Steroids and Brain Tumours | Understanding Brain Tumours

01:58
One of the key functions of steroids in the treatment of brain tumours is to reduce inflammation/swelling and ease associated symptoms, such as headaches. They are also used to protect the brain at the time of surgery, and to treat nausea, which some people experience when having radiotherapy or chemotherapy. Crossing the Blood-Brain Barrier & Eliminating Sickness, Disease, Cancer with Essential Oils

12:27
WATCH THIS VIDEO-BLOOD BRAIN BARRIER BREAK THROUGH It was thought for years that the interstitial tissues of the brain served as a barrier to keep damaging substances from reaching the neurons of the brain and the cerebrospinal fluid. Instead of a barrier, it would be more accurate to consider it as a sieve or filter through which only molecules of a certain size or smaller can pass. Most of the molecules of the substances used in chemotherapy are too large to pass through the blood-brain filter, which is why doctors say that chemotherapy doesn't work on brain cancer. Some of the smaller molecules get through, but not the whole suite of drugs intended. Doctors don't know for sure, but it seems that in order to cross the blood-brain barrier, only molecules less than 800-1000 atomic mass units (amu) in molecular weight can get through. Lipid solubility seems to be another factor which facilitates passing through the blood-brain barrier. Water soluble molecules don't usually penetrate into brain tissue, even when very small. The molecules of essential oils are all not only small, but lipid soluble as well.In fact, when it comes to essential oils, small molecules (less than 500 amu) are what they are made of. That is why they are aromatic. The only way for something to be aromatic is for the molecules to be so small that they readily leap into the air so they can enter our noses and be detected as odor and smell. Essential oils of every species cross the blood-brain barrier. This makes them uniquely able to address disease, not only from a physical level, but from a more basic and fundamental level-that of the emotions which are often the root cause of physical illness. Because of the tiny molecular structure of the components of an essential oil, they are extremely concentrated. One drop contains approximately 40 million-trillion molecules. Numerically that is a 4 with 19 zeros after it: We have 100 trillion cells in our bodies, and that's a lot. But .Sesquiterpene molecules deliver oxygen molecules to cells, like hemoglobin does in the blood. Sesquiterpenes can also erase or deprogram miswritten codes in the DNA. Sesquiterpenes are thought to be especially effective in fighting cancer because the root problem with a cancer cell is that it contains misinformation, and sesquiterpenes can erase that garbled information. At the same time the oxygen carried by sesquiterpene molecules creates an environment where cancer cells can't reproduce. Hence, sesquiterpenes deliver cancer cells a double punch-onethat disables their coded misbehavior and a second that stops their growth. The American Medical Association (AMA) has said that if they could find an agent that would pass the blood-brain barrier, they would be able to find cures for ailments such as Lou Gehrig's disease, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, and Parkinson's disease. First, you clean the receptor sites allowing the proper transfer of hormones, peptides, neurotransmitters, steroids, and other intracellular messengers. (The Phenylpropanoids do that.) Second, you deprogram or erase the wrong information from cellular memory stored in the DNA. (The Sesquiterpenes take care of that.)Third, you reprogram the cells with the correct information so they can function properly.NONE OF THE INFO IN THIS VIDEO IS INTENDED TO TREAT OR Diagnose. Side Effects of Prednisone - That You Should Be Aware Of Before Using ❗

