Dr. Berg talks about peripheral neuropathy. Peripheral neuropathy is a pain, burning pain, numbness, tingling and numbness in your feet and hands. 1) These are caused by the high level of sugar in the blood causing microvascular. The body does not like too much sugar, and it becomes toxic. 2) Glycation end products protein that builds up because of the sugar. 3) Deficiencies in Vitamin B12 and B1, which causes short circuiting that electric flow and start getting nerve issues. The solution is to fixed the insulin problem and start taking vitamin B12, B1 in fat soluble form and nutritional yeast which you can get from your nutritional store.

Im in Keto 4 months ago, I have nutritional yeast, my potassium, sea kelp and follow your program, however, I still have a strong headache, tingling and numbness in the whole left of my body. Help Doctor Berg!
Hi, I'm 49 and in good health and weight. 3 months ago I had increasingly pain at my lower back that came on over a couple of days. It was the worst pain ever and could not even move in bed for over a week. It has reduced to lesser pain now but still very painfully from left hip and groin area down front of my thigh to bottom of knee cap and to ankle. I'm on pain killers naproxen, gabapentin and codeine which takes the edge off it. I often end up being bent over because of pain and sometimes my leg gives way. What is causing this constant pain and how can I cure it please?
many doctors do stick their noses in not knowing things about a patient , having been diagnosed with f/attaxia .charco marie tooth disease the prognosis has always been i am going to loss the use of my arms and legs ,I lost the use of muscular control of my feet below knee atrophy in about 1959 ,no treatment possible /fusion of the bones followed 61 to 63 and 77 to 79 accidents were not accidents but progression according to doctors ,it is the facts that what i call switches turn off parts of the body at times ie from the shoulders and at times my legs meaning i fall down for a moment or my hands turn off for a moment maybe it can become permanent you cant repair the nerves that control the body and i believe those effect all control as doctors said no treatment possible i sought spiritual healing perhaps it is possible ,i would never prove it but live on now at 72 .a non religious person . cant believe these doctors now say they have a miracle cure for a neuropathy .
Dr Berg: When peripheral neuropathy in the feet is caused by heart valve replacement surgery, is there a supplement that can be used to reduce or stop the pain and burning? Walking is very painful. Gabapentin does not work; neither does vit B family of vitamins.
Oh dear . What this guy has outlined has little to no substance in science. Yes a lack of B12 can cause neuropathy but so can too much . Chemo therapy can cause neuropathy as can many many other things NOT related to sugar . Go see a neurologist and forget this .
Stephen M - many "treatments" are the cause of low B12 and to my understanding, one cannot overdose. When the liver has a full storage the rest is simply expelled from the body. My experiences with neurologists is that any damage cannot be repaired but there are plenty of painkillers. Any drug, and I'm sure there will be many, will simply be to mask the symptoms whilst doing damage in other areas. Personally, I consider this doc worthy of my admiration though I will always do further research.

I have Neuropathy in my feet up to mid calf and I'm Diabetic. I just found out last week I have stage 3B kidney disease. I have been itching all over lately and severe itching in my mid calf to ankles. I have learned through you about the itching but in this area it's VERY intense and I've used Baking soda, Vicks vapo rub, and white vinegar to try to relieve it but nothing is working. Do you have any other suggestions to try to relieve the itching??? Please I'm getting desperate it's driving me crazy. Thank you
check your Iron levels / Hemoglobin levels in ur blood.
Low Hemoglobin causes itching.
if u suffer from low hemoglobin then dont buy medicines or pills just use Blackstrap Molasses every day.
Symptoms will be cured and the iron retention in ur body will be great when compared with Medicines.
Since ur diabetic, so pls start keto and intermittent fasting with in 3 months u will be releived of diabetes.......ask ur doctor about using Blackstrap Molasses.
There are several components to treating neuropathy at home. One plan I found which succeeds in merging these is the Gabs Neuro Guide (google it if you're interested) definately the most useful guide i've seen. Check out the interesting info .
