave it on for at least half an hour and then rinse it off. Repeat several times a day. Alternatively, swish some aloe vera juice around in your mouth a few times. 3. Oil Pulling Oil pulling is a traditional Ayurvedic technique that is excellent for oral care. It helps strengthen the teeth and gums, reduces plaque, and relieves bad breath. Swish one tablespoon of coconut oil around in your mouth and through your teeth. Do this for about 15 minutes or until it becomes thinner and turns milky. Do not gargle or swallow the oil. Spit it out and rinse your mouth with water. Repeat the process daily for about a month. 4. Tea Tree Oil The anti-inflammatory properties of tea tree oil help soothe irritated and inflamed gums. Simply put a few drops of tea tree oil on your toothpaste or buy toothpaste with tea tree oil in it for brushing your teeth two times a day. Do not swallow the oil. 5. Coconut Oil The antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties of coconut oil help in the natural treatment of gum disease. Combining it with baking soda will help neutralize the acids in your mouth, too. Mix two tablespoons each of coconut oil and baking soda. Use this in place of your toothpaste once or twice a week on a regular basis. In addition to these remedies, make sure to maintain adequate oral hygiene, including daily brushing, flossing and using a mouth rinse to reduce plaque buildup on your teeth. Plus, get regular dental check-ups. What’s the Best Mouthwash?

05:52
There’s a cheap concoction one can make at home that safely wipes out cavity-forming bacteria on our teeth better than chlorhexidine mouthwash and also reduces their plaque-forming ability. Subscribe to Dr. Greger’s free nutrition newsletter at https://www.nutritionfacts.org/subscribe and get a free recipe from his new HOW NOT TO DIE COOKBOOK. (All proceeds Dr. Greger receives from the sales of his books, DVDs, and speaking engagements go to support the 501c3 nonprofit that runs NutritionFacts.org.) I now just keep a mason jar filled with cold-steeped green tea (Cold Steeping Green Tea http://nutritionfacts.org/video/cold-steeping-green-tea/) with a spoonful of amla in the fridge and swish and swallow any time I’m rummaging around in there. For extra credit you can gargle a bit with it too (see my video Can Gargling Prevent the Common Cold? http://nutritionfacts.org/video/can-gargling-prevent-the-common-cold/). Green tea shouldn’t be the primary beverage of children, though, as the natural fluoride content may cause cosmetic spots on the teeth. For more check out my video Childhood Tea Drinking May Increase Fluorosis Risk (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/childhood-tea-drinking-may-increase-fluorosis-risk/). Here’s the links to the two oral health videos I refer to in the video: Plant-Based Diets: Oral Health (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/plant-based-diets-oral-health/) and Plant-Based Diets: Dental Health (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/plant-based-diets-dental-health/). Another reason we may want to avoid antibacterial mouthwashes is that they can kill off the good bacteria on our tongue instrumental in enhancing athletic performance with nitrate-containing vegetables. See my video Don’t Use Antiseptic Mouthwash (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/dont-use-antiseptic-mouthwash). Green tea doesn’t just kill off harmful bacteria, but harmful viruses as well. Check out Treating Genital Warts with Green Tea (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/treating-genital-warts-with-green-tea/). Need a reminder what amla is? How To Treat Tooth Decay & Reverse Cavities Using This One Miracle Ingredient (Clinically Proven)!