03:12
side effects of prednisone is used to treat conditions such as arthritis, blood disorders, breathing problems, severe allergies, skin diseases, cancer, eye problems, and immune system disorders. Prednisone long term side effects belongs to a class of drugs known as corticosteroids. It decreases your immune system's response to various diseases to reduce symptoms such as swelling and allergic-type reactions. Prednisone side effects in men may weaken your immune system. A weakened immune system makes you more likely to get infections. More common side effects The more common side effects that occur with prednisone side effects short term include: confusion excitement restlessness headache nausea vomiting thinning skin acne trouble sleeping weight gain severe allergic reactions changes in emotions or moods, such as depression changes in vision eye pain infection, with symptoms such as: fever or chills cough sore throat trouble or pain in passing urine high blood sugar, with symptoms such as: increased thirst passing urine more often feeling sleepy or confused swelling of your ankles or feet The most commonly reported adverse effects associated with corticosteroid use include fluid retention, alteration in glucose tolerance, high blood pressure, behavior and mood changes, increased appetite and weight gain. Side effects of prednisone and other corticosteroids range from mild annoyances to serious, irreversible organ damage, and they occur more frequently with higher doses and more prolonged treatment. Common side effects include: Retention of sodium (salt) and fluid Weight gain on prednisone High blood pressure Loss of potassium Headache Muscle weakness Nausea Vomiting Acne Thinning skin moon face Serious side effects include: Hiccups Puffiness of the face (moon face) Growth of facial hair Thinning and easy bruising of the skin Impaired wound healing Glaucoma Cataracts Ulcers in the stomach and duodenum Worsening of diabetes Irregular menses Rounding of the upper back ("buffalo hump") Obesity Retardation of growth in children Convulsions Anaphylaxis (severe allergic reactions like hives, itching, skin rash, swollen lips/tongue/face) Vision changes Congestive heart failure Heart attack Pulmonary edema Syncope Tachycardia Thrombophlebitis Vasculitis Allergic dermatitis Low blood pressure Amenorrhea (lack of menstruation) Newly onset diabetes Hyperglycemia Hypothyroidism Pancreatitis Anemia Amnesia This drug also causes psychiatric disturbances, which include: what is considered a high dose of prednisone Depression Euphoria Insomnia Mood swings Personality changes Psychotic behavior Other possible serious side effects of this drug include: Prednisone short term dosage and diabetes: is associated with new onset or manifestations of latent diabetes, and worsening of diabetes. Diabetics may require higher doses of diabetes medications while taking. Allergic reaction: Some people may develop a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) to prednisone withdrawal after 5 days that includes swelling of the airways (angioedema) that may result in shortness of breath or airway blockage. Immune suppression: Prednisone 60 mg for 5 days side effects suppresses the immune system and, therefore, increases the frequency or severity of infections and decreases the effectiveness of vaccines and antibiotics. Osteoporosis: Prednisone may cause osteoporosis that results in fractures of bones. Patients taking long-term prednisone often receive supplements of calcium and vitamin D to counteract the effects on bones. Calcium and vitamin D probably are not enough, however, and treatment with bisphosphonates such as alendronate (Fosamax) and risedronate (Actonel) may be necessary. Calcitonin (Miacalcin) also is effective. The development of osteoporosis and the need for treatment can be monitored using bone density scans. Adrenal insufficiency and weaning off prednisone: Prolonged use of prednisone and other corticosteroids causes the adrenal glands to atrophy (shrink) and stop producing the body's natural corticosteroid, cortisol. tapering off prednisone after short term use Necrosis of hips and joints: A serious complication of long-term use of allergic reaction Prednisone is aseptic necrosis of the hip joints. Aseptic necrosis is a condition in which there is death and degeneration of the hip bone. It is a painful condition that ultimately can lead to the need for surgical replacement of the hip. Aseptic necrosis also has been reported in the knee joints. The estimated incidence of aseptic necrosis among long-term users of corticosteroids is 3%-4%. Patients taking corticosteroids who develop pain in the hips or knees should report the pain to their doctors promptly. Patient Advice Medical Disclaimer: It is always advised that Patients should check with their healthcare provider before starting any new medications, including herbal supplements and over the counter products, or receiving any vaccinations.

GLIOBLASTOMA - WikiVidi Documentary

28:46
Glioblastoma, also known as glioblastoma multiforme , is the most aggressive cancer that begins within the brain. Initially, signs and symptoms of glioblastoma are non-specific. They may include headaches, personality changes, nausea, and symptoms similar to those of a stroke. Worsening of symptoms often is rapid. This may progress to unconsciousness. The cause of most cases is unclear. Uncommon risk factors include genetic disorders such as neurofibromatosis and Li–Fraumeni syndrome and, previous radiation therapy. Glioblastomas represent 15% of brain tumors. They can either start from normal brain cells or develop from an existing low-grade astrocytoma. The diagnosis typically is made by a combination of CT scan, MRI scan, and tissue biopsy. There is no clear way to prevent the disease. Typically, treatment involves surgery, after which chemotherapy and radiation therapy are used. The medication temozolomide is used frequently as part of chemotherapy. Corticosteroid Mnemonics in Pharmacology for Medical and Dental Professional Exams ,Session 1