I reversed my diabeties a couple months ago, I just recently started having the burning, tingly feet the last 2 wks. I stopped my b vitamins-guess Ill start up again and see if this helps.. any suggestions?
Thanks for the Video! Forgive me for butting in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you ever tried - Taparton Sturdy Nerves Takeover (should be on google have a look)? Thank you sooooooo much for making these videos it helps me understand my diabetes better I found that most doctors practice medicine not health that I you for give me tools to manage my health not my med 😘
My neuropathy is NOT in my feet. It are my lower legs which are affected; between my knees and my ankles. Advice of Mayo clinic is Alpha Lipoic acid and L Carnitine. I had both of those but in to low a dose. Added lecithin for the myelin sheath and also evening primrose oil. 2 weeks now and improving
I know this video is old, but I found it in search of a question I've had all my life. I realize the saphenous nerve is strictly a sensory nerve and mostly cutaneous tissue in the lower leg. However, I was wondering - can there be a congenital defect where the S. nerve grew into the tibia (making that particular area of the tibia hypersensitive) and leaving the cutaneous tissue above it without any sensation? What is this kind of congenital nerve defect called? You see, since birth and all my life, I've had a "circular" numb area below my right knee just on the inside of my leg at the top of the tibia. This skin area has no feeling whatsoever, in fact, I can stick pins in it and not feel a thing. However, deeper in the tissue, this area of the tibia is hypersensitive - thus any light tap or slight pressure (imagine a very gentle massage of the muscle) that sends pressure that reaches the bone sends me through the roof! It feels like my tibia is being broken. If I'm sitting on the couch and toss a pillow on my leg, and the sensation of the pillow hitting my leg goes to the tibia - OUCH! - immediate bone pain.) This hypersensitive area of the tibia is beneath the exact same cutaneous numb area of my skin. I've had this all my life - and I'm completely grown now, and have learned to live with it, but I am just curious what this condition is called (besides an obvious "nerve birth defect"). Growing up,, I've tried to explain it to my doctors, but they just seemed to think it is due to an athletic injury. I could never make them understand I haven't had an injury to this area of my leg, and I just think the saphenous nerve developed in the wrong direction and attached to my tibia instead of my skin tissue in this one particular spot. (By the way, this condition is only my right leg. My left leg has no numb spot or hypersensitive tibia.)
Appreciate Video! Forgive me for the intrusion, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you heard about - Taparton Sturdy Nerves Takeover (search on google)? It is a smashing exclusive product for Getting rid of Neuropathy without the normal expense. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my BF at last got cool results with it.
I had a major foot and ankle injury 10 years ago. I feel from a height of about 14 feet landing into the side of a muddy ditch. Left foot hit first. The heel from my steel toe boots dug in and my whole body weight with the fall increase compressed and rolled over my foot. After the loud bang and I stopped my foot was pointed 90 degrees internal and with a quick hard shake it snapped back straight with another bang. MRI showed ATF was completely torn from fibula. Every tendon on the lateral side was torn including part of the PTF. Doctors did lower leg xrays and just called it a major sprain. The MRI my primary doctor did showed all the soft tissue damage along with heal fractures and AVN. Weeks later a large swelling appeared near the top of the fibula and that is when I started losing sensation in my foot. Later ultrasound tests and xray showed fractures of the upper fibula. For years i have worn a rigid AFO on the leg that completely locks my ankle in neutral like a cast. In the past few years i started getting feeling back to my foot. I never had surgery to the ankle to repair anything so walking without the brace is very painful because the joint is very unstable. In the past few months I have been experiencing all the symptoms on the video. I do not have high blood sugar. Could what I am feeling just be from the injury and damage to the nerves?