03:06
How To Treat Tooth Decay & Reverse Cavities Using This One Miracle Ingredient without going to the dentist. In this video, I wanted to share one amazing ingredient that not only prevents but reverses tooth decay as well. The ingredient is called "Haritaki" in Hindi and "Kadukkai" in Tamil. Its botanical name is Terminalia Chebula. Haritaki has been used from ancient times to treat and prevent tooth decay. Now even modern science has proved it to be true. I will leave the link that proves the anti cariogenic effects of haritaki in the description box below. Normally we use haritaki in two ways - one is in the form of mouth rinse and another is a tooth powder. Both works well in preventing and treating tooth decay. For the mouth rinse, take one haritaki in a mortar and pestle. Now pound to break it into small pieces. Pounding haritaki helps it release it's essence into the water faster. But you have to pound hard to break haritaki. You don't have to pound it finely, just make sure it breaks. Now take the pounded haritaki in a pot. Add in a cup of water to it. Now boil this mixture in low to medium flame. After few minutes of boiling you'll find that the color of the water changes to light yellow in color. Now boil till the water reduces in half. Haritaki is an amazing astringent and has wonderful antimicrobial properties making it one of the best ingredients to use for dental care. Once the water has reduced in half switch off, let cool completely and strain. Your wonderful homemade mouthwash is ready! This mouth wash is three times more effective than any mouthwash sold in the markets. To use, gargle your mouth with this mouth wash every day. This mouth wash is slightly bitter but works really well in preventing and treating tooth decay. You can store the leftover mouthwash in the refrigerator and use for about a week. To make the tooth powder, take a tablespoon of haritaki powder in a bowl. Add in quarter teaspoon of Himalayan pink salt to it. Mix well and store it in an airtight bottle. This homemade tooth powder will store well for about three months, if kept away from moisture. If used as a tooth powder weekly twice, I can guarantee that it will completely prevent tooth decay and treat it as well. Since haritaki is very famous in India, many departmental stores stock both haritaki and haritaki powder. You can also order them through online shops like Amazon..... ============================== Hi Friends, My name is Ramya. Use natural mouthwashes and breath fresheners. • Mint leaves help fight bad breath and freshen up your mouth. • Spices like cloves, cardamom, and fennel seeds are excellent at fighting mouth odor. • Baking soda is another natural mouthwash that is readily available. Simply dissolve a teaspoon of baking soda in a cup of water and use it to rinse your mouth. Alternatively, you can also dip your wet toothbrush into baking soda and use it to clean your teeth. • Tea made with fenugreek leaves is a great antibacterial mouth freshener. Start your day by drinking a cup of it. 6. Drink at least 2 liters of water daily. Keeping yourself hydrated has many health benefits and avoiding bad breath is just one of them. Saliva prevents bacterial growth and water is needed to keep the salivary glands working efficiently. Drinking water is paramount when it comes to preventing bacterial growth and bad breath caused by inadequate moisture and saliva in the mouth. Avoid sugary juices at night as they can aid bacterial buildup during the night. 5. Watch what you eat! Some foods are known to cause bad breath so it’s best to avoid them if you want your mouth to smell minty fresh. Onions and garlic are the most common culprits when it comes to causing bad breath. But also remember to not completely do away with onions as research shows that eating onions in moderation killed 4 different strains of bacteria that can cause tooth decay and gum disease. Also, avoid foods that are high in fructose or acidic acid as they encourage bacterial growth. If you are hungry, try eating apples or some yogurt. Apples contain hetero polysaccharide pectin which is known to stimulate saliva production, while the active cultures in yogurt help reduce bacteria in the mouth. 4. Scrape your tongue. Your tongue can be a breeding ground for smelly bacteria. After you brush your teeth, use your toothbrush to scrape your tongue of any bacteria, byproducts from the bacteria, or plaque. You can also use a tongue scraper for this. 3. Brush twice a day and floss once. Brush your teeth for 2 minutes, twice a day, and floss at least once. A study showed that only a little over 55% of women brushed twice a day and the percentage of men doing so is even lower at just 49%. Brushing and flossing help remove trapped food and odor-causing bacteria from the mouth. 2. Keep your gums healthy. Bacteria gathers in pockets at the base of the teeth creating an odor. Gum diseases are known to cause bad breath. To keep your gums healthy, choose a toothpaste that contains fluoride. Also, quit smoking since smoking weakens your immune system and is strongly associated with the onset of gum-related problems. Also, smoking makes it more difficult for your gums to heal once they’ve been damaged. 1. Chew a fruit peel. Rinse off the peel of a citrus fruit like a lemon or orange before popping it into your mouth to chew. It will not only give your breath a burst of freshness but the citric acid in it will also encourage the salivary glands to produce more saliva which is the mouth’s natural defense against bad breath and tooth decay-causing plaque acids. Now that you know these amazing ways to keep bad breath at bay, spread the video among your friends. Do you know some other ways too? Let us know in the comments below. Commercial Mouthwash And Cancer