05:22
This video deals with Quick n easy way to memorise about Corticosteroid drugs.Corticosteroids are a class of steroid hormones that are produced in the adrenal cortex of vertebrates, as well as the synthetic analogues of these hormones. Two main classes of corticosteroids, glucocorticoidsand mineralocorticoids, are involved in a wide range of physiologic processes, including stress response, immune response, and regulation of inflammation, carbohydratemetabolism, protein catabolism, blood electrolyte levels, and behavior.[1]Synthetic pharmaceutical drugs with corticosteroid-like effects are used in a variety of conditions, ranging from brain tumors to skin diseases. Dexamethasone and its derivatives are almost pure glucocorticoids, while prednisone and its derivatives have some mineralocorticoid action in addition to the glucocorticoid effect. Fludrocortisone(Florinef) is a synthetic mineralocorticoid. Hydrocortisone (cortisol) is typically used for replacement therapy, e.g. for adrenal insufficiency and congenital adrenal hyperplasia. Medical conditions treated with systemic corticosteroids:[3][4] Allergy and respirology medicineAsthma (severe exacerbations)Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)Allergic rhinitisAtopic dermatitisHivesAngioedemaAnaphylaxisFood allergiesDrug allergiesNasal polypsHypersensitivity pneumonitisSarcoidosisEosinophilic pneumoniaInterstitial lung diseaseDermatologyPemphigus vulgarisContact dermatitisEndocrinology (usually at physiologic doses)Adrenal insufficiencyCongenital adrenal hyperplasiaGastroenterologyUlcerative colitisCrohn’s diseaseAutoimmune hepatitisHematologyLymphomaLeukemiaHemolytic anemiaIdiopathic thrombocytopenic purpuraMultiple MyelomaRheumatology/ImmunologyRheumatoid arthritisSystemic lupus erythematosusPolymyalgia rheumaticaPolymyositisDermatomyositisPolyarteritisVasculitisOphthalmologyUveitisKeratoconjunctivitisOther conditionsMultiple sclerosisOrgan transplantationNephrotic syndromeChronic hepatitis (flare ups)Cerebral edemaIgG4-related diseaseProstate cancerTendinosisLichen planus Topical formulations are also available for the skin, eyes (uveitis), lungs (asthma), nose (rhinitis), and bowels. Corticosteroids are also used supportively to prevent nausea, often in combination with 5-HT3 antagonists (e.g.ondansetron). Typical undesired effects of glucocorticoids present quite uniformly as drug-induced Cushing's syndrome. Typical mineralocorticoid side-effects are hypertension (abnormally high blood pressure), hypokalemia (low potassium levels in the blood), hypernatremia (high sodium levels in the blood) without causing peripheral edema, metabolic alkalosis and connective tissue weakness.[5] Wound healing or ulcer formation may be ibhibited by the immunosuppressive effects. Clinical and experimental evidence indicates that corticosteroids can cause permanent eye damage by inducing central serous retinopathy (CSR, also known as central serous chorioretinopathy, CSC).[6] A variety of steroid medications, from anti-allergy nasal sprays (Nasonex, Flonase) to topical skin creams, to eye drops (Tobradex), to prednisone have been implicated in the development of CSR.[7][8] Corticosteroids have been widely used in treating people with traumatic brain injury.[9] A systematic review identified 20 randomised controlled trials and included 12,303 participants, then compared patients who received corticosteroids with patients who received no treatment. The authors recommended people with traumatic head injury should not be routinely treated with corticosteroids.[10] Use of corticosteroids has numerous side-effects, some of which may be severe: Neuropsychiatric: steroid psychosis,[13] and anxiety,[14] depression. Therapeutic doses may cause a feeling of artificial well-being ("steroid euphoria").[15] The neuropsychiatric effects are partly mediated by sensitization of the body to the actions of adrenaline. Therapeutically, the bulk of corticosteroid dose is given in the morning to mimic the body's diurnal rhythm; if given at night, the feeling of being energized will interfere with sleep. An extensive review is provided by Flores and Gumina.[16]Cardiovascular: Corticosteroids can cause sodium retention through a direct action on the kidney, in a manner analogous to the mineralocorticoid aldosterone. This can result in fluid retention and hypertension.Metabolic: Corticosteroids cause a movement of body fat to the face and torso, resulting respectively in "moon face" and "buffalo hump". and away from the limbs. Due to the diversion of amino-acids to glucose, they are considered anti-anabolic, and long term therapy can cause muscle wasting[17]Endocrine: By increasing the production of glucose from amino-acid breakdown and opposing the action of insulin, corticosteroids can cause hyperglycemia,[18] insulin resistance and diabetes mellitus.[19]Skeletal: Steroid-induced osteoporosis may be a side-effect of long-term corticosteroid use. 1991/92 Inside Edition Report (Pro Wrestling & Steroids)

