Has anyone ever told you you look like a mix between Bella Thorne and Julian Moore? :) Oh, and also, thank you so much for these videos, you are helping me so much in my decision-making to get this surgery
I needed this video today. I am so dealing with my sugar addiction lately and it is killing me. I am almost 4 years Post OP VSG, and have had a 40 pound regain. I am lost, eating has become a chore except when it comes to carbs. Carbs/sugar are my weakness and I am doing my damnedest to reduce them, its one of the hardest things diet wise I have ever done.
Love your vlogs. I understand the foodaddiction and having to stay away from dealers like supermarket and mac donaldses. Only there are dealers everywherw! I ones was in front of a strawberry stand. I could have died just there. Cause if i eat one i will eat the whole stand!
It is my belief people do not have a food addiction but a chemical addiction to those unpronounceable names on the label ,hence reading the label is so important. so it could be as simple as eliminating those. Most are shelf life extenders,
I think you are right about being addicted to the chemicals in food, also wheat is a hugely addictive substance in itself, and simple carbohydrates. That being said I have also overeaten healthy food. I have eaten to the point of being past full which is overeating.
It's both. If you've been overeating, you almost certainly have been using it as an emotional crutch as well. So there is a psychological, spiritual and moral component to most folk's overeating. It's true for myself, and for everyone who has struggled with weight that I know--whether they had EDs that caused them to become too thin, or too fat. The chemical poisoning of our food is an enormous factor, but when you eliminate all processed/chemical/added sugars/nightshade veggies/etc... completely, as I've done for over five years now--you realize just how much it's absolutely not the only thing. And, this isn't the first time I've eliminated them. I was able to do one stint of over a year and another of about three years. But, it's normal to have a few tries before finally quitting for good. They help you prepare for doing it for the long haul ;)
hey Emily I would love to see more VLOG type videos and what you eat I get WLS in October this year and can't wait to be able too start my new lifestyle changes I've started a little already but it's so hard when you have all the temptations and you never full totally full and satisfied 😏😏😏
Thank you for letting me know, Holly. Congrats on your surgery date! This is an exciting time for you. I am looking forward to vlogging my FL trip and having the accountability. Temptations are very real at all stages of this journey! I agree though, feeling full was difficult for me pre-op. I can't imagine how large my stomach must have been!
Great video topic. I think it's so important to be in tune with our bodies and our desires. We need to know our limitations and weaknesses. The idea of freezing the Keto Bundt cake is a great idea! I never even thought of that. I had 2 out of 16 servings and brought the rest to work! Not that I can't control myself, but there was no way we could finish it in our house before it went bad. My weakness is cheese and I really need to limit what's in my house and how frequently I add it to my daily intake. Using MFP to preplan your whole day is so helpful. Great job with taking off that regain! Xx
Thank you, SJ! Baked goods are definitely a weakness for me! I love cheese too but I think it helps that it's kept in a drawer in the fridge so I don't see it as much. :) Your videos and insta posts help me a ton too!
Thanks for the video. My job sounds similar to yours. I too realize I suffer with food addiction and try not to keep the trigger foods in the house and when they are brought in I often take them to the office to be rid of them or throw them out as well. I also realize if I am tired or have been deficient in protein that the addiction comes to light.
Thanks for discussing an issue that is real for many of us. Have a great day!!!
What service did you use? My work usually does a fancy Christmas party and renting a dress sounds perfect. Tracking sleep is great, I really love that the fitbit does that. Food addiction is hard because food is something you have to have to live. Would love if you vlogged your eating. I'm traveling in 2 months and it would be fun to see what you eat!
Hi Courtney! I used Rent the Runway. Here's a code for $30 if you would like it https://rtr.app.link/e/VFiIT1n4cE. Thank you for the feedback! I will plan on vlogging my food! (And maybe a little more).
I am 7 weeks post-op and I feel the same way about going to a restaurant. I used to get excited about going out and eating, but now that I can't eat more than a few bites, I don't really care to eat out. This has definitely been a benefit of the surgery 😊
Deanna, you may go through some ups and downs with that as you are able to eat more but you got this! I remember mourning food at that stage. I would sometimes have to spit a bite out after I put it in because I was too full.
Thank you so much for this video. i am just under a year out and am struggling with food addiction as well. I am starting keto myself and am hoping it helps me push through this VERY LONG stall. Youre truly inspirational!
I am a medical claims examiner for an insurance company. When my kids were little I worked from home for two companies, though, that you can get started with on your own. One was liveops.com and the other was called Arise. Check them out, both are very viable options.
That's super hard for me too. I haven't had my surgery yet and my Dr told me I'm going to have to stay away from sweets for the rest of my life. That really made me sad but it may be my reality. I'm trying to lose weight before my surgery and yesterday was my birthday and I had cake. I was dying for it. It's going to be my hardest thing.
It will be hard, Bobbi, but if you can save the cake for JUST your birthday and very special occasions it will be that much more special. I believe in not telling myself I can't have something. I try to tell myself I can have it if I want it but have a conversation in my head about what having it means. (Like possible backsliding).