00:46
http://tropicanadental.com/prevent-tooth-decay-homemade-mouthwash/ A big study showed that using popular brand commercial mouthwash can lead to cancer. The dental products companies advertise heavily to get consumers to use mouthwash regularly to prevent tooth decay and stop bad breath. Unfortunately for these Big Consumer companies, science has caught with them and exposed the link between the alcohol in these mouthwash products and cancer of the head and neck. The reason for the surge in cancer with mouthwash congaing alcohol is related to their high alcohol content and long exposure to the mouth. The alcohol breaks down into a dangerous compound. It's advised that you use alcohol based mouthwash infrequently to better yet use a homemade mouthwash. Want the recipe for the mouthwash? Preventing an Ear Piercing Infection | Ear Problems

02:04
Watch more How to Deal with Ear Problems videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/508261-Preventing-an-Ear-Piercing-Infection-Ear-Problems Body piercing in general has become very fashionable these days, and a significant amount of that piercing occurs on the outer ear. Typically, and classically, ears were pierced down here, and this lower part of your earlobe is fat. The upper part has cartilage in it. If you get an infection in your earlobe where there's fat, you take the piercing out, you put hot compresses on it, and it will almost always resolve. This is a fairly resistant area to severe infection. When you pierce through cartilage, however, the possibility of severe infection goes up, and if it occurs, it requires much more aggressive therapy, often with oral or intravenous antibiotics. So, the first thing is, when you have your ears pierced you want to be sure that whoever's doing the piercing cleans your ear thoroughly with an antiseptic, such as alcohol or iodine solution, before they do the piercing. You want to be sure that the earring that's put in through the piercing is a high quality metal which lowers the likelihood of infection. If there is any redness, or crusting, or drainage around the piercing it means that there's an infection. And the first step is to just soak the area well, keep it clean, buy some over the counter antibiotic ointment such as Bacitracin, and put it around two or three times a day. That will generally resolve the problem. However, if it doesn't, it may be necessary to take the piercing out and be more aggressive with your therapy. Unfortunately, when such an infection occurs and you have to take the piercing out, the likelihood is that the hole will scar over, and you'll have to start over at step one after the infection is resolved.

Proper dental care includes floss, mouthwash and brushing and we all know it. But, what many do not know is the fact that coconut oil can provide incredible effects for your dental health! ” Oil pusher “ is the procedure of rinsing the mouth with one tablespoon of oil out and this eliminates harmful bacteria that rot your teeth and cause bad breath. It was originally used 3,000 years ago, as a part of the Ayurveda medicine. Now, its popularity is growing again. Moreover, apart from eliminating harmful bacteria, coconut oil can also whiten your teeth. The homemade toothpaste based on coconut oil has a great number of benefits, due to the antimicrobial power of coconut oil, including preventing tooth decay naturally, eliminating bad breath and reducing the risk of tooth decay and gingivitis. However, there is a coconut oil that is sold for “cosmetic use”, which means, basically, that it has been lowered with a chemical product and therefore is not suitable for consumption. Hence, it would be best to use only virgin coconut oil. The Coconut oil brand has a wide variety, is certified and sold at a very reasonable price.......... How to Treat a Sore Throat Naturally

03:40
For more info: https://draxe.com/sore-throat-remedies-fast-relief/?utm_campaign=Youtube-Jan-2015&utm_medium=social&utm_source=youtube&utm_term=sorethroat In this video I’m going to share with you my top natural remedies to get rid of a sore throat. There are four main items that can help you kick a sore throat very fast. The first product that can help ease your throat is olive leaf extract, which can kill off any bad bacteria and fungus in your body as well as function as an anti-viral. Secondly, colloidal silver is great for a sore throat because it has powerful anti-bacterial and anti-viral activity in it. My favorite way to use colloidal silver is through a throat spray. I would recommend using it every 30 minutes if needed. Sea salt is the third ingredient I would recommend because it has natural soothing effects to the throat when consumed, which naturally treats a sore throat. Start with mixing sea salt and water and gargling this mixture three times a day. Lastly, using essential oils like lemon, oregano, and peppermint will help your sore throat. These three oils are the most effective oils for treating a sore throat. You could also add these oils to your throat spray to make it even more powerful. In addition to these four natural remedies, getting plenty of rest and consuming a nutritional diet are important. Sleeping 8 + hours is vital to helping your immune system fight your virus and consuming a lot of fruits and vegetables, bone broth, and avoiding sugars and grains will help you overcome your sore throat fast. *This content is strictly the opinion of Dr. Josh Axe, and is for informational and educational purposes only. Micrin Mouthwash Commercial circa 1965 Johnson & Johnson