05:44
(c)1991/92 CBS Paramount Television Clip from a 1991 or 1992 episode of Inside Edition focusing on a trial that shone a harsh light on steroid use in professional wrestling, specifically the WWF (now WWE). This piece by Daniel S. Goldfarb began with emphasis on the public image of lead wrestling star Hulk Hogan before noting the use of anabolic steroids in the wrestling world (most likely this was due to the then-recent admission by former NFL defensive end Lyle Alzado that he had used steroids; which he blamed for the brain cancer that eventually took his life); then points out the risks (sterility, bone degeneration) vs. the risks. After interviewing an anonymous wrestler who took 'roids for competitive reasons despite knowing the risk; Goldfarb interviews the man the wrestler said he got the steroids from, one Dr. George Zahorian III (who tried to state that he was trying to wean the athletes off the drugs when the former ringside physician for the Pennsylvania athletic commission before going on trial for selling illegal steroids. The wrestlers, Goldfarb notes, were not prosecuted because possessing the steroids wasn't a crime at the time the incident Dr. Zahorian was tried for took place). Several then-current WWF stars were subpoenaed to testify, and with the exception of Hulk Hogan (excused despite Dr. Zahorian charging that he treated Hogan for steroid abuse) testified that the wrestlers mailed money and the steroids were sent by Federal Express. Dr. Zahorian was eventually convicted. Also interviewed was Dr. Alan Levy, former pro wrestler and later WWF commentator Bruno Sammartino, U.S. Attorney James West (who sent an undercover agent to attempt to buy steroids); while a clip of Superstar Billy Graham (who later became an outspoken critic of pro wrestling for other reasons; Graham {who was also threatening to sue the WWF} testified that Dr. Zahorian prescribed 95% of the steroids; resulting in his bones in his right leg being destroyed and Graham being sterile) being interviewed outside the courtroom is also seen. At the end, Bill O'Reilly mentioned that the WWF had announced plans to start random drug testing; only to learn that Thursday that the testing that just started the day before.

5-year-old battles DIPG and continues Lauren Hill's cancer fight

04:52
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Lauren Hill's battle with cancer was the first introduction for many to the letters DIPG. Since it's taken Lauren Hill's life, it has also claimed the lives of Kyler Bradley and Huxley Williams. Brooklyn Smith of Erlanger is 2016's ambassador for the Hyde Park Blast. She was diagnosed with DIPG in January, and Local 12 has followed the Smile for Brooklyn Campaign. Neither Brooklyn nor her parents have spoken to the media, until Wednesday, May 18. They shared their story with Local 12 News. Mr. Nick Smith had the, "Who are you going to spend the rest of your life with?" figured out when he entered Boone County High School. He met his wife freshman year and they started dating. They've been together ever since. Nick and Brittany were married by junior year in college, and talked about family down the road. Brittany said, "We wanted to wait a little while. She was a surprise." Brooklyn spoke her first words at six months, walked at 10 months, but the bundle of "don't get in my way" hit a wall in January. Brittany said, "The weekend following her fifth birthday she fell in the shower, off the toilet twice and we knew something was wrong." It was a tumor on the brain stem. Nick told Local 12, "I asked him, 'What does this mean when we talk about longevity?' 10 years? No. Two. There aren't words." Chemo, radiation and steroids can make you mad but Brooklyn responded and those symptoms that led them to a diagnosis of DIPG went away for a couple of months. "Her left hand, she cannot really use it. Grip straighten, thumbs, left leg as she walks she kinda drags," said her mom. Brooklyn knows the letters "DIPG" and the word "tumor." The word "cancer" isn't used in the house. The mother who lost her daughter to those four letters has reached out to help the Smiths. No parent tears were allowed in the house either; at least none that might be noticed by a little girl wondering why they aren't smiling. Pulled out of preschool Brooklyn has a "monkey in the chair;" a program to help cancer patients stay connected to their classmates. Her monkey's name, what else, Sunshine. Lauren's lessons are mandatory in the Smith house: live in the moment, say what they need to say, advocate for medical funding and change and at all cost know who you're going to spend the rest of your life with. Since Local 12's visit doctors added an aggressive steroids regimen. Brooklyn has gained 12 pounds and been fitted for a leg brace to help her walk. The Hyde Park Blast will happen June 25 and 26.

Binge Eating, Steroids, & Chemo

After getting switched from Myfortic - I'm taking Prednisone (steroid) as part of my immunosuppressant for my kidney transplant. I'm starting to see a puffy "prednisone face". Also, I'm given Dexamethasone (steroid) - a high dose for 4 days after starting after my chemo infusion. It makes me binge eat. (My stoma & colostomy bag is part of the cause in binge eating.) My chemo meds has a side effect that triggers eating, too. I don't feel the indicator that tells me I'm full so I try to eyeball it, but while I'm on this medication I can't. I'm always thinking about food. I did discuss this issue with the medical staff and they told me not to worry - just go with it. It may come a time when I won't be able to eat. Breaking News - Questions asked after three Mississippi kids get rare DIPG

