New Website Under Construction - JackCreekRoad.com We needed a simple board rack to hold 4 boards, so we came up with this. It's not fancy at all, but it gets the job done! We started with two, 8ft long furring strips. We spent a good amount of time finding the two straightest strips we could fine at our local home center. Then using the miter saw, we cut 8 pieces (8.25 inches long) with a 37 degree angle on both ends (This was just to pitch the boards up so you can see the graphics when the boards were on the rack.) I then cut two, 10 inch pieces which would become the horizontal supports. These were cut specifically to go around our electrical panel door, but not too wide because they would run into the trucks on the smaller boards. The last cuts were two pieces which would become the vertical supports and finally one more additional horizontal piece to push the rack slightly off the wall. To assemble, I used CA glue and activator in order to hold the holders to the vertical support pieces until I was able to come back and drive in drywall screws. If I had an air compressor and a brad nailer I would have used those and wood glue instead of CA glue. Materials: *(2) 1inX2inchX8ft furring strips *CA Glue and Activator *Drywall Screws *Wood Glue Thanks for watching! Moving right along with part two of Paul’s DIY skate workshop with DIY skateboard organization. Since this isn’t displaying in our home, I didn’t get super crazy with a stain or finish. He just going to load and unload them which will dink up the wood. Feel free to finish them to match your space but since most of the wood is unfinished in my DIY garage makeover anyway - it fit right in! I hope you like this DIY skateboard rack idea. Stay rad xx. This week we take a look at how people in the community display and store their boards. We also take a crack at building our own DYI electric skateboard rack. For our rack we are using a pretty basic setup with items you can easily get from your local hardware store. Our rack features a single shelf and a bunch of accessory hooks for items like your helmet, remote and pads. In this video we are using the Rack-it-up skateboard hook to store the skateboard vertically. You can buy it here: https://www.evolveskateboards.com.au/products/vertical-rack You can take this design and build on it - add more shelves, different storage options - the possibilities are endless! IMPORTANT: It is important that you take ALL safety precautions in building and setting up your rack. Make sure it's completely stable and that it can't be tipped over. This may mean fastening it to the wall / floor. How you do this will depend on your surroundings. If you are not sure how to do this, seek assistance from a professional before setting it up. SAFETY FIRST Remember to be fully aware of your surroundings and ensure safety comes first. Always use safety gear. Plenty more skateboard DIY’s headed your way and the ones I've already done are linked throughout the video! Happy Wednesday babes xx. Here is everything you’ll need! Linked as much as I can and no this post is not sponsored. This is what you need for ONE skateboard shelf! You can get these at your local hardware store for MUCH cheaper but I’ve also linked some below if you want to buy it online - you normally have to buy in bulk so it will be more pricey. 2 corner braces - http://www.osh.com/Osh-Categories/Tools-%26-Hardware/Hardware/More-Hardware/Builders-Hardware/Hinges-Straps-Mending-Plates/Stanley-National-Hardware-115-Corner-Brace%2C-4-Inch-x-7-8-Inch%2C-Galvanized-Steel/p/6642532 2 screws per brace (for one shelf, that’s 4 of these screws - do the math and buy as many as you need) - http://www.albanycountyfasteners.com/Phillips-Flat-Head-Sheet-Metal-Screw-Stainless-12-p/3380000.htm?1=1&CartID=0 2 flat head machine screws with hex nuts - I could not find a specific link but the size I used was 8x32x1 from Orchard Hardware. I definitely would've gotten shorter ones if they had it so I didn't have to do the extra step of cutting the excess off. I was tired of them all over the floor so I designed a hanger that attached to the wall, held a helmet, and showed off the underside graphics. This design started off with a set of requirements: 1. Get the boards off the floor; 2. Each board had to have an accompanied helmet; 3. I don't want to stare at grip tape, I want to see the graphics. I decided on using steel square stock for the construction of my unique "hook" design. It is strong enough to hold the weight while needing minimal support braces. I really like the minimalistic look of the hanger because it allowed me to showcase the board and the helmet instead of a bulky rack. I cut the square tubing into pieces with 30 degree angles and welded them up. I learned half-way through the initial welds that I was running out of gas, causing my welds to be extra ugly. After a trip to the metal supply shop and A LOT of grinding, I had my hook shape. I took an extra angled bar and welded it on top of the hanger to hold the helmet. I used a piece of 1/8 inch flat steel to attach the hanger to the wall. I drilled the mounting holes in the flat stock and welded the assembly all together. After a few coats of primer and my favorite color of paint, it was ready to go. I attached the hanger to the wall with lag bolts; first, because they are strong when drilled into studs, and second, because there wasn't much clearance for a drill to properly drive in screws but a low-profile ratchet wrench worked just fine. I hung up my wife's longboard along with her helmet and this project was done. If you enjoyed this metalworking project or want to see how I solved some other household problems, check out the metalworking playlist above!