I was on KETO for 3 months and ONLY LOST 6 lbs. I have lost more since I stopped Keto (went back to counting calories-no more than 1000 a day). My blood sugars are SO MUCH LOWER. So I don't understand why this is happening now. I have had numbness & tingling, but now my right foot is SO painful I can barely walk & it is tender to the touch. HELP! 😓

I’ve had 4 back surgeries, I was told I had nerve damage . It shows up in my feet 24/ 7 , and it has for years . I was prescribed gabapentin, that doesn’t work . I did get nutritional yeast & wheat grass powder, ashwaganda . Z radical from Dr.Peter Glidden . I heard rosemary , peppermint oil is good also. I have vocal cord cancer- complete laryngectomy. I heard rosemary oil is good for respiratory. I don’t sleep much , because when I lay down , I feel like I can’t breath . Any suggestions?
I have peripheral neuropathy and I have no diabetes. I have a genetic part of this disorder. My sugar levels have never been high. I do have to B12 shots because of my anemia. I will try adding B 1. I already use nutritional yeast
Yes I accept what the previous commenter said - definately not as easy than some people make out to find a natural remedy for neuropathy.
You should be aware of this and take advice from others. I searched round many websites and found a lot of great help by searching google on sites like Neuro Pro Planner. Good luck and hope you succeed!
I do agree with a couple of others said - it's more difficult than it sounds to find a natural remedy for neuropathy.
Be cautious and take advice from other people. I looked round many websites and discovered some great advice by searching google on sites such as Neuro Pro Planner. I wish you luck and hope you succeed!

I certainly accept what you have written - it's not straight forward than some people make out to find a natural remedy for neuropathy.

interesting points ,if anyone else needs to find out about neuropathy pain treatment try Knewreck Prevent Neuropathy Guide ( search on google ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my cousin got excellent success with it.
YES - I have used it with success. I believe it help clean me out and quit smoking. Looking into it more for my mom who has neuropathy. From what the Dr is saying it sounds like serrapetase would help with the protein build up on the nerves from too much sugar.
I can't tell you how many doctors I have seen about the pain in my hands and feet . I have passed all diabetic test and yet Im one of the few in my family without it.. I have been given the endless supply of nsaids without any luck.. Other than being told to walk 14 miles a day and lose weight no doctor has even tried to help. One Dr.Berg video and Im on my way to healing MYSELF as I know the issues. .. your heaven sent Dr. Berg thanks
Thanks Dr. Berg for these precious lessons. I have a question : i live in Tunisia ( north Africa) and can't find Kale at any store or market. Is there any other similar green ( same vitamins and minerals) for a daily shake ?? Thank you.
Dark green leafy vegetables would contain the same vitamins and minerals, not necessarily in the same amounts though. I'm sure that there are some dark green leafy vegetables that grow well in your region and that you could use instead of the kale.
interesting points ,if anyone else needs to find out about neuropathy pain treatment try Knewreck Prevent Neuropathy Guide ( search on google ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my cousin got excellent success with it.
What Dr. Berg left out was that metformin depletes b12. I had no tingling until I took metformin then the damage was done that first week. I'm vegan and was probably a little low on b12 anyway. Ran out of b12 and didn't pick more up for a month.
If you are on metformin, take a lot of b12 and don't miss it.

I am a student in school for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. One of our patients developed peripheral neuropathy in her hands and feet from a chemotherapy treatment for her lung cancer. She now happily reports that acupuncture along with herbal prescriptions have cleared up all symptoms of the peripheral neuropathy! She is such a wonderful person and it makes me feel very happy to know that we have brought her relief! Diet and nutrition is so important as well - Thanks for the amazing information as always, Dr. Berg!
Hello Dr. Berg. I m following your videos for the past 50 days and started keto diet with intermittent fasting since that time. I feel so fresh even without eating for 20 to 22 hrs. I lost alot of my body fat. My friends are so amzed to see the result and now they are also following your keto programme. Thanks a lot.
I eat well, (high veg low carb, reasonable fat, whole foods) Ive run 5 tough mudders, gym and cycle at least once a week each when not in training, I have consistently low blood sugar, have been a fat adapted athlete, eat fast eat ....but whenever I go out on my bike I get numb finger tips!!!