13:00
AutoNews- Three children in the same town have been diagnosed with an incurable child brain tumor and parents can't help but ask why.Ocean Springs, a small town populated with less than 18,000 people, has been blighted by Hurricane Katrina and the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.Parents are now questioning if these environmental factors led to a cancer cluster for the three children with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG), a brain tumor that has no known survivors.Cancer clusters form in areas polluted with toxic chemicals, but one of the children was diagnosed before the spill making the cause a mystery. And yet, this tumor impacts only 300 to 400 children a year in the United States - making Ocean Springs' rare surge in cases highly unusual.Sophia Myers, the most recent child to be diagnosed, first experienced unexplained vomiting and wobbly walking before her doctors found the terminal brain tumor. The disease, which kills 90 percent of its victims within 18 months, has left the seven-year-old in hospice care after radiation and steroids failed to slow the growth of the deadly tumor. The seven-year-old dancer whose time is running outAngel Myers, Sophia's mother, told the Sun Herald that she fell to the floor after her daughter was diagnosed with DIPG.The doctors informed the family that Sophia only had nine to 12 months to live because the inoperable brain tumor would only keep spreading.DIPG is an aggressive tumor that is found at the base of the brain. It forms in the glial tissue, which is responsible for supporting and protecting the brain's neurons.Radiation can briefly halt the spread of the tumor for an average of six to nine months, but there is no cure.Sophia went through radiation treatment in an attempt to hinder the spread of the cancerous cells. She also took steroids to relieve the pressure that was building in her brain from the tumor. But these steroids had an adverse effect on her body and caused her face to swell. Her mother said her daughter also experienced an increase in rage because of the medication.'I hate cancer,' Angel Myers said to the Sun Herald.'I hate it. I hate steroids. I hate what they have done to my child. I hate what has become of her life, our lives - existing minute by minute on a roller coaster that is so fast and violent and unexpected, just functioning not living.'Despite the radiation and steroids, the disease has spread in Sophia's brain and robbed her of her ability to walk. The former dancer is now bound to a bed or chair because her body is stiff and numb.Typically, children with DIPG develop problems controlling eye movements, facial expressions, speech, and arm and leg mobility. The disease, on average, occurs in children aged four to 11.Sophia was moved to hospice care where she is being kept comfortable while her parents continue to search for a miracle cure.Angel said in a Facebook post that the family has already started looking into funeral plans as they prepare for Sophia's death. But she still holds onto hope that her daughter could be the one who survives the terminal disease.'I am still begging God for a miracle,' Angel said in the post. 'Please God. So many people are following Sophia. It's unbelievable.'She said the one healthy part of her daughter left is her eyes. That is where she still sees what her daughter used to be before the cancer took over her brain.'For the most part, her eyes are what we have left of our healthy girl,' Angel said. 'Her eyes, so genuine and pure, are our Sophia.'A family friend started a GoFundMe page to raise awareness for pediatric cancer and also to help pay for all of Sophia's treatment. The first two children who lost their battle with the rare brain tumor in Ocean SpringsSophia Mohler was the first known child to be diagnosed with DIPG in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. She was diagnosed in 2009 at seven years old after her parents noticed subtle changes to her health and behavior. Her eyes began to shift, so doctors recommended for Sophia to get glasses in order to correct them. She got an MRI after the glasses were unable to correct her eyes which revealed she had the deadly brain cancer.Sophia went through radiation, oral chemotherapy and clinical trial drugs in an attempt to stop the progression of the disease.Radiation therapy has been the most effective treatment on DIPG cases to help slow down the spread of the tumor, but it isn't a cure.Sophia died one year after her terminal diagnosis.Jaxon Schoenberg was diagnosed after Sophia

Dexamethasonone in small doses under 2 mgs a day may be safe. Giving Dex with some kind of on and off pulsing may avoid adrenal atrophy and be safe. My complaint involves 8 mgs a day for 5 months straight with no taper ever and no break ever which should be illegal because it is now legal murder. Drug companies and doctors are profiting by failing to tell the public about the well known catastrophic adrenal atrophy and muscle atrophy immobilizing side effects to help gain consent for other treatments like more drugs, radiation and brain surgery in this case.