How to hang up skateboards without putting holes in your walls. In this video I show you how I hung up my boards. This is a quick and easy way to do it. The command strips work great, make sure you get the 5 pound strip to put on the back of the hooks. Will work best on a smooth wall. Check the strips from time to time, if they look loose I would swap out the strips for new ones. Hope you enjoyed this upload stay tuned for more videos uploaded every other day! Thanks for watching! Nice little project for a penny board, skateboard or even a long board. I love that you can move it round the house and its not to big, and looks pretty cool too. The stand could easily be adapted to suit a skateboard or long board just adjust the hook size for the wheels to drop into. Made out of birch plywood. Skateboard hook how to make Its a Rubbish Challenge http://www.pricklysauce.com Make your own funky skateboard hook from an old timber skateboard deck. I was out early one morning skateboarding with my dog when I came across half a broken deck...just left for me to find! Picking it up I it occurred to me that it would make a great skateboard hook just like the cool bent birch hangUp skates that I make sell through pricklysauce.com. With a few tools the deck can be made to hang up your skateboard. Download the PDF template from my Instructables page for this project and print out at 100%.http://www.instructables.com/id/Skateboard-Hook/ I laid it on the deck, centralised the truck holes and used some white spray paint to mark around the shape as the black deck tape is hard to mark otherwise. Chalk would work well as well, though not so cool. Cut the shape out with a bandsaw, jigsaw, fret or copping saw. Beware that the deck tape is an abrasive and will blunt your blade, use an old one. Sand all edges with what ever sanding disk/belt that you have and lightly sand the arriss's by hand, the deck tape actually works well as abrasive paper. Cut out a spacer block from the scrap of deck so that the screws for the truck fixing holes will fit into it. Remove any deck tape and sand flat to get rid of the undulations of the ply skate shape. This needs to sit nicely flat against the wall. Drill two holes centrally one above the other. Pre-drill the truck fixing holes to the spacer, if your screws are a little long snip off flush to the back of the spacer. Fix the spacer to the wall and fix the hook to the spacer. Please make sure that the hook is securely fixed to a solid wall or the stud of a partion wall, a plasterboard fixing will not be strong enough. Make sure there are no electrical, water or gas pipes or any other cabling behind the hook that may be damaged. Be safe. Hang up your skateboard...hat...coat...or just leave as is and enjoy. If you don't fancy making one and you would like me to make and send you a funky birch ply hangUp skate, scooter or mini then visit my website pricklysauce.com. 'Its a Rubbish Challenge' is a challenge that I set myself to give the things that we throw away a new life, to make them useful or adapt them to save buying in new 'stuff'. Bring Your Board. How the Longboard/Skateboard Rack was created and and how we plan to have it manufactured.