What if you have these pains on your spine on the back, after having spinal cord injuries, and 2 pinched nerves and 10 disks out of place. Some disks ruptured in lower back? And 2 twisted vertibras ? Will these vitamins, and minerals work to take away the burning, and needle pain. And sweating do you think? Oh and 1 neck bone off just a little/don't line up.
melanie james been to an chro. And he used what is called a gun. An that helped to at least people could touch my back (it goes, into spasms right away). But that was, about it. N,went to an orthopath (ms) he said it was spasing really bad he had to stop working on my back. N their pay was 240 an hr. For the 1st time then it goes down to 100 + after that 1st time. For each app. He said it would take yrs to work and I might get back to about 1/3 of where I was.
That was in Jan. 2014 , sick of all the Dr's . And everything in between. They all say not much can be done. 3 Dr's said don't have surgery, as it might or might not help and make it worse. But it does help to get off my back. I also have a curved spine. That also happened recently.
I have this type of pain on my feet when i woke up in the morning usually... it is very painful to step on the floor.. but after a while the pain disappear.. but i will get it the next morning.. is it a diabetic symptom dr berg? Thanks
I have had this for years and up to the max dose of gabapentin to cut the pain along with Kratom. This is a major affliction, I thought it was a life long affliction but I just found out I'm MTHFR two gene mutations so my B12 is probably super deficient along with folate and the other B vitamins, so I'm hopeful because of the MTHFR and b vit connections explains alot. I'm thankful you covered this. We all love and appreciate you Dr Berg!
I have experienced a long standing "iron" deficiency. Finally last year I found a N.P. in Nv. Who gave me 5x the recommended amount (inject) and it was AWESOME! Haven't found anyone in California to administer the same. Started taking P5P which is only B6. Got any suggestions for better delivery of B vitamins? Troubled by neuropathy.
Dr. Berg I'm 17 and I have this numbness, tingling (legs , feet and hands ) and bone pain especially on the legs and knees , that would be even worse in winter , so I'll taking b vitamins supplements because I don't have diabetes and my sugars are okay and I'm also keto for like 5 months but these symptoms don't wanna go away and also when I wake up from a sofa or a chair , my vision starts to fade a little bit and my head a straw feeling too
Nice Video! I'd like to ask that you make another on this topic and explain that there are other things that can cause Peripheral Neuropathy. Explain what the causes can be and if it's reversible. This video gives the impression that sugar is the only cause. thanks.
I wish my specialist talked like this. I am not deficient in B vitamins as tests have confirmed all blood work is great except of course for severe inflammation. RA & Fibro. I bough the B12 vitamin you recommended small dose, as I have severe pain and burning pain in both my legs going right down my feet. The B12 causes severe issues with my intestines. Severe pain/bloat you name it. Severe. I have tried to get to 1 week of taking it in hopes the side effects will stop but no. I did have low D vitamins and have been supplementing for 5 years and blood test say I am great but the burning has not stopped. I just started taking Tumeric & bought nutritional yeast. I will be eliminating some things from my diet. I am vegetarian trying to get to being began. I know 100% the dairy is my problem. I get heartburn right after dairy. If I do not eat it I have not heartburn at all. Once I start eating it again, it's back.
G I N A GK Sounds like you need to work on your metabolism so your burning will stop and you can actually digest things. The nutritional yeast and Gallbladder support would probably be awesome for you.
I have neuropathy as a side effect of chemotherapy from breast cancer. I know that my sugar intake is low, and I also receive vitamin B1 and B12 injections (I have been getting them since I had part of my colon removed due to it twisting) so I know that my levels are in range. Would the yeast possibly help?
Jackie Watson Fitness As far as vitamins are concerned the yeast will help, but as far as your neuropathy is concerned you need to take ALL Sugar out of your diet and that includes carbohydrates that convert to Glucose internally. The Ketogenic diet is your answer!
Is neuropathy reversible? Thanks Dr Berg! I have been taking Benfothiamine (600mg/day) as per your recommendation and the improvement in my feet has been nothing short of remarkable, A big thank you from Australia!