7 Common Drugs You Can Replace With Turmeric

04:18
Turmeric has been the subject of nearly 6,000 peer-reviewed and published biomedical studies. Researchers have been studying the powerful spice for years. Thanks to piles of research, scientists have come to the conclusion that turmeric has some major health benefits for the body and brain. Its active ingredient – curcumin – is so powerful that turmeric can be used to replace many dangerous medications. It serves as a safer, more natural options sans harmful side effects. Here are seven drugs you can replace with turmeric 1.Aspirin (Blood Thinner) Studies have shown that curcumic contains anti-platelet effects, which indicates that it may be a safer and more natural treatment option than aspirin, for patients who are prone to vascular thrombosis. 2.Metformin (Diabetes Drug) In a 2009 study, researchers found that curcumin is able to activate AMPK, which increases glucose uptake. According to the study, curcumin was found to be 500 times to 10,000 times more potent than metformin in activating activated protein kinase (AMPK). 3.Atorvastatin (Cholesterol Medication) In a 2008 study, researchers found that a standard preparation of curcuminoids from turmeric performed better than the drug atorvastatin or Lipitor. Turmeric was more effective at reducing inflammation and oxidative-stress in patients with type-2 diabetes. 4.Anti-inflammatory Drugs According to a 2004 study published in the journal Oncogene, curcumin was found to be an effective alternative to many anti-inflammatory drugs, thanks to its powerful natural anti-inflammatory properties. The study showed that curcumin may be used instead of: • Ibuprofen • Sulindac • Naproxen • Diclofenac • Celecoxib And Tamoxifen. 5.Oxaliplatin (Chemotherapy-Drug) A study published in the International Journal of Cancer in 2009 found that curcumin was more effective as an anti-proliferative agent in colorectal cell lines, compared to the chemotherapy drug oxaliplatin. Other studies have shown that curcumin is able to target several different types of cancer, including lung-cancer, melanoma, breast-cancer, ovarian-cancer and gastrointestinal-cancers. 6.Corticosteroids (Steroid Medications) A study published in Pytotherapy Research found that curcumin, the primary polyphenol in turmeric, was able to better manage an inflammatory eye disease compared to steroids. Another study published in Critical Care Medicine found that curcumin was also more effective than steroids at regulating inflammatory genes. 7. Fluoxetine & Imipramine (Antidepressants) According to a 2011 study published in Acta Poloniae Pharmaceutica, cucumin was more effective than both Prozac and Imipramine at reducing depressive behavior in an animal model. Few ways to use Turmeric in your diet are Blend it into a smoothie. While fresh turmeric root is especially great in juices and smoothies, a pinch of ground spice is good, too. Use it in soups. A bowl of vegetable or chicken soup feels even more warming when it's tinged with golden turmeric. Try it with greens. Sprinkle turmeric into sautéed or braised greens like kale, collards, and cabbage Add it to rice. A dash of turmeric brings color and mild flavor to a pot of plain rice or a fancier pilaf. Toss it with roasted vegetables. Turmeric's slightly warm and peppery flavor works especially well with cauliflower, potatoes, and root vegetables. The facts about your dog and prednisone

10:14
Dr. Susan McMillan, owner of Vet to Pet Mobile Veterinary Service discusses prednisone. This episode is sponsored by MoleKule. Molekule is offering $75.00 off your first order by mentioning vettalk.  What is prednisolone? Well, when prednisone enters the kidneys, it is activated as prednisolone. If there is weak or compromised liver function, prednisolone for dogs may be administered instead for the same effects. Both prednisone and prednisolone are catabolic steroids. Their primary function in dogs is to relieve swelling and inflammation that arise due to any number of medical conditions. Let’s learn more about prednisone for dogs, its uses, and its potentially dangerous side effects! What is prednisone used for in dogs? Prednisone has a wide range of applications for medical treatment in dogs. Usually, it is deployed in treating severe allergies, or other conditions that involve a great deal of swelling and inflammation. These include, but are not limited to: Breathing problems, such as asthma or respiratory infection Joint pain associated with arthritis Skin irritations or itching due to allergic reactions, eczema, or dermatitis Severe allergic reactions, like anaphylactic shock Addison’s disease, in which adrenal function is compromised Cancer, including lymphoma Irritable bowel syndrome Prednisone and prednisolone for dogs are very useful steroids, but very strong, twice as powerful or more than the cortisol naturally produced by their own adrenal glands. It should be administered with great care and precision. What is the proper dosage of prednisone for dogs? Is there a standard prednisone dosage for dogs? Not really. For humans, typical prednisone dosages include 20mg, 10mg, and 5mg. Dogs come in so many shapes and sizes that standard human dosages are far too high for them to tolerate. A dog’s veterinarian will take size, age, weight, and overall health condition, as well as the state of the dog’s liver to process steroids, into account before prescribing a dosage that is individually tailored to them.     How is prednisone administered? Prednisone and prednisolone are versatile steroids, and are available in a number of formats. Prednisone can be given orally, topically, or by direct injection. It can be prescribed for dogs as tablets, pills, eye drops, liquid, syrup, injection, or topical ointment. A dog’s veterinarian will determine which form and what prednisone dosage are best for a given dog, based on the dog’s condition and particular needs. Side effects of prednisone in dogs Side effects of prednisone for dogs are not mild, and can affect multiple internal and external systems, and yield a number of behavioral changes. Unless the situation is dire indeed, prednisone and prednisolone should be avoided when it comes to treating puppies, very young dogs, and dogs that have diabetes or are pregnant. It is particularly dangerous for young dogs and puppies, since long-term use of prednisone can slow or inhibit their normal patterns of growth and restrict their progress toward physical maturity.