Просмотров: 647 Bring Your Board
For those who travel around town by bicycle, they know riding with a surfboard under the arm can be cumbersome and awkward. In this episode of Surf Sufficient, our friend Travis Newhouse helps make that bike commute to the beach much sweeter. By adding a surfboard rack to your rig, your shred sled can be stowed comfortably as you head out for a stoke. These instructions are a guideline. Each bike and surfboard are different. Be sure to measure your own bike and surfboard, and dry-fit the pieces before you glue them together. We want you to have a safe ride to the beach - make sure the rack will not inhibit your movement on the bike, and that your front tire can turn freely without contacting the surfboard. Materials: 4 - 1" PVC T-joint 6 - 1" PVC 90 degree elbow 4 - 1.75" diameter hose clamps 10' PVC pipe (Schedule 40) 6' foam pipe insulation for 1" pipe PVC cement bungee cords Tools: hacksaw sandpaper or file measuring tape flathead screwdriver Instructions: 1. Measure the diameter the bike's seat tube and down tube. 2. Transfer measurement to the opening at the top of the T-joint, and cut off the top of the T-joint. 3. Place one T-joint on the bike near enough to the pedal to measure the distance to the outside of the pedal. Include enough clearance for your foot, but shorter distance will result in a stronger rack. On this bike, the distance was 8.5 inches. 4. Attach T-joints to bike with hose clamps. For now, tighten only enough to remain in position. 5. Cut 2 pieces of PVC pipe to the length measured in Step 3. Clean up the ends of the cuts with sandpaper or a file. Insert PVC pipe pieces into T-joints. 6. Install two 90* elbows onto PVC pipes, with opening facing the ground. 7. Cut two 3" pieces of PVC pipe, and insert into 90* elbow. 8. Install T-joints onto short pieces such that the openings are facing each other. 9. Determine the length of the crossbeam by measuring distance between the T-joints. Be sure to include 1" at each end for the portion of the pipe that fits into the joint. Cut PVC pipe to length for the crossbeam, and insert the crossbeam into the T-joints. 10. Cut two 11" pieces of PVC pipe, and insert into the ends of the T-joints that face the ground. The suggested length is to fit most surfboards and bikes. Make sure the rack will not extend too close to the ground. 11. Install 90* elbow at the bottom of the pipe, with its opening facing away from the bike. 12. Measure the thickness of your surfboard. Be sure to consider the bulk of a travel bag, if you use one. Add approximately 1/2" for the thickness of the foam padding. Cut two pieces of PVC pipe to length, and insert into the opening of the 90* elbow. 13. Install 90* elbows on the ends of each short piece, with opening facing up. 14. Cut two 12" pieces of PVC pipe, and insert into the 90* elbows. The length of this piece should be less than the width of the board when mounted in the rack. This will ensure the bungee cord can hold the board in the rack. 15. With all the pieces dry-fit, check the fit of your board in the rack. 16. Before disassembling, mark the alignment of pipes and joints that extend out from the bike. Draw a line on the pipes and the T-joints attached to the bike, and also at the top 90 degree elbows. 17. Glue the pipes to the T-joints attached to the bike. Be sure to align the marks made in Step 16. 18. Glue the 90 degree elbows to the pipes extending from the bike. Be sure to align the marks made in Step 16. 19. On a flat surface, glue remaining two T-joints to the crossbeam. Use the flat surface to ensure the T-joint are aligned in the same plane. Also, glue the two 3" pieces into the T-joints. 20. Glue the crossbeam into 90* elbows. 21. Glue the 11" pieces of PVC pipe into the bottom of the T-joints. 22. Continue to glue pieces: 90* elbow followed by short piece of pipe, then another 90* elbow, and finally the 12" vertical piece. 23. Attach the foam insulation to the rack. 24. Drill holes for the bungee cords. Ensure that the holes are low enough to avoid metal hooks contacting the surfboard. 25. Enjoy your ride to the beach!

Hello everyone, as you may know I don't normally do these types of videos. (especially a video on a moped) But recently I blew my gearbox in my car so I have been reduced to riding a moped around as my main source of transportation. So I decided to make this video just because it seems like quite an easy quick mod to do that will save you a lot of money from not having to buy genuine board racks. This will only cost around $30 and you should be able to easily mount them on your scooter/moped in about 10mins. (Should fit most surfboards) If you liked this video please tell me in the comments and please like, share and subscribe!

Buy: http://www.storeyourboard.com/skateboard-storage-rack/ Got a lot of skateboards? Here's a super affordable, easy to setup and use skateboard rack for (at least) 3 skateboards. There's 3 rack levels, 1 for each skateboard. You can also load this rack up with your skateboard gear - helmets, gloves, backpacks, whatever. The rack works great in your garage as a functional storage option or in your home - bedroom, man cave, living room - to show off your skateboards' deck art. Put your skateboards to use by decorating your house with something you actually like. The rack fits complete skateboards, decks, longboard skateboard, penny boards, and more. Check it out at StoreYourBoard.com!
