why sugar and not sugar syrup in daiquiri (if he uses syrup even for old fashioned, which could be made with cube as in an old fashioned style)? If he is ok with syrup in old fashioned, what is the point of avoiding syrup in daiquiri?
Simplicity is often the best policy to adhere to. You'd be hard pressed to have someone turn their nose up/appetite off with the most basic (and delicious) whiskey sour recipe. Fresh squeezed lemon juice, a touch of simple syrup, cracked ice, and of course some quality bourbon will always please. And yes, personal preference will always have it's place in all facets of life. The way one enjoys his/her cocktails is no different. My comment was in no way to disparage this man's abilities as he is obviously a professional. Just had some questionable ingredients in my most favorite of drinks is all.