07:10
Get In The Best Shape Yet - No Gym Required: https://go.sixpackabs.com/testma34f3 Sure - it's great when you can cut out salt, sugar, and fat out of your diet. But, what a lot of men end up doing when trying to cut out all that bad is end up with bland, boring food...And nothing can put you more at risk of veering off your nutrition than unappetizing, flavorless food. That's why today I - Clark Bartram - am here to break down my 4 top herbs & spices that will pack some delicious flavor for your meals and even add more health benefits to what you're eating. Some of theses herbs & spices have even been studied and used for medicinal purposes to help us older men to be in not only the best shape but best health. So, let's break it all down for you: 1:10 - Turmeric: This bright orange powder or root form has been used for inflammatory conditions. "Preliminary studies found that curcuminoids may: reduce the number of hearing attacks bypass patients had after surgery...Control knee pain from osteoarthritis as well as ibuprofen did..." http://nccih.nih.gov/health/turmeric/ataglance.htm Stir 1/2-1 teaspoon into a cup of hummus, a latte, tea, and curries. Turmeric looks like ginger root but has that distinct orange color on the inside. 2:51 - Garlic: Help to reduce your risk of heart disease and cancers with garlic. "Several population studies show an association between increased intake of garlic and reduced risk of certain cancers, including cancers of the stomach, colon, esophagus, pancreas, and breast..." http://www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/causes-prevention/risk/diet/garlic-fact-sheet "Garlic supplementation reduced blood pressure... Reduced total cholesterol...Has the potential for cardiovascular protection based on risk factor reduction (hypertension and total cholesterol)..." http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26764327 Try implementing 1 clove or 1/8-1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder daily. Sautee minced garlic in kinds of pasta, stir-frys, make marinades and salad dressings, put garlic powder on popcorn, and even try pickled garlic. 4:15 - Cinnamon: This is for your cholesterol. "...Intake of 1, 3, or 6 g of cinnamon per day reduces serum glucose, triglyceride, LDL cholesterol, and total cholesterol in people with type 2 diabetes" http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5067830/ You can throw some cinnamon in your coffee, oatmeal, and smoothies in its powder form, or take the stick form and put it into teas. 5:16 - Ginseng: Used for hundreds of years for varying health reasons. For the sake of boosting test, I'm talking about how it helps with libido. "Ginseng enhances sexual performance, improves male fertility through modulating the neuronal and hormonal systems, promotes spermatogenesis, and acts directly on sperms via steroid receptors." http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3861174/ "Red ginseng extract increased... Circulating angiogenic cell mobilization and decreased inflammation in AMI (acute myocardial infarction) patients, thereby improving CFR (coronary flow reserve)..." http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20641058 You can take it in pill form, drink 2 milligrams of ginseng tea twice a day, or chew the root raw to absorb all of its benefits. Now, if you want more nutrition tips or have more questions on what we men should be eating or staying away from to boost test, make sure to leave your comment or question for me at http://seniorityhealth.com/4-herbs-spices-for-boosting-test-supporting-male-health/. The Real Wolverine Revealed: Increase Testosterone Naturally

