This video will discuss the side effects of stopping thyroid medication abruptly. Is it safe to stop taking your thyroid medication? The answer is no for several reasons which I will explain here. But first, we need to talk about why you are taking thyroid medication, to begin with. Thyroid medication is prescribed to those people who are deficient in thyroid hormone (meaning their body isn't producing enough). So if you were to stop taking your thyroid medication then your body would revert back to whatever it was capable of producing before you started taking thyroid medication. This process usually results in certain symptoms including: - Hair loss - Weight gain - Depression - Increased pain - Increased fatigue - And other symptoms of hypothyroidism But why do you experience these symptoms? These 4 reasons will help you understand why you will most likely feel worse if you do: #1. Your body may be reliant upon thyroid medication. If you've had your thyroid removed or if it's been destroyed by radioactive iodine then you may not be able to produce thyroid hormone on your own. In this case, you will be required to take thyroid hormone. #2. Your HPT axis may be blunted. Taking thyroid medication blunts the normal HPT axis in your body and it can take weeks to months for this system to recover. During this period you will most likely feel very poorly. #3. Your body may not be able to produce thyroid hormone by itself. Conditions such as Hashimoto's damage the thyroid gland and even though you may be able to produce some thyroid hormone you may not be able to produce enough to sustain yourself. #4. Thyroid supplements do not replace thyroid medication. Lastly, you want to make sure that you use supplements to compliment your medication but not to replace it. Supplements can help improve natural conversion and production of thyroid hormone but they aren't as powerful as thyroid medications. How To Cure Insomnia Naturally Without Medication | Get Rid Of Sleeping Problems | Best Way To Sleep Better At Night Hey guys! This weeks video is all about insomnia and how to treat it naturally without the use of medication. I see many patients who have insomnia and most of the time they want sleeping tablets - But actually most pharmacists, GPs, nurse practitioners prefer not to recommend sleeping tablets. As insomnia can often be improved by changing your daytime and bedtime habits or by improving your bedroom environment. See your GP, Pharmacist or Nurse Practitioner if you're still having difficulty getting to sleep after trying these techniques. WHAT IS INSOMNIA? Insomnia means poor sleep. About one third of adults do not get as much sleep as they would like. Poor sleep can mean: • Not being able to get off to sleep. • Waking up too early. • Waking for long periods in the night. • Not feeling refreshed after a night's sleep. If you have poor sleep, particularly over a long period of time, it can severely affect your life, as it can cause: • Tiredness (fatigue) and loss of energy in the daytime. • Poor concentration. • Loss of interest in usual activities. Irritability. • Depression and anxiety. • Inability to do things as well or as much as usual. • A worse quality of life. WHAT IS A NORMAL AMOUNT OF SLEEP? About 6-9 hours per night is average for most adults. Most people establish a pattern that is normal for them in their early adult life. However, as you become older, it is normal to sleep less. For most people it takes less than thirty minutes to fall asleep. So, everyone is different. What is important is that the amount of sleep that you get should be sufficient for you, and that you usually feel refreshed and not sleepy during the daytime. HOW TO SLEEP BETTER? Insomnia can often be improved by changing your daytime and bedtime habits or by improving your bedroom environment. Making small changes may help you to get a good night's sleep. Try some of the methods below for a few weeks to see if they help. See your GP, Pharmacist or Nurse Practitioner if you're still having difficulty getting to sleep after trying these techniques. DAYTIME HABITS: • Set a specific time for getting up each day. Try to stick to this time, seven days a week, even if you feel you haven't had enough sleep. This should help you sleep better at night. • Don't take a nap during the day. • Exercise daily, but don't exercise for at least four hours before going to bed. BEDTIME HABITS: • Stop drinking tea and coffee for a few hours before bedtime. • Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking, particularly shortly before going to bed. • Don't eat a big meal just before bedtime. • Don't use back-lit electronic devices shortly before going to bed. • Don't lie in bed feeling anxious about lack of sleep. Instead, get up, go to another room for about 20 minutes and do something else, such as reading or listening to soft music, before trying again. • Write a list of your worries and any ideas to solve them before going to bed. This may help you forget about them until the morning. • Link to relaxation techniques: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/stress-anxiety-depression/ways-relieve-stress/? BEDROOM ENVIRONMENT: • Use thick blinds or curtains or wear an eye mask if the early morning sunlight or bright street lamps affect your sleep. • Make sure your bedroom is at a comfortable temperature