This video demonstrates the recommended procedures for collecting soil samples for basic, field-average fertility analyses from farm fields in Wisconsin. It also discusses procedures for submitting the samples to a state-certified soil testing laboratory. Research-based soil nutrient application recommendations from the University of Wisconsin Extension are based on soil test results. The information provided is useful for managing soil fertility for field crop and processing vegetable production and is consistent with the requirements for nutrient management planning programs in Wisconsin. Measurements of trace chemicals in environmental media (water, air, soils, biota) frequently result in values reported only as less than the laboratory’s reporting limit (“less-thans”, “nondetects”, and “qualified values”). In statistical jargon these are "censored data". This webinar will provide an overview of methods for analysis of censored data, from estimating summary statistics to regression and hypothesis tests, including methods that incorporate data censored at multiple limits. Material is drawn from the textbook Statistics for censored environmental data using Minitab and R by Helsel, 2012. What you will learn: • the consequences of substituting one-half the reporting limit on data analysis (spoiler alert: its not good). • what software is available for analysis of censored data. • what nonparametric methods are available for estimating summary statistics, test for differences between groups, and for correlation/regression of censored data. • what parametric methods are available for estimating summary statistics, test for differences between groups, and for correlation/regression of censored data.

Fisher Environmental - Monitoring Wells The Phase 2 Site Assessment process requires that both the soil on the property and the ground water that flows under the property be tested for contamination. As we saw in Fisher's video on soil testing, ground water wells are installed at the time soil samples are taken. The property shown here is located in a downtown urban location that was a gas station until the mid-1980s, but for the last 25 years has been a vacant lot. This type of contaminated property is known as a "Brownfield" and it is estimated that there is many as 100,000 Brownfields it sites in Canada . Weather be a former gas station or vacant industrial site Brownfields can and, in some cases, are excellent investment opportunities. But first in order clean up or "remediate" a Brownfield site it is necessary to determine the extent of the contamination. To do this our site engineer must consider many variables including soil type and density, topography and proximity to bodies of water. Once the extent of the contamination is known we can then plan and execute a site cleanup. To see our video on Brownfield cleanups search "Fisher environmental Brownfield remediation". To learn more about Brownfield investment opportunities. Call us directly at 905-475-7755.

An enterprise-wide business continuity testing policy should be established by the board and senior management and should set expectations for business lines and support functions to follow in implementing testing strategies and test plans. The policy should establish a testing cycle that increases in scope and complexity over time. As such, the testing policy should continuously improve by adapting to changes in business conditions and supporting expanded integration testing.

https://www.mineralstate.co.uk - how to take a hair sample for hair analysis: Hair Mineral Analysis (HTMA) is a reliable clinical laboratory-screening test to measure a person's trace element and mineral content status for such minerals as calcium, iron, potassium and zinc in a hair sample. It also detects "Heavy metals toxicity”, providing you with an accurate analysis of high levels of toxic metals concentrations including aluminium, arsenic, mercury and lead by using a hair sample for heavy metal testing. In total, the test detects 37 elements including 8 toxic metals, 15 essential minerals and 14 additional elements. You can use this tool as a part of your everyday health as a preventative screening assessment. Use the test to assess your elemental status, to obtain optimum health, and to assist you in determining if you have been exposed to heavy metal poisoning. NB: The lab report is 13 pages long please check the sample report. The kits also come with dedicated personal support and advice from a fully qualified nutritionist via email to help you understand and interpret the results from the test. https://youtu.be/y3_8ZKFx0_U

Chris Dowling explains the keys to successful sampling and interpretation of plant tissue tests in winter crops. Why tissue test? Plant tissue tests ask the crop 'what's wrong?'. Ideally, analysis can get to the core of an issue before yield has been overly compromised. Plant tissue results are more sensitive to short term nutrient supply and growing conditions than soil test information. Tissue tests are more accurate when diagnosing a nutrient deficiency, toxicity or imbalance. Tissue tests confirm plants are accessing nutrients. Just because nutrients are available, doesn’t mean the plant is using them. Results are fast. Tissue test results can be back in a week. This means imbalances can be addressed as soon as possible. Test strips applying extra nutrients are another way to diagnose nutrient deficiencies, but they take a few weeks. Critical values from local and international sources are easy to access. Comparing your results with standard published values will identify any crop nutrition issues. Talk with your agronomist as ideal levels for nutrients vary depending on the species, plant part, time of year and stage of growth. Plant tissue tests do not replace soil tests. Tissue and soil tests are complementary, and both are necessary for best practice crop nutrition. You will learn… The webinar covers: which plant parts to sample the best time(s) to sample: light levels and frost can affect results, and ideally, tissue test before problems appear. how to collect samples for the most accurate results. how to store, handle and transport samples How to interpret the results: what do the numbers mean, what are the different tests and approaches to interpretation? A pile is basically a long cylinder of a strong material such as concrete that is pushed into the ground to act as a steady support for structures built on top of it. Pile foundations are used in the following situations: When there is a layer of weak soil at the surface. This layer cannot support the weight of the building, so the loads of the building have to bypass this layer and be transferred to the layer of stronger soil or rock that is below the weak layer. When a building has very heavy, concentrated loads, such as in a high rise structure, bridge, or water tank. Pile foundations are capable of taking higher loads than spread footings. ---------------------------------------------------------- Watch Pile Driving for Bridge Pile Foundations: https://youtu.be/uDom7JFW0TI Our Other Videos on Total Station Videos: Area calculation using total station https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hauXiQwKj6w&t=1s How to perform station setup in total station https://youtu.be/AeIXzOoErU0 How to create a new job in total station https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ti_AJcin_DM Follow us on: Google Plus: https://plus.google.com/communities/110168388208013270029 Twitter: https://twitter.com/Civil_Gem?s=08