03:16
My name is Christopher Walker. I’ve never been the biggest guy or the most ripped. I was never the strongest or the fastest. But one thing I can finally rest assured about, is my masculinity is intact because I learned how to boost testosterone naturally. I am a man and there’s nothing artificial about it. But if we wind the clocks back a second, you’ll see that things weren’t always like this. When I was a teenager I was diagnosed with a brain tumor that blocked key male hormone production in my pituitary gland - the master gland for communicating between the brain and the body to produce masculine hormones like testosterone. At just 19 years old, my T levels were almost zero! 11 ng/dL to be precise. I was 6’2” and only 150lbs of skin. Unable to gain any muscle, I was weak, low in energy and performance in the bedroom was ZILCH. No drive, no desire. In the prime of my youth I didn’t even feel like a man. I had no strength and no power. I felt nothing. Doctors gave me synthetic prescriptions, but it was clear even then, that pumping my body with synthetic compounds for the rest of my life was not the solution! So instead of relying on a broken medical system, I got to work! I began searching for a better and more natural solution. Within just 18 months, my testosterone levels went from almost zero to 1192 ng.dL. I was above the recommended medical standard and found that the answer wasn’t with synthetic supplements and drugs, it was in nature! Finding ways to naturally restore the health of the human body and to increase testosterone naturally became my passion. After earning my neuroscience degree from Duke University, I went on to write multiple men’s health books on the subject of natural testosterone production. My articles and videos are seen by an average of 100M men every year. I became an expert, not by choice, but by necessity. The biggest secret I discovered in my journey to heal myself was this: Nature has provided us with everything we need to heal ourselves. For men’s health, three key pillars are of paramount importance: #1. Micronutrients are needed for the production of our testosterone. To correct this you need the exact amount of zinc and magnesium. Research shows that hormonal levels can be completely restored within a few weeks of implementing this! #2. Specific herbs regulate the Testosterone-killing stress hormone cortisol & feminizing hormone estrogen, while raising levels of your important masculine androgen hormones. Natural herbs like ashwagandha have been used for thousands of years and have large amounts of human scientific research to back them up to increase testosterone naturally. #3. You need to naturally stimulate production of the trigger hormone LH in the pituitary. LH signals to your body to produce Testosterone naturally. Specific natural compounds such as glycine, and L-theanine are proven to stimulate your pituitary’s production of the important trigger hormone LH. It’s very simple and effective. When you solve all three, you’ll rebalance your natural biology and notice endless energy, no more performance problems, greater strength and better overall health! Since my life changed over 10 years ago, I’ve wanted other men to experience the exact same amazing benefits I’ve felt. That’s why I made the all-natural formula Testro-X. Testro-X contains each of these extremely important natural compounds to address these three areas: 1. micronutrient deficiencies 2. cortisol and estrogen regulation 3. triggering LH production to increase testosterone naturally. It’s a simple, but precise formula, based off nature’s innate wisdom, and certified effective by 88 modern medical research studies. And it’s been massively effective and life-changing for those who have found used it. If you’re ready to restore your biological roots of masculinity, to experience the benefits of amazing sleep, endless energy, incredible performance in the gym, relationships, and at work, and a leaner more muscular physique, then it’s time to choose the high leverage, backed by science, inspired by nature: Testro-X. now when you have problems with your male health. You start to experience issues like Low T and E. And these issues can be extremely embarrassing that can be extremely frustrating and a lot of times you don't even know where to go and look for for help with these with these uh problems. So a lot of people go to their doctor their prescribed some sort of pharmaceutical and uh, what they don't realize is that that pharmaceutical is actually a Band-Aid. It's not something that's going to actually solve the problem now today in this video. I'm going to talk to you about how to actually solve that. If you want to increase testosterone naturally, you can find Testro-X and try it for yourself for 60 days with no risk (money back guarantee) at - https://www.truthnutra.com/testro-x-yt Gym location: Front Range Boxing Academy Boulder, CO

Cancer is Curable Now - What your Doctor Should know! Hormones

03:13
Cancer is Curable Now - What your Doctor Should know! Hormones. Dr. Leigh Erin Connealy explains on Cancer is curable now what your doctor should know about Hormones. Let's learn more at http://trulyheal.com/ozone/?secure=2&campaign=YO Blood indicator is DHEA levels. DHEA is a hormone made by our adrenal glands. We know what's the levels they should be? it's our longevity hormone, It's our stress hormone it's our new hormone. So, an indicator that your adrenal glands are functioning or not you worry your adrenal glands or little glands that sit on top of the kidneys like little hats. And they make over a hundred hormones. You must have these glands and if you don't have these glands highly functioning. You are not one going to have a functioning immune system. You'll have elevated blood sugars because your cortical steroids your steroids raise the level of cortisol and cortisol elevates the blood sugar. When you have elevated steroids it destroys the gastrointestinal system. It also destroys brain cells. So, there are lots of different things with the DHEA level. It's a reflection is your adrenal gland working for you or against you. I would say that is something rarely ever looked at by a conventional doctor. A lot of other doctors but your adrenal glands and everybody's stressed. I would say lots of adults children lots of people have adrenal gland dysfunction. We want to look at our hormones. Hormones are the important chemical messenger that turn on and off a cell on and off a particular gland or organ. You need hormones to live the natural drugs produced in your body. Your thyroid regulates the metabolism of every single cell in your body. We know that people with low thyroid gland function have a higher risk of cancers. Hormones are the messengers of life. They communicate with your body and tell every cell what to do. There are a lot of different types of hormones. There are happy hormones, sad hormones, stress hormones, growth hormones, arousal hormones.