Classic TV Commercials playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_hX5wLdhf_I3wE8to5xHS4P6v_2baOU3 more at http://kitchen.quickfound.net "If you want to feel safe, use Micrin... Let's say these 'Gs' are the germs..." Public domain film from the Library of Congress Prelinger Archives, slightly cropped to remove uneven edges, with the aspect ratio corrected, and one-pass brightness-contrast-color correction & mild video noise reduction applied. The soundtrack was also processed with volume normalization, noise reduction, clipping reduction, and/or equalization (the resulting sound, though not perfect, is far less noisy than the original). http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mouthwash For other uses, see Mouthwash (disambiguation). Mouthwash, mouth rinse, oral rinse or mouth bath, is a liquid which is held in the mouth passively or swilled around the mouth by contraction of the perioral muscles and/or movement of the head, and may be gargled, where the head is tilted back and the liquid bubbled at the back of the mouth. Usually mouthwashes are an antiseptic solution intended to reduce the microbial load in the oral cavity, although other mouthwashes might be given for other reasons such as for their analgesic, anti-inflammatory or anti-fungal action. Additionally, some rinses act as saliva substitutes to neutralize acid and keep the mouth moist in xerostomia (dry mouth). Cosmetic mouthrinses temporarily control or reduce bad breath and leave the mouth with a pleasant taste... Use Common use involves rinsing the mouth with about 20 ml (2/3 fl oz) of mouthwash. The wash is typically swished or gargled for about half a minute and then spit out. Most companies suggest not drinking water immediately after using mouthwash. In some brands, the expectorate is stained, so that one can see the bacteria and debris. Mouthwash should not be used immediately after brushing the teeth so as not to wash away the beneficial fluoride residue left from the toothpaste. Similarly, the mouth should not be rinsed out with water after brushing. Patients were told to "spit don't rinse" after toothbrushing as part of an National Health Service campaign in the UK. Gargling is where the head is tilted back, allowing the mouthwash to sit in the back of the mouth while exhaling, causing the liquid to bubble. Gargling is practiced in Japan for perceived prevention of viral infection. One commonly used way is with infusions or tea. In some cultures, gargling is usually done in private, typically in a bathroom at a sink so the liquid can be rinsed away. Benefits The most common use of mouthwash is commercial antiseptics, which are used at home as part of an oral hygiene routine. Some manufacturers of mouthwash state that antiseptic and anti-plaque mouth rinse kill the bacterial plaque that causes cavities, gingivitis, and bad breath. Anti-cavity mouth rinse uses fluoride to protect against tooth decay. It is, however, generally agreed that the use of mouthwash does not eliminate the need for both brushing and flossing. The American Dental Association asserts that regular brushing and proper flossing are enough in most cases, although they approve many mouthwashes that do not contain ethanol (in addition to regular dental check-ups). For many patients, however, the mechanical methods could be tedious and time-consuming and additionally some local conditions may render them especially difficult. Chemotherapeutic agents, including mouthrinses, could have a key role as adjuncts to daily home care, preventing and controlling supragingival plaque, gingivitis and oral malodor. Another common use of mouthwash is prior to and after oral surgery procedures such as tooth extraction...