for sleeping. • Wear ear plugs if noise is a problem. • Don't use your bedroom for anything other than sleeping or sex. Avoid watching television, making phone calls, eating or working while you're in bed. • Make sure your mattress is comfortable and that you have a pillow you like, as well as adequate bedding for the time of year. How to Stop Hypothyroidism Naturally and Permanently CLICK HERE for Learn More = https://tinyurl.com/StopHypothyroidism4 The first hypothyroidism diet tip that I want to share with you is one that is very important. And this is because it’s a controversial topic because there are some highly touted “health foods” that you are eating which are actually contributing to your hypothyroidism. Some of the first foods that come to mind are any food that contains soy. This includes soybeans, edamame, soy milk, tofu, etc. Soy is very estrogenic and estrogens have been shown to inhibit the thyroid gland from secreting its thyroid hormones. And this is disturbing because I have seen more than one, very well respected hypothyroidism diet and hypothyroidism treatment program that actually recommend soy without ever discussing this very important link. Another very controversial food that directly contributes to hypothyroidism is the polyunsaturated fats in your diet. And one reason this is such a big problem is that these fats have been touted for years for their beneficial properties while ignoring the research that clearly show the dangers. But when it comes to your thyroid, these fats suppress its function on just about every level. First of all, they block the secretion of your thyroid hormone from the thyroid gland itself. Then they also block the transportation of the thyroid hormone within your bloodstream. And lastly, they block your cells from properly utilizing the hormone once they get it. The research against these fats simply can’t be ignored. And the best hypothyroidism diet should exclude these fats at all costs. Or else you’re only setting yourself up for failure. The Hypothyroidism Revolution Program 2018 - Hypothyroidism Diet to Help Heal Your Thyroid CLICK HERE to Learn More https://tinyurl.com/Hypothyroidism12 Below I’ve broken down 10 important tips that are a necessity for any successful hypothyroidism diet. But more importantly, I’ve broken them down so that you also understand why they are so important. All too often, we accept many things that we read as the truth without questioning or verifying the facts with the proper research. Avoid Anti-Thyroid Foods The first hypothyroidism diet tip that I want to share with you is one that is very important. Increase Your Saturated Fats Saturated fats on the other hand carry a lot of unfounded negative criticism. Criticizers of saturated fats still continue to cite outdated and poorly executed research studies from more than 50 years ago while ignoring the enormous amount of research showing their benefits. One of the major benefits of the saturated fats being part of your hypothyroidism diet is that they help to cancel out the negative effects of the toxic polyunsaturated fats. Eat Your Fruit Fruit can actually be one of your best friends when it comes to your hypothyroidism diet. For starters, most fruit is very high in potassium which plays an important role in regulating your blood sugar. This helps to decrease the need of insulin which helps keeps your blood sugar more stable for longer periods of time. Hypothyroidism Treatment by Home Remedies - Hypothyroidism Revolution CLICK HERE to Learn More https://tinyurl.com/Hypothyroidismrev7 Restore Your Liver Health Most of the active thyroid hormone, T3, that your body uses is produced by your liver. But your liver can’t do this unless it has plenty of stored glycogen and certain nutrients, such as selenium. So if your blood sugar is out of balance and your hypothyroidism diet lacks certain key nutrients then your liver can’t do its job. And even though your thyroid gland itself may not be the problem, your liver can be responsible for slowing it down, resulting in hypothyroidism. So the health of your liver is another major consideration when it comes to your hypothyroidism treatment. Improve Your Lifestyle Management Most people take their lifestyle for granted. But the truth is that your lifestyle can be a determining factor in whether or not your hypothyroidism treatment is successful or whether you continue to become even more hypothyroid. And no matter how you look at it, it always boils down to stress. But most people don’t realize what stress actually does to the health of your thyroid. For starters, it starts an entire cascade of hormonal reactions within your body, many of which are inflammatory and cause even more stress. Your stress hormones also play an active role in suppressing your thyroid. It does this by both inhibiting your liver from converting T4 to active T3, as mentioned above, and by increasing the conversion to the hormone, Reverse T3, which effectively blocks your thyroid function. And the more stressful our lives become, the more important it becomes to keep stress to a minimum as part of your hypothyroidism treatment. The Hypothyroidism Revolution Program - New Hypothyroidism Diet and Treatment Research CLICK HERE to Learn More https://tinyurl.com/Hypothyroidismrp6 The truth is that there is so much more that you can do