Natural Remedies For Gum Disease That Your Dentist Doesn’t Tell You About

05:40
Natural Remedies For Gum Disease That Your Dentist Doesn’t Tell You About Gum disease is one of the most dangerous oral health problems, except cancer. Unfortunately, it is quite common these days, with more than half of all Americans over the age of 30 who have had it at certain point. In addition to an increased risk of tooth loss, gum disease has been also associated with some quite serious health conditions, including heart disease. What Is Gum Disease? Often referred to as gingivitis, gum disease is nothing but an inflammation of the soft tissue surrounding the teeth. It is typically caused by poor oral hygiene, and the most common symptoms include redness in the gum tissue, bleeding, and swollen gums. If neglected, gum disease can soon turn into periodontitis, a more severe form of gum disease which affects the bone underneath the teeth and causes loss of bone and gum tissue in the jaw. In case you notice any bleeding when you are brushing the teeth, consult your dentist right away. What Causes Gum Disease? As already discusses, poor oral hygiene is the most common cause of gum disease, leading to plaque buildup on the gums and teeth. This substance promotes growth of detrimental bacteria and is likely to harden the tartar if it is not remove by flossing and brushing. Accumulation of tartar and plaque can lead to bacterial infection in the gums, causing gingivitis. Common Factors Of Gum Disease Poor nutrition Hormonal changes Diabetes Certain medications Dry mouth Stress-related immune disorders Tooth alignment/crowding issues Smoking Alcohol abuse Natural Remedies For Gum Disease Here are the top 6 natural solutions for gum disease. Check them out: 1. Oil Pulling Take 100% organic oil, preferably coconut, sesame, or olive oil, and swirl it around the mouth for a few minutes. This technique removes toxic matter, plaque buildup, and inflammation from the gums and teeth. 2. Aloe Vera Aloe Vera is a potent anti-inflammatory agent which works wonders for inflamed, red and swollen gums. For optimal results and maximum benefit, use it directly from the plant. 3. Sage Decoction To make your own anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial mouthwash, boil 50 fresh sage leaves in distilled water. The same solution can be consumed as tea. 4. Mustard Oil Mustard oil is a potent anti-microbial and anti-bacterial, which makes it an effective preventive measure against gum disease. Not only destroys bacteria and heals gums, but it relieves pain, too. 5. Fruits and Veggies Snacking on fresh and crunchy fruits and veggies is a good way to maintain proper oral hygiene. They clean the teeth, prevent plaque from accumulating, and promote overall oral health. 6. Need Products Need is an effective antifungal and antimicrobial solution for gum disease. It can be used as gel, toothpaste, or mouthwash. Dental Treatment For Gum Disease On the other hand, conventional dental treatments for gingivitis include: 1. Scaling This treatment is used to remove tartar accumulated around the gum line 2. Root Planning It helps remove infect parts of the tissue and smooth rough spots. 3. Professional Teeth Cleaning As the name itself suggest, it cleans the teeth by removing tartar and plaque buildup. 4. Laser Treatment Laser treatment is used as milder alternative to planning and scaling, as it causes less bleeding and pain. 5. Surgical Treatment In severe cases, surgical treatment is needed. It can be either flap surgery or a bone and tissue graft used to replace damaged sections. https://youtu.be/pCps0euwkEo

HOW TO REMOVE CAVITY FROM TEETH AT HOME? WATCH this video to learn home remedies for tooth cavities. Home remedies work well in teeth cavities treatment. A tooth is made up of outer coating called enamel and inner layer called dentin. Damage to the tooth causes tooth cavities. Both the layers of a tooth can get affected by tooth decay. Why does my mouth get dry when I sleep?

01:29
Do you get dry mouth at night? Dr Katz, creator of the TheraBreath oral care formulas, fills you in on why it happens and what you can do about it. -- When you sleep at night, your brain knows you will not be eating at the same time. So in order to conserve energy, your brain shuts down saliva production. That's a problem when it comes to dry mouth, as well as fresh breath, because saliva is nature's way of keeping your breath fresh. Saliva has oxygen compounds in it. Oxygen is the natural enemy of the anaerobic bacteria. So for the seven or eight hours that you're sleeping, you actually have no natural protection against bad breath. So you wake up in the morning, and out comes the dragon. We actually did a research study several years ago here in our clinic in Los Angeles. And we had about 100 people show up in their pajamas and nightgowns. And we had them use the TheraBreath formulas (http://www.therabreath.com/mouthwash/). And we used a machine called a halimeter which measures bad breath. And the reason we had them use the TheraBreath formulas is they contain oxygen compounds. Oxygen compounds do a couple of things. Number one is they stimulate saliva, so it makes the mouth very moist, which is important. And the oxygen compounds are also antibacterial. And sure enough, 12 and a half hours later, we tested the people's breath and their saliva levels, and they all had fresh breath, they were kissable, and whatever-able, 12 and a half hours later. And that's one way to make sure your mouth is very moist when you wake up in the morning, and kissable. More information about dry mouth: http://www.therabreath.com/dry-mouth-at-night.html