to treat hypothyroidism than what your doctor may or may not recommend. But as I mentioned above, because the medical community is largely driven by the financial interests of the pharmaceutical industry, most patients are sent home with the wrong medication that oftentimes only makes their hypothyroidism worse in the end (more about that below). A quick search on just about any online medical reference will quickly tell you that there are certain foods and supplements that may affect your ability to absorb many of the thyroid medications that are readily prescribed. But not a single one mentions any foods or supplements that can directly affect your ability to produce or utilize the thyroid hormone that your body natural makes. In fact, most medical professionals will tell you that your diet has little to no impact whatsoever on the health of your thyroid. It’s also important to consider that there are also factors that affect how fast or slow that you begin to see the results of implementing the steps mentioned above in your hypothyroidism treatment plan. For example, it can vary largely due to a woman’s cycle. This is because of the role that estrogen and progesterone play in her ability to handle certain nutrients in her diet. It’s not uncommon for her symptoms to return when estrogen peaks during her cycle. But it normally only takes a cycle or two before things begin to stabilize. If you can get a handle on these 5 essential steps for hypothyroidism treatment success then you will be well on your way to not only seeing improvements with your hypothyroidism but also with fully restoring your health and energy. EXAMPLES OF MEDICATIONS WITH THE POTENTIAL TO AFFECT THE SURGICAL EXPERIENCE Agent Effect of Interaction With Anesthetics Corticosteroids Prednisone (Deltasone) Cardiovascular collapse can occur if discontinued suddenly. Therefore, a bolus of corticosteroid may be administered intravenously immediately before and after surgery. Diuretics Hydrochlorothiazide (HydroDIURIL) During anesthesia, may cause excessive respiratory depression resulting from an associated electrolyte imbalance Phenothiazines Chlorpromazine (Thorazine) May increase the hypotensive action of anesthetics Tranquilizers Diazepam (Valium) May cause anxiety, tension, and even seizures if withdrawn suddenly Insulin Interaction between anesthetics and insulin must be considered when a patient with diabetes is undergoing surgery. Intravenous insulin may need to be administered to keep the blood glucose within the normal range. Antibiotics Erythromycin (Ery-Tab) When combined with a curariform muscle relaxant, nerve transmission is interrupted and apnea from respiratory paralysis may result. Anticoagulants Warfarin (Coumadin) Can increase the risk of bleeding during the intraoperative and postoperative periods; should be discontinued in anticipation of elective surgery. The surgeon will determine how long before the elective surgery the patient should stop taking an anticoagulant, depending on the type of planned procedure and the medical condition of the patient. Antiseizure Medications Intravenous administration of medication may be needed to keep the patient seizure-free in the intraoperative and postoperative periods. Thyroid Hormone Levothyroxine sodium (Levothroid) Intravenous administration may be needed during the postoperative period to maintain thyroid levels. Opioids Long-term use of opioids for chronic pain (6 mo or greater) in the preoperative period may alter the patient's response to analgesic agents.

http://www.PanicNoMore.net Panic attacks symptoms can be very frightening and distressing. Symptoms tend to occur very suddenly, without warning and often for no apparent reason. As well as overwhelming feelings of anxiety, the following panic attacks symptoms can also take place: a sensation that your heart is beating irregularly (palpitations) sweating trembling hot flushes chills shortness of breath a choking sensation chest pain nausea dizziness feeling faint numbness, or pins and needles dry mouth a need to go to the toilet ringing in your ears a feeling of dread, or a fearof dying a churning stomach a tingling sensation in fingers shivering shaking Panic attacks symptoms can also have unpleasant physical affects, and they can also be accompanied by thoughts of fear and terror. For this reason, people with panic disorder start to fear the next attack, which creates a cycle of living in 'fear of fear' and adds to the sense of panic. Sometimes, panic attacks symptoms can be so intense they can make you feel like you are having a heart attack. However, it is important to be aware that panic attacks symptoms such as a racing heartbeat, or shortness of breath, will not result in you having a heart attack. Also, although a panic attack can often be frightening, it will not cause you any physical harm. People who have had panic disorder for some time usually learn to recognise this 'heart attack sensation', and become more aware of how to control their symptoms. Panic Attacks symptoms usually peak within 10 minutes, with most attacks lasting for between 5 and 20 minutes. Some panic attacks have been reported to have lasted up to an hour. However, it is likely that the reason for this is due to one attack occurring straight after another, or high levels of anxiety being felt after the first attack.
